--Brokenpaw nearly jumped out of his fur as he was pulled from his thoughts by a kit's squeaked greeting. His gaze landed on her, wide eyes widening further at her appearance before he had a chance to control himself. With an embarrassed shake, he rumbled out a cautious "Hello," trying to match the she-kit's apparent enthusiasm. Unhappiness weighed on him due to his current situation, but he eyed the young one curiously regardless. Brokenpaw decided his enthusiasm wasn't totally falsified - he loved kits, and maybe his interaction with Jadekit was going to be what would to make the upcoming adventure with Silvernight and Thunderfang bearable. "How are you?" he continued before she could get another word in, crouching slightly to be at Jadekit's level as he waited for a response.
{{Hello, Eris! Are you feeling better?}}

A smile erupted from Jadekit's half-face lips. She gave a small, happy giggle. Whomever this tom was, he didn't act weird like the other ones. "I'm ok!" She happily replied. "You're an apprentice, right? I'll be one soon!" Over the past few days, Jadekit learned a lot more about the clan, and about her future here. She would become an apprentice and learn to be a warrior. There was murmuring from the gray cat some called Rabbitstar, who had concerns about making her train. Tumblepaw had insisted it would be fine, and later explained what it meant to be a warrior as well as the warrior code.

{{Oh, I can see school being bothersome. I hope it's not negatively impacting you too much though? Especially since it's probably started fairly recently - I just started Thursday, personally, so that's where the assumption comes from}}
--Brokenpaw sat up, puffing out his chest slightly as she named his Clan rank. "I am," he responded confidently before hunkering back down into a crouched position. "Soon, eh? Who do you want to be your mentor?" He looked around the camp, wondering if the she-kit had been exposed to anyone enough to really give an answer. His gaze landed on her again after a short while, and the same misgivings Rabbitstar had had flitted through his mind. Brokenpaw pushed them away quickly, though - it was not his decision, and he would never crush a kit's dream if he could help it. "Sandstep seems strong," he suggested, throwing out a name in case the she-kit were floundering. "Maybe Daisyfoot, if you'd prefer a she-cat."

(Just started Monday. It's a bigger university so its very overwhelming, and I occasionally see unwelcome people from my high school years, but its not bad. It just makes me feel lonely. And I stress about homework easily.)
Jadekit followed Brokenpaw's gaze around camp. Her brow furrowed at the names he was giving. She hadn't a clue who they were. Plus, she was pretty certain she didn't have a choice at her ceremony, Rabbitstar did. There was a slight sinking feeling in her belly. Why was it he was so worried about making her an apprentice? Was it that she wasn't from the clan? 'StarClan that must be it.' She had no idea Brokenpaw himself wasn't clanborn either. Nor did she know of her appearance. There was no puddles in camp with the snow everywhere. Tumblepaw told her it would soon melt, however. "I... I don't know." Jadekit finally said.

Pepperpaw reluctantly let Briarwind nudge her toward the camp entrance and the patrol there. She jerkily dipped her head towards the warriors in a respectful greeting before dropping behind the older she-cat and kneading her paws into the snow. It was too early for her to social. Bluedusk smiled at the apprentice but left her to her own devices before turning to the other warriors.
"Briarwind, its good to see you out and about." the blue-gray cat mewed with a smile before taking the lead, waving for the others to follow her. The sun was starting to higher in the sky, the snow shimmering under its light. "Cloudripple, I think we should go towards the Storm Falls and Jade Mountains. How does that sound?"
--
"Skullpaw, morning!" the golden tom mewed in greeting as his apprentice approached. It felt odd to him that Skullpaw was as big as him now....Braveleaf could remember his ceremony and how small he had bee at the time. It seemed so long ago. "How is the paw feeling today? Good enough for a bit more soul power training?" It still looked like the younger tom was favoring it a bit and his mentor didn't want to make it work by pushing him too hard. But time was of the essence. At this rate, Skullpaw would be the oldest apprentice in TempestClan history.

Honeysong looks around for Rabbitstar, her green eyes wide, and unblinking. She'd been thinking about it for some time, and decided it was time to act. With the new sickness that's entered their camp, they need help, and fast.

Rabbitstar still remained in his den, lost in thought. He had called Whitedeer in there moments previously, and she never appeared. It left a windy coldness within him where shame kept growing. With everything going on in the clan, for some reason, subconsciously, he felt making amends with his daughter would mean making amends with the clan. He was ripped from his thinking when he noticed Honeysong looking for him. "Come on in."

