Intro and History
Introduction
You are dying. Stomach rumbling, throat dry from dehydration, fleas itching at your spine and gnats in your eyes, you stumble down an alley way. Death is coming, of that you are sure. You have lived a harsh life, a rogue's life, and finally it is done. Collapsing behind a dumpster, you close your eyes slip into sleep. Not long after, however, you hear voices. "Is it.. dead?" "How am I supposed to know?" "We should go" "No, look! They're waking up!" Hazily, your eyes open and you peer into two pairs of green eyes. The two tabbies, one orange and one grey, also had a rough appearance but both were healthier than anyone you've seen in a while. "Who are you?" One of them asked, quite rudely. You blink and open to speak but only a harsh cough escapes. "Goose, they must be thirsty!" the other hissed and went to fetch what looked like... a sponge? Regardless when the grey tabby drops the wet sponge in front of you, you gladly lap at the moisture. Throat soothed, you start to explain your situation. They listen quietly, occasionally nodding and glancing at one another. "Well, if you've got nowhere to go, there are a few glarings you can join up with. Ours is one of them, we have another cat with us but she's out hunting right now." You nod swiftly, not giving them time to back out on their offer. And that is how you joined a rogue glaring.
You are tired. You've spent all day defending your little corner of the city. It's a small alley, nothing big, nothing special. It has a dumpster, a few trashcans and a cardboard box pile you call home. Chewing on a fish bone, you have little patience to deal with any more disturbances. But you can hear the loud, rambunctious voices of the house cats in the apartment building next door. Groaning, you stick your head out of your box and yell up at them, demanding their silence. You got it for a few moments, which was delightfully peaceful, before you could hear them snickering away. Glaring at them, teeth bared in a snarl, you were tempted to give them a piece of your mind– and take their tails as trophies when you finished wiping the floor with their floofy bodies. In the end, you decide against it. You need your rest for the fights of tomorrow. You are a loner, and you wish you had a safe place that didn't require so much defending.
You were born in a house, you were raised in a house, and now you have one of your own. You live in a quaint home with a small garden out the back and the houses next door are much the same. You have a neighbor, who is a pleasant cat, on one side and on the other you have a rude dog who barks at all hours of the day. You are happy, you have friends, you are pleased with your simple life. You always have food, you always have a place to sleep, you are safe, you are content, you are.. bored. You know some rogues, some are pleasant and you know of the rude and secular loners who are more likely to box your ears than speak to you plainly. You know that life for them is hard. You have known cats in fall and by spring they are no where to be found, presumed dead. Yet, you yearn for what they have– freedom. Excitement. No day is like the last. Despite the danger, you think it is almost worth it.
History
A decently sized city right on the coast, on a bay. The water is filthy, the streets are in decent but not the best repair. There are lovely neighborhoods outside the city, with proper gardens and what not. Then the quality of homes decreases the closer one gets to the city, the inner city being mostly apartment style housing, stores and alleys. The docks are well taken care of, there is a fish market. Stray pets are everywhere. It is not unusual for a house pet or two to go missing and never be found again, or for a home to suddenly have a litter of puppies or kittens. Life here for stray cats is very difficult. Each day, the world gets a little more dangerous– poison, bad water, spoiled food, monsters, two legged cat-snatchers, other cats, dogs; the list goes on.
The three factions have long since been divided, most fervently. Loners are aggressive in protecting their territories, even kicking out their own young when the kittens get too old. Rogues are surprisingly more inclusive, more open to larger groups and socialization. House cats are pampered and often ignored or belittled by the cats of the streets, what's worse is when a rogue or loner decides to actively heckle and agitate the healthy pets. There are spaces of mutual safety, of neutrality. This does not extend to the rest of the city. It's a jungle out there and "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring." -David Bowie
The Glaring Journey, or the Journey for short, was going to start with Storm at the forefront. However, Storm keeled over and died of poisoning only mere hours before the journey was to start- leaving the cats to split up and return to routine. Some cats, such as Chester, want to continue the Journey, but it'll take a bit of work, given all the doubt and fear that now pulses through the three factions' veins.

Rules & Joining
Rules
This is a literate roleplay, please type 4 or more sentences per post. I understand if you’re having some trouble finding a substantial response, and you’re not going to be banned just because you typed 3 sentences in one post. If, however, I notice consistent grammar/spelling errors, one-liners, or uninteresting/un-descriptive posts, rule #7 will come into play (this includes text speak in the role-play). Also, I cannot stress enough the need for your posts to be actual sentences. If you are an advanced role-player, you probably know what I'm talking about. Don't narrate your cat's movements like this: *walks over to bush* "There is a mouse in here" I say. (end example). It's incredibly confusing and rather unnecessary. No first person either, sorry. Please be on at least once every week to roleplay. That means at least two, decent-sized paragraphs of roleplaying. I understand if the person you responded to doesn’t answer, in which case we will speak with them and you won't be punished. As for people playing the high-ranking positions (leader, deputy, med cat, apprentice med cat), they must post at least five roleplaying posts each week. If they fail to do so, their cat will become a warrior and their place will be put up for claim, except for medicine cat, which will be taken by the apprentice. You have can regain your position only once. Exceptions will be made when necessary. Mentors must have at least one training session with their apprentices each week. If they fail to do so, their apprentice will be given to another warrior. All mentors and high-ranking position roleplayers should have a backup roleplayer for their cats when they are on an excused absence. I will roleplay or elect a substitute for your cat if you do not have a backup, so don’t ask me to be your backup please. Perfect characters, Mary-sues, Gary-stues, all forbidden. Imperfection is perfection, and it brings a depth to the roleplay. Also, big paws cannot be your only flaw. I personally tend to feel drawn to the characters who have some major flaws anyway, as it gives room for more