Hello there. This is SavannaClan, the home of the swift and durable. No matter what obstacle that has faced SavannaClan in the past years since it has existed, the cats of this clan have overcome it. It has been victorious in its survival, mainly due to the resilient nature of the cats within, and the code it has put into practice.

Intro
Your paws thunder across the grassy terrain. Behind you, the ugliest creature you've ever seen is hot on your heels chasing you. It's making loud snorting sounds, and you know the outcome won't be good if it catches up with you. Ahead there is an odd-looking tree, and your paws tingle as you max out your capabilities of running speed. You lead upon the trunk of the tree, claws literally hanging on for your life. You look around, Did I lose him? No! There he is, stumbling out of the long grass. Your legs ache from running so hard, and they start to lock. Your losing your grip on the bark. The creature gets ever closer. A harsh growl calls out, "Over here! Quick!" You blink, turning your head. Where did that voice come from? Your legs lose their grip and you fall with a painful thud. A pair of glowing eyes appear from the ground of a dark hole to your right. "Get over here!" the voice says in a rush. But before you can reply, or even move, the cats darts out, grabs your scruff, and drags you toward the hole. You can't even feel fear of what the cat has planned because the creature that was chasing you is only a few tail lengths away. As the strange cat pulls you in the narrow hole, the creature brings down its tusks, and your tail gets crushed. You yelp in pain, and unable to move. The pain causes you to pass out. When you awake, a cat is tending to your tail. "W-who are you?" you ask. "That is our medicine cat, making sure your tail heals the best it can." the cat who dragged you down the hole before, replies. "It could have been a lot worse. That warthog could have killed you." he continued. "W-warthog?" you stammer. "That's right." the cat replied. "But we can teach you how to prevent that from happening. I am Featherstar. And this, this is SavannaClan."

About
The cats of SavannaClan must be quick on their feet and minds to catch their prey and evade their predators. Their pelt colors mostly consist of brown, gray, and other colors that camouflage well with their territory. Sometimes brighter colors appear as well. Climbing is essential for both hiding from predators and catching certain prey.
History
A number of years ago, SavannaClan was founded. It began with a small group of cats: Sunny, Twig, Thunder, Lotus, and Clover. Lotus and Twig's dream was to find a place where they could raise her kits and expand their group. After weeks of harsh traveling, they finally stumbled upon a place like no other: an abandoned reserve savanna. Lotus fell in love with it, and the group decided as a whole to settle there. Lotus couldn't think of a better name for their group than "SavannaClan", believing the land spoke for itself. There weren't many cats around in the area already, so Sunny and Thunder traveled outside of it to look for cats willing to join their group. However, the cats were not used to such a terrain, despite its beautiful appearance. A new predator, the warthog, could wipe out a single cat easily if they weren't careful around it. Because of this, not many joiners of the clan stayed very long. But Lotus was determined, and she found cats that could thrive in their environment. By the time her kits Rain, Petal, and Butterfly had reached apprentice age, the clan had expanded by ten cats. It wasn't until her kit Petal, mate Twig, friend Sunny, and a few other joiners died that she received a vision to find what would become known as the MoonCreek. It took her across the savanna terrain, and onto a rocky path that led to an opening in the mountainside. Water ran down the mountain on the other side, and when she touched the water, she instantly connected to StarClan, where she saw her loved ones and friends. They told her that she needed to establish a code, and that they would give her nine lives to lead the clan. One by one she was given a life, and became LotusStar. Soon after, her clan transformed and each cat given a traditional name and rank. ButterflyWing also received a vision such as LotusStar, but for a different reason: she became the first medicine cat and learned the use of herbs. LotusStar appointed ThunderClaw as deputy, and the clan has survived and thrived ever since despite challenges to their survival.

