Going to do a full recap + family tree outline.

Alpinestar is IvyClan's fifth leader. She's Chervilcry's daughter and mate of Burrwhisker. Mother of Limestripe and Brookskip; grandmother to Limestripe's litter: Downykit, Rockykit, Thrushkit, Beamkit. Tricklebrook, her deputy, is her only living cousin.
Tricklebrook is daughter of Apricotsprout and Swiftfreckle. She has a weak leg. Dahliapelt is her niece.
Meadowtail is the daughter of Phloxsnap and our senior healer. Her mate is Quillfur. Mother of Canyonfleck; Grandmother to the newborn Flykit, Fernkit, Woodkit and Pigeonkit. Dahliapelt is her aunt, and she has many cousins.
Warmfoot is a new healer. His mother is Badgerholly. Mothstripe and Brushspeckle are his aunts, and Moondusk is his cousin.
Berrycave is the Clan's mediator. He is Burrwhisker's son.

Burrwhisker is the Clan's oldest warrior. His father was Luckspring and he's mates with Alpinestar. Berrycave is his only surviving blood, with Limestripe and Brookskip as adoptive children.
Cinnamonskip was formerly a kittypet. Mother of Burnetbuzz, Otterclaw and Shalehope.
Copperstripe defected from BoughClan to join IvyClan. She's the mother of Frostquiver.
Badgerholly is the daughter of Sunshatter. Mother of Quillfur and the healer Warmfoot. Grandmother of Cavernspeck and great grandmother to Flykit, Fernkit, Woodkit and Pigeonkit. Which is the ninth generation, starting with Dovefreckle the 170 moon kittypet who died bearing Vixenpelt (our first mediator) and Wrenfern. They have one of the longest family lines.
Nutstripe is daughter of Scaledapple. Mother of Whispersplash, Swallowspeckle and Jaggedspots with Lavenderpelt.
Hollypetal is a tom that was formerly a kittypet. Father of Falconswipe, Brightpool and Frigidpelt.
Dahliapelt is daughter of Streamclaw and Carpcatcher. Mate of Lavenderpelt. Mother of Blossomshock, Russetriver and Pheasantpaw. She also claims Nutstripe's three kits as adoptive children and helps parent them with Lavenderpelt.
Primrosezoom was a defect from BounceClan when she was only 6 moons old. She was once named Eaglepaw but was forced to change her name as we already had an Eaglepaw (Eaglestripe, a healer that died young). She has no family in IvyClan.
Mothstripe is daughter of Sunshatter and Shellpelt. Littermate to Brushspeckle.
Brushspeckle is Mothstripe's sister with no family of her own.
Quillfur is the oldest son of Badgerholly, mate to Meadowtail. Father to Cavernspeck.
Goatmoon is a tom that was once a kittypet and a rather recent addition to the Clan.
Lavenderpelt is son of Bristlemound. Mate to Dahliapelt, but also somewhat together with Nutstripe, having kits with both mollies. He is the step brother of Bouldercurl and Pinnaclefleck and has lots of adoptive niblings through them.
Cavernspeck is the last son of Meadowtail and Quillfur. He has four newborn kits: Woodkit, Flykit, Pigeonkit and Fernkit.
Bouldercurl was adopted by Bristlemound. He is father of Downykit, Rockykit, Beamkit and Thrushkit with Limestripe. He is Pinniclefleck's brother. Rockbloom is his aunt.


Pinniclefleck is father to Blisschasm, Aphidcrawl, Puddlefrost, Windpoppy and Siltrise. His grandkit is Chaffinchkit.
Moondusk is son of Flutterbramble. Badgerholly is his aunt, and he is cousins with Quillfur and Warmfoot but otherwise has no close family.
Antspeck is son of Fireleg and mates with Windpoppy. He is father to Chaffinchkit.
Limestripe is daughter of Alpinestar and Burrwhisker along with her sister, Brookskip. She is mother of Bouldercurl's kits: Downykit, Rockykit, Thrushkit and Beamkit.
Brookskip is a young warrior with no family of her own.
Blisschasm, Aphidcrawl, Siltrise and Puddlefrost are daughters of Pinnaclefleck. Windpoppy is his son, and father of Chaffinchkit along with his mate, Antspeck.
Falconswipe is Hollypetal the kittypet's daugher, along with Frigidpelt and Brightpool.
Jaggedspots, Swallowspeckle and Whispersplash are all Nutstripe and Lavenderpelt's daughters. Dahliapelt is their adoptive mother.
Shalehope and Burnetbuzz are Cinnamonskip's daughters. Otterclaw is their brother.
Frostquiver is Copperstripe's daughter.


