Ridgefall knew his soul mate and he knew exactly what he was trying to do. The clan needed something to listen their spirits and one of the best ways to do that was a warrior ceremony. The senior warrior approved. However, he could tell the clan had a lot of mixed feelings. Looking at Poppypaw, he could tell his apprentice felt the same. Ridgefall needed to show her support and strength in this difficult time. He slithered through the crowd to join Jayshadow and the apprentices, brushing against the she-cat to try and set her at ease.

Poppypaw looks at Ridgefall, giving him a small smile. She felt better with his reassurance, and her whole demeanour changes. She stands taller, prouder, and looks up at Rabbitstar without any thoughts about whether it was the right thing. She could feel her brother do the same. She stands bold like the warrior she wishes to be.

Rabbitstar's heart began to be more at ease. The clan would be cheered up a little after an inspiring warrior ceremony. They'd be distracted from the sorrow and the accusations. He flashed a glance at Skullpaw. Having discovered his soul color so late in his apprenticeship, the leader had no choice but to delay his ceremony even further. "I, Rabbitstar, leader of TempestClan, call upon our ancestors to look down upon these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code and the gift of projecting your champion Stormstar has taught us. I commend them to you as warriors in turn." Eyes flashing with pride, the dove-gray leader almost felt like he turned purple (his own soul color) as his soul glowed. He had great apprentices and great mentors in his clan. "Bramblepaw, Poppypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, to safely project your soul, and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

--Silvernight was a little annoyed about the ceremonies all taking place at once, though she knew logically it was to try to lift spirits and relieve some of the seething emotions that had come out with their medicine cat's death. Logically, it made sense. Personally, it only angered her more. If it was Rabbitstar's fault the tom had died, this could be considered a cover-up. Silvernight took a few deep breaths to calm herself, figuring it shouldn't matter - there were plenty of other things to worry about in the near future, and as long as her friends and family were safe, she wouldn't make a scene. She bumped her soulmate's shoulder gently with her own, reassuring herself he was still there and okay for the time being, a surge of protectiveness flowing through her as she half listened to the proceedings.
--Firewhisker went with the punches easily, his mood changing throughout the ceremonies. He was upset with the death of the medicine cat, and extremely worried, and then the tiniest bit hopeful as Tumblekit became Tumblepaw. He didn't particularly dislike the rapid succession of ceremonies, though he felt it would be easier to process the news from the day if it were broken up throughout a few more days. Ignoring his slight grievances, he listened, the only sign of the small turmoil in himself the tiniest of tail lashes.
--Brokenpaw was too consumed with worry about the kits and elders to notice much of the other proceedings, though his ears perked slightly with the warrior ceremony starting. He half listened to that while trying to think of ways to make the season easier on everyone, feeling a twinge of pride and jealousy under his worry and rushing thoughts. Briefly he considered when his own warrior ceremony would be, but found it a little selfish to entertain the notion and quickly threw it out. The kits, the elders, the kits, he repeated to himself silently, mind once again racing with options for how to help.
--Moonkit was horrified with everything happening, but couldn't seem to peel away from her view. She felt her heart sink worse than anything, and could only half pay attention to the medicine cat apprentice and warrior ceremonies. Why were ceremonies being held?! It was a time for warning - and probably panic, if her emotions had anything to say about it. What would they do? And why hadn't Icewing woken on her own? Was the only queen in the camp in danger of dying without a medicine cat? Moonkit whimpered slightly and backed away to lay near her adopted mother, scared and seeking comfort.

"I do," they meow at the same time. Their pride could be heard in their voices, as they look up at their leader with shining eyes. Poppypaw's tail flicks excitedly. She couldn't wait to hear what her warrior name would be. Bramblepaw is calmer, a warmth in his eyes, as he looked rather happy with a tinge of sadness.
Pebblegaze looks away to glance at Silvernight, a small smile on his face. Apart from affection for Sorrelwing, Honeysong and Stonewhisker, as well as his own former apprentice, he was especially fond of Silvernight. He gently presses his shoulder against hers to show her he was there for her, before looking back at Rabbitstar, the elderly tom very happy with how the clan meeting was turning out.

