So I'm on break and bored, so why not try to role-play a bit while I have the chance? I've had a pretty detailed plot in mind for quite some time now, and I finally want to try it out and see where it goes. First things first, I'm not the most active considering I'm in college and all, but I should be able to make a reply a day, and since I'm on break right now, I should be on often enough until college starts back. If you're looking for somebody with more activity, then this isn't the role-play for you, sorry. I'm also looking for somebody who can give me at least a paragraph in each reply, more than one would be amazing. And please, if you want to add your own ideas to the plot, we can certainly talk it over and see how your ideas will go. c: If you're interested, just give me a quick description of your character(s) and we'll go from there!
x. Setting -- The forest territory x. Clans involved -- WindClan & ShadowClan x. Genre overview -- Forbidden romance, betrayal, action
x. Plot .x Birchstar is the new leader of WindClan. The past leader, Cloudstar, and the leader of ShadowClan had never been on friendly terms. Many WindClan cats want to keep the hostility between the two Clans, but Birchstar is ready for a change. She believes that peace between the two Clans can be achieved if they both work together. Your cat is the deputy of his Clan. The leader he serves under is more than ready to turn down Birchstar's offer of peace, but your character sees something about Birchstar that makes him want to think twice on her offer of peace despite his leader's stubbornness of keeping the hostility. With peace between the two Clans in mind, your character decides to visit Birchstar on his own. The two seem to share many of the same ideas and something like friendship sparks; this only creates more meetings outside of Clan gatherings behind their Clans' backs. During all of this WindClan begins to experience mysterious deaths on the border between ShadowClan. Most of WindClan want to declare war on the other Clan, blaming them for the deaths. Eaglefoot, Birchstar's sister and the "leader" of wanting war, does all she can to rally WindClan into charging into battle with or without Birchstar's say. This only causes more tension between the two Clans. Birchstar and your character try to find out the true culprit behind the killings, but they only end up in even more trouble than expected, especially when they begin to realize exactly how they feel for one another. Not only is it a matter of time before their Clans shed blood, but with hostilities growing even thicker, their relationship could very well be the end of them.
x. Main Characters .x Birchstar - Cream tabby she-cat with amber eyes. Eaglefoot - Brown tabby she-cat with amber eyes. Nightstar - Pure black tom with green eyes. Redstripe - Big, russet-brown tabby with amber eyes. Autumnbreeze - Dark tortoiseshell she-cat with dark green eyes.