Territory
SavannaClan's territory is (shocker) a savanna-like terrain, that has similar weather patterns and predators/prey to that of an actual savanna. Their territory is mostly flat, with some rises and lots of grasses both tall and short. A bunch of mostly medium-length trees dot the whole land, really tall trees being a rarity. There is a mountain that is their north border, which is also where the MoonCreek resides. Important features:
MoonCreek - located just past their north border is the MoonCreek, which is up the mountainside. Leaders and medicine cats use this to connect with StarClan.
Sandy Cave - located west of their camp before Butterfly Meadow. Its entrance is a tunnel hidden next to large boulder. It is medium-large cave with a sandy bottom. Warriors train their apprentices here. Light is provided by a hole in the roof, on the opposite side of the boulder. Cats should be wary of this hole as they could fall down into it.
Lotus Stream - a long, thin stream of water running across the territory; used for drinking and sometimes for washing
Thunder Pond - a small to medium sized pond that can be used for fishing and drinking
Butterfly Meadow is their western border. In the spring and summer months, thousands of butterflies land in the various plants and flowers that make up the field. The butterflies attract birds, and the field terrain is home to many rodent-like prey, making the Butterfly Meadow a perfect hunting grounds.
Important Note: there is also random tunnels located throughout the territory, making it easy for the cats to hide from warthogs and other predators when they appear
Note: I am not very good a drawing and stuff, so, yeah... >.< But hopefully, it'll help to mentally see where everything is.
LIST OF PREY:
Rabbits - common - a common food source around the savanna territory; cats must be quick and sometimes work in teams to catch this
Sparrow - very common - found mostly in Butterfly Meadow and in some trees of the savanna
Finch - common - similar to sparrow
Fish - uncommon/common -
Spiny mice - uncommon - cats should watch out for the sharp hairs these mice possess
Quail - uncommon - not often preyed upon; tricky to catch, they usually need a team to take one down
LIST OF PREDATORS:
Warthog - uncommon - dangerous; should not be approached
Hawk - uncommon - dangerous for kits and small cats, and a cat who is alone; cats who see a hawk should hide in shadows or other coverage
Bat-eared fox - rare - not particularly dangerous unless a cat gets too close to its den; they're rarely seen and don't usually prey on cats, however, sometimes when they are desperate and really hungry they will, especially kits and apprentices
Other animals:
Gazelles - uncommon - Not a threat, except sometimes one will injure a cat while its running
Eagle - rare - Not a threat to the cats; the one or two that do show up hunt for fish in the pond
Camp
The camp is a large sandy clearing that is bordered with large branched trees and tall rocks, making it protected from both ground and air predators. It it located more towards the east than the west.
Leaders den - A large tree located in the middle of camp; a thick branch is used for clan meetings, and the leader sleeps in a space between the branches
Medicine cat den - a space protected by a rock, tree, and vines. The roots of the tree provide good storage for herbs, and moss grows thick on the tree trunk and rock. The medicine cat (and any apprentice) can sleep in a large space underneath one of the roots, and there's plenty of space in the den for sick or injured cats to stay.
Warriors den - a natural vine canopy that provides shelter and shade for sleeping
Apprentices den - a smaller vine canopy located right next to the warriors den
Nursery for Queens and kits - a very large, hollow tree trunk on its side. There are two entrances/exits, and it is located the farthest from the main entrance to camp.
Elders den - a sickle bush that has a canopy-like space inside of it. It has been intertwined with vines to make it sturdier.
Prey pile - located under a root of the tree of the leaders den