Honeysong dips her head. "...Rabbitstar...I was thinking maybe I should step down from being deputy. I'd like to travel out of our territory to look for other clans, hopefully making alliances to help us through the winter. We may need all the help we can get if we're going to fight of this new sickness..." she meows hesitantly.

Rabbitstar's own head found itself bowing. His eyes felt stuck open, shocked. Honeysong wasn't wrong, the clan would need help. However, the clan would only hate him more if he let this happen. No medicine cat, no deputy--they would riot. 'StarClan, I've screwed up so damn much...'finally, a sigh escaped his worried lips. "I understand your position, Honeysong. See Dawnflame and Tumblepaw for some traveling herbs and provisions. I'll make the announcement when you have left..."

Honeysong dips her head, and turns to leave, before pausing. "You're a wonderful leader, Rabbitstar. Please don't blame yourself for the loss of Fennelfur. It wasn't your fault. His death could've happened at any time. I also know that you'll pick a suitable new deputy. Just believe in yourself like you used to..."
(What's happened to Whitedeer, by the way?)

(She was in love with Reedheart and he fell for Bluedusk, and it hurt her so bad he soul turned black and now she's horribly depressed.)
Honeysong's words deeply moved the leader. He knew it wasn't just political reasons that he chose Honeysong in the first place; she was smart, kind, and genuine. He would miss her. It was absolutely absurd that she was leaving in the tail end of winter, but he could think of no other strong cat to leave for help. "Thank you, Honeysong. Please be safe." As she turned to leave, Rabbitstar himself turned away to look at the back wall of his den. As if he didn't have enough to fret over, now a new deputy had to be chosen. He had only a few hours before the next moonhigh as well. A heavy sigh released itself. 'Might as well disappoint the clan again and not pick it on time...' He would find it hard to take his former deputy's words to heart.

(Maybe she could go with Honeysong?)
Honeysong leaves, frowning a little. She really didn't want to leave, but she knew they needed to do something. She heads off to find Dawnflame and Tumblepaw, sighing softly to herself. Maybe she should ask if she could bring a travelling companion just before she leaves. That way, she'd have someone to watch her back, and it would be easier too with hunting, and protecting each other. One thing she learnt from her mother was that you should never travel alone. Reaching the den, she calls out. "Dawnflame! Tumblepaw!"

((That actually solves a problem the mods were having XD Good idea, Pearl.)) ((No clue, Eris. :/ ))
Dawnflame backed out of the herb store with a bundle of leaves in her mouth, spinning to see who had come calling. Her tense shoulders relaxed when she saw the deputy and set set the bundle of leaves off to the side to wave her in. Luckily, no one was in the den at the moment and the exhausted faux medicine cat had been trying to check her supplies for the rest of leaf-bare. They were running low on everything but they just might be able to make it. "Honeysong, to what do I owe the pleasure?", the Dreamcatcher asked with a rasp to her voice. The once healthy she-cat looked ragged and tired and thin from the harsh season and her new duties.

Highstone returned from his hunt, carrying a scrawny mouse. It really was the tail of leaf-bare, and he looked forward to feeling sunlight once again racing across his pelt. He placed the thing down on the pile, and turned to glimpse Honeysong and Dawnflame in discussion. He shook his head, the iron taste had finally subsided, and while he was not totally forgetful of the thing they were soon to encounter, he felt relieved that it was no longer so near to him. With that his thoughts turned to his young apprentice. It had been far too many days since he last took her out.
Meadowlark found herself back, feeling a bit off-skelter, but mostly herself, her scars thick and healing along her face and pelt. She wandered meagerly about camp before settling on the stones. They warmed her blood as it coursed through her body, and she was greatful there was such a thing inside the camp walls.

(Cool. Maybe Dawnflame could suggest Whitedeer, saying a change of scenery might be good for the heartbroken she-cat...?)
Honeysong looks sad at the sight of Dawnflame's appearance. "Dawnflame, I need travelling herbs. I'm going to leave to find some help. We're running out of herbs, and don't have a fully fledged medicine cat. I have Rabbitstar's approval. I'm also looking for a companion to join me. Do you have an idea on who might be good?" she asks with a gentle smile.

Whitedeer hovered at the very edge of the cliff, looking downwards into the swirling mass of gray water beneath. Everything about leaf-bare was brutally gray. Even white was just a lighter shade of gray. She bore her sad gaze into the water harshly. Perhaps being so close gave her morbid fascination about what would happen if she threw herself down...