Cloudstar's death was still fresh in the she-cat's mind. She vividly remembered the way the patchy gray tom had been clinging to his last life stubbornly. He had called for only a few cats to be with him as he slowly lost his life despite fighting so hard to stay alive. Birchnose had been one of those cats the leader had called upon. She had been joined with the medicine cat and Cloudstar's only kit, Icetail. In silence the three had watched their leader draw his last breath before falling limp. The moment Cloudstar had lost his last life was the moment Birchnose realized that her life was forever changed. No longer was she a simple deputy following the word of her leader, no, she was the leader. From that moment on she had to step forward and lead a Clan as she saw fit; she wasn't worried about her ability to lead a Clan, she was worried about how many of her warriors clung to the idea of seeing ShadowClan as nothing but enemies. Birchnose, Birchstar now, saw no reason to keep WindClan and ShadowClan as enemies, not any longer. The grudge between the two Clans had gone on long enough, and for what? The grudge was so old, not even Birchstar knew why the Clans despised one another. But she was ready to change that. As leader she wanted to make WindClan great, and she felt as if mending a friendship with ShadowClan would help spur WindClan along to greatness. Not that WindClan wasn't already great...
The tabby had been leader for no more than two moons now. She wasn't insanely popular among her Clanmates, especially with her sister, Eaglefoot. The two had been close as kits, but somewhere along their apprentice days they had fallen out of sorts. Eaglefoot had different ideas than Birchstar did; the warrior believed in bloodshed while the leader believed in peace. Many cats followed Eaglefoot's idea, calling Birchstar weak for not wanting to unsheathe her claws, but she did her best to push aside the stinging comments. Birchstar was leader. StarClan had picked her to lead for a reason.
The moor stretched far and wide underneath a breaking dawn. Creamy hues of pink, orange, and red danced across the sky. Slowly the tabby leader drew in a deep breath. The familiar scents of heather wrapped around her muzzle in comforting warmth. Nothing was better than waking up to the fresh scent of heather. But she had to leave the familiarity of her home today. She had decided that this would be the day in which she would travel to ShadowClan with a trusted warrior at her side to attempt and negotiate peace with Nightstar. Birchstar felt a prickle of nervous energy play at her paws, but she swallowed down the feeling as she slipped out of her den and came face-to-face with her Clanmates in camp. Already her deputy, Heatherclaw, was calling out patrols. Birchstar dipped her head to the brown tabby. "I'm heading to ShadowClan. I'll be taking Houndear with me. Watch the Clan for me while I'm gone." Before the deputy could challenge her leader's comments, Birchstar slipped away and called for Houndear, the long-furred black tom padding over when his name was called.
"Morning, Birchstar. Is there anything I can do?" His voice was smooth and warm, a welcoming sound to Birchstar.
The leader smiled to the gentle warrior. "I would like for you to come with me to speak with Nightstar."
Houndear's green eyes flashed with curiosity, but he kept silent. His unquestioning loyalty toward Birchstar was one reason why she decided to bring the tomcat with her - she had also brought him along due to his peaceful and humble nature. She didn't need a hostile cat along with her when trying to speak about peace.
With a flick of her tail Birchstar signaled for them to head out. With Houndear at her side, the WindClan leader walked through the moor, only stopping when she made it to the ShadowClan border. There she decided to wait for a patrol to meet them and allow them to step onto the marshlands of ShadowClan.

Redstripe wasn't supposed to be leading the dawn patrol this morning. Blackstripe was. But the ShadowClan medicine cat, Morningdusk, had confined the dark tabby to camp due to an injury he'd preformed on a hunting mission. Now he trotted down the ThunderClan borderline with three other warriors; Smokyfeather, Flameshade, and Blackstripe's apprentice Toadpaw. The apprentice had been working the deputy's nerve all morning. And it was already clear by the way his neck fur stood up that the russet-brown tom wasn't in the mood for games this morning. Redstripe padded along the border, heading towards WindClan. Hopefully no new activity. Nightstar was already pretty worked up with Cloudstar's recent attacks. No need to stress him even more.
As his patrol reached the WindClan border, Redstripe ordered for them to spread out. The sooner they got done, the sooner Redstripe could go out for a hunt. He needed the peace to calm his nerves. Redstripe let out a small sigh as the cats all began in different directions, happy to be alone. The tom reached down and stretched, flexing his long claws in the marshy ground. His jaws gaping in a wide yawn. All had been pretty stressful in the ShadowClan camp for the past few moons. With Nightstar's suspicions of WindClan growing, things weren't any easier for Redstripe. If only they'd just give it up. How long has this been going on now? They're both getting to old to be starting wars like this. And adding poor old me into it? I don't think so.
Once Redstripe was finished stretching, he began to mark the bushes and trees. Not daring to leave one unmarked. No need to upset Nightstar. As he came to a bush, a loud yowl sounded from somewhere farther ahead and Redstripe's ears pricked. That was Toadpaw. "What's the mouse-brain gotten himself into now?" He muttered before racing after where the yowl'd come from.
As he neared the clearing, the deputy skidded to a hault to see the young brown tabby, writhing on the ground and attacking the WindClan warrior, Houndear. "Toadpaw, get away from there this instant." He hissed and launched himself into the mix. Redstripe struggled getting a grip on Toadpaw for a moment, but finally got the apprentice away.
"What do you think your doing?" Redstripe was furious. "These cats are tresspassing! You know what Nightstar said, 'Any WindClan cat found more than a fox-lengths from are border are to be-"
The glare that the deputy gave the apprentice shut him up right away.
Redstripe let out a breath, smoothing down his chest fur before turning to the WindClan cats. Birchnose was here. Must've been something important. "Birchnose. Houndear. I apologize for Toadpaw's behavior, I'm not sure he's learned good manners yet," He shot Toadpaw a glare before turning his attention back to Birchnose. "May I ask why your here?"

