Doepaw sat down and lifted her paw, preparing to strike at the first fish that got close to the shore. She saw a medium-sized trout about to swim by and she plunged her paw into the water, her claws hooking into its skin. She quickly pulled it out and held it down with both her paws to prevent it from falling back into the river. Once she gave it the killing bite, she licked the blood of her whiskers. "I got one!" The apprentice waved her tail happily in her success. Rainstar
Rainstar licked her paw, running it over her long whiskers and pointed lynx type ears. "Thats great Doepaw." She purred, picking up her fish in her jaws. "That was almost a perfect form." She paused for a second before continuing. "I would strike a little faster. Fish tend to be slippery and quick, especially in deep rivers and streams." She pointed out, sheathing her claws.

Stormfire brushed his fur against the camp wall as he felt the warm sun begin to heat up the camp. Stepping aside, the tom padded over to the fresh kill pile. Licking his lips with hunger, Stormfire noticed the water vole, he had caught earlier in the day. Bending down his head, he sniffed and then picked up a small bird, intent on leaving the larger prey to the elders or kits.
The tom scooted over to a shaded part of camp, usually his favourite place to cool down from the blazing sun. Other than my nest! Smiling he looked around camp, and could see that it was as normal as ever, with cats leaving camp for hunting or patrols, and other things.

Vixenpaw twitched slightly in her sleep, her nest poking her uncomfortably. She was curled up tightly her fluffy tail covering her face. The slow rise and fall of her sides began to speed up as she stirred. She lifted her head and opened her eyes, looking around, squinting as her eyes adjusted. Hawkpaw was still snoozing not far from where she was. She slowly got to her paws, streching in the same motion. She stepped over Hawkpaw as she headed for the entrance. The camp seemed to be bursting with life with most of the Warriors already out and about. Vixenpaw padded towards the fresh kill pile. She grabbed a musky brown rodent and laid down by the Medicine Cats den.

Stormfire could notice the apprentice pad out of the apprentices den. Blinking, he waved his tail to Vixenpaw, to say 'Good morning!' Stormfire finished off the small brown sparrow and licked his lips before sitting up and grooming his ruffled grey fur. Grooming his shoulder with strong rasps of his tounge, the tom began to ponder, Stormfire did not see the presence of their leader, Rainstar. Probably gone out with an apprentice, like Doepaw or someone.

Vixenpaw looked up from her meal, spotting the grey tom walking towards her. She dipped her head slightly and swallowed what was left of her meal. She buried the bones quickly to and sat up to greet the warrior. 'Good Morning, Stormfire." she greeted, her whiskers twitching. She glanced around quickly for her mentor before returning her gaze to the warrior. "I can't seem to find my mentor. I know you went out on hunting patrol earlier, but could you take me out hunting?"

Stormfire looked around, "I dont see amberfoot anywhere, and i was just about to go out hunting again. Soo" The tom thought, There is a chance that Vixenpaws mentor would have gone out already and usually its the mentor that takes there apprentice out hunting. But I cant see Amberfoot anywhere. "Alright" Stormfire finally answered, "But its your mentor that should be doing this anyway." He looked at Vixenpaw, and noticed how desperately she wanted to hunt.

"I can't learn to hunt without her though." She stood up, getting to her paws, bounding towards the entrance. The sooner she learns everything the sooner she'll get her warrior name, she thought as she went to over the entrance and out into the vast territory. Getting out of camp will be nice, fresh air for once she thought, she lifted her nose outside of the entrance. She didn't want to hunt right by the entrance, it'd make her feel like a kit, but she was giving Stormfire a minute to catch up as she kinda took off without warning.

"Can you smell anything?" The grey tom could already scent the presence of prey, but did not show it as he wanted to see how Vixenpaw would cope. The warrior looked around and pondered, This is a great place to hunt. It looks as if prey would flourish here.

Cloudedpaw sat off to the side of the apprentices' den, his eyes locked in focus as he practiced his hunting crouch. Always one for perfection, he wanted to make his crouch as steady as possible. An unsteady crouch meant lost prey, and he wasn't about to be the cat who failed in getting food for his clan.
Raventwist was just waking up from a nap, yawning as he blinked the sleep from his eyes. He'd gone out hunting alone at sunrise, and had promptly fallen back asleep when he returned. quickly swiping a paw over his face, he looked around to see if there were any other cats around.

Rainstar's tail laced a pattern in the creek behind her, sending some tadpoles into a distressed flurry. "Yes, I believe you should try again." She pushed the fish that Doepaw had caught over to where the other three were that Rainstar had swiped while wading in the waters for Doepaw to catch a fish of her own. She took a seat, wrapping her feathery tail around her soft kitten like paws. "Think like a fish." She suggested, "Fish aren't very smart and tend to go to places that are shady in the water, to hide. The slower fish are the fatter ones." She waited for Doepaw to make her move. |

Raventwist noticed Ferntail, flashing a smile as he stood and stretched. He walked over to the other cat, a smooth expression on his face. "Hello Ferntail." He greeted her with a slight dip of the head, "How's prey running for you?"

The she-cat gave a warm bubbly smile. Maybe he isn't so bad Ferntail had been skeptical of almost every cat, growing up as a rogue she never hung out with cats. But now in a clan, she'd have to get used to it. Her whiskers twitched and her eyes glazed with amusement as he strides over. "Preys running too fast." She replied, trying to be humorous. |

Ferntail chuckled softly, licking a tuft of her chest fur. "Yeah..." She trailed off as she stared intently at a crow that had flapped away. She snapped out of her thoughts, turning her head back to Raventwist. "Anyways, Raventwist are you excited to inherit an apprentice?" She flicked the tip of her tail. "I overhead Rainstar talking about assigning us apprentices." She said with her usual bubbly expression. |

Raventwist's expression softened into one a bit more genuine and kind. He'd wanted to train an apprentice for a while. He was fond of their energy and optimism, no matter how much he teased, and loved watching young cats grow up and shape their personalities. Perhaps it was odd of him, but it left him rather nostalgic. "I am, actually." He said to Ferntail, "I'm curious as to which one I'll be assigned."

Raventwist's expression softened into one a bit more genuine and kind. He'd wanted to train an apprentice for a while. He was fond of their energy and optimism, no matter how much he teased, and loved watching young cats grow up and shape their personalities. Perhaps it was odd of him, but it left him rather nostalgic. "I am, actually." He said to Ferntail, "I'm curious as to which one I'll be assigned." Ferntail
Ferntail purred softly, admiration growing for not only the toms smooth voice, but the thought of basically raising a young warrior. "I'm sure we'll get amazing apprentices." She smiled, purring softly. |
