"He may be in worse shape, but that doesn't mean he's a lying cutthroat," said Giovanni gravely. "He's a threat to everybody." Giovanni hoped she didn't realize he wasn't describing Rabbit- he was describing himself. Giovanni didn't know how to be kind to his servant- he wasn't taught kindness. And to him, he was glad for it. But even still, he retained his gentlemanly facade. All it took was a slip of the tongue- and his life could be ruined forever. He was actually somewhat glad Rabbit was out of the way- that cat's sardonic tongue wouldn't get Giovanni anywhere. "And he's impeccably rude, always trying to be a flirt," he grumbled under his breath. That was true about Rabbit a lot of the time, but Rabbit only wanted to be better than his master at something- he was sick of being tossed around. But Giovanni knew that such an easily-bribed cat would never do any good on its own.

Larkspur tried to hide her confusion, half glancing at Rabbit warily. He didn't seem like a rude lier when she'd spoken to him before Giovanni came in, but how would she know the difference? She'd never met these cats: either one of them could've been faking manners, and either one could be the selfish monsters cats said they were. "..If he's so bad, why do you stick around with him? Couldn't you live just as well without him?" she asked.

Giovanni smirked slightly at the little confusion she did show- his plan was ever-so-slowly working. "I can't live without him- he's a parasite, actually. He's the one who catches prey, checks for danger, helps me out with any plans if I ever needed it..." He shrugged. "He's good entertainment, he does any dirty work or horrid chore... But he can be useless nonetheless. His sardonic nature, relentless cowardice, never-ending sarcasm...It makes my flesh crawl." He grimaced in disgust on the word "useless"- it was a word that made his spine quiver and his teeth clench and his paws recoil. Simplicity was key to most plans- his goal might have been somewhat frivolous, but his ways of achieving it wouldn't be.

Larkspur shrugged, shaking her head slowly. Everyone's their own cat, and if Larkspur could live on her own, young as she was, then Giovanni certainly could. And if he didn't believe it, thought he needed Rabbit for everything he does in life, then he was just plain lazy.

Seeing Larkspur's response, Giovanni quickly continued. "But he doesn't do absolutely everything. Some things are just too plain exciting to pass up." He snickered as he remembered the fighting and the loving that came with his life. But he didn't say anything, knowing this cat was a peaceful type who'd never promote violence and unfaithfulness. "Since he's a coward, I'm his method of defense- that cat couldn't even slap a mouse if he tried," he remarked as his servant slowly came back to consciousness.

Seeing that Rabbit was waking up, Larkspur opened her mouth then shut it, her tongue dry. She was a bit ashamed of herself for sitting around and letting Giovanni talk rudely about him, but all she could do was shoot the tom an apologetic glance as he awoke. "You know, you shouldn't talk that way about anyone, not even him," she mewed with a glare at Giovanni. "Besides, I doubt you've come here to blabber your personal information to some stranger, have you?"

"Personal information?" asked Giovanni, confused. I don't consider it personal information, I consider it my lifestyle." He propped Rabbit back up once the servant was fully awake- dazed and confused, yes, but awake. "Did I miss anything important, Signore? Any plans I need to catch up on?" he said as he swayed back and forth, his words faint and slurred. "Nothing out of the ordinary, my dear Rabbit." Rabbit nodded and stumbled over his own paws. "I feel somewhat light-headed, can I excuse myself until I feel normal again, Signore?"
"I'm sure you'll be fine, Rabbit. I'm sure you'll be fine." Giovanni seemed to be patting Rabbit on the back, but he was applying such force that it knocked the breath out of Rabbit.

Larkspur raised her eyebrows, still confused. She wasn't exactly sure why she was still hanging around these toms to be honest. "Goodbye then.. I guess.." she muttered awkwardly, slowly stepping backwards. She was eager to see Giovanni's reaction, and if he even wanted to talk to her at all, or was just stalling.

Giovanni shook his head as if he were surprised by Larkspur's leaving. "Wait, wait! Why would you want to leave? Is it something I or my servant said?" He needed Larkspur in his plans- he knew that she would lead him to more suitable she-cats, ones not as sensitive and untrusting. Rabbit looked at Giovanni, annoyed- even though he was still rather dazed.

"No, I'm just not very sure I'm of much use here," Larkspur replied, noticing Giovanni's slight break of character. Pricking her ears, she waited for a protest: it could give her some clue of why he wanted her to stay so badly. Was her using her? What was the deal?

"But of course we need you! I haven't been around this park for a long time now, and I need to figure out what is what and who is who. If not... there may be more fights the other cats are packing for me and Rabbit..." His voice was cheery and polite at first, but it slowly turned dark, grave, and almost somewhat sinister. Rabbit nodded. "I don't want either of us to participate in battle," he said nervously, as if someone was out to get him in particular- which often was the case.

"Well, I-I don't know many other cats around here.. the only ones I did know are dead," Larkspur mewed, her voice trailing off on the last part to the point where she was barely audible. "There's nothing much to know about this place, it's exactly what it's called: a park. Now if you'd rather be safer and go crawl back into whatever crevice you came from, be my guest."

"Well, what do you know, Rabbit. Apparently there's nothing but corpses here." He walked back out of the park, with Rabbit in tow. Then, he got an idea. After they were out of eyesight, he explained it to his servant. "I have an idea! Here it goes, my dear Rabbit. We switch places- I dress up as you and you dress up as me! That way, I'll be able to appeal to her more."
"Signore, this didn't work at all the last time we did it- I was almost murdered by a mob and you stole the she-cat I was attempting to woo at the time!"
Giovanni bunched up his tail and placed it in a small brown sock to make him look said he had Rabbit's tail, and strapped tabby fabric onto Rabbit's back to complete the illusion. "Might have not worked for you, but it worked for me." Rabbit sighed, placed a striped sock on his tail to make it seem like a normal one, checked to see that both their disguises were on, and was then thrown back into the park by Giovanni.

Giovanni continued shoving and kicking Rabbit out into his place. "Alright- stay in character, don't do anything really stupid, tell me about everything, and never take that costume off. You understand?" "Yes, Signore," came the disgruntled answer. Giovanni ran off in Rabbit's disguise, hoping he'd do as told and hoping his new disguise would provide him some ladies. Rabbit walked around on the park nervously, his tail swaying.