It was dangerous to be travelling to ShadowClan due to the hostility between the two Clans, but Birchstar had no other option. She couldn't wait until the next gathering, and with a matter like this, it was best to leave the other two Clans out of it. RiverClan and ThunderClan were more than welcome to keep their noses out of affairs that did not pertain to them. WindClan was on neutral terms with the two other Clans, but that didn't give them the right to know everything about her Clan.
For a brief moment Birchstar found her mind drifting off as she awaited a ShadowClan patrol. This was her first true task as a leader. She had named a deputy and even apprenticed a litter of kits in her short time as leader, but she had never did something like this before. Not until now. Once again that feeling of nervousness snaked its way back into her paws and chest. The tabby took in a deep breath, almost regretting it when thick ShadowClan scent hit her nose. Just as she was about to snap back into reality on her own time, the harshness of the real world knocked her out of her thoughts. Fur bristling, Birchstar turned right as Houndear was unexpectedly attacked by a brown blur.
Houndear thrashed about for a moment as he was taken to the ground by surprise. He had not been anticipating an attack; in remaining unaware of possible battle, the black tom was overpowered by the ShadowClan apprentice for a brief moment. He soon regained himself and swatted a sheathed paw at his attacker, not wanting to cause damage, but wanting to have enough power in the blow to show the enemy cat that he was strong and capable of fending off attackers.
"Houndear!" Birchstar exclaimed, ready to rush over and help her warrior in case more ShadowClan warriors spilled from the shadows. She hadn't wanted a fight, but if it came down to it, well, she had claws and fangs for a reason. Luckily, the attacker was pulled away before blood could be shed.
Birchstar, still ruffled, turned when she heard a second voice cut through the brisk air. She stepped closer to Houndear as he got back to his paws, fur ruffled from the surprise attack. He remained calm and dignified even with his fur now a mess and the fact that an apprentice had startled him.
Amber eyes locked onto the powerful tomcat that was Redstripe, deputy of ShadowClan. Birchstar dipped her head to the reddish tom. For many moons had she shared the position of deputy with him, sitting near the tomcat during gatherings and the such. This was the first time she was addressing him as the leader of her Clan and not the deputy. It was apparent by his usage of her warrior name that he still thought of her as a deputy, but of course ShadowClan would not know of Cloudstar's passing just yet. Instead of becoming hostile over hearing her old name, Birchstar merely corrected him briskly and coolly. "It's Birchstar now. I wish to speak with Nightstar. It's important." Important for both our Clans, the she-cat thought to herself as she silently hoped Redstripe would allow her to speak with the ShadowClan leader. He very well could tell her to leave his territory, but Birchstar knew Redstripe wasn't as aggressive as his leader. Redstripe at least looked to reason, and Birchstar admired him for that. "Houndear is the only warrior I have with me," she mewed with a flick of her tail toward the black tom. "I bring no harm to your Clan." As she spoke she shot a quick glance at Toadpaw. She silently decided to keep a watch on the young tom. She was sure he posed no threat, and even if he did he was just an apprentice, but she was on enemy territory and so she had to be on full alert.

