Oops, sorry, Owl!)
Lionpaw grinned at Dropletleaf, his mind already racing thinking about the other apprentices. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" he said, reminding himself to thank his father for giving him such a wonderful mentor. "What are the other clans like, Dropletleaf?"

(Totally fine, I've done it myself before)
Dropletleaf exchanged a look with the apprentice. "I can tell you, but first, did the elders tell you about the Clan history?" She smiled playfully.

Lionpaw was intrigued. He could feel a story coming up, and listened intently. "No...", he said, putting on a questioning grin and playing along happily.

Dropletleaf started to imitate the elder's old raspy voices. "Back in my day, there were only four Clans in the forest. WingClan, ThornClan, FernClan, and LeafClan."

Lionpaw looked at Dropletleaf with wide eyes. He giggled slightly at her impression of an elder. It was just like hearing one of them tell their stories while he cleaned their den.

Briarstar have a relieved sigh, his fur lying flat and his eyes settling. "You always know the right things to say." He smiled happily. The leader glanced over at his son, Lionpaw. This would be his first gathering. "They better behave tonight," the leader chuckled, "or I'll have them cleaning the elders dens for moons!" There was a slight joking in his voice, yet he meant it to be serious. If his kits did get out of line, he would not hesitate to punish them.
___
Perchheart's hackles raised. "Just hunting!?" He growled, his eyes changing to a bright, burning amber- close to red- a sign of a FernClan cats' anger. "This is rightful FernClan land! This land feeds us, and we cannot afford to have rogues picking off what slim pickings we already have!" Well, that wasn't quite true. Hunting was plentiful in new leaf, especially at Frog Ponds. Still, the older toms black pelt was glistening with fear as he thought of his kits going hungry in an extremely cold leaf-bare. If they didn't be careful of what they had now, they might not have enough for the harsh winters! He would not stand for it!

Dropletleaf kept up the imitation. "Back then, there was this bad leader leading WingClan, his name was Thrushstar. He was one of those cats that loved to fight, he and his Clan battled relentlessly."

Riverheart smiled softly as she saw her mate relaxing again. Her eyes turned to their kits, and she was happy to see Otterpaw practising some hunting moves and Lionpaw chatting eagerly with his mentor. "Relax, they'll make excellent impressions at the gathering. They're sweet, well-behaved cats, and I have no doubts that they'll make us proud", she said confidently. She was just as concerned with raising their kits to be repectful, strong cats as Briarstar was, but she also acknowledged that they were going to make mistakes along the way. They would be made very aware that what they did was wrong, but she wouldn't be as harsh in her punishments as her mate. However, making them clean the elder's den for the next moon, wasn't something she would object to. They needed to learn that life was harsh, and that their actions had consequences. (When will you learn that your actions have consequences?! One of my fave memes, lol)
Lionpaw nodded eagerly to Dropletleaf, urging her to continue her story.

Briarstar nodded agreeingly. "But, sometimes they get a bit too overeager." He said with a slight laugh as Lionpaw was basically jumping at Dropletleaf's feet for her to finish the speaking. He glanced up at the sky. "We should get a move on, and a lot faster. They might start the gathering without us."

Riverheart laughed heartily at Briarstar's comment about Lionpaw. "I'm not going to disagree with you there. And you're right, we should probably get going", she said, gracefully jumping to her feet.

Dropletleaf was glad she had such an enthusiastic apprentice. "Eventually there was a battle that Thrushstar ordered his Clan to attack. It was a pointless battle, WingClan won some of ThornClans territory for no apparent reason."

"How awful", Lionpaw said. Fighting a huge battle just for some territory you didn't need? He had a hard time picturing something more meaningless.

Lionpaw held his breath. He was already sucked into the story, like he tended to. Even as a kit he had a way of immersing himself in every tale the elder's could tell him. Now he had heard them all, so he was very happy to discover that Dropletleaf actually knew one he didn't.

