... ↪ Good day everyone. I know, isn't dank warrior just beautiful? I was the Valentine's day rank recently and I got really concerned bc I didn't know about the secret ranks yet. I thought I was special lol However, my birthday is in a week (; wink wonk
... ↪ • Briarwind | Camp entrance {{ w/ Bluedusk, Cloudripple, Pepperpaw It was obvious that the question was directed towards Cloudripple instead of her, but Briarwind still mumbled out something about the trek that walking all the way there would only cause her cough to come back and they'd be doing more time moving than practicing anything else. The warrior only wanted to join to train Pepperpaw, but because the she-cat sure didn't mind being the grumpy burden on others, she was going to stay and complain about it instead of leaving after she'd already agreed to accompany them. Frankly, she just wanted to do something after being cooped up for so long wasting herbs in the cold season. This was the first option, and Briarwind didn't want to dally and lose anymore of hers or Pepperpaw's time to go around finding something else. At least this was somewhat productive in her eyes, she could suppose. Work up her apprentice's stamina for sure and for her it would work out her recently weak and sickened lungs, just hopefully not in a bad way.
• Skullpaw | Camp {{ w/ Braveleaf Hearing Braveleaf wasn't the problem, but Skullpaw was still paused for a few heartbeats without answering, because he was peeking over at Brokenpaw, huddled around the Nursery like he always seemed to be. Sometimes he wondered if the younger apprentice was spending more time with his siblings than he was. Most closely with Moonkit, he might add, so perhaps it didn't count as much as it should. Skullpaw shook his head and returned his bright orange gaze towards his mentor, blinking carefully when he noticed where Braveleaf was looking. The senior apprentice gulped and dropped his paw to the ground, because for the last while whenever he was standing or sitting in place he seemed to just raise the injured paw to his chest naturally. "Fine as I think I'll ever be. I'm not so sure if it's healing right, but, I've got to run on it and make it worse to work up my speedy soul power, right? Sooner I'll become a warrior with a dead foot..."

Highstone gave a subtle grin. "I'm glad to hear it! We could do some hunting or some fighting. I'll go round up a few more cats and we'll head out. With that he turned to see Aquashine. "Up for either some hunting or fighting practice?" He asked, his grin lazy and his tail twitching, "My apprentice has finally decided she's ready to get some real work done." His tone was sarcastic and light hearted, happy to have something to do to help out again.

[[ Sure, Dark, Sandstep wouldn't mind some friends. Lioncrest can just approach him if you want, the dude is just sitting in the sunlight in camp being lazy. xD
I uh... Hey, I don't have any characters open now. Not even little Ruby. I've sort of been planning another tom named Ashbreeze since I made Sandstep, and then maybe another she-cat or something, but I dunno. Ashbreeze will definitely become a thing eventually. When I can find a nice personality for him. ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Bluedusk, Briarwind, Pepperpaw): At first, Cloudripple smiled at the warrior at the apprentice. But then she sort of froze. She had faint memories of hearing of Briarwind being treated for... Some kind of cough? She didn't know the details, but just the thought of sickness of any kind made the she-cat very, very uneasy, almost feeling sick herself. She slowly looked away, generally consumed with her thoughts. The warrior kept relatively quiet, though realized a bit later that it may have came off as rude to have just turned her gaze. Trying to focus on the situation, Cloudripple shoved all worries of pandemic into the back of her mind.
HAWKPAW // (Highstone, Aquashine): "Hey!" The apprentice yelled playfully to her mentor, smiling and looking rather embarrassed, tail twitching back and forth a little. "Oh, and Cloudripple told me that you were practicing catching prey with spears! That sounds super amazing! That's something I would really want to see," she purred, turning to Aquashine and hoping not to put the warrior too on the spot. The apprentice had just remembered and was super excited at the thought of it. In fact, her behaviour had seemed to change drastically from her depressed, moping self from a few days ago, and she maintained this demenor only because she had no idea her brother was also in camp, walking about. She was trying to avoid him, for now, but she was too preoccupied with the two warriors to notice he was even there. She did see Cloudripple, though, ready to participate in whatever the group by the entrance was doing. Highstone was also beside her, and both of those cats made Hawkpaw feel very at ease. Especially with the current events.

