- - Shatterfang
Shatterfang felt a low rumble escape from her throat, and the squirrel's ears perked up suddenly. As fast as she could she darted out of the bushes and pounced on the little prey. She let out a little victory "whoop" and turned back to Thornshade. "Should we start heading back now?" she asked with a tilt of her head.

littlesong42(I just began listening to Waitress recently, but I really love She Used To Be Mine, and Opening Up!) "Yes, everything is alright, thanks for asking!" She responded cheerfully. "Just a bit bored thats all, and you seemed bored as well. Just figured I would make some conversation." Stonestreak sat down and neatly wrapped her tail around her paws. oooo yay! She Used to be Mine is another fav of mine!) Tigerlight shrugged. "Well, my own apprentice decided to go off with Morningleaf without asking me first, so i do have some time on my paws." he turned. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Sounds like a plan," he mumbled around the bird.

Shatterfang picked up squirrel in her jaws and started back toward the camp, her tail swishing gently behind her. "So," she began in a slightly muffled voice. "What is your favorite thing about actually being a warrior? It's been a quite a few moons since apprenticeship, but I remember dreaming endlessly about things like this." She chuckled lightly, recalling her apprentice ceremony where she was nearly jumping out of her pelt.

- - Shatterfang"Yes, I'm okay. I was just looking out for prey. I thought I could get a better look if I went up there." Shatterfang smiled a little wider, gently swishing her thin black tail on the grassy forest floor behind her. "Don't worry, I'm just fine," she purred, recognizing that it was sweet of him to be so upset about it. Suspicions and reasons as to why we're starting to pop up in her mind, but it was a little to early to confirm her guesses. (They're at the Old Den. The abandoned twoleg place. X)) - - StonepawStonepaw hopped onto the top of the large fence, then quickly leapt over the bushes into the twoleg's old yard, now overgrown with herbs. On a long stone slab there was a weird rocking thing with a 90 degree bend in it made out of wood. As a light wind blew past, little hanging metal stocks clunked together to make a beautiful ringing sound. Wow. This is so cool! he thought excitedly. "Morningleaf, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. This is so-" He stopped when he remembered her reminder to sniff out scents first. When he held up his nose, he located the small scent of a mouse, a very old scent of twolegs and dogs, and several new smells he couldn't recognize if he tried. (Ok) "What's wrong?" Morningleaf asked, concerned that he'd gone silent. "Tell me what you scent, Stonepaw." she joined him where he stood; the only tempting scent she could smell was mice.

Thornshade thought about this question, recalling back when he was an apprentice, when all he wanted was some peace and quiet for once instead of constantly being followed by his brother or sister. "The ability to go wherever I want in the territory and just listen to the birds and watch the skies without anything bugging me." He stifled a purr. "And then when I'd come back, I'd catch a mouse or two and say I was out hunting."

Shatterfang nodded as they approached camp. "I remember my brother and I would do that in the beginning. Well, I never really wanted to; I wanted to hunt, but he always wanted to just get away from everyone, so he went with me." She chuckled and shook her head at their past selves. "Let's do this again sometime," she mewed as she came into the camp.
- - Stonepaw
Stonepaw turned to Motningleaf briefly, lowering nose again. "I smell a mouse and all this twoleg stuff. I think it's over..," he trailed off as he crept toward a bush. He heard a small rustling and suddenly leaped into the bushes. When he landed though, the mouse was not in his paws, but it was actually darting away under the fence. "Fox-brains," he hissed, walking out of the bushes. "Um, it got away..."

"It happens to the best of us," Morningleaf meowed, leaping down beside him. "No use crying over missed prey. But why do you think it got away?"

littlesong42(Do you like any other musicals?) "Not quite sure actually. I didn't think this far ahead." She grinned, glancing over at him. If my apprentice went off without asking me I would be furious.. The she-cat thought. What a great way to get confined to camp..

"I guess... I was too loud," he mewed thoughtfully, examining his strategy. "But it was kind of hard since I was in a bush. I don't know how to fix that." Stonepaw looked at the bush and bared his teeth fiercely. He would get the mouse next time. With of without that annoying rustling sound.
- - Shatterfang
Shatterfang dropped her freshkill into the pile, then lifted her head up to smile at him. "See you later, I guess," she mewed, turning and padding away. It was fun. I really should get out more. I'm starting to become a little isolated, she realized, recalling how much time she spent hunting by herself or sitting in camp with only her brother.

