I also want to rave again that I'm SO glad we live in the timeline that Wisteriarush is a healer!! I love that a Puddlefrost line gets to be a healer, esp carrying heterochromia <3

Other than Volcanoleaf, who is still grieving, the entire Clan is up and kicking! And no kits or apprentices either, only Duststem as an elder doesn't patrol.

Okay so. Bitestar was assassinated by a BounceClan warrior, who took all his lives. But like, I don't know if that's realistic? Really, all his lives? And no one else is even hurt? Almost all our leaders have been taken this way and I don't know if I'm a fan... Reversing a leader ceremony is kind of hard though? I'm gonna try, but if it takes more than 5 mins I'll let it stand.
Okay, it's actually super easy haha. I just had to find him, make him not dead, then make Bushswipe deputy again, and then erase everyone that was grieving him. I had a little trouble finding leader's lives but found them in the Clan details page; he now only has six lives, imma say the assassin managed to snag three before they were chased off. (AHHH I forgot to make Icespot not deputy, she was who Bushstar chose. And he still has his leader ceremony saved? I hope that won't cause issues later?? Oh it's because demoting him didn't stick. Hmmmmm. Note to self: you also have to change the leader and deputy on the Clan details page too. Yep, I caught them all. HA)

Here's our bordering Clans and their stats! I guess we decided to pick a war with the gracious Clan... though let's be real, with our "antagonize all" policy at the start of running this Clan, IvyClan def was the "villains" of the forest. Also GardeniaClan being proud is a load of mousedung, they weren't so proud as to ask us for herbs for like, thirty moons straight that one time!! We are max friendship with MouseClan, as expected, neutral with GardeniaClan and hate the other two. Which is right for how I'm playing it! Our Clan is also "stoic" like MouseClan! Makes sense that we'd both be good friends.
Billowbush got a mangled tail from an ambush. Let's say it was BounceClan. We kill BounceClan kits this moon... yeah its war.

We get a lot of herbs this moon, despite it being the middle of leafbare. All three healers get at least two herbs (Wisteriarush's got three).
We also face another ambush with no injuries, and antagonize a kittypet tresspasser.

AYO it's still moon 3 of leaf-bare, but all cats recover from their illness and injuries! GOOD!
SANDGORSE HAVE KITS!! They find two and adopt them: Hawkkit and Flamekit.
Rindlelaurel thought she would have a large litter but only had three: Snakekit, Strikekit and Whisperkit.
I put out lots of pairs to get relationships up this moon. I need to remember to randomly mediate pairs too, we haven't had a mediator in a long, long time.

Scorchshade announces she's expecting! Good, a new generation from these young cats rises! We do have a pretty big age gap in the Clan: we have a handful in their 70's, then Mountainprickle is 40 and the rest are mostly 30-22 from that kit boom.

I press proceed on a storm patrol but Rindlelaurel said NOPE and they didn't even try. Good for them. I probably should keep track of queens that have kits in the nursery but are allowed to patrol, but I usually just click random for time's sake.
We've antagonized kittypets for the last three moons. Smh.

Loudstripe announces they're expecting kits! They feel okay leaving Wisteriarush and Burdockbreak to manage the healer's den, and neither of them are getting any younger. They are both the only cats over 100 moons, no one else is even close.
Oh no! Duststem drowned this moon trying to mediate the war with BoughClan. RIP king. I will be so happy if Boulderkit chooses to be a mediator apprentice in his memory. Seriously.

Graypaw. Graypaw is given to Sunnyeagle, and immediately gets his eye scratched by a hare. Sunnyeagle is supposedly a good teacher, I don't want to say she was negligent but like. Sabotage?

--Same-sex kits has been turned to "pregnancy ignores biology" toggle, so male cats can carry kits even in heterosexual couples, as well as same-sex can breed. I have this OFF for now, but I might turn it on mid-way through to see what happens.
Same sex-adoption increase is ON though.
Unknown second parent is ON; I tend to like this rule, because I find the Clan hardly has any kits unless I play mediator-matchmaker and I'm not a fan of that.

