- - Stonepaw
"Yes! I've always wanted to go!" Stonepaw mewed, quickly padding off in that direction. Well, he assumed it was that direction even though he's never gone there. Excitement was just bubbling up within him and he wanted to get moving. The little tom sniffed the air for some sort of sign of the Old Den.

"If you want to try and find it on your own," Morningleaf began, "I'd start by heading upstream. From there, follow the scent of herbs; if you've ever been in the medicine cat's den, it smells pretty similar." She was fine with letting him explore, because she knew it would help him be a better warrior.

FernPaw put her nose in the air and closed her eyes and mewed in a whisper "I smell catmint, marigold, an assortment of herbs i can't recognize and stale mouse and fresh rabbit!" She said a bit louder spotting the rabbit

(Hey, since these guys are on the exact same place, wanna have them run into each other?)
- - Tallpine
Tallpine grinned and looked out for the rabbit. Once he spotted it too, he silently demonstrated a correct hunting crouch and motioned to the prey with his tail. It was a pretty big jump from here to the rabbit, but with the right grave and technique, she might be able to make it. The tom flicked his tail back and forth as it hung over the old wooden fence.
- - Stonepaw
Stonepaw nodded quickly, then with his nose held unnecessarily high up in the air, he padded off toward the faint scent. It took a few minutes, but he eventually found the stream and followed it toward the growing stench of twolegs. Normally he would have retreated upon finding this smell, but the fact that he was there defying it was actually extremely exciting. After a stretch of minutes, he noticed a weird square with a triangle on it in the distance. "Oh! Hey, Morningleaf, I found it!"

(Fine by me) "Good job," Morningleaf congratulated. "Now tell me what else you can smell. A good warrior is always conscious of their surroundings; danger could come from unexpected places. This twoleg den is abandoned, but where there is prey, there are predators."

- - Tallpine
"Really?" Tallpine looked up, scanning the area for the apprentice. He tasted the air, then caught the scent of Morningleaf as well. "Ah. That's strange. Morningleaf isn't his mentor as far as I know..," he mewed, turning to greet them when they padded up. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the rabbit was inching away. Eh, we'll get it later, he assured himself.
- - Stonepaw
The apprentice sucked a large gulp of air into his nose, then turned to Morningleaf. "I think..," he began, attempting to identify the familiar scents. "I think I smell Fernpaw and someone!" The apprentice smiled as padded ahead, thinking of ways he could possibly sneak up on them. But the way it looked, they had already noticed him. He saw the spindly tom state down at him and do a little smirk, which made him feel a little disappointed in his stalking skills. "Hi Fernpaw!" he shouted up at the other apprentice.

"Great job!" Morningleaf purred, following behind the apprentice. She enjoyed his energy, but she could also see how it might get him into trouble. "Remember to always check for scents'; you never know what could be around the corner."