growth in the roleplay. No godmodding or powerplaying either, it’s honestly the most annoying thing you could do. This is re-stated in the joining form, but I’ll say it here too. For every two cats of one gender, you have to make another of the opposite. If you are joining with one cat, this doesn’t apply to you. But here’s an example: She-cat, she-cat, tom= good; She-cat, she-cat= bad; she-cat, tom=good; etc. Also, keep an eye on the allegiances. Too many house cats is no bueno. Most of the cats will be rogues or loners. Please, please, please keep this PG 13. No one needs the dirty details of romance or fighting, so don’t try to share them. “The grass was stained dark red from the blood of the battle.” Is okay. We don’t need to know exactly how much blood there was. I am leader of the roleplay. If, by some stroke of luck, this lasts long enough for my leader to die and your deputy to replace them, I’m still in charge of the roleplay. The rp will remain on this page for as long as it exists. Since the deputy will be chosen in the roleplay though, it is likely that the new leader will be a co-owner by then. If there is romance or even a past of romance, it MUST BE CONSENSUAL. I understand bad things happen, more than most. But I do not want to make any other rper uncomfortable. PM me if you want to ask about specific situations. As far as drama and plots go, don’t start any major ones of your own. The major plots will be discussed in-depth with everyone in the clan, and planned out carefully so that everyone has a part to play. Feel free to have your own love triangle, or have your cat get sick. But epidemics, dangerous storms (rain isn’t dangerous in small amounts), fires, etc will be started by me. By the way, our definition of an epidemic will be over 3 cats ill with the same sickness within a quarter moon of one another. Prophecies will be received by the medicine cat, unless we plan it so that someone else receives it. The prophecies must be okayed by me before they are put into action. You are allowed to say no to an idea for a plot. If you don’t support it, you don’t have to pretend. At the same time, you still have to follow rule 10 when refusing an idea, don’t be disrespectful. If someone refuses your idea, you can try to reach a compromise. Eventually though, I may have to ask you to abandon the idea, or find someone else to roleplay it with. We don’t need three pages of chatting about an idea. Follow Forum Rules and Ghost Rules. Respect one another as equal humans at all times. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but as a rule, you cannot discuss controversial topics on this page. I love a good, intelligent debate like anyone else, but this is not a discussion page, and I really don’t want to offend, anger, or hurt anyone. It all comes down to having a good time, and we don’t want to ruin that for anyone. I will give you up four warnings before you are banned, depending on the rule and how it was broken. Your cats will be put up for claim for two weeks. If they are not claimed then they will die (probably from an illness). Their deaths will not be roleplayed. There are some cases where I might suspend you for a period of time rather than ban you permanently You may not join with a kit. Litters must be okayed by me before they are set into action. You can decide how many kits are in your litter, but it must be under 6. If you want to have 6 or more, you must ask me first. The roleplayers of the parents get first pick, but each person can only roleplay up to three kits in one litter, including the roleplayers of the parents. Also, the same gender rule applies in litters: for every two of one gender, you must have one of the other. Do not start off with a queen either. Those who start with kittens/queens have earned it through helping with the creation of the rp or me observing their rp skills in other rps. You cannot roleplay the mate of your own cat, simply because romance brings another level of excitement into the roleplay. If you want, you can roleplay your cat’s ex-mate or something of the sort, but make sure you stay within the lines of rule 10. Romances must be a minimum of 18 moons. Crushes are fine at any age but if you plan on mates then I prefer the cats to be 20 moons, 18 moons is a stretch for a "long engagement" scenario. KITS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO CATS 24 MOONS AND OLDER. No behavior without cause. That means that yes, you can have “evil” characters. In fact, I like a few trouble-makers in the roleplay, it brings some excitement. But keep in mind everyone has a reason they are evil. You can’t have an ex-mate come and attack your cat just because they want them back. And don’t throw the Ashfur thing at me. Don’t even get me started on the warrior villains. They should not be your example. Except maybe Sol. Sol had a solid background, if a bit whiny. Be realistic. If we arrange a small border skirmish with some rogues, we will select the cats who will be in the skirmish. Don’t have your cat running around from place to place like a teleporter. If a violent event of some kind breaks out and it wasn’t in the main plot, you need to ask to join in. It is so annoying when there’s a fight breaking out at a border and a cat in the camp is like *hears sound of battle and runs*. DO NOT DO THIS. If someone jumps into your side roleplay without asking, you can feel free to ask them to stay out. A peaceful reply could be something like, “Sorry, but this is kind of a side plot for me and ____, and we kind of just wanted to keep it to ourselves for now.” If you want, you can copy&paste that xD This is a clan-forming roleplay. That means your cat does not know how a clan would function- it has never experienced it. That being said, everyone can feel free to express their own opinion of how the clan should work through their cats. The beauty of role-plays like this is it doesn't have to work the way everyone is used to. So feel free to express your own ideas, by all means, but you also have to make sure your cat doesn't know things it has no way of knowing, (ex: Clawtail looked up in inspiration, his dream must have been a sign. "I should be the medicine cat! The cat that heals everyone!"). This displayed two things you shouldn't do, besides the boring name xD. First, StarClan doesn't exist, and cats don't receive messages from them in their dreams or in real life. Second, the cat shouldn't know what a medicine cat is. Get it. Have fun! We aren't here to fight the whole time in the role-play, so feel free to have some humor or goofing around. As long as the rules are followed, you can chat as well as role-play and form relationships both ways.
Joining
Essentially, if you make two female characters, you must make a male as well. Also, the ratio for each faction is 2 rogues for every 1 house cat. If you only intend on making 2 cats then the exception is you may have 1 rogue/loner and 1 house cat but never 2 house cats at one time. This is to ensure that the house cat number is low enough for the journey. Please copy&paste this form and fill it out to the best of your ability. If you have questions, please ask!