Welcome to CoyoteClan! I decided to use the new background: forest lake territory! It's a little busier than some of the backgrounds, but it's cool. It also works out well, because I'm most familiar with forest patrols (and prey difficulty is in the middle for forest), so it will set a good standard for the other territory types.


Here's my cats and look!!! UI changes!! Changing the sort filter is so, so nice. And "choose group to view" SEEMS like a weird thing to implement, but it will be EPIC for modders!!! I'm pretty sure people could choose to have their neighboring Clans as dropdowns for mods that track multiple Clans at once, which is a HUGE QoL update.
When I was first clicking around I didn't know where dark forest was, but I figured it out! "Show dead" is a toggle, and then you can click "choose group to view" to see DF and outsiders.

Nutrition status is at the bottom of the character page. I'm scared that if they're sick, with apprentices, permanent condition + nutrition that it might not all fit...... If we get any new mechanics the bio page might need a rework oop
But here's our leader, Stormstar (nee Stormpeak) who is wise and a great teacher. I think he'll do well.


We have a lot of good teacher traits in the Clan, including the deputy Gladerush, who has a white spot pattern that I don't know if I've ever seen before. Looks cool! There are one new white-spot pattern added in the update: blazemask and tears, both sound like face spots. There's also a "freckled" tortie pattern added in the update.


I did make my healer an elder, so hopefully she survives long enough to train her apprentice. I just. couldn't help myself when there was a Haven- prefix cat with Vengeful and Prophecy seeker like!! yeah that's a medicine cat alright.


I made our one apprentice a healer's apprentice because yeah. If Havenfur was like, barely an elder I might have waited, but 145 is pretty old not to have an apprentice. So here's Auburnpaw, the lonesome but quick witted healer's apprentice.


Our oldest warrior, Breezepatch. And I'm pretty certain I've never seen this whitepatch before! It's called "HAWKBLAZE", probably after an OC like some of them are. He's fierce and the Clan's best fighter.


Also they slightly changed the UI for the favorite icon. It has a border now. I was getting to the data directory to see what his whitepatch design was called.


Flintchaser is also one of our senior warriors. Not much to say about him. I wanted a "kind" trait cat for patrols, so here's the loving + formidable fighter Flintchaser.


I love the name Sunnybeak. -beak is hard to make sound good but it fits with a -y prefix. And yeah, my Clan is like 90% toms, I took all the she-cats there were on the recruitment page (only three). His whitepatch is named "BUB" and his scar is "CATBITE" (there's a new CATBITE2 scar that I'm looking forward to finding! I wonder if it isn't the same thing but on the hind leg.


Dewfern is the Clan's only she-cat warrior. Her foot scar is FROSTSOCK, which I've seen many times before. I think the amber eye color is very pretty. She also has the RIGHTEAR whitepatch which. I love the one ear patches they are ADORABLE. (Woodcloud of IvyClan rocks that pattern with her dark ginger fur)


Our cats are generally pretty old. Tinyraven is our youngest warrior at 53 moons old.


And our last cat is Burdockkit! There was only one kit and one apprentice in the recruitment page, and I took them both.

We get an reminder of how much prey will be used the next moon, as well as our current prey pile. This is helpful, to remind you if you need to send out more hunting patrols.


OF COURSE the first meddy cat patrol is a queen + kits. I'd love to roll a positive outcome for this one.

Okay, so hunting patrols. This was an old patrol, and we get a "small amount" of prey. This ends up being 8 units (going from 60->68)
The next patrol fails a lizard catch and brings home "a very small amount" of prey. This being 4 units (68->72)

Time to moon skip! And then feed our cats and look at the fresh kill pile! And see how low the belly goes from 100 nutrition on all of them.