Russetriver, Blossomshock and Pheasantpaw are all Dahliapelt and Lavenderpelt's sons.
Rockbloom is daughter of Reedstar. She was lost for a long time and only recently made her way back to IvyClan.
Fireleg is Antspeck's mother and grandmother to Chaffinchkit. She was formerly a rogue.
Chaffinchkit is son of Windpoppy and Antspeck.
Downykit, Rockykit, Thrushkit and Beamkit are Limestripe and Bouldercurl's.
Flykit, Woodkit, Fernkit and Pigeonkit are Cavernspeck's.

WE LOST ALL OUR HERBS TO THE COLD!!!! NO!! They desperately send a huge patrol for more herbs but find nothing but Moondusk's frostbite.
Chaffinchpaw is made an apprentice! He's given to Shalehope.

Meadowtail survives greencough thank StarClan. Jaggedspots and Shalehope catch it tho.
Windpoppy and Antspeck adopt three kits: Shykit, Larchkit and Comfreykit.

We get a sick kittypet. Not much we can do with no herbs, but it's only whitecough and winter is almost over.

Burrwhisker survives greencough and retires. Good for him.
Awww Blisschasm is the one to confess this time and Frigidpelt says yes. More mates!

Mass extinction! Limestripe, Badgerholly and Almondkit (!!! NO not my Sunshatter calicos!!) Hollypetal, Otterclaw, Tricklebrook (my deputy!!!), Brightpool and Shykit all die from poisoned prey.
Brookskip and Cavernspeck become mates. Lots of mates without my intervention, this is awesome.
Brookskip also brings home a rogue? His name was Klondike but we make him change it. Palejay joins the Clan. What is it with outsiders choosing Pale+animal names? First Paletiger the rogue, now Palejay the rogue.
Brookskip is also named deputy. Wow this is a big moon for her. She's Alpinestar's only surviving family after Limestripe's death. I think our Clan does a little nepotism.
Oh, Warmfoot and Bouldercurl broke up already. Well that was a short fling.

Bouldercurl takes back Warmfoot. Okay then.
KIT EXPLOSION!!! Moondusk brings home a single kit: Yellowkit. Siltrise has her single kit: Driftkit. And Mothstripe and Primrosezoom adopt three: Spotkit, Ryekit, and Patchoulikit.
Comfreypaw is apprenticed to Blossomshock, while Larchpaw decides to train as a healer.
Brookskip, our new deputy, comes out as trans male.

Apricotshade joins the elders. We have three now! Burrwhisker(154), Fireleg(145), and Apricotshade (119). Cinnamonskip, Blademoor and Copperstripe are all older now too (125-123) with Nutstripe, Dahliapelt and Primrosezoom all 100+. Alpinestar is 136 moons.

Since we did a cat update last time, let's do a relationship check to start today off!
Siltstar is mates with Azuritehail! He also has a rather concerning crush on the new warrior Cavernshadow?
Downyfleck, the deputy, has a HUGE crush on Fidgetburst. I... might try getting them together if it's reciprocated.
Meadowtail loves and relies on her fellow medicine cat and child Oatdrop. He's everything she ever wanted in a kit and she loves him dearly. She's friends with all the other old cats in the Clan... except Brushspeckle, who she is like, half a tick from HATING! She also HATES Siltstar and thinks he's a horrible choice for leader.
Oatdrop is a pretty neutral cat. He likes to stay impartial because of his job
Valleyshade, on the other paw, is DESPERATE for his affections. She's really close with her sister, Flailburn too and has a slight crush on Goosethrift.
As for our mediators, starting with Primrosezoom, the oldest cat in the Clan. She has an old lesbian affection triangle with her, Brushspeckle and Gorseweb. Gorse and Brush don't like each other romantically, but they tolerate Primrosezoom being affectionate with both of them. Nothing official, but it's good to have friends that are closer than friends, especially after all their mates have passed.
Burrowrustle is a little overprotective of her two kits, Cavernshadow and Palewhisker. She very much dislikes the loner the Clan recently took in, Fallowshadow, and doesn't trust him.