**A 'glaring' is what a group of cats is called**
Character Name ⎮ Age in Moons ⎮ Gender (Male or Female) Description ;; 3-6 lines of what your cat looks like. Nothing "fantastical" or unrealistic, please. Personality ;; 3-6 lines of personality. I want two "good" traits and two "fatal flaws." Faction ;; What faction? [House Cat/Rogue/Loner] If they are a House Cat, which neighborhood? Rogue? What part of the city do they usually roam around? About & Members
About
The Glaring Journey is a semi-literate to literate rouge roleplay, which follows the journey of a group of cats traveling to find a new home. This group of cats consist of three main factions, rouges loners, and house cats. The rouges normally travel in smaller groups, that mainly consist of family members, or just strangers looking for safety. The rouges move place to place, never residing in one specific territory for long periods of time. The second faction of cats are loners. Loners tend to live on their own, and claim one specific territory to make their home. Most loners are often territorial, and chase away any cats attempting to set foot near their land. By many house cats, loners are stereotyped to be the most aggressive, often attacking unprovoked. The last faction are house cats. House cats, or kittypets, stay within the safe grounds of their backyard, not usually venturing out into the city. This faction is mocked by many, labeling the house cats as "weak" In many cases this is not true, and these house cats are skilled at fighting and hunting These three factions of cats must join together as one, and begin their journey for a new home. There will be many obstacles along the way, and not every cat is strong enough to make it. Follow these cats as they embark on the journey of a lifetime, follow them on The Glaring Journey.

TerritoryStarting Territory
Maplewood Park – A decent sized park, mostly woods with a small field where children's play equipment can be found. Seashore Square – A court/cul de sac where four houses sit. The most wealthy house cats reside in these houses. [ 1-2 adult cats per house. Must have even numbers, 1 male for every female. ] Abandoned Twoleg Nest – A safe haven/meeting place for the strays. No one may stay there for more than 3 nights. No one is allowed to reside there permanently. Cutthroat Corner – An alley that is known for it's bloody history. Bad things happened here, horrible things. Anchor's Alley – An alley by the harbor, between the Fish Market and a general store. Has one of the few constant food sources in the city. Knockturn Harbor – The harbor. Home to many strays. Within the harbor there are the Docks which houses eight boats and each boat can have 1-2 cats. Then there is the Fish Market, the General Store which has one cat to chase away mice, the Sewers, the Shore, and the Pier. Lake Lane – A neighborhood full of house cats and dogs. Not as well-to-do as Seashore Square but definitely nicer than the inner city. Apple Avenue – Another neighborhood full of cats and dogs. The lowest category of housing for house cats. Inner City – Just high rises, empty construction lots and alleys. Little food except for rats and crowfood. Not exactly the safest place to be due to cat-snatchers and stray dogs being abundant. Storm's Shallows – An empty lot with a few trees and a lot of tall grass by Knockturn Harbor. Home of the loner Storm and his odd motley crew.
Journey Locations
Snapping Swamp – Large swamp located deep in the woods, surrounded by marshy ground with dangerous patches of quicksand. In fact, this whole area is very dangerous, as alligators lurk in the dark water, giving it the name. First thing the cats encounter before the mountains. The Craggen Mountains – An enormous expanse of rocky terrain, monstrous in size, that spans as far as the eyes can see. Within the mountains are glaciers, sheer drops, unsteady ground and rockslides. Frozen Valley and the Lake of Lies – Just after the mountains, there is a small, beautiful valley, with picturesque trees and beautiful flat meadows surrounding a flat, shining lake. Upon closer inspection though, the area reveals itself to be far more dangerous than anticipated. Devoid of life, the lake is actually a salt plain, the forest is petrified dead wood, and the "field" is sand and dead desert grass. Nothing but crows, but even the crows are scarce. The water of the lake is almost completely clear, but there is absolutely no life in it, not even algae. After drinking, it is revealed to be an acid lake and consuming the water causes extreme stomach problems and in severe cases, death. Stepping in it causes burns. Forest of Squirrel-Bats – Basically, just a forest mostly inhabited by flying squirrels. The trees are enormous, the trunks thicker than any other trees previously seen although for the most part they are hollow. Water runs inside the trees and underground but no river, stream, or pond is seen. Considered somewhat habitable although food is very difficult to catch and water is extremely hard to find despite the forest being very green. Cave of Stars – At the base of the mountains, surrounded by a heavily forested pine area, there is a cave in a pile of rocks. Inside the cave, there is a tunnel, which leads to a cavern. There is so little light that reaches the cave, that it is always dark, the only light being the sparkles bouncing off the crystals in the ceiling and walls. Staying here for extended periods of time causes blindness.
Final Territory
The Forest – A mix of deciduous and pine trees, depending on where you are. The northern section of the forest tends to be pine and less undergrowth, versus the southern section, closer to the lake, where undergrowth is thick and trees will lose their leaves. Very plentiful with birds, mice, vole and squirrels. Fish can be found in the lake, rabbits in the fields of the west. The Gorge – The most northern border. It looks like a giant took it's claws and raked it through the earth, tearing it asunder. The river flows from the north through the gorge and curves east only to split and flow into the lake via a waterfall. The River – Flowing from the Gorge, where the water swirls and will drag you under should you fall in. When it steadies out, leavin the gorge, it is smooth although still quick moving. Those who can swim well will have little trouble navigating. It flows eastward and the main river splits into two, the smaller branch flowing down into the lake, over a waterfall. The Lake – a large body of water filled with fish, if one can catch it. Heavy rainfall causes the river and the lake to swell and flood the nearby areas. Forest of Squirrel-Bats - Basically, just a forest mostly inhabited by flying squirrels. The most southern border and where apprentices have their assignments. The Hollow - A sandy hollow by the lake shore, perfect for training apprentices.

Allegiances:
Rogues
Giovanni ⎮ 31 Moons ⎮ Male
Muscular dark brown tom with black classic-tabby markings. He has a nick in his right ear from battle and a scar on his left shoulder. His eyes are a dark yellow and he has a long, scrawny tail. Giovanni has very long, sharp sword-like claws, which are his main weapon in battle (he hates biting). His whiskers are long and feather-like.