Mentions: Highstone-Aquashine, Hawkpaw
Highstone looked quizzically between Hawkpaw and Aquashine. "Is it true? I'd be interested in learning that, if you don't feel too put on the spot to teach it." He was happy to see his apprentice looking joyful and happy and taking an interest once more in clan life. She was such a curious little thing, and she was sure to make a great warrior when the time came about. At that his thoughts turned to her soul training. He hadn't had much chance to talk to the Dreamcatcher as she had been overwhelmed with work lately. It couldn't be done today, but maybe in the future he would try to find some cats to help out with multiple apprentices on the subject. It would be more efficient, and Hawkpaw may be able to benefit more from a cat who understood her power better than he did.

(Just started Monday. It's a bigger university so its very overwhelming, and I occasionally see unwelcome people from my high school years, but its not bad. It just makes me feel lonely. And I stress about homework easily.)
Jadekit followed Brokenpaw's gaze around camp. Her brow furrowed at the names he was giving. She hadn't a clue who they were. Plus, she was pretty certain she didn't have a choice at her ceremony, Rabbitstar did. There was a slight sinking feeling in her belly. Why was it he was so worried about making her an apprentice? Was it that she wasn't from the clan? 'StarClan that must be it.' She had no idea Brokenpaw himself wasn't clanborn either. Nor did she know of her appearance. There was no puddles in camp with the snow everywhere. Tumblepaw told her it would soon melt, however. "I... I don't know." Jadekit finally said. THUNDERFANG // (Silvernight, Brokenpaw, Jadekit): Swearing silently to himself, the tom almost ran towards the den entrance upon hearing Silvernight's voice. He had no idea they had been outside of the den, he was too busy thinking. He emerged, the sudden exertion making him a bit dizzy, but he held himself up and tried to appear alright. "Sorry," he meowed at the she-cat, a bit out of breath. "I was a little lost in thought, I didn't know you guys were out here waiting." Before he could suggest moving along, the tom looked down to say hello to Brokenpaw, but saw... Brokenpaw and a small, unfortunately marred kit. The self control from holding back a gasp of exasperation almost made him dizzy again. This must have been Jadekit, the small kit that was found pretty much mauled to death a few moons back. He had actually never seen her until now. He felt an overwhelming amount of sympathy for the tiny thing. The future was probably going to be filled with torment for her. At least she seemed to find a friend in Silvernight's son. Looking at the kit and the apprentice, Thunderfang finally found his words, deep voice rumbling, but soothing as he spoke. "Ah, Brokenpaw. It's a pleasure to formally meet you. Your mother has said lots about you." He let out a small laugh, knowing he probably wouldn't respond with something happy, so he went on. "And who's your friend? You must be... Jadekit, if I remember hearing correctly? It's a pleasure to meet you, too, little one. My name is Thunderfang." He tried to be as gentle as possible when speaking to she she-kit, because she already seemed to look extremely shy. --Silvernight backed out as Thunderfang rushed, to the best of his abilities, out the mouth of the den. "Hmm," she replied noncommittally, still trying not to sound as annoyed as she felt. She recognized he was injured, but any hints of a weakness tended to bother her. She didn't think it excused much, and it was even harder to tolerate when it affected her directly. She watched Thunderfang's first interaction with Brokenpaw, her tailtip lashing faintly while the rest of her was perfectly still. Silvernight didn't even notice Jadekit until the older tom acknowledged her, and her expression barely changed - only imperceptibly softening - as she took in the she-kit's disfigurement.
--Brokenpaw was just about to mew an encouraging reply when Thunderfang came out of the den. He straightened up and focused on the tom briefly, the only indication of his ongoing conversation with Jadekit being the direction one of his ears was swiveled. He gave a brief nod at Thunderfang's first words to him before turning his attention back to the kit with a fond smile.