Now for the rest, I'll only mention cats that are mates, have big crushes, or hate each other. Highlight reel time!
Antspeck dislikes all the healers, especially Briarsilk, who he's close to hating.
Azuritehail is mates with Siltstar, of course. He really dislikes Burrowrustle and Fruittail.
Woodcloud has big crushes on both Petalbillow and Azuritehail. Despite being bloodthirsty, she has no dislike for any cat except Flutterpelt.
Blizzarddream is mates with Flitriver! He's a bit of a flirt, though, and has minor romantic ticks with many other cats.
Petalbillow is mates with Iciclespots. She Also has a big crush on Woodcloud.
Cresskite has 30% jealousy for Oakkit... for some reason? (Oakkit has absolutely no opinion on him in return)
Fidgetburst doesn't really reciprocate Downyfleck's massive crush, but she IS his best friend.
Flinthare is mates with Flutterpelt.
Wow Briarsilk has a huge crush on Flinthare, nearly 40%. He had a small bit of feelings for her back.
Blackshiver's favorite cat is the former kittypet Tikkapuddle. He also has a (reciprocated) crush on Rabbittooth. He dislikes Gorseweb.
Iciclespots hates Tikkapuddle.
Fruittail has a big crush on Flutterpelt, who most other cats dislike.
Oh yeah Flailburn has a huge crush on Siltstar.
Siltstar's rather odd crush on Cavernshadow is reciprocated though. He also likes Cresskite.

Onto the moons!

WHAT a start to the moon. Dahlia comes home, kisses her wife, throws a ballin' party and then peaces out. Absolute legend behavior.
Primrosezoom also dies in her sleep this moon </3 RIP to the queens.
Ermineshell's eyesight has been fading since she was a kit. At 45 moons, she find herself entirely blind. Instead of relearning how to hunt and fight, she decides to become a nursery queen. (in the elder's den at 45 moons)

Petalbillow is caught sneaking prey during a hunting patrol. Meadowtail is caught outside Clan territory.

Petalbillow broke a leg falling from a cliff.
Gorseweb is bitten by a snake but survives.
Flinthare twisted a paw, and Flitriver dislocated a joint.
Valleyshade and Oatdrop are mates now. She finally convinced him.
Fallowshadow was seen talking to a loner, and Lotuspaw was playing with a kittypet.
Gardeniapaw, Oakpaw and Thunderpaw are named apprentices. While Fallowshadow is named Thunderpaw's mentor, he gifts Oakpaw with moth wings?
NO failed river patrol. Havengoose, Cavernshadow and Blisschasm die :/ Only Flutterpelt survives it.

And Petalbillow dies from her infected broken bone. Yikes :/
I was just going to comment that it's been wayyyyy too quiet for a Clan this big.

I'm changing both Goldpaw and Cliffpaw's mentors because Dancingfleck and Flitriver have both been in the healer's den for the last few moons and both have big illnesses. Goldpaw is now apprenticed to Rabbittooth and Cliffpaw to Blackshiver.
Cresskite saves a failed river patrol from all dying single handedly!!

We also have LOADS of new kits! Blackshiver brought home four (Chasmkit, Barleykit, Whirlkit and Icekit) and SiltAzurite adopt two: Quietkit (who is ironically daring) and Billowkit. Whirlkit is the only molly.
Fallowshadow got a claw-wound from the war, but he also brought home laurels as a trophy.

Rimespeckle steps down from being a warrior at only 45 moons. His twisted leg has kept him off patrols for more time than not, and the cold is painful for him. He decides to help his aunt Ermineshell as a young elder and camp keeper.
Honeypaw survives kittencough. She is made an apprentice alongside her littermates Cougarpaw, Oriolepaw and Bitepaw

Antspeck was seen speaking to a cat from BoughClan, even if we're at war.
Gorseweb joins the elders at 127 moons.

GardeniaClan asks for burdock, but we don't share because last moon we tried to save some of their cats and they yelled at us for it. Rude.

