"Okay," said Hickoryfoot, dipping her head. She looked around one last time before signaling with her tail to get started. She began walking for the entrance. The tow warriors and apprentice followed her to the entrance and past. "Volepaw, which border should we head for?" asked Hickoryfoot, testing her apprentices knowledge. |

"Let's see about finishing, then, okay?" She looked at the other warriors on the patrol. It had been a little since she had led a patrol, but these looked like good choices for it. |

Dawnlight kept up with Hickoryfoot without leaving the impression that she was trying to take over the patrol. Rosebriar stayed at the back of the patrol ears and nose twitching as she kept a look out for signs of danger. Volepaw stayed at his mentor' s side taking in all the sights and smells noticing nothing unusual. |

"Rosebriar, please renew the scent markers in that direction. Check to make sure that that fox that was reported six sunrises ago still isn't hanging around please. Hickoryfoot shook out her fur as they entered camp again. It had started to drizzle ever so slightly just when they had started to head back, but it might clear up soon.
"I'm beat," she muttered. Being a warrior was too much work.