Redstripe dipped his head to the new leader, "Congratulations then, Birchstar." It was unlike any ShadowClan warrior to be accepting to any cat. But Redstripe was no where near being as violent as his clanmates. He actually took the time in thinking before acting. And he most definitely wasn't as cold. Sure he could have a bad attitude at times, but that was nothing. Majority of the time the tom was always calm.
But Birchstar's question threw him off guard. This was the last thing he needed. Nightstar would lose his mind. A new WindClan leader? "I'm not sure that's a good idea.' He signaled with his tail for Toadpaw to fetch the others. The apprentice raced away immediately. "I've had enough stress with Cloudstar's shenanigans, let alone yours." He hoped she knew he was speaking out of all seriousness. "And to be honest with you Birchstar, I'm tired of this war. When are you going to give it up?"
Though he admired her confidence in coming to speak with his leader. Maybe, just maybe, she had come for a good important conversation. But then again there was alsonthe chance of it being bad.
It had been hard for ShadowClan the past few moons due to the constant war and his warrior's were growing tired. But there was no way his Clan would ever lose their pride and give in.
Before she could reply, Toadpaw returned with Smokyfeather and Flameshade. Both warrior's pelts were bristling at the sight of WindClan. "Come on, I've got an apprentice to train later on." The four circled the WindClan cats before leading them towards the ShadowClan camp. Oh, won't Nightstar be thrilled.

Birchstar silently dipped her head in acknowledgement toward the tomcat's verbal acceptance of her leadership. Most ShadowClan cats would take WindClan's new leadership as an opportunity to invade. New leadership meant the Clan was still a bit off about the death of a noble leader, but Birchstar knew Redstripe enough to know that he was not the type to attack without reason. The tabby had spoken with him enough at gatherings to know he wasn't as battle hungry as Nightstar. She thought highly of the tom for that reason. While Birchstar never wanted to wish harm on another cat, especially a Clan's leader, she was curious to see how Redstripe would be as a leader when his time came. He'll be a good one. Nightstar is a great leader, he's just aggressive. That's all there was to it. Aggression could be a good thing but taken too far and it was just a pain.
With how forward she had spoken, it was only understandable that Redstripe would be a bit taken back. The new leader said nothing until Toadpaw was nothing more but a memory; she trusted Houndear to hear what she had to say, but having an apprentice within hearing distance seemed a bit worrying. "If it is a bad time, I can come back in a few day's time," she started slowly, her voice guarded for now. She then relaxed, relieved to hear that Redstripe was tired of all this fighting. Maybe she could at least have him on her side when it came to wanting to stop this war. "Though, I'm sure how much longer this should wait. I'm here to give it up, Redstripe. This war has been going on for much too long." She looked the amber-eyed tom in the eyes with her own amber gaze, hoping to find some sort of agreement in them. In just a few seasons WindClan had lost three fine warriors due to battle skirmishes taken too far. Birchstar could only imagine how many ShadowClan warriors had lost their life just recently.
Before she could say anything else, Toadpaw returned with two other warriors. Birchstar flicked her tail to bring Houndear closer to her as the ShadowClan cats began to escort them to their camp.

"What are they here for?" Flameshade murmured into Redstripe's ear, casting a wary glance over to the two WindClan cats. "You know what Nightstar said. I'm sure he won't be very happy with this."
Redstripe knew very well what his new leader had announced within the last few moons. Any WindClan cat found more than one fox-length at our brother were to be chased away or killed. It all sounded too violent in Redstripe's opinion. Killing a cat if they refused to leave? He could understand chasing them away, but really, killing sounded like it was going a little too far. "Just... don't worry about that now." Birchstar said she was here to end this madness, not start more of it. Hopefully Nightstar would agree or else things would get worse between the Clans.
Redstripe's thoughts began to wander as the ShadowClan camp came into view. What if Nightstar really did refuse to cooperate with Birchstar? It was highly impossible for him to do anything of the such. His leader had too much pride to give up on such a long time feud.
As he pushed his way through the camp entrance, he could feel the eyes and hostility rising from his clanmates. The deputy signaled with his tail for the other's to wait before padding to Nightstar's den. A dark tortoiseshell she-cat joined him along the way. "How was the patrol?" She asked, the worry clear in her dark green eyes. "It was fine Autumnbreeze, but it could have went better." He said in reply, laying his tail along her flank reassuringly before entering Nightstar's den. "Nightstar?"
The old leader sat curled in his nest. His green eyes half-closed as his deputy entered. "What is it? Anything worth reporting?" "Well... the RiverClan and ThunderClan borders were silent. And... well... Cloudstar passed, sir. Birchstar is now the new leader of WindClan. And she wishes to speak to you. Very important, according to her."
Nightstar lay in silence. His expression blank. If he hadn't known that his old enemy had died, he would have ordered the patrol away. But all his talk on chasing away WindClan cats seemed to vanish. Cloudstar went to join the ranks of StarClan, hmph? This was to be interesting. "Very well, bring Birchstar here. No one else."
Redstripe dipped his head before padding out and flicking his tail to let Birchstar know she was safe to enter. "Houndear had to stay though. Flameshade and Smokyfeather will take good care of him."