Cliffdrift (which is a NAME certainly) is named a warrior but immediately catches yellowcough.
Ermineshell has a single daughter: Micakit! Which is an awesome prefix!!!
Also all Blackshiver's sons have his cyan eyes and it's adorable.]
Burrowrustle is complaining that she's always mediating elders, and then randomized into Meadowtail+Goatmoon LMAO
Briarsilk got a mangled tail on patrol from rogues.

AW Goatmoon and Meadowtail became mates <3 Good for them!!! Maybe now he'll convince her to retire (or not, since he also didn't retire until over 140 moons)
BounceClan declares war on us. At least it's newleaf now.
We are PREPARED for this war though, we had like, four different "this is how IvyClan is training their warriors for battle" prompts.
Also three new warriors! Oakhiss, Hazelfur and Gardeniastripe. As soon as Goldpaw isn't sick he should join them, as should Thunderpaw.
NO Fickleblaze, the new rogue we got, died to a big dog on patrol :/ Rip him.

Aw Cliffdrift died of yellowcough. His brother, Goldfeather, was named a warrior along with Thunderclaw this moon.

ValleyOat kits dropped! She has four: Zinniakit, Raccoonkit, Gentlekit and Ficklekit. I'd like to think to honor Fickleblaze's sacrifice last moon?

All these cats have stomachaches or runny noses (Except Avalanchegorse, who is sore from his twisted leg)

Bushspeckle, our oldest elder, dies to a snake bite. Flitriver ALSO dies to a snake bite. Wow there's lots of snakes this moon. Meadowtail hated Bushspeckle, but tries her best to save her anyways <3
Antspeck got a mangled tail by a dog. Thunderclaw broke a bone to a dog. Wow also dogs. Our territory sucks.
Ermineshell is now completely blind.

Cougarfreckle is named a warrior (her first randomized name was Cougargoat but that was... a little too weird? Maybe if she had like, a climbing trait, but she doesn't.)

Aw Cresskite asked Rimespeckle out but he said no :(
Fidgetburst got grabbed and dropped by an eagle and broke a leg.
Blackshiver went missing for a few days??? Okay??
Goldfeather got his paw stuck in a trap but luckily only got a sprain.

Well it's a good time as any to use this list to remember to update the family tree....

Moon 0 patrols:
Bugknoll and Myrtlepaw train. Bugknoll decides its as good time as any to teach her apprentice how to climb. The conifer trees are easy enough--the sap alone made it impossible to fall, paws practically sticking to the bark--and Myrtlepaw's energy and bravery allowed her to excel at any task Bugknoll put her to... even if Bugknoll tried to give her hard tasks so she could learn to push past failures.

Swamprumble takes Dreamspeckle out for herbs, knowing his journey will put him towards DewClan's border and knowing that he needed a warrior escort in case DewClan trespassers were about. Unfortunately, they do run into a DewClan hunting raid. Dreamspeckle wants to confront them but Swamprumble eventually makes her see reason: there's four DewClan cats, and they are just a single warrior and a medicine cat. The two cats hide and are forced to watch, furious, as DewClan makes several catches on their territory, being loud and disrespectful the entire time.

Vixentrot notices suspicious pawprints scuffing the moss on a rarely travelled bit of land. It's Silverheart that mentions she'd gone this way earlier and Lionstar recognizes Vixentrot's own scent pooled in the stones. Embarrassing, but at least it wasn't a trespasser.

MOON 1
Camp:


Just before it's time for the kits to be apprentices, Driftkit disappears for a few days. The Clan is distraught, though Mitekit is pointedly not afraid for his denmate, instead complaining quite vocally that it was just like Driftkit to do something dramatic for attention. Silverheart stays with Mitekit in camp, but the rest of the Clan searches for Driftkit... who appears two days later, with a purple collar around his neck. Mitekit is horribly upset that his naming ceremony was delayed so that Driftkit could run away to twolegs, of all things, and is even more upset when Vixentrot, Bugknoll and Lionstar coddle Driftkit afterwards. He's a bit mollified when he is named an apprentice and Lionstar herself chooses to be his mentor. Driftpaw is given to Vixentrot.