First, Nice our one molly is expecting already! But also, you can access the fresh-kill pile from the event page OR click on the "clearing" button in camp (like you can click the healer's den label)


This is what the fresh-kill pile looks like! I really do like the visual. I know it's supposed to be non-graphic mice patterned, though it does look like a pile of leaves. My "feed all hungry" is greyed out, but it took prey. The pile is currently at 61 this moon when we ended at 72 last moon (with a requirement of 29.5, but that wasn't fully taken either?)
Our current requirement is 30.

AH it's because we caught some passively, like healers can passively collect herbs each moon. So we caught 12 extra on patrol, and 18 off screen, and then ate 29, leaving us at 61.
If any cats were in the "hungry" screen, I think you can hover to see their belly status. You can't hover over "satisfied" though.
Let's peep the "Tactic" menu while I'm here! I kinda looked it over.

So this is what the feeding tactic menu(pun intended) looks like. The right side tells how much prey is needed: 1.5 for elders and apprentices, 2 for medicine cats and mediators, and 3 for adults. queens and pregnant cats need 4. I think if the queen is nursing kits, it's a flat 4 for any litter size under 3 moons, then maybe 4+0.5 per kit from 3-6 moons? Or maybe because Clangen doesn't count a queen as nursing after she's "healed" (usually at that three moon marker, when they can patrol again) that the queen reverts back to an adult's ration of 3 and each kit is a flat 0.5. I don't think it very much matters in Clans that are big enough to take care of queens.

The other side is the feeding tactic aka who is fed first if there's not enough prey.
By-status: I think this means elders/queens first? And then by age? It might mean leader first, though. Unclear.
Younger first: reverse age order.
Less nutrition first: hungriest cats are fed, then by status. Seems like "by status" is very much the default.
Hunter first: cats with any hunter traits are fed first, then by status. Probably a good thing during a famine, so that they can be strong enough to bring back more prey.
sick/injured first: as it sounds. Any cat in the healer's den is fed first, then defaults to status.
High EXP first: hidden by the scroll. But cats are fed in order of most EXP points to least. With the new cat list filters, you can filter by EXP points to know how this will work.

There's also an important toggle: ration prey.
"Healthy warriors only eat half the prey they need, even if there is enough"
I think this would be useful if you are expecting there to be big shortages soon, like around leaf-bare. It keeps your warriors on their paws so they don't starve to death, but maybe is just enough to cut the requirements to where every cat can keep being half-fed.


This is the info hover on the prey screen btw. Food is thrown away after 4 moons of not eating it, so you can't stockpile forever. I don't think it throws away the whole pile every 4 moons, I think it tracks it in a stack and eats from old->new and anything left in the old bins is tossed.
So ideally, you'd catch slightly more than needed each moon (between 1.25x and 1.5x the needed amount) but not more than 2x (and even 1.5x is too much if you have three very successful moons in a row). Noted.

Also all my cats are at 100(stuffed), so it looks like if you have enough prey, it automatically feeds everyone if there's enough and we aren't rationing prey. Sounds good. I might click the ration prey button to see how much belly is lost for each day rationing, and then if we do have a famine, how much belly is lost if a cat isn't allowed to eat at all for a moon. I don't know if they'll instantly go to starving or if they can go a moon from 100 belly to 50 then to starving. That's why I'm taking this Clan to experiment!

Patrol time. I have enough prey for two moons, currently. And if I can assume we're going to get 15-20 by moon skip, I'll send one patrol and see if I can hit 10 (a regular or medium catch? by inference from the small and tiny catches last moon) which should be enough.

I send three warriors on a border patrol (they meet FuzzClan and relationships improve)
And then Stormstar takes a solo hunting patrol. I don't usually do solo patrols, so most of the rarer results I've never seen before!

We were at 69 before this patrol, and are now at 81.8! net gain: 12.8 for a "Huge catch!"

Almost triple the necessary amount, which seems to be exactly where you want to be without being wasteful.