(( Hello, my friends <3 I would like to formally apologize for not being on since quite a few days ago (two weeks, I believe). Most of it was because I suddenly couldn't log in to the forums- I kept getting an error and couldn't post on anything. In time, after trying everything I knew, I emailed proboards, and they took a while to get back to me. They guessed that I was logged on to too many computers and devices on various different browsers (3 computers with both Firefox and Chrome, total of 7 different accounts, not to mention logging on on phones. I never log out because they were all trusted devices (my father works in something related to computer engineering so he owns a lot of devices and computers.)) Anyway, I was advised to clear the cookies on ALL of the devices and accounts, and that took a while, as I had logged on at my grandparents' house as well. After clearing everything and trying to log on again, it did work, and that was last Tuesday. However, I've started Senior High School, and so far, life has been hectic. I got into a pretty good school, so there's a lot of schoolwork, and I get home at six every day (kind of a long commute, really. I get off at 5), and there's so much homework that, combined with the time dinner and school work takes me, it is around 9:00 when I finally finish everything. By then, I'm usually much too tired for the forums, or even FB. I'm only giving myself a break today because it's my birthday XD I'd like to apologize again for poofing so suddenly, because I was pretty blockheaded and I forgot I had Dream's tumblr so I could inform her of my situation. Especially with such an important character like Tumble. (I hope you guys godmodded him while I was away and I didn't prolong any plot points.) Either way, I'm back for good now, and although I might not be able to post often (maybe once every 2 days or so), I will try my best to stay with Tempest, as I really love this place and all the charries that i have. Especially Tawny x Kestrel and Tumble. cx ))

[[ Sorry for the small break everyone, but I'm back. I forgive you, Moonwing, but only because of this: ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Bluedusk): Giving a slight nod, the warrior said, "Sure, that sounds like a great idea. I cant remember going over there since I was an apprentice." She gave a small, reminiscent sigh and then stretched out her limbs in the bright sun, suddenly feeling abnormally at ease, but excited. Almost like her apprentice self she had just mentioned.
THUNDERFANG // (Silvernight, Brokenpaw, Jadekit): Swearing silently to himself, the tom almost ran towards the den entrance upon hearing Silvernight's voice. He had no idea they had been outside of the den, he was too busy thinking. He emerged, the sudden exertion making him a bit dizzy, but he held himself up and tried to appear alright. "Sorry," he meowed at the she-cat, a bit out of breath. "I was a little lost in thought, I didn't know you guys were out here waiting." Before he could suggest moving along, the tom looked down to say hello to Brokenpaw, but saw... Brokenpaw and a small, unfortunately marred kit. The self control from holding back a gasp of exasperation almost made him dizzy again. This must have been Jadekit, the small kit that was found pretty much mauled to death a few moons back. He had actually never seen her until now. He felt an overwhelming amount of sympathy for the tiny thing. The future was probably going to be filled with torment for her. At least she seemed to find a friend in Silvernight's son. Looking at the kit and the apprentice, Thunderfang finally found his words, deep voice rumbling, but soothing as he spoke. "Ah, Brokenpaw. It's a pleasure to formally meet you. Your mother has said lots about you." He let out a small laugh, knowing he probably wouldn't respond with something happy, so he went on. "And who's your friend? You must be... Jadekit, if I remember hearing correctly? It's a pleasure to meet you, too, little one. My name is Thunderfang." He tried to be as gentle as possible when speaking to she she-kit, because she already seemed to look extremely shy.
SANDSTEP // (Camp, Open): The tom stopped cleaning himself and found a nice spot to lay in the sun. Being a Yellow Soul, he felt more at peace and relaxed in it's warm touch. He glanced around camp, just observing. Honeysong was headed to Dawnflame and Tumblepaw's, Highstone had come back from a hunt, Bluedusk and Cloudripple looked to be going on an outting, and Thunderfang was trying to get along with his crush's kid. The randomness of the events made him smile. He loved clan life, and wouldn't give it up for anything.
HAWKPAW // (Highstone): Escaping from her thoughts, Hawkpaw was her mentor entering camp. Instead of sitting around like her brother did, the apprentice pondered the idea of getting up and going out, like her sister. She was hoping he would take advantage of the nice weather and take her to hunt or something, so she got up, quickly stretched, then padded her way over to him. She felt a bit better as soon as she started to get closer to him; Hawkpaw really relied on him for comfort and strength in a lot of instances. "Good morning, Highstone," she called out to him, almost to where he was. "I'm feeling very motivated to get something done today," she reported with a small smile.