Welcome to the rules. Please read them all before joining.
โ This clan is on this forum, so please follow the forum rules
โ No Kit-______
โ Please be active, especially if you have deputy or medicine cat. Don't join and never come back, and if you know you will be gone let me know. I will be deleting members after a long time without coming here and attempts to bring this clan make to your attention. You can let me know if you want to leave this clan, that's fine.
โ Make as many characters that you can handle roleplaying. I do think that you should make at least two characters, just because you don't want to get stuck (otherwise, if you don't feel comfortable making two, then I have "free characters" that everyone can use down below - under kittypets - if needed to continue the roleplay and such. We can discuss you "adopting" one of these characters if you really like one.)
โ Keep everything at an appropriate age level, nothing too gory; similar to how the books are
โ Try to be somewhat descriptive with your roleplays; instead of just writing what your character is doing, include their feelings and thoughts, their surroundings etc.
โ We all make mistakes, so I don't expect you to have glowing roleplays; I just expect your best and for them to be understandable. ps put fun in your joining form
โ No perfect characters; everyone has their flaws.
โ There are lots of appearances cats can have, but no extreme colors. Eye colors I'm a bit more lenient towards, as long as it isn't red or pink lol i.e. I'd allow an eye color of dark blue with some shades of purple
โ I am open to a lot of names, but just remember that they're cats and not human characters
โ Please be nice to everybody, and don't exclude anybody; the only way this clan works is together
โ Please do not spam unless you're saying something like "JewelBird please come to this Clan or Page"
โ When not roleplaying, please use either {}, [], or () (unless you have a thing that says OOC, IC)
โ Also, please try to keep the genders even within their groups (apprentices, warriors, etc.) except for queens of course lol and the medicine cats. Though this isn't as important for loners / rogues / kittypets.
โ One last note: make sure cats are at an appropriate age if they have kits; the shortest age difference being 18 moons.

Featherstar is an average height, medium-sized light brown tabby tom with four white paws, white tipped tail, and white nose. His eyes are a pale, light blue. Featherstar is a fast learner to new things and his suspicions and take on new cats are usually correct. He can be generous and forgiving, but his trust is hard to gain back. He can be indecisive, especially when it comes to important decisions because he does not want to mess up or lose his clanmates respect or trust. He rarely gets really angry or raises his voice. / He was born in the Clan. He was in love with a she-cat, but she chose another mate. Her kit was Orchidpaw, and when both this she-cat and her mate died, Featherstar "adopted" Orchidpaw and treats her like a niece. / His father is Rainpelt and mother Waterlily. / Other /

Sunblaze can be described as the typical alpha-male physique. He is tall and broad-shouldered and has smoldering amber eyes. He has golden brown fur as bright as the sun. He blends nicely with the sand below his feet. If looks could kill, his gaze could definitely do so. Despite his rough exterior, he is loving and protective of his clanmates. He has a deep and foreboding voice, but a heart for others. Perhaps this is why StarClan chose him to change his path. Golden brown tom with black tabby stripes and amber eyes. He is calm, not really having an opinion on anything. He doesn't like getting caught up in drama, and can be pretty blind as far as social cues and feelings go. For example, he can't really tell if somebody finds him annoying or whatnot. Black she-cat with white speckles on her legs and head. Her eyes are a pale yellow color, and she is on the smaller side. She prefers to hang out in tunnels and doesn't mind swimming. In fact, she is most skilled at catching fish and usually only hunts other things when the pond freezes over in the cold weather. Her personality is friendly, and she doesn't know how to focus on one thing. As a result, she can get quite frizzled when under stress, and she frequently forgets to do certain tasks. / Born in the clan. / NA / Other /

Sandy colored tom with bright green eyes. His tail becomes a darker shade as it grows further from the body as do his feet. His underbelly, chest, and muzzle are tan just like his toes. Along his whole body are very faint tabby stripes that are thick. Sandyclaw is very protective and loyal of the Clan. His friends and family are protected at even a greater ferocity. The loyal warrior may seem tough and unfriendly but he actually loves communicating with others. He takes time to know each and every cat. To do this he remains mostly silent and lets others talk, leading most to believe he's shy and quiet. / Sandyclaw was born into the Clan. His mother and father were killed by a warthog and moons later so was his love. Ever since then he has become more protective of the whole Clan and those he loves. / All deceased / Other /

Very dark brown she-cat with golden-yellow eyes. Unlike most of her Clanmates she can be spotted easily among the grays and yellows of the savanna. However she has been able to survive the predators and catch prey because of the tunnels and holes covering SavannaClan territory. Eaglefeather is very friendly and happy but can have a sharp tongue if you give her a reason to have one. She can be angered easily and will snap at the smallest of things. She fears she will lose her friends because of it. Aside from the anger she loves talking to others and once she starts she doesn't stop. / Eaglefeather was born in SavannaClan territory. Her mother and father left the hole they resided in and never came back. Assuming they had died, Eaglefeather, then Eagle, decided to stay in their den. She feared she would share the same fate. But her sister Magnolia was determined to find their parents. She too never returned. This may be the cause of anger Eaglefeather possesses. She could be angry because she couldn't save her kin from, what she presumes, a terrible fate. / Believed to be deceased / Other /