Giovanni is the first to stand up for himself and the last to accept defeat. He is clever and can easily learn how to manipulate other cats around him to his will, and knows about many secret tunnels and passageways throughout the city. However, he isn’t a nice cat. Every day, he finds a new naïve she-cat to prey upon. He will call this cat his mate and stay with her from one to three days. Once he’s gotten bored of her, he will silently leave in the night, leaving the she-cat sad and alone. Why does he do this? In addition to his father being killed by a she-cat, he does it because he loves the quick changes of pace, the battles over affair, and the adventurous lifestyle he leads. His logic is that if you love one she-cat, you must be mean to all the others, and he is just an abundant source of love according to his sources. He’s very good at using his claws and tends to be quite brave when confronted. He treats his servant, Rabbit, like dirt simply because it was what he was told to do- and given his lifestyle, he doesn’t have time to be kind. Giovanni didn’t care much about the death of Storm, if anything, he found it exciting.
Roams around Maplewood Park or Lake Lane. Former House Cat.
Rabbit ⎮ 32 Moons ⎮ Male
Small, dark brown spotted tabby. Very scrawny and bony and not very strong. He has yellow eyes and a short, stumpy tail that gives him his name. Underneath his spotted fur are plenty of bruises and gashes from attacks from other cats or his master.
Rabbit was born the only son in his five-kit litter. Since there was a family tradition where the sons would be ‘servants’ to other cats, he was trained by his father how to be a good servant and was then given to a young Giovanni when the two of them were only teenagers. Since then, Rabbit has been following Giovanni around and obeying almost every command of his. Rabbit has come out as a different cat from this. He is good at remembering, knows every passageway and tunnel in the city (as his master does) and has a better head on his shoulders than his master, but is greedy, a coward, and will betray anybody for his master. He longs to become a cat more like Giovanni, and wants to escape him- but he is very easily bribed. He is never prone to attack other cats and is the first one to critique Giovanni’s plans (usually he’ll straighten the plans out to help his master). However, Rabbit has grown a bit more snappy after Giovanni declined to help the Journey- he was just getting to like the idea of being with other cats, and now that was gone from him. To Rabbit, there’s nothing to fight for- hence why he almost never fights at all.
Roams around Maplewood Park or Lake Lane.
Alix ⎮ 20 Moons ⎮ Female
Alix is quite the good looking she-cat. Her pelt is silver, with tabby stripes of ebony slicing through. Her eyes are an emerald green, which always hold a tough spark in them. The she-cat's build is rather slender and dainty, which she hates. Alix's pelt is quite silky and soft, and she doesn't really care if it's tamed or not. She is slightly shorter than the average she-cat.
Alix is definitely not the cat you would call 'soft'. The silver she-cat is very tough, and doesn't take trash from anyone. Born to a group of rouges, and running away due to them being rather rude and unlikeable cats who she didn't feel comfortable around, she doesn't really care about other cats too much. She is very sarcastic and like to make smart little comments whenever she crosses paths with other cats. She never hesitates to make sharp comments, and comes off as pretty brash and blunt. She is kind of weak physically, but refuses to admit it. She doesn't care for romance or kits and if you flirt with the pretty she-cat, you're asking for your ears to be bitten off.
Lives in Maplewood Park.
Trace ⎮ 22 Moons ⎮ Male
Trace is an average sized cat, and weighs in at 13 pounds. He is a purebred Bengal, and is built more for speed than strength. The tom has the usual bengal markings, but has an odd fully black paw. Trace has bright green eyes, which are usually the first thing cats notice about him. A black 'liner' goes around both of his eyes, making them even more defined. The tom has skinny legs, and has a very lithe body, looking more feminine than masculine. Trace doesn't mind this too much though, as it aids him greatly. An unusual thing about him are his whiskers. Twice the normal length, they often brush up against other cats and animals, which he can't control.
Trace is a flirt, and can be popular with the she cats because of his exotic appearance. The tom knows when to stop, and not take the flirting too far to have a shecat actually fall for him. He can be naive, and easily drawn into helping tje wrong cats. Trace is quite friendly and has good intentions, though he does what he can for himself. He is a quick thinker, and has more of a flight than fight response for dangerous situations. Trace can be called a coward, though labels dont affect him too much. He talks as if he was a fine aristocrat, as he escaped from his Twolegs at a young age.
Lives in Storm's Shallows
Luna ⎮ 19 Moons ⎮ Female
Luna is a large lithe fluffy black she-cat with her long feathery fur surrounding her. Her eyes are pale blue round orbs filled with wonder. Her long feathery is soft, although, it has a few tangles. Her left ear has been ripped with a few claw marks on her back. Her underbelly is white along with her chest and a little spot of white on her muzzle.
Luna is a quiet and reclusive to other cats. She rather keeps to herself and doesn't trust anyone, she doesn't partake in conversations and never wishes to do so. She's here to guard and protect others, but also not get attached to others. Luna has been abandoned throughout her life but, and it shaped her to never trust others. It left a bitter taste on her tongue, and she never allowed herself to partake in relationships in fear of being once again abandoned by those who she thought cared.
Lives in and around Maplewood Park.
Pollo [ pronounced Pohyo ] ⎮ 24 Moons ⎮ Male
Pollo is a stocky tom, who's a bit on the smaller side. He has creamy-peach colored fur along with white tabby markings along the undercoat on his back, along with his legs, belly, jaw and throat being white. He has broad shoulders and a short thick tail. Pollo's eyes are a large oval shape, and are bright amber in color. One of his most defining traits, other than his unique fur color, is the deep gash in his right ear. Pollo isn't sure how he got the wound, but remembers digging through a trash can when all of a sudden a twoleg stormed out of its den and a loud noise pierced the air. He blacked out, waking up the next day with the wound.
Pollo is a rather impatient tom, as he is often too hasty when hunting and can sometimes come back from an entire day of hunting with nothing to show for it. This being said, Pollo is a rather easy going tom and relatively easy to get along with. He is still a young tom and it his youth often shows in the some unflattering ways, he is ignorant on most some subjects and believes he's practically invincible. However if Pollo is one thing, he's easily adaptable to almost any circumstance, the tom is crafty and does a good job of 'thinking outside of the box' when it comes to fighting, patroling etc.
Lives close to the Construction Zone. Patrols all the way out to the Fish Market and the Pier.