Birchstar pushed aside any worry that might be pricking at her pelt. She was leader. She had a right to ask to speak with another leader if it was important, and this was. She knew the ShadowClan cats were going to glare at her and Houndear as soon as their paws would step into the camp, but Birchstar was preparing herself for such. She could only hope Houndear was as prepared as she was.
Of course he is, she scolded herself silently. Houndear was a senior warrior, older than her even. He was calm and collected, level-headed. He knew what to do in any situation. It was one reason as to why she had picked the black tomcat to come along with her.
The dank scent of ShadowClan caused Birchstar to close her eyes for a quick moment. She could only flick her ear in disdain. ShadowClan scent was harsh enough at the border, but in their own camp… She had to control herself from wrinkling up her pink nose. At least they didn’t smell as horrid as RiverClan. The scent of fish always sent her stomach rolling… But enough of that. The WindClan leader was pulled out of her thoughts when a dark tortoiseshell made her way to Redstripe. Autumnbreeze, Birchstar thought swiftly as the she-cat’s name came to mind. The leader had seen the warrior at gatherings before. The she-cat and Redstripe seemed to be quite close with how they were interacting. But this was no time to wonder about the relationships in an enemy Clan.
Birchstar flicked her amber gaze to Redstripe when the tom padded over to her. She nodded silently, understanding why Nightstar would want to keep Houndear away from their conversation. The tabby turned to her warrior. ”I’ll be back soon,” she mewed.
The warrior nodded. He glanced to Smokyfeather and Flameshade before dipping his head toward the two warriors. ”I’m in good paws.” That was the last Birchstar heard of her Clanmate before she slipped into Nightstar’s den, ears pricking up as she caught sight of the dark-furred tomcat.
”Nightstar,” Birchstar greeted with a respectful dip of her head. ”How nice it is to see you.” Might as well greet the other leader before getting down to business.
-- Alright, I’ll add her to the list of main characters c:

Nightstar sat up in his nest, positioning the portion of his tail that he had next to his paws neatly. Interest gleamed in his pale green eyes as the new WindClan leader confronted him in such a respectful manner. "Birchstar. Congratulations on your leadership. It saddens me to know that Cloudstar has passed away. Whose going to be arguing with me now?" His meow was naturally quiet and cold, though sounded humorous at the mention of his deceased enemy. But it was hard for any cat to tell if the dark leader never gave anything away in a conversation. "Redstripe tell me you have some very important news for me. Let's here it shall we?"
Redstripe took his place at the den entrance. Laying down with his paws tucked beneath him. His ears were pricked, listening intently to the conversation going on behind him. The deputy couldn't help but wonder why Nightstar was being so... nice to Birchstar. It wasn't like him. Perhaps he was going to accept peace between them after all. Maybe Redstripe could think of other things, other than WindClan, for once. I doubt it. It all sounds too good for a cat like Nightstar to accept. The deputy knew his leader like he knew the territory. They were very close and Redstripe felt safe to say that the were good friends. And inside of ShadowClan, Nightstar really was a great leader. But he'll never show that side to any cat outside of the Clan. Birchstar got her hopes up for nothing. I hope she's ready for Nightstar to shove his disapproval right in her face.