Checking the relationship tab for new events. I don't think there was anything added content wise? It mentioned content updates for patrols, war events and "weights and mates" which idk what that is either. I haven't ever seen this relationship pip before though!

Our healer elder is angry at babies. And poor Stormstar's gift wasn't well received. RIP.
Also relationships: Everyone really likes Sunnybeak, he's a lot of cats' favorite cat.
Breezepatch really dislikes Dewfern? And Gladerush has 35% dislike for BURDOCKKIT! He's a baby!!! Tinyraven and Flintchaser both think Burdockkit is the best tho, and Auburnpaw is still his bestie despite being an apprentice before he was.


Oh that's slightly new wording! Usually it's either "think she'll have a small/big litter" or "doesn't know" but "hope" is so much more active and cuter!!
Also good, Burdockpaw gets to be apprenticed to a cat that likes him a lot.
Sunnybeak got a romantic pip towards Breezepatch... the "trips and thinks it was cute" one

AW both Tinyraven and Burdockpaw's statuses are "Saw a twoleg kit playing with a dog" that must have been their first patrol <3

The status of the fresh-kill pile is "the fresh-kill pile is overflowing and the Clan can feast!" which is good, but is that because it's double the necessary amount? or does anything over the daily use trigger that? Is there a status for overfull? Hmmm

Also unlike the medicine cat log, which only shows the current moon, the fresh-kill log looks like it stays for previous moons? At least last moon's patrols are there... and wait it's top down. The 8 and 4 from moon 0 are at the top, then last moon's 18 from moon skip, and 8 + 12.8 from patrol, then the 19 from this moon's skip is at the very bottom. I... don't like that. It should be oldest at bottom at least, especially because there's no distinction for which moon is which other than the prey consumed at each skip being the logical book-end.


AGAINN????? A fail, though. They're already dead :/ Which... kinda works out, we already have two queens.

All other patrols were standard. We caught a +6 lizard.

Her two kits are Elmkit and Runnelkit, a tom and she-cat.

Okay, I'm going to go a little faster now. Mostly just keep track of the prey and any new things I find, but no other notes. This isn't a lore playthrough after all, just for mechanics mostly.
I did catch a rabbit which said it was a "medium amount" of prey, but that ended up being like? over 20 units?? 21.6. Which was so much more than Stormstar's "Huge" 12.8.... very variable. Also we caught 24 between moon skips.

and yeah, the log is new at the bottom. I really dislike this. We'll see if it only keeps the log up to 4 moons, because that would make sense with how the mechanic works. Logically, the game should dump data after holding it for four moons, as that's the oldest it would check.

Also I'm a little sad. I used to use hunting patrols as training patrols to slow apprentices down a little bit and for variation, but now I don't want to really oversaturate the fresh-kill pile, because I'm pretty sure there are Bad Events that can trigger if the pile is way overfull.
I decided not to hunt at all this moon. We have nearly triple our intake rn.

Havenfur fell in a river and is now spluttering though. SMH I guess she isn't allowed to retire though.

This kit is already trouble. The one molly of Brandywinebeetle's litter. I still love that name. So kittypet. Also -beetle as a suffix is lit.

Also I don't know that I've ever seen "skittish" as a trait. I think it turns into "nervous" but I guess I don't look at kit traits very often.

Also Brandywinebeetle has the best statuses tbh. Very good.

I'm not intentionally going to ruin the fresh-kill pile for Drama, because leaf-bare will probably do that for me, but so far, no troubles. had another +20 patrol (19.2, but close enough). Surprisingly, it was one that "thought about sneaking fresh-kill while on patrol" but they passed the check and continued hunting without breaking the code.

Bruh all the new apprentices are terrors. Burdockpaw seen taking food from twolegs (why babe, we have PLENTY??), Molepaw met up with a BurrClan cat, and Elmkit gets a runny nose but also a maple leaf. Which now we can check the new button!!