Flint ⎮ 27 Moons ⎮ Male
Ginger tom with dark brown-amber eyes and very dark ginger stripes. He has quite a few small scars, all hidden by his rather thick fur. He's not very tall, more on the shorter side. His tail is a bit longer than usual.
Flint is quite hot-tempered, so much so that some cats joke that he was named for it. He loves being annoying and teasing others, so you could say he's quite the jokester and chatterbox. He's very ambitious and competitive so he tries to not let it control him. However, he's also very fierce and won't stand back if his allies are endangered, he'd fight for them.
Lives in Lake Lane.
Rus ⎮ 25 moons ⎮ Male
Thick fur coats this brutes slender frame. Matched with the silky feel and dense weight of the fur, every step creates a ripple of color along his pelt. Well-developed muscles emphasize his slender legs. A fine bone structure creates an illusion of added height and wider build about him, making his broad head seemingly proportional to the rest of his body. His back paws are ever-so-slightly darker than the rest of his body. His feathery tail is longer than most cats', and with a long streaming tail comes balance, giving him the capability of climbing great heights. Rus's head is slightly wedge-shaped, and broad. His almond-shaped eyes are a spitting image of burning
This brute sure does have character. He is quite a charmer when it comes to the opposite gender. Advanced and skillful with knowing how to deal with these delicate creatures that are yet to be called mysterious, cruel and kind-hearted. It seems that he was specially designed and put on earth to nurture and care for those complicated yet beautiful she-cats. He can be hostile and dangerous and I would advise you to back up and give him some space before he does something rash. He has no problem controlling his anger- well to a certain point. Rus has a short fuse and when lit the right way, trust me, this fuse is short when struck. This trait has gotten him into a lot of trouble and will continue to do so. Beside being generally cheery and happy and the rare shots of bitterness he does have a sensitive side. This, unlike the emotion before, is less easy to come out. It would take more than bad weather or a loss to bring a tear to his eye. And in no way am I going to say when he does become sad, that he wails and cries like a baby. Nope. In fact, he holds it in, and never lets it out. Guess that might lead to an early death for him? That’s about it for our dear friend Rus, his few settings and main train of thought, which is one. Must I say it or do you think you can figure it out on your own? You are correct, the she’s. I can only imagine what he will be like if he is ever to obtain a mate.
Lives in an alley on the outskirts of Inner City but can be found roaming around Apple Avenue.
Hawk ;; 18 moons ;; Male Hawk is a well muscled tom with short fur, except for his tail which is a bit fluffy. The majority of his fur is a generic gray color, and he has tan tabby stripes across his back, tail, legs, and head. His ears and paws are completely tan, and he has a tan ring around his right eye. His eyes are a sea green color, and he has a nick in his left ear. ;; Hawk is a kind, thoughtful cat who rarely acts before he thinks. At first glance anyone would consider him a normal tom, but deep down he's much more than that. He has a strong desire to be a leader, and has much raw talent when it comes to that, but unfortunately he's deathly shy, and has a hard time getting over his fear. He looked up to Storm, who was obviously the natural leader, wishing he could be that bold and wise. But when Storm died, it was like a twoleg took Hawk and shook him up so bad he just wasn't the same anymore. Now, he's reduced to a quiet, terrified wreck, and is often jittery and stutters when he speaks. His dreams of leadership seem to be crushed. ;; Rogue. Hawk would usually hang around the Harbor and Anchor's Alley, but now spends a lot of his time around the remains of Storm's Shallows. ;; He had hoped to join Storm's glaring, but now usually keeps to himself. ;; )

Loners
Red ⎮ 25 Moons ⎮ Female
A ginger she-cat with a strong sturdy build. Weighing in at 18 pounds she's rather big for a female, though most of that weight is muscle. One of her most defining features are her eyes, which are a bright green color. Red's pelt is littered with scars, the result of being out in the streets for so long. One of her ears is shredded, only about half of it remaining. This sometimes hinders her, mostly whilst hunting. Her fur is quite short, and cropped close to the skin. red has a long, thin tail, which often drags behind her as she walks.
Red is a cruel and bloodthirsty cat, often killing for her own pleasure. Her past contributes to her personality, though is anyone cat asks, Red will surely claw their fur off. She can have a sense of humor, though it's mostly dry and sarcastic. Red always tries to take charge, as she views herself superior than others. Quite the narcissist, Red also believes that no cat can beat her in a fight, and will challenge any who disagree. She has decided to never take a mate, as she doesn't like other cats enough to stick around.
Chester⎮ 8.5 moons⎮ Male Description ;; Yellow-orange mackerel tabby tom with pale lime-green eyes and a dark blue, muddy collar with red, yellow, and purple stripes, a red fish-shaped tag, and a yellow jingle bell. He has a long muzzle and big, powerful paws. He is slightly big for his age. His ears are rounded like that of a lion’s. Personality ;; Chester has changed since the death of Storm and apparent death of Annie. His once warm, open heart has hardened- he’s now only considerate and caring to those who enjoy him. He’s only focused on one thing- the legacies of Storm and Annie. He wants to be leader and will do whatever it takes to get there- even though he’s only eight moons old. Chester ignores even his closest friends for this cause- and it makes him a bit of a workaholic. He only keeps his collar on because he can’t get it off- and it serves as a reminder of Storm, Annie, and their unfinished promises. Despite this, he’s emotional and vulnerable at his core- and he wants to act his age for once. Faction ;; Chester haunts what used to be Storm’s Shallows, often walking into other areas to make speeches about his plans- ones that are never followed through because after Storm’s death not many cats believe in him. Companions ;; Chester usually has no companions.
Lives in Cutthroat Alley.
Susanna ⎮ 36 Moons ⎮ Female
Dark orange she-cat with brown, broken-mackerel tabby markings and tabby ‘freckles’ on her face. She has orange eyes. She has claws that aren’t that long, but can easily be put to good use, and usually will slap other cats with her claws unsheathed as a weapon.