Swamprumble is very surprised when Driftpaw gifts him a maple whirligig, apologizing for his antagonistic behavior as an apprentice. Swamprumble thinks it was very mature of him to come and apologize, even if it was only because Mitepaw decided to be a warrior's apprentice in the end.

Patrols:

Lionstar and Vixentrot take their new apprentices to learn to hunt. Driftpaw gets really into it, which comforts the two warriors, who were afraid that he might want to become a kittypet after running off. Vixentrot takes plenty of opportunity to praise Mitepaw too, and is impressed by how quickly he picked up on the new skills. Later, Lionstar lets them both share what they caught beside her den, a high honor for new apprentices.


Bugknoll and Myrtlepaw find a strange burrow between mossy stones while hunting. Before Bugknoll can caution her, Myrtlepaw rushes in and is bit by a wolverine! Bugknoll bravely jumps in front of her apprentice, protecting her from further injury, but Myrtlepaw's tail is mangled. Bugknoll helps her home, upset that Myrtlepaw wouldn't listen and even more upset that she was turning to blame the incident on Bugknoll, complaining the whole way back. Lionstar brings Myrtlepaw prey and Silverheart makes sure to keep her company while Swamprumble bandages her up.


Silverheart and Dreamspeckle scent canine on the edge of the territory. They can't track down where it's coming from, though, or how big the creature might be. In the end, they have to give up their search without more information and report to Lionstar that they scented canine, near the GaleClan border, but couldn't tell where it came from or if it managed to get further into MossClan's territory.


Swamprumble stuck close to MossClan's camp this moon, salvaging scraps of goldenrod from his stores that had been decimated by storms last moon.

MOON 2
Camp:


Bugknoll joins her apprentice in the medicine cat den after tripping and spraining her paw. The mentor/apprentice pair are stuck between harshly fighting and getting along well, a constant back and forth that has Swamprumble upset at them both. At least he has Lionstar, who is constantly visiting trying to lift his spirits.

Dreamspeckle admonishes Mitepaw from sneaking extra fresh-kill. Lionstar ends up giving him a punishment, but after seeing her apprentice so repentant, ends up taking pity on him and releasing him from his duties a day early.

Silverheart runs into Dreamspeckle, both taking a stroll to clear their minds at dusk. The two take their walk together. Dreamspeckle notices how close he's walking, that the tomcat's soft voice and bright mood make her heart beat faster. She feels aware of him as she never really had before, and even if his words and conversations are familiar, she wants to understand him better.

PATROLS
Vixentrot and Driftpaw seem to get along so well, but while training Driftpaw mentions how nice the twolegs were, which sets Vixentrot into a long and heated lecture about the Warrior Code, their values, and why he can never, ever see the twolegs again. He is taken off guard--after all the Clan had been so nice to him after he'd returned with his collar--and can't manage to integrate Vixentrot's harsh words with her otherwise accepting actions. He brings this up, making Vixentrot more upset, and she refuses to train him until he apologizes and swears never to see the twolegs again. Later, he brings it up to Silverheart, who mentions that Vixentrot too had kittypet friends in the day, which ended up hurting her, and she doesn't want the same thing to happen to him.

Dreamspeckle and Silverheart find themselves on patrol together again. Silverheart is amused, knowing Dreamspeckle is deputy and assigns patrols, and wonders if she's doing it to spend more time with him. Either way, there's duties to be done, and when the see fresh earth around an old fox den, they end up placing a trap across the entrance to see if anything's moved in. Standard procedure for MossClan.

Lionstar and Mitepaw share sunlight. Mitepaw is uncomfortable relaxing in Lionstar's presence, itching to train and see more of the territory, but Lionstar refuses. Relaxing and finding peace is part of MossClan too, and she forces him to learn meditation. He eventually gives up trying to convince her battle training would be more useful and is surprisingly good at meditating once he gets in the zone. Afterwards they talk, and Lionstar tries to apologize for his punishment earlier that moon, but in doing so accidentally implied that she lets the other senior warriors do the same, which Mitepaw confronts her as being totally unfair!