That's fine! No need for every post to be long c: And wow, that does suck D: ---
Nightstar's greeting was almost too casual. It was like he was meeting with a distant friend. Birchstar had been expecting a ruffled Nightstar, fangs bared and claws poking out of their sheathes. Even if the tabby she-cat was somewhat confused at his behavior, she took this as a good sign. If he was being civil, then she was going to be as well. Not that she had being aggressive on her agenda.
She flicked her tail to signal that she was going to take a seat. Standing up would perhaps give off the wrong vibe. She curled her tail neatly around her nimble paws. "Cloudstar was a fine leader." When he wasn't being so paranoid and aggressive toward ShadowClan, Birchstar thought almost bitterly before continuing, "Hopefully only rebellious apprentices will be arguing with you now. I wish to speak with you about peace between our Clans. This..." Birchstar paused, fishing around for the right word. She didn't want to use the term 'war', "hostility," a decent enough word, "has gone on for too long. WindClan has lost too many lives to this bickering, and I'm sure ShadowClan has as well." The she-cat's eyes became guarded as she spoke, but she kept her fur smooth and her stance open and casual. She wanted to show Nightstar that she was being serious about this and wanted no anger to spark from this conversation. "I'm not asking for our Clans to become friends. All I'm asking for is a truce." Surely Nightstar wouldn't refuse her peace offering. ... Right? Surely he had enough sense to see that this aggression had gone on for much too long.

Nightstar frowned as Birchstar began to explain. Hostility? There was no hostility now that Cloudstar was gone. But he'd never let a cat from another Clan know that. The black tom rose to his paws and stretched. His back arched as he stretched each leg and paw. The tom finally stood after flexing his claws. He cleared his throat. This conversation was easily over. "We'll just have to see then, hmph Birchstar?" He said and pushed past her out of then den and paused at Redstripe's side. "Escort these cats outside of our camp, Redstripe. I think we've came across our decision."
Restripe was up on his paws as soon as his leader exited. What? The conversation was over? Just like that? They hadn't even made a clear agreement! Redstripe didn't argue yet though. He didn't want to get yelled at in front of cats from a rival Clan. "Yes, Nightstar. Come on Birchstar." Unbelievable. He'd know his leader was rude, but this... was almost unacceptable. Birchstar had come in peace, and Nightstar had turned her away quicker than a blink of an eye. And not even in the lightest way possible! As he came across the center of the camp, he looked around for Autumnbreeze. The tom padded over once he spotted her outside the warrior's den with his apprentice, Stonepaw. "Hey, we can head out now. We'll go on our hunt as soon as we've escorted the WindClan cats to the border. Just, go and wait with Houndear at the entrance."
A small sigh escaped his jaws as he watched the two she-cats head over to the camp entrance. Then his amber eyes flickered over to Birchstar. What would he say? Would she be angry? No. It wasn't his place to comfort a cat from a rival Clan. Even though he agreed with her, wanting to end the Clan rivalries between them. But what would his Clan think of him doing such a thing. It wouldn't be worth it. He decided for him not to. Even though he planned on doing it anyways when he got the chance.