[[ So I totally ended up getting inspired and created not only Ashbreeze, but a she-cat named Smallshade, too. And because I can, I also sorta made her Ruby's sister somewhere along the line, possibly and probably a half sister. So the weirdo has a relative in the clan. Not entirely sure why I thought that was a good idea. But if Eris let's it happen, then sure. ]]
HAWKPAW // (Highstone, Aquashine): Sitting down, her tail still twitching in excitement, she blurted out before Aquashine could speak. "Yeah, Cloudripple got to see her awesome weapons! She made them herself!" The apprentice realized, again, that she may have been making her feel nervous or embarrassed, so she quickly shut her mouth before anything else came flowing out of it without any forethought.

((I have Ridgefall, Mousekit, and Sootpaw free.))
Dawnflame couldnt help but feel both relieved and a bit....annoyed at the news that Honeysong would go look for a medicine cat. Of course, she would be ecstatic to go back to her own duties and not have the constant stress of being a sad excuse of a medicine cat but she had been trying her best! Tumblepaw was learning fairly well for who his mentor was. But she knew she was being ridiculous. The clan deserved a real medicine cat.
"Have you thought about taking Whitedeer? She hasn't been the same since Reedheart and Bluedusk became mates....her soul color still hasn't changed back." the Dreamcatcher sighed as she began to gather two bundles of burnet, chamomile, and lamb ear for the deputy and whoever she decided to take.
--
Braveleaf frowned at his apprentice but rose anyway. It was true. Dawnflame had tried her best but Skullpaws foot just didnt heal right. He would probably have a limp for the rest of his life. But injuries were expected in the harsh life they led and, as long as he could still be a warrior, Skullpaw would be fine. "I suppose so." Braveleaf mewed with a nod. "Why dont we go outside of the camp to practice so you wont run into anyone?" With that, the older tom led the way out of camp with a flick of his tail for Skullpaw to follow him.
--
Trinket was just as surprised to see the other she-cat hidden in the grass and whipped around to face her dropping the half frozen fish. She thought it was one of the weird "clan" cats trying to run her off again and steal her prey. Her claws unsheathed. It was her fish. Hers! But after a moment, she recognized the other she-cat. They had spoken before but she never got her name.
As she was about to answer, she heard a voice and looked toward it to see the head of a bird peeking up at her. Her initial reaction was to pounce on it and secure herself something else to eat besides fish but something stopped her. That bird looked familiar. "Weird bird cat? Are you here too?" the pink feline asked, glancing over at the nervous black she-cat who had been resting in the grass. She was skittish so Trinket wasn't sure if she would run away from another loner or not.
--
((I dont actually have plans for this patrol, so unless someone wants to have something happen, we can time skip them to the end whenever you want.))
"Try to relax, this should be an easy patrol." Bluedusk teased Briarwind at her complaining. She glanced back at Pepperpaw, who was silently trailing behind her mentor as they walked. She was usually like this with older cats but Pepperpaw had quite a mouth among cats her own age. Perhaps she took after her mentor in that way. The blue-gray cat looked towards Cloudripple with a thoughtful gleam in her eyes. "Cloudripple, have you considered teaching an apprentice? I know Icewings kits are going to be apprenticed soon, along with Jadekit and Moonkit. You could be given one, right?" Cloudripple was a good warrior. She was almost certain she would be getting one of the kits.

A voice called from the grass, "My name is Raven." And at last a black form revealed itself. She, too, remembered the hairless one. How could she not? That freaky stuff was hard to forget. But a warm smile was given to Trinket. "How are you?" As if asking as well, Nyra, the bird, squawked at the other rogue.