Swamprumble gathers herbs alone again. There's a large clearing, a dip in the land that often floods, and several older pine trees are fallen about after their roots flooded and rotted. Oak grubs are more tolerant of the wet conditions, small enough that the medicine cat can easily gather the fresh, green leaves. He makes sure to cut most of the new grubs down: MossClan keeps a few of the sapling trees to grow here, but he doesn't want a canopy to shade the clearing, which is one of the few places on the territory where herbs can grow year-round.

Moon 3


Quiet is good, Lionstar knows, but sometimes...

The two apprentices are doing well in the Clan. Driftpaw is still nervous, but he's conquered his stutter. Mitepaw's boredom in the nursery that caused him to bully others has entirely evaporated now that he has new places to explore and he's constantly pulling Driftpaw along to adventure with him. Silverheart is the one cat that both apprentices seem to greatly respect, and he knows they look up to him as a role model. Dreamspeckle notices Silverheart's interactions with the apprentices and wonders what he kind of father he would be.

Myrtlepaw, stuck in the healer's den with a mangled tail, pulls a prank on Vixentrot with Bugknoll's help. The two overheard her talking with Dreamspeckle, where she admitted to being deathly afraid of snakes, so the two arranged to put a curled vine near her nest that night. Vixentrot was rightfully upset, and though Bugknoll confessed to helping set up the prank, Vixentrot put the entire blame on Myrtlepaw and spent nearly fifteen minutes yelling and lecturing the apprentice until Lionstar took pity on her and stepped in, calming Vixentrot down.

PATROLS
Vixentrot takes Driftpaw climbing. Driftpaw is rightfully nervous to be up high, but Vixentrot reassures him that MossClan's pines are the easiest trees to climb and he gains confidence in his success.

Lionstar and Mitepaw's training patrol goes out before dawn to the pond near GarlicClan's border, watching for predators. They see porcupines--not predators, but not prey either--as well as a pair of hawks, a fox, and a mink. She points out the dangers of each, and after the sun is completely risen, the two go down to look at the predator's prints and scent.

Swamprumble... it wasn't a prophecy, but it was certainly an omen. He is distracted on his patrol after seeing a glade that sparked his memory of the dream he had the night before: an open clearing, with a single beam of light illuminating a tree stump covered in moss. It was raining, in the dream, but the beam of light kept the stump dry. He ponders the meaning of the omen while he walks.

Dreamspeckle and Silverheart are on patrol together again. She jokes that it's only because the apprentices are out with their mentors, leaving them the only two warriors left. Which is true, but not the whole story and Silverheart seems to know that. They find an uncommon scent while hunting and both warriors' eyes light up. Groundhogs don't usually venture into their forest, prefering DriftClan and GaleClan's plainland, but they are excellent prey and easy enough for two cats to catch. The massive creature will feed the whole Clan today.

MOON 4


Greenleaf comes around and with the warm weather comes healing. Bugknoll's sprain is feeling much better, and Myrtlepaw's tail healed, but not without a scar to remind her not to go chasing odd scents into fresh burrows. Swamprumble is upset about the scar--the injury wasn't really that bad, he should have been able to heal it better, but his lack of herbs and skills weren't enough. Dreamspeckle knows she can't fully comfort the medicine cat about his insecurities, but she tries anyways. Myrtlepaw isn't really upset, bragging about it to any cat that will listen, especially the younger two apprentices. 

Speaking of the younger apprentices, both Driftpaw and Mitepaw have been working extremely hard lately. Driftpaw keeps coming back to Dreamspeckle to ask the deputy for more and harder tasks during his breaks from training, and Mitepaw has been hounding all the warriors for extra tips on the lessons Lionstar has been teaching them. Lionstar is proud of them both, certainly, but warns them--Driftpaw especially--that while she appreciates their initiative, to not push themselves too hard in training either. After all, MossClan is known for their calm, methodical natures. It would do them well to practice restfulness too.

Bugknoll hangs out with Mitepaw during the gathering, introducing the young cat to her friends in GarlicClan and teasing some GaleClan warriors with him. She then hangs out with Vixentrot, who is in the middle of doing a poor impression of Lionstar. The two gossip a bit, including about Dreamspeckle's obvious crush on Silverheart, only to see the molly acting bashfully around their leader, sparking new gossip.