Goldenfrost is a soft cream and white coated she-cat with green eyes. Her cream markings start around her eyes and above her nose and trails from her back down to halfway down her legs and all of her tail. Her white markings start at her nose and travel down to her neck, chest and all down her belly and lower legs and paws. She is a petite-looking she-cat whose wears her heart on her sleeve. Fernshade is a dusty brown bengal cat with light green eyes. She has dark brown spots along her sides and tail. The tip of her tail is a dark brown. Fernshade tends to be rather serious around clanmates she is not close with. She works hard to keep the clan safe and happy, often doing so without concern for her own safety and needs. She tends to be a perfectionist and likes to keep organized. She worries a little to much about others and likes to make sure everyone is doing well, although she has a tough time showing others how deeply she cares for them. / Fernshade was born in the clan and has lived in it since. She briefly considered leaving the clan when she met Sparrowclaw( Sparrow then) but as her whole family lived in the clan she couldn't leave it all behind. Instead Sparrow joined the clan and became Sparrowclaw. They had one kit together, Foxstrike. Foxstrike has a russet pelt and light green eyes. His fur is a darker ginger along his spine and forehead. Foxstrike is a quick learner, but often gets distracted from his original task. He briefly was a medicine cat apprentice before realizing he simply wasn't responsible enough for the role. He loves to joke and goof off even as a warrior and has trouble adjusting to his increased responsibility in the clan. He is a good fighter but fights in a very unorthodox manner, he forgets the name of moves he was taught as an apprentice and often makes his own for the fun of it. As he ages he will calm, but will always remain his goofy self. He prides himself on being easy to talk to and picking up on others emotions. He doesn't handle pressure or stress well and will often disappear when these feelings arise. He was a careless apprentice that was in no rush to grow up and for that matter, still isn't. He prefers to think he's taking the scenic route on life and not growing up to quickly. / Foxstrike was born into the clan and has lived there ever since. Stormpaw is a is gray tom with dark gray ear tips and a dark gray stripe running down his spine and tail. Stormpaw's eyes are dark blue, and he is absolutely horrible at looking innocent. He has not mastered his long legs and is slightly clumsy because of this. Stormpaw is usually social and a huge fan of fun, but once a cat gets on his nerves, he becomes frustrated as he doesn't know how to take out his anger. Light brown she-cat with light green eyes. Her eyes always seem to sparkle. Meadowpaw is very energetic and seems to annoy all her Clanmates. She's stubborn and pushy and rarely listens to other cats even her own mentor. However she has a reason for this. her father used to control her terribly and now she's afraid of being controlled. She still has nightmares about it. Some days she is grouchy because of this. / She was born into the Clan as were her parents. Her mother loved her and her brother but was afraid of her mate, Sandtail. He would flirt with other she-cats and she, Larkswoop, couldn't do a thing about it. One day both parents went out to hunt and only her father came back. Fearing he had killed her mother, Meadowpaw stayed away from her father as long as she could. Soon he began controlling her and forcing her to do all his duties. One day Meadowpaw hid from him and he stomped out looking for her. Acornpaw is a brown tabby tom with a lighter underbelly, chest, and paws. His eyes are blue just like his father's. Acornpaw is the exact opposite of his sister. Originally they had been the same but after their father controlled her she was never the same. Acornpaw is a replica of a perfect gentleman. He smiles and nods politely as he passes cats in camp and lets others go ahead of him out the entrance. He's quiet unless someone wishes to talk to him and fetches prey for the elders daily. His mother used to call him her little "gentletom" and he was horrified when she vanished. Ever since then he has had nightmares just like his sister though he doesn't know that. / Acornpaw watched as his sister, Meadowpaw, was controlled by their father Sandtail. He couldn't do a thing to help and he still thinks he's cowardly to this day. / Parents are deceased, Sister is Meadowpaw. / Other /