… Wait. What? Birchstar had been expecting a true conversation with the ShadowClan leader, not some quick decision that happened between one line of dialogue each. The she-cat’s surprise flashed in her amber eyes as she looked the dark-furred tom over. ”We haven’t come to any decision,” Birchstar sputtered. Waiting to see wasn’t a decision, it was an open-ended comment. What was Nightstar thinking? Did he enjoy the hostility between WindClan and ShadowClan?
Birchstar tried to cover up her shock once Redstripe was told to escort her and Houndear out of camp. She shook out her pelt as she got to her paws, quickly glancing to the ShadowClan deputy before shooting a glance toward Nightstar. While surprise still rippled through her, she did her best to keep it under control now. ”Thank you for your time.” What else could she say now that Nightstar made it clear he wanted her and Houndear out of his camp? She wasn’t an apprentice that would act out of turn. She was a leader that had to see what the right thing to do was, and right now the right thing to do was to simply leave the other Clan’s camp.
The tabby remained silent after her last comment. She watched without saying a word as Redstripe spoke with Autumnbreeze. As they made their way to Houndear, the she-cat merely nodded, hoping to not give much away right now. She would speak with him once they were back on their own territory and luckily the black tom understood her silence. For a quick second Birchstar shot a glance toward Redstripe. What was he thinking? He had seemed to agree with her when they spoke at the border. Was he displeased with his leader’s decision? It wasn’t her right to know what the deputy was thinking, but she knew how she felt about Nightstar’s decision, and she wasn’t exactly pleased. Deciding it wasn’t her right to know what Redstripe was thinking, Birchstar prepared herself for the, what was probably going to be, silent escort back to her own border.

Redstripe lead the group of five, keeping his eyes ahead of him. The ShadowClan deputy was walking perhaps a mouse-length ahead of Birchstar, he could easily sleep a few words without his clanmates questioning him. But would they really? These were his two most trustworthy cats, Autumnbreeze being a very close friend, and Stonepaw was his apprentice. She was practically the kit he'd never had. Would they really tell Nightstar about his confrontation with Birchstar? I would hope not. As many secrets I have kept for them.
Here goes nothing. The russet-brown tabby slowed his pace so he walked somewhat beside Birchstar, making sure to keep his distance. "I'm sorry for Nightstar's behavior today. I really was beginning he would give you a straight answer saying yes, he'd agree. But I guess not, hmm?" His voice was steady and silent. Not wanting his clanmates to overhear that he actually agreed with cats from rival Clans. "Hopefully he meant that all of this will stop soon by saying 'we'll see." But Redstripe knew very well that his leader was doing no such thing. He was going to continue. Making it all bigger. Now that there's a new leader, he's going to take advantage. And all I can do and sit back and watch.

Birchstar was expecting a silent walk back to her border. Surprise passed through her when Redstripe slowed down just a tad, closer to the leader now. She perked her ears, intrigued as to what the tomcat was doing. When he began to speak Birchstar could tell he was hoping to keep his words between the two of them. Wanting to respect his want for privacy away from his Clanmates and Houndear, Birchstar herself padded on a little faster, coming to pace right beside the tabby tom. "There's no need for to be sorry. His actions do not speak for what you believe in," Birchstar murmured faintly, eyeing Redstripe with a sincere gaze. "We can only hope that Nightstar will come to terms and stop this. StarClan knows I'm ready for it all to end." She couldn't speak for the rest of her Clan, however. She knew for a fact that Eaglefoot, her own littermate, was more than willing to rush into battle with ShadowClan. Eaglefoot had a huge following in the Clan, a following probably bigger than the cats behind Birchstar's wish to seek out peace. It was hard to think about how divided her Clan was on the inside, but that was something she had to keep to herself. Even if Redstripe wanted peace he was still from a rival Clan. He shouldn't know about WindClan's inner turmoil.

Redstripe was silent for a moment, looking ahead of him once more. The moorland was coming into sight. But it was still fox-lengths away before they officially reached the border. "Well, I'll do all I can to persuade him. The Clan is beginning to... adapt to this long term rivalry." If it goes on any longer WindClan will be hanging on a string. Unprepared for the battle brewing up in Nightstar's mind. That was all he was going to tell her. She didn't need to know everything that he thought about the constant arguing and what was going on in his Clan. Because he sure had some things to say!
"We're here." Autumnbreeze's soft voice sounded. And sure enough they were at the WindClan border. She shot the WindClan cats a glare, slowly padding over to stand next to Redstripe. "Now if you don't mind, we have a hunting mission to attend to." The tortoiseshell wasn't afraid to let these cats know how much she didn't like them at the moment. Despite that fact that Redstripe didn't agree with her on being violent with the WindClan cats, she did. Her apprentice, Pinepaw, suffered a terrible injury just moons ago due to a WindClan attack. All thanks to the WindClan she-cat, Eaglefoot, Birchstar's sister. Back then, she too disagreed with Nightstar's choice in arguing with the moorland cats. But after that patrol she could never forgive them. And Cloudstar cared less that one of his warriors nearly killed an apprentice, of all the cats to go for.
Redstripe could sense the hostility coming from Autumnbreeze and gave her a gentle nudge in her shoulder. "Farewell Birchstar, Houndear. Safe traveling I hope."