Susanna first met Rosina when Rosina was a helpless 2-moon-old kit in Cutthroat Corner. She, being six moons older, defended the kit and helped her return home. Since then, Susanna always hangs just by Seashore Square to chat with Rosina every night. While Rosina is calm like water, Susanna is fire. She is sharp-tongued and is rather merciless when it comes to opinions. She is clever, witty, and quick, the first one to escape the talons of danger and the last to be left behind. She has a short temper, and will easily become a crazy claw-wielding weapon if she gets too angry. She doesn’t care about other cats’ opinions, and can easily emotionally hurt other cats without realizing it. She is cynical and not very optimistic (she calls herself a realist). However, she is a good cat who believes all factions are equal and will help her true friends (like Rosina) at any cost. After Rosina breaking down and becoming quiet and sad, Susanna became a living pep-talk: always tryig to get Rosina off her tree and out into the world. Her cheeriness and enthusiasm is jarring side by side to Rosina- and she doesn’t understand why it's not working.
Lives in Maplewood Park.
Rosina⎮ 31 moons⎮ Female Description: Fluffy cream she-cat with dark blue eyes and a white underbelly. She has a long, fluffy tail and short white claws. She has a small scar on her flank from venturing into Cutthroat Corner as a kit. She often looks rather saddening, and usually has her ears folded back. Personality: Rosina is young and hopeful- or at least she was. After Lady’s death and the fact rogues are quite mean, Rosina became quiet and rather somber- almost haunting to cats who haven’t seen her before. In the two moons between the meeting at the Abandoned Twolegplace and now, she found a mate who was seemingly perfect…only for him to become a ladykiller and cheat on her. The rejected, sad Rosina doesn’t talk much and often keeps quiet in a tree in Maplewood Park, fondly reminiscing of her days as a house cat. Faction: Rosina used to be a house cat, but she is now a loner in Maplewood Park. Companions: Rosina lives with no other cats, but she will often be seen with Susanna. She used to have a mate, but he betrayed her and left.
Mitzi ⎮ 30 Moons ⎮ Female
Petite would be the best word to describe this loner, and she's rather proud of her size. With long black and white tuxedo colored fur, Mitzi makes the perfect cover photo for her breed. Her ear tips are tufted with fur and she has a rather lithe body, making her only a little larger than the average house cat. Her tail is long and fluffy, and ends in a white tip, along with all four of her paw tips and of course the white chest and belly. Unlike most tuxedo cats though, she also has a white muzzle, making her a bit unusual. Her eyes are bright green and always alert, and she has a black nose.
Her personality does not fit her figure, as she is rather outgoing and tends to do things the difficult way. Mitzi loves to adventure and get into trouble, making her quite a difficult cat to deal with. She extremely stubborn and bull-headed, only wanting to do things one way; hers. She lacks the ability, however, to be rude to anyone even though she has a sarcastic attitude, she couldn't imagine hurting anyone's feelings. Of course, annoying others is a strong suit for her.
Lives around the General Store in Knockturn Harbor.
Apple ⎮ 17 Moons ⎮ Female
Apple is a long-legged, slender young she-cat. She has the lean strength of a runner. Her fur is pale ginger, and her eyes are golden-yellow. Her ears are russet red, hence her name. She blends in well with the swirling fall leaves.
A fast-paced, adventurous young cat, Apple's mind is usually either lost in a daydream, relishing in the smells and colors of the world around her, or intently focused and aware of all that's happening. Her tenancy to get lost in her head is almost dangerous. Above the many things that catch her attention, she loves traveling and running. For the past six months, however, she's stayed at Anchor Alley until she's more skilled at hunting and fighting. Her pelt itches for unknown forests. Her strongest quality is her loyalty. Once someone has earned it, Apple won't stand for any offense against them, unless she trusts them to be strong. She acts as a shield and support for them, and a guide if necessary. She can think a bit much of herself, however.
Lives in Anchor's Alley.
Larkspur⎮ 14 Moons ⎮ Female
A soft, sleek, milky white she-cat with short fur, long legs, and tufted ears. She has pale blue-gray patches of faint tabby markings, and large blue eyes. Her eyes are a myriad of blue, the shade similar to the flower for which she is named.
Larkspur is the typical loner. She spends most of her time alone, rarely venturing out of her territory, not that she'd want to anyway. She's rather sheltered that way. She isn't what you could call hostile though, and is generally friendly to cats she meets, unless threatened. She is a pretty decent fighter but doesn't like aggressive situations, and avoids it as much as possible so she doesn't have to use the skills she does have. She has a tendency to be loud, and as a result has a sharp wit and tongue. Not exactly someone who's soft in the heart, if you catch the drift. Terrified of water so she stays well away from the harbor.
Lives in Maplewood Park.
Alou {Alouette} ⎮ 13 moons ⎮ Female
With tortoiseshells you get different hues of merle, black, red, white. With tabbies, you still have variety. With Alouette, you have beige and a light cream. In a way, it could be a blessing. Just simply and nothing too complicated but for her, it's not enough. There's no variations, she's just like her brothers and sisters. The only thing that slightly separates her from the lines is her large almond-shaped eyes are an alluring emerald, and her size is small, much smaller. Her life as a stray has deemed her stout and thin. Sure, small muscles create nice curves for her body, but when set next to the average sized cat, she's more then a couple inches under the cut. With that being said she is automatically not the best fit to be the best warrior, it's hard enough not to be knocked down by a gust of wind let alone a blow from a cat.
Alouette is somewhat of an intriguing creature, and truly brave. She's not adventurous, but when confronted with danger or a vicious brute of some sort, she can find her way out, and isn't afraid to stick up for herself. She isn't fierce or unkind, but she isn't a push over either. When it comes to any emotions, she is oblivious. She couldn't tell you what she's feeling, only that she is angry, happy, or sad. The basics. That's as far as her knowledge of emotions go. She doesn't understand love, but she's heard of it. She doesn't understand pure hatred, but she has felt it. Alou has locked her heart and emotions in a place she can't seem to find, and she doesn't really want to find either, or most of the time at least. So for the most part, Alou is a statue-face fae who keeps to herself. She can grow to become defensive and irritable without any proximate cause. Most of the time she is off on her own, drinking in the stars that she has concluded look lonely too.