Bramblepaw is a small light brown tabby with light blue eyes. Her markings curve and swirl along her side in a crescent shape. The tip of her tail is the same dark brown as her markings. Bramblepaw is a hard working apprentice that can be a bit of a know it all. She's a people pleaser by nature and hates it when someone doesn't like her. Bramblepaw does her best to get along with everyone, even if they are rude to her. She loves to learn and answer questions, but has trouble with battle training as she tends to freeze. She can do every battle move when it's just her and her mentor, but when facing an opponent she freezes and mind goes blank. She's a fairly good hunter despite this, finding it much easier to catch a bird than another cat. / Bramblepaw was found by the clan as a young kit, her parents are presumed dead. Fernshade acted as her foster parent when she was young. / Kin / Other /

Light gray tom with dark gray speckles. He is very independent, even in his old age. He makes sure to tell cats "how bad it was in the old days" and how lucky they are. He says that he is entitled to his complaints, though he doesn't have many. He is a fierce fighter, even at an old age. Rogues, Loners, and Kitty-pets
Rogues and Loners
|| Silhouette || 34 moons || Loner || She-cat ||
Jet black she-cat with bright blue eyes and fluffy fur. Her tail is very long as are her legs. She loves to be up in the trees even though there aren't many. She lives in one of the few taller ones (though not that tall) right outside of SavannaClan territory. Occasionally she will spy on them, curious about Clan life. Silhouette knows it won't suit her though and keeps her distance from the cats lest they spot her. Silhouette is very quiet but very daring as she has lived on her own her whole life. She doesn't know how to communicate with other cats so she is sarcastic and rude. She is only loyal to herself. / Silhouette can't remember much about her history except she was not born around here. She remembers lush undergrowth and large trees. Then she remembers a twoleg hand lifting her up and bringing her into a twoleg nest. Silhouette remembers her mom crying out for her as she was taken out of her nest. Then she remembers moving very fast and ended up here. Once she was old enough to live on her own, her housefolk let her outside. Silhouette never returned and instead strayed far away from the nest. She scented cats and decided to make a home for herself right outside their territory. / Mother has unknown status, father is unknown / Other /

The idea behind the clan was mine. I organized and wrote everything, using traditional elements such as "About", "Allegiances", "News", etc. I also made my own code (the brown background with the solid and double border) for this as well. I made the map using Paint.The banner and dividers were made by Blossomshadow, and her shop is ---> Summer Sun Graphics <---

Featherstar lounged across the branch of his "den", although it was quite a bit more open than a traditional den. At least the leaves kept most of the rain off of him; not that the Clan had to worry about rain lately. Besides, having an open den had its perks. He could keep an eye on the activity of all his clanmates when they were in camp, and he didn't feel cramped or crowded in.
Orchidpaw stretched her whole body as she exited the apprentices den. The sun was just rising over the camp and she wondered about what tree she could climb today. Her favorite ones were in close proximity to Butterfly Meadow, where she could sit and watch colorful butterfly creatures fly all around from a distance. She continued to daydream, blocking the entrance to the apprentices den.
Rainpelt carefully climbed out of the bush that was his den. He noticed Featherstar laying on the leaders tree, and gazing down at the clearing. "I thought I raised that cat better." he grumbled quietly to himself. He had expected to see Featherstar already down from the tree and organizing cats and patrols. At least that was how it had worked with his leader, the leader before Featherstar. But, in his opinion, Featherstar was soft on his clanmates. "I suppose he can afford to be." he thought out loud to himself. Nowadays, living was a bit easier.
Tigerflame was curled up in a snug ball, still half-asleep. He peaked one eye open. Just a few more minutes... he thought to himself, as he yawned and re-positioned a little.
{{ So I'm thinking Meadowpaw could have Speckledsky as a mentor as she would treat an apprentice as more of an equal and wouldn't really boss her around Thunderlake }}