PATROL

Swamprumble finds a beam of sunlight illuminating a dewy trail through the moss. Curious, he follows the silvery reflections, only to find a bright patch of tansy at the end of the trail.

Bugknoll and Myrtlepaw are a little behind on training. Myrtlepaw is upset because Bugknoll decided it would be a good day to refresh on all the things Myrtlepaw had already learned, rather than start a new lesson, and she deemed it beneath her. But Bugknoll managed to defuse her arguments with sound logic and a small joke, which had Myrtlepaw rethinking things. Bugknoll is good with words, sure, but she rarely shows her clever side and Myrtlepaw is taken off guard with how much her mentor knows.

Vixentrot asks Silverheart to come with her and Driftpaw to hunt. She'd discovered a clearing with many mole burrows, and between the three of them, managed to catch enough that it took two trips to bring everything back! And with the added bonus that there wouldn't be soft mole-trails over the path which a cat could easily twist a paw in.

Because Silverheart was out, Dreamspeckle decides to tag along with Lionstar and Mitepaw on their own patrol. They discover a red fox scavenging off a deer. A red fox was bigger than a grey, more dangerous, but they did have two warriors and Mitepaw's training is going well, experience with foxes would be good for him. The fox, already having eaten plenty while the cats debated fighting, was chased off easily, allowing the three cats access to the easy prey.

MOON 5

Despite being Driftpaw's mentor, Vixentrot often teaches both apprentices. She's encouraged by Mitepaw's enthusiasm for the extra training, but Driftpaw privately asked her if they could cut back on the extra training sessions so he could focus on his own practice. Of course she agrees, and asked Mitepaw to go to his own mentor... sparking a small fight, in which Mitepaw grows defensive, upset that Vixentrot doesn't want to train him anymore.

Bugknoll is stung by a bee. Vixentrot babies her, but Silverheart keeps trying to grab Vixentrot's attention away; he thinks Bugknoll deserves getting stung if she keeps sticking her nose where it doesn't belong, and that maybe this would teach her a lesson in patience.

PATROL

Swamprumble convinces Silverheart to help gather herbs. It's mid greenleaf, the best time, and he needs help carrying plants back. They go across the Faded Stones to where MossClan buries their dead. It's the best way to collect rosemary, which was planted there many generations ago, as the aromatic herb was said to help guide souls to StarClan. Silverheart is the perfect companion for this task, the quiet tom existing in the atmosphere of the burial ground, both grief and love heavy in the air and cold on his tongue, slowing his heartbeats until he reaches a near meditative state collecting herbs. Swamprumble's experience is similar, but driven by the wisps of ghosts he catches out of the corners of his eyes, lurking in the fog-filled clearing. They make him feel welcomed here.

Bugknoll, Myrtlepaw and Dreamspeckle are patrolling the borders when they spot a badger across SableClan's border. The badger goes deeper into SableClan's forest and Dreamspeckle decides to wait a bit, hoping to spot a SableClan cat to warn them, but they're out of luck and no patrol appears for the hour they spend loitering, half-heartedly hunting around the border while they wait. Eventually they concede that they have more border to patrol and give up, though Dreamspeckle wishes they'd have the chance to foster some goodwill with their neutral neighbors.

Driftpaw breaks down during his training, feeling overwhelmed. Vixentrot has to suppress her amusement, remembering Lionstar's warning last moon that the two toms were pushing themselves too hard, knowing that this moment was long overdue. She lets him vent his frustrations and reassures him that he was doing too much, and that doing less this moon wasn't a flaw, but a realistic assessment of his time, ability, and health. She points him to Silverheart, who they both know is a great warrior, but who also takes plenty of time for his mediation and walks, which sooths Driftpaw's worries.

Mitepaw, as always, wants to explore and Lionstar takes him to as many of the Clans' landmarks as she can in one afternoon, quizzing the young cat on what prey can be found there and what history and stories he can remember about each, which is a break in lessons for her and an exciting way to show what Mitepaw learned.

Myrtlefalcon is named a warrior this moon. Lionstar honored her intelligence during her ceremony. She still has a mutual dislike for Bugknoll, and now that she's a warrior, doesn't think the molly taught her all that well, but she's been sticking around Vixentrot a lot and thinks of the molly as a mentor figure, asking plenty of questions and shoring up her training with the tortoiseshell warrior. Dreamspeckle also often helps out in these sessions.