Roams around the outskirts of Inner City and Knockturn Harbour.
Annie ⎮ 7 Moons ⎮ Female
A fluffy ginger kitten with big grey eyes. Her paws are slightly too big for her body, but she will grow into them, much like she will grow into her ears. Her fur is classified as ginger but in reality she's more like a strawberry blonde, heavy on the strawberry particularly on her ears, paws and tail tip. The rest of her is an amalgamation of redish-blonde. She is round, clearly very healthy despite being a rogue and she is clearly well taken care of. A former house cat through she remembers next to nothing of that life, having been left in a dumpster by two legs only to be found by Storm. She has a small nick in her left ear and a scar on her right cheek.
Enthusiastic, joyful and slightly snarky, she lives to laugh and cause mischief. Amongst her favorite activities is giving her guardian, Storm, grey hairs. One of her flaws is she is too curious for her own good, one of these little adventures gave her that tear in her ear. Another is that she is rebellious, she has no patience to listen to instruction and chooses to wander off. She will pick a fight with just about anyone and use Storm's name to keep herself out of especially dangerous situations. She has no boundaries. Of course, this was before her father died. He got sick so quickly– it surprised her, how such a big, strong cat like Storm could be taken down so fast by just a little mouse. After that, she disappeared and was presumed dead. She won't go home, but she still wants to leave. She just– she can't deal with it, she can't deal with going back and knowing her daddy wasn't going to be with her.
Wanders the City, avoids Storm's Shallows like the plague.
Stormie ⎮ 17 ⎮ Male Description ;; How to describe this majestic and elegant cat? For one, he is uncannily large, everything about him broad. He is jet black, diluted throughout his coat, with several (and I mean several) scattered hairs of white and paler grey. Black is the reigning color, however. He has a pale undercoat of white, so when he walks, he flashes his white roots. He holds himself with the confidence of a lion, with constantly narrowed golden amber eyes, flecked with orange around the outside, that bore into your soul. From his ears sprout 1 ½ inch black tufts of fur. He has a wide jet black nose. He has thick neck fur, making him look all the more broad around the neck. It is pale grey near his cheeks, and as it progresses, the grey becomes stormy, and horizontally striped white fur. His huge paws are jet black, with a smattering of white clubs, sprouting ivory colored claws. His thick furred, elegant tail is colored like a raccoon’s, with the same black found throughout his body with pale grey rings. His strangest feature however is his teeth defects, causing them to have grown two rows of needle sharp teeth, and overly large canines, the tip hanging just out of his mouth, making him look like he is always scowling. He is very lean, his family not being able to purchase cat food. He eats the mice and rats and other pests that he catches from the house. Personality ;; It doesn’t help the huge tom that he is overly brooding, preferring to shut himself away from all of reality. He is severely introverted, and is pistanthrophobic. Aside from those roots of his personality, his is very dutiful but sometimes finds it hard to commit loyalty, for fear of being betrayed. No, even when you earn his trust, he doesn't roll over for you, you still have to work. (WHAT D: It's called being pistanthrophobic) He does not handle empathetic situations very well, as he finds it very hard to relate to others. Despite being fearful and defensive against other cats, he is madly affectionate to his owners. He can't imagine his life without them, despite their poor state. Because of his social distancing, and the fact that he has never had to survive without humans to back him up, he will take a lot of adjusting to get out in the real world. However, his physical fitness and street smarts will give him some support. Faction ;; Former House Cat and Mouser, Inhabitant of Apple Avenue Companions ;; Stormie now roams the streets alone. Other ;; Born to a family of show cats, in Seashore Square, his teeth defects caused him to become worthless for show, and cast out into Apple Avenue. When a family of poor humans took him in when he was just a kitten, he quickly became attached to them. He earned his keep being a pest exterminator, eating his catch. However, when the family had to move to a place that would give the male a much better pay, they were forced to leave their beloved companion behind. Stormie waited for them, but they never returned. Heartbroken, he is now trying to learn how to survive.

House cats
Cosmo ⎮ 32 Moons ⎮ Male
Cosmo is your classic pampered seal point Siamese cat, with striking blue eyes. Looking more like a show-cat than anything, Cosmo has short cropped fur and his muzzle is covered in a dark brown mask, famous trait to the Siamese breed. The tom is very thin, not plump like your average house cat. Cosmo has little to no muscle, never having the need to fight for what he wants. His social standing gives him everything he should ever need.
Cosmo considers himself part of 'high society' and being to several successful cat shows has turned him to quite the aristocrat. He chooses not to associate with the 'city scum' and believes himself higher than all others. He is quite picky and only eats specific food from his owners. He finds no need for romance as she cats will fall to his feet, and care to his every whim. Thats how it went at the cat shows at least, and thats all he knows. Cosmo has never been taught to hunt, as he gets the easy meal from his owners twice a day.
Lives in Seashore Square.
Darth Vader (goes by Darth) ⎮ 19 moons ⎮ Male Darth is an odd looking creature. If you get close to him and really look at him then you'll see fine hairs, but in all reality he has no fur. His ears are large and bat-like making his narrow face even smaller and his two greenish yellow seem to pop out of his head. His skin is mostly pale pinkish color expect for a large patch of darker skin on his shoulder and two small spots on his right cheek. Usually his house-folk made him wear furs like they do. This young tom has too much energy in his thin framed body. He can't sit still for more than ten minutes. Constantly climbing whether it be the structures in his home or trees and fences outside. Darth is a chatter-box that doesn't have an off switch. He'll ask a lot of questions and is very nosy. Which will and does get him into trouble. He's very oblivious to his surrounds and has gotten himself lost a few times. Darth is also a coward and will talk even faster when nervous. Running is his first and mostly his only way out of danger. Fighting is not a strong suit of his. He's used to other cats giving him a funny look or commenting on his lack of fur so usually plays it off as a joke. Faction ;; House cat lives in Seashore Square Companions ;; So far it's just him living with his house-folk, but he loves company.