I can't believe it's under the "dangerous" category Like I know it's permanent, but yes, taking this kitten's leaf is on the same level as exile and MURDER yes. I won't push it because. He's a kit and Deserves Happiness, but I might push it later on a collar or smth. Maybe even Brandywinebeetle's, if I want her to decide to prove her loyalty.

New patrol!! Usually it's xClan scent or a specific predator, not a "distinct scent trail". I'm going to proceed. I bet the success options are kittypets/loners, lost apprentices, maybe a medicine cat of a rival Clan? and there will probably be equally as many fight outcomes: trespassing Clans, dogs + predators, rogue ambush ect.

Or we can just be Failures and lose the trail entirely. It was def an outsider, though, because the relationship at the bottom.

Few injuries on moon skip: Sunnybeak is bit by a snake but survived (might get the new scar??? SNAKETWO?)
Breezepatch's tail is mangled by a fox. Probably not any of the new scars.

We're catching 15-30 prey per moon and eating 33.5, so I really don't need to send out patrols yet.
I will try and stockpile the moon before leaf-bare, though, because that will last through the entirety of leaf-bare.

Auburnash is named a full healer (I love -ash but it really doesn't work here) and Burdockrun is named a warrior.
Gladerush and Flintchaser both catch greencough. Havenfur recovers from water in her lungs. Now that Auburnash has her name, she can finally maybe retire. She's 153 moons rn.
Sunnybeak brings home a half-Clan kit, Sporekit. A little molly.

We're under double prey in the fresh-kill pile, but it's still "overflowing". I think any value over the needed amount is overflowing.

I'm always mad when healer traits aren't made medicine cats; I rarely ever have meddy cats with good traits for their job. Sometimes clever.

See this is where prey mechanic is a little awkward. Do I do a bunch of training patrols? More border patrols? I feel like hunting is generally wasted. Maybe I spam hunt so I can see what it's like to have WAYYY too much prey; I haven't had to throw anything out yet and I'd like to see if maybe I get more poisoning/rotting events... Okay, finally got this. It isn't mentioned anywhere but the prey log.

Okay, I didn't really get any prey events but I got a few new things in 20 moons. Imma pause there for now but here's my little intro into prey mechanics.

My thoughts:

Log sucks. Big sucks.
The fact that passively I get enough prey is... a little awkward, actually. I want hunting patrols and failing them to feel more impactful. I probably won't be saying that the moment my prey pile gets decimated but...
also that in 20 moons, I didn't get a SINGLE prey moon event. I wasn't hoping that the update would be flush with new moon events relating to the pile, but I was hoping for a few minor ones (even -- was seen sneaking double portions from the pile, -- spent all night hunting instead of sleeping, a fox/crow snuck into camp and stole from the pile, some cat brought home rotten prey and some had to be thrown out ect)
I do like the hunting patrols and the balance of prey catching. The numbers there felt good.

New menus are good! I like the organization, and it's so much nicer for modders.
New patrols are very cute.
New statuses and relationship pips are VERY cute
didn't get any sibling patrols, still don't know what "constrained" patrols are referring to exactly. Old mentor/apprentice pairs? Are deputies and leaders treated special? More mate patrols? Maybe cat/grandkit relation? Idk

All sprains. Havenweb is a BoughClan warrior that came to IvyClan to be healed (from a SPRAIN? idk) and Shaleslip is here to recover from pregnancy... not in the main den, because her broken back has healed as much as it is going to. She's alive, but paralyzed.

Havenweb came here to avoid a tyrannical leader. I guess BoughClan wasn't able to stay away from BounceClan's influence after we helped free them... :/ Back to being enemies with them.

I don't know if it's a great idea giving her an apprentice before she had a single moon to come to terms with her paralysis and hasn't done ANY warrior tasks since she was taken in but... I guess she's a good teacher, maybe it was the right move.

We rescue a tom from the thunderpath, a kittypet named Blossomstripe who has a broken bone. He's fixed.

Blossomstripe, the kittypet we took in, heals from his broken bone. He takes a blow meant for Freckleclaw when a BounceClan cat ambushes them on a tour of the territory <3 Cutie!!