Jadekit's solidary gaze flickered between Brokenpaw and Thunderfang. Understanding crossed it. They were going somewhere! "Can I come too??" She gave a small bounce. It seemed unlikely the warrior would say yes, but she was so close to being an apprentice! Soon they would have no excuse not to take her with them, so why not go ahead and let her now? With a warrior and apprentice with her, nothing bad could happen. Right? Her eye turned to Brokenpaw expectantly, as if silently begging him to help convince the other tom.

... ↪ • Asterwing | Camp > Medicine Cat's Den {{ requesting Dancingwillow This isn't the first time Asterwing had tried poking her head into the Medicine Cat's den, and it wouldn't be her last if she got kicked out again. All she wanted was to visit Dancingwillow—the mentor she'd grown to love and cherish despite her absent-mind. However, there were too many cats in the den last time she checked. Yet she saw Meadowlark poking around outside and wandering around camp now, so that had to mean there was room. She and Jayshadow had been the two most injured, but unlike the strong aforementioned she-cat, the tom was still chilling out in the den—surely just avoiding his duties by now—when Asterwing carefully padded inside. Her soulmate and partial mentor hooted at her, and with the chill going down her spine she shook her head at him and continued past, asking for Dancingwillow.
• Patcheye | Camp > Candle Cove {{ requesting Shadowfang The other day when Redwhisper got all mad and crazed, Patcheye had seen something like that before. He'd watched the demons take over plenty of the other cats he used to know across his journey on land and sea. The bi-colored tom knew that the she-cat would just need to die, but everyone was already blindly attacking her and getting touched with her disease. He had been too far, near the very cliffs by the waterfall where he always was. It was his favorite spot to overlook the Sea of Ghosts. The noise caused him not to notice until it was too late anyhow to contribute. As long as Skullpaw was okay, he was fine, too.
A couple days had passed since then, and now he was watching his son with Braveleaf. He'd turned his head to observe him just a moment too late and didn't catch that Skullpaw had glanced over at him. Now he was just led to believe he was being ignored by the one thing that kept him around. They hardly talked now that he was constantly out training with his mentor-slash-seemingly second father, Braveleaf. Patcheye scoffed and rose his bones and trailed the edges of camp by the cliffside until he reached the ledge that led to Candle Cove from the side of the waterfall where he'd been sitting. It was time he paid Shadowfang another visit with news.

"Trinket. And I'm doing as well as can be expected in a harsh cold-season like this." the hairless she-cat mewed back politely. "And yourself....and your...bird?" She mewed, eyeing the dark-feathered bird warily. She had been told it was a companion but she couldn't help but distrust it. Having been so caught up squinting at the bird, she had forgotten their other companion. "Oh! Raven, this is....huh. I never got your name either, little mouse." the loner mused out loud with a playful gleam in her pale blue eyes.

Dawnflame thought about it for a moment as she finished putting the travel herbs together, her ears flicking in thought. "I believe I saw her somewhere around the fresh-kill pile a little while ago but I cant be sure." the Dreamcatcher told her with an uncertain shrug. Whitedeer had been pretty unpredictable since her soul color reverted to black. Dawnflame really hoped this trip would be good for her. "May StarClan guide your paws, Honeysong. I hope you and Whitedeer return to us some day." the ginger and cat cat mewed earnestly with a touch of worry in her voice, dipping her head low in respect for the soon to be former deputy.

Dawnflame prodded at the herbs thoughtfully for a moment before nodding. Herbs were pretty tight at the moment but she was certain this would hold them over until they could stop to hunt. "Yes, these should be enough for you two." the Dreamcatcher told her, glancing back at the herb store. She should try to find some herbs soon but she wasn't expecting much at this point in the season. "Excuse me, Honeysong. I have some duties to attend too. I'll leave these here for you." She dipped her head once more and slipped out of the den and towards the camp entrance, hoping she would find something to help restock her herb stores.