Relationships + Living Situations and Plot
Relationships + Living Situations
Red lives in Cutthroat Alley. Not interested in taking a mate.
Phoenix lives in Anchor's Alley.
Rosina and Susanna live in Maplewood Park.
Eclipse lives in Lake Lane. Eclipse lives alone.
Giovanni loves and leaves. He roams with Rabbit in the Inner City and haunts Lake Lane and Maplewood Park.
Chester haunts Storm's Shallows out of nostalgia and even a slight bit of anger.
Plot
Twolegs have been actively poisoning one of the few food resources for rogues and loners– the rats and mice that fill the city. The water has slowly become more and more rancid. Grumblings have been whispered, grumblings of leaving the city and seeking a home elsewhere. "Go to the Abandoned Nest on a full moon. Speak to any of the cats milling around”
The group is leaderless, Storm ate some bad prey and died of poisoning. Many cats want to be leader- but how shall they decide...if the Journey is continued at all?

Yo. I want to thank- oh, who am I kidding. All of you in the RP. I would also like to thank Redtrack, Featherwing, and Nebulae for forming together and creating The Glaring Journey (I was there too as the role of checking everything fit together, but I can't really thank myself). As the Original thread said, the old WCF needs a special mention too because of existing after all those years. That's about it- oh, and basically everyone else somehow involved here.

(Hello!) (I'll start with Giovanni, Rabbit, and Chester
The Inner City was quiet- as it had been after the Journey was gone. Two dark figures effortlessly bounded through the black, oil-coated streets, their yellow eyes glistening. The blue backdrop made their shadows seem to pop out in the darkness. They were talking- but their words weren't clear to anybody but themselves. "Signore, please. We've been traveling the city for a week! I have a splitting headache, our paws are coated in oil, and honestly, Signore, neither of us look very healthy. And I still have fleas." "Idiot- you speak in vain! We haven't found any she-cats, and I won't stop until we do." "Signore Giovanni, I can hear your stomach growling. Come on. We need to go to one of those Twolegplaces to beg for food." "And ruin my honor?" Rabbit paused, his stomach letting out a low, rumbling growl. "Signore, please. We really need to eat and get cleaned- maybe we can bunk in at a Twoleg nest like we've done before?" Giovanni didn't listen, his muzzle twisted into an annoyed expression. He continued walking down the ebony-black alley. Rabbit stopped, sighing and placing a paw on his empty stomach. It wasn't until Giovanni hissed at him to move on that Rabbit walked with him into the dark.
Chester was never a cat to stop often- but he really needed it tonight. His recent speech about the Journey ended in disaster- some crazy loner cat didn't agree with him and the night ended in a brawl. He plucked off a flea- the first one he had gotten in a moon- and licked a wide, red wound oozing blood through his yellow-orange pelt. He looked up at the night sky, squinting to see the few stars visible. They reminded him of Storm and Annie- the night before the journey, Storm promised Chester and Annie that on the Journey, they would see more stars than they could ever imagine. "Don't worry, Storm and Annie. You'll see the stars through me..." he said quietly, an edge of weariness to his voice. He set his head down on his scratch-covered paw and fell asleep, a smirk on his face as he remembered the two cats.

Larkspur ;; Maplewood Park
Larkspur couldn't stop tossing and turning in her nest under the large tree, unable to sleep. Shifting to face the sky, she gazed at the few stars that were visible in the dark blue depths, which were tinged orange from the city lights. She sighed. "Why did I ever try to go with them?" the young she-cat breathed, a saddening frown upon her face. She curled back up in her nest, facing away from the sky, and tucked her muzzle into her paws, drifting slowly into sleep.
Hawk ;; the Harbor
Hawk was crouched on one of the docks in the Harbor, gazing off into the ocean. He closed his eyes, relishing the soft sound of the waves lapping against the wood for a few moments. "C'mon, Hawky, get a hold of yourself," he whispered aloud. The striped tom struggled against the urge to cry. He shouldn't be crying, he was a grown cat, not a kit without a mother. "Stop it, stop it, stop it," he scolded himself, flicking his tail in annoyance that his sea-green eyes were still red from doing just that. But he couldn't help it. He couldn't get the image out of his mind. He couldn't rip out the feeling he got when he'd seen from afar Storm's dead body, how ever much he wanted to. His idol. Dead, just like that. It was all so surreal...

"Rosina, please." The russet-furred tabby was unusually desperate, her worried pumpkin-orange eyes gleaming in the midnight starlight. "You've been there all day. I've gotten some fish for the two of us-" "I don't feel like eating, Susanna." Rosina- listen to me. Being stuck in that maple tree will get you nowhere. Take your mind off of Toro, he's gone from your life. And Lady- I understand it's sad she's gone, but please... you need to come down." There was no answer for a second, and then: "I'm sorry, Susanna." Rosina's grave tone of voice made it clear she wasn't over Toro or Lady yet. Toro was young, bold, and attractive- his flaming orange pelt rippling in the midday breeze, his bright green eyes carrying a glisten that made him seem likeable and trustworthy. But he only loved Rosina for a week- then, his sights were set on Susanna and other ladies. It was only when Susanna refused him that he became so dangerously territorial- then he disappeared from the city after breaking up with Rosina, never to be seen again. Susanna's throat filled with burning, angry bile as she recalled him. Lady didn't help matters- she remembered trying to help her- the beautiful Seal-Point's blood spilling onto the sidewalk into the sewer drain, and her four kits being bathed in blood. Rosina and Susann tried to raise them, but none were to survive- Pebble, the weakest and smallest, died only an hour later from birth complications. Blue and River followed their little sister to the grave only a few minutes later, and then there was Puddle. Puddle was the only one to talk and the only one who lived past infancy- she was cared for by a kind loner who had kits of her own. However, the kit caught Greencough, and died surrounded by her adoptive mother and adoptive aunts. Susanna thought about it, her face hung in shame. I failed. I really failed this time- Puddle is dead and Toro is gone and Rosina is a nervous wreck. I planned everything out perfectly- why did it fail? she thought to herself somberly.