At the top is Chicago, then Something Rotton, Lion King, and Les Miserables, and then Into the Woods with Waitress and Hamilton at the end. Kinda a nerd )) Tigerlight chuckled. He'd have to discipline Stonepaw once he came back. "Do you have an apprentice, Stonestreak?" he asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

"Also, try to anticipate where your prey might go when you give chase," Morningleaf advised. "It's a skill you learn in group hunts called herding. As far as the noise, sometimes you have to move as slowly and delicately as a snake preparing to strike. A mouse will feel your movements through vibrations in the ground."

littlesong42(haha me too I relate. I got to see Lion King at the Fox Theatre a year or two back. It was amazing!) She shook her head. "Sadly no, not yet. I'm hoping to get one soon though." The she-cat meowed, trying to be optimistic. In truth she doubted she would get one as she practically was just made a warrior.

"Oh. Cool!" he mewed , revising his strategy. He probably should have gone around the bush, or made more of an attempt to be stealthy. Stonepaw briefly looked up, noticing the position of the sun. "Oh, I should really get back. I'm probably in trouble with Tigerlight." He started back toward the fence, looking back to see if she would come.

I got to see Wicked on Broadway in New York a while back in like March and I was literally sobbing by the end.)) Tigerlight nodded. "I'm sure Sparrowstar will give you Mosskit or Fogkit. If not, there's always Nettlepelt's kits. I can put in a good word for you if you'd like."

littlesong42(Thats amazing! I saw a bootleg oops) "Really? That would be great Tigerlight, thanks!" Stonestreak grinned. The thought of an apprentice was pretty appealing to her. She had always looked up to her mentor, which is why she was so excited at the prospect.

Tigerlight dipped his head. "Anything for a friend," he meowed. He glanced at the sun. "Stonepaw should be back by now. He must know how deep in trouble he is." Tigerlight already had a list of jobs for the naive apprentice to do.

But we can go back." she followed after Stonepaw, quickly climbing over the fence.

Stonepaw was glad he could count on her to back him up, but he was still worried about what his mentor would say. He hadn't considered it when he went off with Morningleaf, but now he had a small twisting feeling in his gut. As he padded through the camp entrance, he spotted Tigerlight and froze. "Oh h-hi, Tigerlight," was all he could really mutter.

Tigerlight turned to Morningleaf and snorted. "So that makes it alright?" He breathed out in a sharp exhale. "How was I supposed to know where to find you if something happened? I don't mind you taking him out to train, but surely his real mentor should know where his apprentice is at all times!" Tigerlight jerked his head to Stonepaw. "He's halfway through his apprentice training already, he should know to at least come to me and ask!" Tigerlight whirled back around. "No more training for the rest of the day. Instead, you will be cleaning out the queens' bedding, fetching prey for them, and checking the elders for ticks. (I know we don't have any. Just pretend)" He wrinkled his nose. "And wash your pelt. You reek of something awful."

"Oh well perhaps if you were around to train him he would have!" Morningleaf snapped, the fur along her spine standing up in anger. "Stonepaw was safe with me and he actually learned something, so if any cat needs to spend some time checking for ticks and cleaning their pelt it's you."

"Stonepaw was safe with me and he actually learned something, so if any cat needs to spend some time checking for ticks and cleaning their pelt it's you." Tigerlight narrowed his eyes. He knew that it wasn't good to fight with Clanmates, but Stonepaw was his responsibility, not Morningleaf's. "If you want an apprentice so bad go to Sparrowstar! But don't go taking my apprentice somewhere without my permission, and certainly don't talk to me about not training him!" Tigerlight unsheathed his claws and sunk them into the earth. "I have the right to be angry and to discipline him!"

"Well since you're such a good mentor why don't you ask Sparrowstar for another apprentice! Or Three! That way you can yell at someone else for trying to help you out!" Morningleaf shouted, her green eyes blazing with anger. She wasn't about to back down, not for anyone.

"This isn't about me getting as many apprentices as possible!" Tigerlight shouted equally loud. "I appreciate you training him but in the end he is my apprentice and I decide whether or not he goes with you or not!" Tigerlight's eyes glowered over Morningleaf. He wasn't going to back down to someone who is wrong.