Driftpelt is also named a warrior. He was honored for his loyalty, and Vixentrot helped him gain confidence, turning his nervous nature into a cat that trusts his Clanmates and StarClan to help guide his choices.

Mitepaw missed his assessments, coming down with whitecough at the end of last moon. Lionstar is secretly glad he has an excuse to take another moon or two of training, as while he had enthusiasm, he wasn't as quick to pick up skills as Driftpelt was and probably wouldn't have done well on his assessments. Bugknoll feels down that her son is alone in the apprentice den and wasn't able to graduate with his peers.



Despite having gradutated, Vixentrot still spends a lot of her time around Driftpelt. The two have formed a very close bond throughout his training, and she sees herself as a guardian figure towards the young tom. They both understand each other and are very comfortable spending time together.


Now that he's a warrior, Driftpelt can admit that his friendship with Mitepaw might be something more. There aren't any mates in the Clan to compare his feelings to, but Vixentrot admitted to him her feelings for Swamprumble one day and he tentatively admitted to his feelings for Mitepaw. She was proud of him, if a little envious that his feelings had a chance of being reciprocated, unlike hers.


Swamprumble is in a brilliant mood. He loves leaf-fall, and he's been reflecting about his time spent with Silverheart more than he probably should. It was Dreamspeckle's complements towards Silverheart that really sparked it off; he'd never realized how dependable Silverheart was until Dreamspeckle reminded him of it. That night, he snuck off and slipped some of the rosemary into Silverheart's nest. It would help him relax and meditate, and maybe even see StarClan ghosts like Swamprumble could.

Silverheart loves working with the newly named Myrtlefalcon. Now that she's a warrior, she's mellowed out a bit and the two can walk in companionable silence, which he appreciates. Myrtlefalcon doesn't seem to notice Dreamspeckle's jealous stares every time Silverheart invites her to join him on his evening strolls. She also spends more time with Driftpelt; she disliked the two younger cats on principal when they shared the apprentice den, but now found a new solidarity with him in the warrior's den, being the only two young cats there.

PATROL

Driftpelt asks Swamprumble if he could join on a herb gathering mission. He's curious about StarClan, and wonders what it was like for the healer, seeing them often in dreams. Swamprumble talks about omens for a bit, and the half-moon meetings, and seeing Driftpelt's genuine enthusiasm, admits his ghost sight. Driftpelt is in awe of Swamprumble's abilities and it solidifies his own faith, hearing Swamprumble's omens.

Scents of dog near GaleClan's border have been reported, and Lionstar puts together a large patrol to go find it and chase it off for good. She brings Vixentrot, Bugknoll and Silverheart with her, MossClan's best fighters and her most trusted warriors. When they get there, they discover the dog in question is smaller than they anticipated. But small or not, the thing wouldn't give up! They sent Silverheart and Lionstar to harass it, but despite a number of scratches, it never seemed to lose energy. Lionstar eventually called to give up and retreat. It wouldn't be a danger, not even if it surprised a cat, so she didn't feel bad leaving GaleClan to deal with it.

Myrtlefalcon and Dreamspeckle happen across a rabbit acting strangely while hunting. The Clan isn't desperate, having plenty of prey from the two new warriors' hunting assessments, and so leave the staggering rabbit be. It is a warning, though, of increased aggression from DewClan; if the rabbit is any indication, DewClan's water supply is poisoned again, and the Clan will be striking across MossClan's border to steal untainted prey.

Buckle in, cuz we're in the worst timeline rn. I've never had so few cats before!


Okay all these rejected pairs isn't helping the population problem. Also I've never gotten this war prompt before! Poor Bitejump. To be fair, I think we lost 3/5 leaders to wars...
Palewhisker is injured in a brutal fight.

Palewhisker announces she's expecting another litter! This will be her third, all with different fathers.

And Whirlflare has her three: Avalanchekit, Highkit and Fallingkit. Poor Fallingkit is born with a wasting disease, though ;-; I've never gotten that before, very sad.
We also find an abandoned kit on patrol... but it's already dead :(

Zinniapuddle got over her infection and survived the birth of her kits. Good.