(Hey guys! I'm back from my vacation! Me and my family went to Yellowstone in Montana and Wyoming. While I was there, I noticed the mountains had a lot of pine trees on them, and it got me thinking about PineClan. I decided I wanted a territory/camp change so it is more like the mountains. I have a list of things, and I would really like your opinion on them!
Territory: In a large valley between towering mountains, the territory is mainly long grass, clumps/forests of pine trees, and plenty of abandoned twoleg paths. In the valley are many rolling hills and smaller dips between them. These hills and dips are filled with gorse and sage bushes, new-sprouting (baby) pine trees, and wildflowers. Rocks making up many of the hills often have caves or small nooks in them. Some near the camp have been explored, revealing den-like structures. Caves farther from the camp are unexplored.
Important Territory Spots: (These will be mixed in with the original territory spots, replacing some and adding to others.) River - Water flows from the snow-capped mountains into a wide river. It flows into the waterfall after winding through the territory. Rapids and currents can get strong. Waterfall - a large waterfall tumbling down blocks of stone (abandoned twoleg steps now eroded away by water and rock). The waterfall is on a ridge above the camp and turns into a small brook that runs through the camp and empties into a lake on the far side of the territory. Dead Forest - on sloping mountain walls, the pine trees are barren. Many have been uprooted by landslides or storms, others are bent in odd ways. There are multiple dead forests around the territory; usually on mountain walls, sometimes mixed in with fresh pine trees. Lone Tree/Lonely Point - A spot above the camp opposite of the waterfall is a large rock with a single pine tree growing from it. This is the place to speak to StarClan, keep guard over the camp, or just to stargaze. Cats must be careful though: on both sides is a sheer cliff. It is opposite of the waterfall. Lake - A small lake on the edge of the territory. Next to the plateau. A small brook that ran through the camp empties into the lake. The Plateau - next to the lake, the plateau is a cheer cliff face that gradually sloped into a flat piece of of land at the top. Occupied by springy moss and soft dirt rather than rocks, this is a good place to hunt. Overlook - a large rocky outcropping on the mountain covered with grass. The rock juts over the land and creates a nice outlook for watching borders and predators. Rockfall - a place not far from the camp where a landslide came down before many of the cats were born. This created a large rockpile and is the point place for sunning, hunting, and climbing practice. Abandoned Thunderpath - an old thunderpath winding down the mountain and around the borders. The thunderpath is ridden and broken up with overgrown plants. Cats have followed this trail to see where it leads, but it gets too high and too cold that they had to turn back. Sunrise/Sunset Mountain - The tallest hill int he territory. Pine trees are all along the sides, but the top is flat and bare. It is the perfect place to watch the sunrise and sunset. The name varies depending on the time of day. near the camp, but still a ways away because of the slopes leading up to it. Barren Canyon - A large canyon winding through the mountains. The river is what goes through it. The walls are so sheer and smooth that it is hard to climb out. Cats must be careful when coming across the edge of the territory in case they come upon the steep drop . Filled with beautiful colors, the canyon has two large rapid falls and barely any fish or other prey.
Camp: (The camp is pretty much the same but i made some adjustments) The camp is around a brook caused by a waterfall. Sand/soft dirt is on one side with large pine trees growing out of it (roots are able to be seen. They create different levels in the camp). Paths up a ridge lead into the territory. On the other side of the brook is grass and the dens. On the north side is a sheer rock cliff/Lonely Point that protects the camp and large pine trees act as protection for the west and east sides. The south side is where the sand and a soft ridge with the paths/entrance are. A large barren log acts as a bridge over the water so cats can get from one side to another. The water isn't that deep so they can wade if they want to. Another option is flat stones risen above the water level that lead across. The Clan leader calls gatherings from a small tumble of rocks on the sand side.
Dens are all the same, but on the grass side. Take into account the camp change when looking at the dens.
Predators: Bears - Bears are very rare. Grizzlies are very rare, but black and brown bears are less but still very uncommon. Deer - they aren't exactly predators, but are easily spooked and their hooves can cause injury. Moose/Elk - Both are rare. Elk aren't particularly violent. They are much like Deer. Moose are much more violent and will charge. Wolves - mainly seen at dawn, dusk, and twilight, though they are also somewhat uncommon. They are less rare than bears. Foxes - they are slightly different. They will still attack on sight, but only sometimes retreat from their dens. Best seen near dusk and in the morning. Buffalo - very common. They are usually gentle, and are only gentle if provoked. Smakes - found under bushes and in the ground. They are common, so be careful where you step! Horses - Like deer, usually gentle, but easily spooked. Twolegs - They are rare, because the thunderpath and twoleg paths are abandoned and plant-ridden, but once in a while they come and set up an odd flimsy shelter (tent) and stay a few nights. Don't usually bother cats.
Prey: (Prey is mostly the same) Mice, Squirrel, Chipmunks, Marmots (I clumped these together because they pretty much are the same) Birds (any type, but sparrows, thrush, and ravens are most common.) Gorse/Sage - These are types of land birds found in the gorse and sage brush. Pheasant (I didn't group this with birds because they are much bigger. Fish (Minnow, trout, sunfish, carp, walleye, salmon) Vole Rabbits
CATS SHOULD HAVE THICK PAW PADS FOR CLIMBING AND STRONG HIND LEGS.
Please tell me what you think and give suggestions! I am always open for ideas. Also, anyone who's ever been to Yellowstone and remember what it was like, please tell me if i missed something. I purposely left out the geysers and hot springs because that is just too dangerous for cats.))