Dropletleaf swished her tail while walking. "The Clan drove Thrushstar out. But then, they couldn't decide on a new leader!"

Lionpaw bobbed his head along to what she was saying. He looked at her with large eyes, trying to imagine how the WingClan cats would settle this problem.
I've got Otterpaw free, I think)

Dropletleaf stared into Lionapaw's curious eyes. "Evetually, they decided to split into two. very small, Clans. HawkClan and OwlClan, our Clan. ThornClan agreed to switch places with HawkClan, finding that they wanted to have better territory. HawkClan adapted to their new location."

Sure thing, littlesong42) When the meeting was over, Otterpaw was left wondering what to do. Usually she'd go to her brother, but he seemed to be absorbed in a conversation with Dropletleaf, and she didn't want to disterb. Her own mentor was nowhere to be seen, so she thought that maybe it would be a good idea to practise some fighting moves on her own. If she was going to meet cats from other clans she wanted to make a good first impression, especially since she knew her father would be very disappointed if she appeared inferior to other apprentices. As his only kin, she and Lionpaw would be representing Briarstar, and thereby also the whole clan. Otterpaw's main strength was hunting, so she really struggled with the maneuver she was trying to do. If only there was an older warrior here that could help her in the absence of Whispernight. Lionpaw was astonished. How come he'd never heard this story before? "Is that why both HawkClan and OwlClan have wings? Because they come from the same clan?" he asked, his mind racing.

Dropletleaf nodded. "We've grown to adapt, but we all still have wings. The greatest rivalry reamins, to this day, between HawkClan and OwlClan."

Peppermint; Yelping, the small cat's light green eyes grew with fear and anxiety swelled in her chest. A lump in her throat formed, and she had to speak over it. I didn't know letting cats outside of the clans live was a misdemeanor here... She thought, stepping back away from the clan cat. Her wing nearly got caught on a twig if she hadn't jerked it back very suddenly. She began to avert her eyes, trying to back down but realizing she had no where to go. "I..." Her voice had begun to shake, but Peppermint had to force herself to make it stop. "I didn't realize that the clans th-thought life outside of theirs was pointless." She tried to meet his gaze, but found that she could not. She had made a bold statement, and felt she was sure to be attacked at this point.

[ Owl, FernClan cat's don't have wings ]
By this time, Perchheart's eyes were like burning flames. "Excuse you!?!" He hissed, his pelt growing somewhat darker than his usual fur- like that of smoke from a raging forest fire. "We do what we can to keep our own alive; we put the clans above loners like you. Do you really think we'd sacrifice our families for creatures we don't know? Of course, we value lives, but not above those of our kin! It is a warriors duty to put our clan first, but of course you wouldn't understand that!" His claws had scraped the grass right from under his paws, and his tail lashed back and forth, fuming from the disrespect from this cat. Did she really have the nerve to say that the clans were that horrible of monsters!? Not in the least!

DragonessLeafspots wandered around until she spotted Otterpaw. An apprentice? She thought. Battle moves? They're doing the maneuver all wrong! Leafspots padded over to the the apprentice, her tail flicking. "You have that move mixed up," she snipped. She tried to be less snappy, but a harsher tone crept into her voice. "I'll show you, and you copy me." she did the move almost perfectly, except for a minor misplacement in her tail. "You got that?"

Sorry for taking so long to reply!)
Otterpaw watched intently as Leafspots showed her the move. While the warrior's sharp tone made her a little bit uncomfortable, that wasn't going to stop her from taking the oppertunity to learn. She noted the way the she-cat distributed her weight, and when it was her own turn to try, she mimicked it. Suddenly it was much easier to keep her balance, and the maneuver went a lot better than the first time. Of course it wasn't anywhere near perfect, but Otterpaw couldn't help but grin at her progress.
Lionpaw nodded, and felt his blood rush from a mixture of worry and excitement. He was going to meet these strange cats that Dropletleaf described! He wondered what winged cats were going to look like.
We should probably switch to the gathering page now. I'll see you there!)