Dewpelt, Flamechase, Shaleslip and Ratspots' injuries all heal, but we have a lot still injured and sick.

It's really hard to justify taking in a cat when the healer's den is overflowing with cases, but they can't leave a cat with redcough by the thunderpath. Myrtlespeckle isn't likely to survive what was likely poison, and the Clan sees little harm in offering him a warm place to sleep. (rolled a 6) He's fixed. (also 6)

We end the war with BounceClan. I don't think we were winning, but they were losing just as hard as we were.

Welcome to Snowecho. He's grateful Sparrowflicker saved his life, but a little guilty the Clan was willing to take him in after one of their own warriors died to save him and so took a warrior name to start devoting himself to filling Sparrowflicker's place in the Clan. He was fixed in a TNR event and can't have kits. But he does have a beautiful name.

Aw I was looking at family trees to see why she might have used Freckle- for a name (probably for Saplingfreckle, Curlyholly's mate, who Hazypelt was very close friends with and where Curlykit got his name) but I realized... Finchsnap's line is dead. Neither of his kits had kits and none of his littermates had any kits either. Sad. I'll have to do the family tree up to see how many lines have died.

First moon is really short. Sleeksteep was seen talking with a loner, and Cottontuft was looking for a GardeniaClan cat at the border.
we have plenty of prey and plenty of cats, so maybe it's a good moon to pair some young ones up and see who sticks for romance. I guess it's hard because all the young young cats are cousins (either Heathfur's litter, or Heathfur's son Rosyfern's litter) except for Mothback.

I headcanon Rosepelt goes to the twolegplace often after helping Goatflare, and is friendly with the vet techs, using them to get information on healing. Cottontuft is training her, but she's pretty much got the skills needed to be a warrior already. She's been training on her own, maybe?

Our lost cats that are still alive. Adderkit is 75 moons old (!!) Lightningdapple is 186 and Sparkswarm is 219!! he must still be with humans. The youngest cat lost is Boughiris, who was captured a few years later. He's 46 moons now. We only ever had one cat come back: Hazypelt.

First, an apprentice joins our Clan.

His name is Hornetpaw, and he's been watching our borders for a few moons, lurking and watching the other apprentices train. He basically just walks into camp and says he's part of the Clan now. Blizzardclaw becomes his mentor.
Parsleyhusk and Weaselmane adopt a single kit, Crookedkit, a little brown molly.
And Adderfleck has her single kit: a white sokoke molly with heterochromatic pale blue/amber eyes!! It's almost like having the Puddlefrost line back!!
With all these young cats running around, Firstreak decides to retire. They go missing for a few days, wanting to visit some of their kittypet friends from their youth now that they have the time.
We hear rumors that Raccoonfog died. Amberstar doesn't know how to feel, regretting a little that he had to exile his son, even if it was clear he was a murderer.

BROOO???? Jackwhisper is MURDERED by Cypressgoose???? I loved both these cats!! I rolled my exile dice and... Surprisingly, Cypressgoose isn't exiled for this. Why???? I guess he's Heathfur's oldest son, and both she and Amberstar love him to bits. I will say outside of that, most cats dislike or hate him... but I guess maybe Heathfur pleaded for him to stay. I think his punishment would be to be kept in camp as almost a prisoner and forced to do camp chores. He is a good camp keeper, anyways. Perhaps she argued that the dark forest will be enough punishment once he dies. I'm going to make him a mediator in-game so he can't patrol, but he also won't do any mediating like Goatflare will each moon.

WHAT THE. TWO MURDERS????? Sakurastripe that isn't even your apprentice????? He IS exiled for this, having been witnessed by his entire patrol.