As is WindClan, she thought to herself almost sorrowfully. What kind of leader was she if she couldn't even get her own Clan to follow her? Sure, she had a few warriors by her side like Houndear, Hickoryburn, and the medicine cat Bucktail, but that wasn't enough. Even her deputy, Heatherclaw, was on the fence about whether or not to find peace with ShadowClan. Heatherclaw was a skilled and brilliant warrior, and while she agreed with Birchstar on many things, finding peace with ShadowClan was something she had a hard time believing in. Birchstar knew that Heatherclaw would back her leader up no matter what, but Heatherclaw wasn't the type to let her own opinions be overrun.
A sigh slipped from the leader's jaws. "I wish you luck. The least we can do is try." Birchstar just hoped trying was all it would take.
The familiar stretch of the moor exposed itself as the border loomed ever closer. Birchstar took in a deep breath, soothed by the soft scent of heather and gorse. It was refreshing to smell after being in the ShadowClan camp. She turned to look at both Redstripe and Autumnbreeze. Even if the dark tortoiseshell was showing her hostility, Birchstar did her best to ignore it. She simply dipped her head, Houndear following his leader's gesture. "I wish you well on your hunt."
Houndear nodded. "May StarClan grant you fine hunting."
With that the two WindClan cats padded away side-by-side, ready to find the comfort of their own territory once more.
--- We can do a few day timeskip or something if you'd like, unless you had any plans to follow with this. And you're also more than welcome to role-play WindClan cats as side or even main characters or something if you'd like~

(Perhaps there could be another problem along the borders, and it kind of stirs things up between the Clans. Maybe a WindClan cat purposefully crosses the border and gets caught, and that starts a fight. Or we could always think of something else.)

The sun beat down on her pelt as she sat crouched on the marshy ground. Autumnbreeze was leading the evening hunting patrol. It had more cats than what it needed to have, but Nightstar insisted that patrols were increased in number after Birchstar's meeting a few days ago. But that wasn't important now. The lizard before her sat perched on the sun heated rock. Waiting a few more heartbeats before launching herself at the dark colored creature. It scrambled for her, but she managed to snag her claws into its back, killing it within seconds.
As she buried her catch, her black and ginger ears perked up. She was being called. What now? Can't I hunt in peace for once. She thought trotting towards the direction where the voice came from.
The tortoiseshell skidded to a halt at what she saw. All five others of the patrol were gathered around... the remains of a rabbit. Its carcass was just lying there. And WindClan scent was all over it. A low growl rose in the cat closest to her. "We need to do something about this! Its getting out of hand! Nightstar needs to start discussing that ambush so we can deal with this once and for all." Anger flared up in the silver tabby's throat.
"How fresh is it?" Autumnbreeze asked, glancing from cat to cat. "Well?"
"Quiet fresh Autumnbreeze."
The feminine nodded, turning to her apprentice, Pinepaw. "Go back to camp and fetch Redstripe. Tell him to bring reinforcement, just in case. The rest of you, follow me."
Usually Autumnbreeze would have thought it out before rushing into a fight. But Blackstripe was right for once. This was getting pretty wild. And Redstripe promised he was going to do something about this. She didn't care if it was a good something or a bad something. She just wanted it to be over. "We'll follow this trail. The scents are fresh."