"Okay, Morningleaf," he mewed, turning his head to face her. "But trouble is my middle name! Stone-trouble-paw!" Stonepaw smiled widely and looked back at the two on the fence. He was excited to finally be on an adventure, and he would definitely have to remind himself to listen to her words.

- - ShatterfangShatterfang searched the trees for some kind of animal that could wander by, then looked down at the forest floor. A bird had landed near Thornshade! "Thornshade, look!" she whispered loudly, leaning forward. "There's a-" Suddenly she leaned too far, and the she-cat felt herself slip off the branch. She hit another branch as she free fell, then another, her claws scrambling to grab it. A moment later she hit the ground and let out a groan of pain. Ooo, everything hurts.., she thought, starting to shift her weight to sit up. Luckily it hadn't been too big of a fall, but she hadn't been prepared for skydiving like that. (I responded to Thornshade, Littlesong. )

Thornshade yet out a yelp as Shatterfang fell to the forest floor. He rushed to her side, padding anxiously around her, checking to see if she was okay. "What happened? Are you alright? Did you break anything? Why were you in that tree in the first place?"

Tigerlight gave up looking for his apprentice when he smelled his and Morningleaf's scent mingled together. Knowing Stonepaw was in good paws, he crossed the fallen tree and sat in the sand on one of the tree roots.

Her side hurt a little from the fall, and there was a small scratch on her foreleg from that tree branch, but she didn't seem to be majorly hurt. "I think I'm good. Sorry, it's just that there was a bird right over-" She stopped when she looked over to the spot the bird had been in, realizing it must have flown away after she crashed. She noticed the way he was quickly moving in circles around her and smiled up at him. "I'm fine. It was just a case of my trademark clumsiness." The she-cat chuckled and stood up, then swiped a twig out of her fur. - - Stonepaw"That's the dream. For my enemies to run when they hear my name," he mewed, confidently puffing out his grey chest. Then he found himself looking out at the Old Den, wondering what's possibly inside. "Can we go in now? I want to see some freaky stuff!" Stonepaw jumped up excitedly, inching toward the gate.

"Yes, I'm okay. I was just looking out for prey. I thought I could get a better look if I went up there." Shatterfang smiled a little wider, gently swishing her thin black tail on the grassy forest floor behind her. "Don't worry, I'm just fine," she purred, recognizing that it was sweet of him to be so upset about it. Suspicions and reasons as to why we're starting to pop up in her mind, but it was a little to early to confirm her guesses.
(They're at the Old Den. The abandoned twoleg place. X))
- - Stonepaw
Stonepaw hopped onto the top of the large fence, then quickly leapt over the bushes into the twoleg's old yard, now overgrown with herbs. On a long stone slab there was a weird rocking thing with a 90 degree bend in it made out of wood. As a light wind blew past, little hanging metal stocks clunked together to make a beautiful ringing sound. Wow. This is so cool! he thought excitedly. "Morningleaf, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. This is so-" He stopped when he remembered her reminder to sniff out scents first. When he held up his nose, he located the small scent of a mouse, a very old scent of twolegs and dogs, and several new smells he couldn't recognize if he tried.

"Thanks, Thornshade. It's nice of you to worry," she lisped through her broken tooth, looking around for a good spot to catch another bit of prey. "Sure. Follow me. I smell something over there I think." She crept into the bushes slowly, scenting a squirrel somewhere around. When the she-cat spotted the little creature in a small clearing, she squinted and flicked her tail for him to go around. Maybe they could ambush it together.