We get a new cat this moon, an older molly named Mallowspider, who saved Longkit from drowning and brought the tomkit back to IvyClan after he'd snuck out. We... weren't being very charitable after TWO MURDERS, one by a recent loner accepted into the Clan, but Mallowspider DID go out of her way to protect Longkit in leaf-bare, so we let her stay.
We get TONS of young warriors! Horneteye, Ivyear, Silkblur, Ravenpelt and Prancewhisker are all made warriors this moon.
Rindlepaw is a bit behind (understandably, her first mentor was carried off by an eagle while they were out. That was a bit traumatic. As well as getting a new mentor half-way through training). But Hoppaw and Aphidpaw will probably graduate too next moon.
Also apparently the game made newly named Prancewhisker Hoppaw's new mentor after Sakurastripe was exiled lmao. He's reassigned to Copsefur so he's not mentored by his literal littermate. And Copsefur hasn't had an apprentice despite being one of the more senior warriors in the Clan.

Heathfur travels to all the other Clans to deliver an important message. I wonder what that's about?

He joins Slumberpatch and his cousin Raccoonfog there. Both Swallownudge and Sakurastripe are still alive in exile. I didn't think about this before, but from now on, I'm going to set all Dark Forest cats to "never fade". I think it would be... interesting if they came back for Dark Forest Plots in a few hundred moons. And so that our murderers can be immortalized.

Ravenpelt and Silkblur both have good teacher traits, but are insecure and nervous respectively. They need some time to gain confidence.

RIP all these wonderful cats. At least it didn't roll any kits. We did lose all our apprentices, though (besides Brookpaw, who was made a warrior this moon)

Mallowspider was the one flirting, Cressthorn only has romantic pips for Briarpeak and Mottlehorn, though neither crush is reciprocated very much.

The Clan is only 24 cats now. So not tiny, but certainly half the size as when I started. A lot of the senior cats died, leaving only the younger generation. Parsleyhusk is 50 moons as the third oldest warrior, and most are 30 or younger.

I wanted to retire Amberstar once Mottlehorn recovered from birthing her kits, which happens on this otherwise calm greenleaf moon.
So Amberstar retires, retaking his old name of Ambershade in the elder's den. He's confident Mottlehorn can take over in his stead, and though he didn't lose any lives in service of his Clan, he feels he is too tired to do a proper job.
BoughClan does come asking for herbs, but since we're restocking after losing everything in the winter, we refuse to share.

Mottlestar travels to gain her nine lives. Ambershade joins her. This isn't usual, but it isn't without precedent. Weaselmane, Lightspots, Rosyfern, Gentlebite, Snaptrail, Cottontuft, Jackwhisper and Heathfur all give her lives. For her last life, Ambershade touches his nose to hers, and the twisting energy of the nine lives he held settle into one. He didn't want his retirement to be drawn out by ten deaths, and they'd do better serving Mottlestar.
Mottlestar names Briarpeak her deputy, as the two mollies are good friends.
Mottlestar then instantly catches greencough. In early leaf-fall.
Silkblur gains herbs for her fur.
Brookshade broke a leg being dropped by an eagle.
And then we get a very unfortunate MASS EXTINCTION
Cressthorn (poor Mottlestar), Blizzardclaw, Ryebranch, Applefang and Streampaw are killed in a fire.
With Streampaw's death (who was expected to become a warrior this moon), Briarpeak technically hasn't mentored an apprentice fully. She'll have to take one of the next kits.
We are down to exactly 20 cats. Which means I think this is a great place to pause for now.

I really should play more classic. One of my warriors was having an affair with a kittypet and she snuck out to meet him on patrol to ask him to join and he didn't. I don't know if that's because I single border patrolled or a classic thing.

WOW recruiting cats is easy. I got two more + encountered two that didn't join this moon.
Redid mates a little to make cats that actually liked each other mates first. Hopefully that means kits quicker.

I HIT A VITILIGO!! I wonder if it's not that uncommon or if I'm just super lucky. I might have not noticed on this cat, their pelt is mostly white and light grey. She's one of Hollyleap and Mantisdawn's kits. None of them inherited the colorpoint gene tho....