Meadowlark looked over at the cats all around her. She was happy for the new warriors, and the new apprentice, but it did not ease her fears. This winter would be troublesome at best, and dangerous in the least. All around her was the calamity of emotion, fear, happiness, anger, pride, guilt. It was easily seen in the flickering of faces and mumbled words. Apprehension filled the air with tension on top of it all. She contemplated then on the kits in the den and those who faced illness already. What were their chances over the next season? It could not be good.
Highstone sat, head held high and body straight, his tail wrapped tensely around himself. He understood the danger and yet he had no alternative ideas, but expecting so much of a brand new apprentice? How was the young one supposed to learn such an obscure skill as medicine? He could not know, and simply wished for someone to talk to about these issues. But everyone would be too busy trying to survive over the next moons, and he knew such things were unlikely.
Fawnpaw looked happily at the newly made warriors, proud of their accomplishments, even if their ceremony had been rushed and untimely. She could only wish that hers would come with better things and seasons, and that she would deserve it thoroughly.

The gray tom's smile widened as he said the final words, "Then with the power of StarClan, I name Bramblepaw Bramblequake; for his boisterous and unabashed determination. And I name Poppypaw Poppyflower; for her kind-hearted spirit and gentleness. May you both use these gifts to help the clan for the rest of you warriorship." Then, finally, the leader bowed his head to touch his nose to their heads in turn, slowly, so they would have the chance to lick his shoulder in return.
------------
Icewing awoke, at last, to the sound of the crowd seemingly chanting the names of new warriors. With a slight snort, she blinked away the sleep and tried to determine what time it was. It appeared that her kits were returned to the nursery, not quite old enough to formally attend a clan meeting. Moonkit looked particularly distressed, and as the mother moved her head down to lick the sweet she-cat's head, she realized that her sickening headache was nearly gone. A sigh was heaved from her bosom. It was just a migraine, just a bad headache that she could get rid of with a nap. 'Right...?'

As the cats slowly started to disperse at the end of the meeting, Tumblepaw felt a bit lost. He pressed himself between his two siblings, sapping in their warmth in the icy wind. His eyes seemed a bit out of focus as, once again, the realization of how much of a burden he would have to carry struck him. Maplepaw gave him a reassuring lick on the head, and Sagepaw was still proudly boastful of their brother's new rank. Even as Tumblepaw looked an impossible mix of desolate and joy, a lost look on his face, Maplepaw was pondering about what she could do to help him in the moons to come. Although Maplepaw had been, and has always been, arguably closer to Sagepaw since they were kits (with Tumblepaw's medicine cat dream that seems to have finally come true in the most horrible way and whatnot-), she felt more protective of Tumblepaw. After all, Sagepaw was a confident, arrogant furball, and he could defend himself just fine, with his snarkiness. However, Tumblepaw was the sensitive one, the quiet one, the one who was kind and just and patient... It was hardly fair that this had come down on him. Maplepaw was flooded with grief as she thought of Fennelfur. The medicine cat had been very kind while he had lived, and she faintly remembered messing up his herbs once, only to earn a gentle scold before he sent her off, without even telling Echoflight. She was going to miss that old medicine cat- Maplepaw hoped he would finally rest in peace in Starclan. With that being said- rather, thought, she laid her tail on Tumblepaw's shoulder one last time, murmuring congratulations before slinking off into the crowd, hoping to find her mentor.

Both newly named warriors lick Rabbitstar's shoulder, feeling happy, and content. They look at each other with great excitement, but don't say anything.

CLOUDRIPPLE (camp, wants to hunt, open.): Once the ceremony was done, the she-cat watched Thunderfang wander off towards the Warrior's den and Hawkpaw wander towards the Apprentice den to sit down. Looking around, she realized how... uneasy she felt. She just wanted to get out and shake all of the emotion off of her... she wanted to hunt. Taking another look around, she wanted to know if any other cats would join her. Hunting was always better with company.
THUNDERFANG (Warrior's den, open.): The events of the ceremony had left Thunderfang feeling confused and drained. Without saying a word to his sisters, he got up and begun walking to the Warrior's den. Feeling an odd chill from under his fur, whether from the cold or his emotions, he wasn't sure, he slipped inside the den. He didn't pay attention to if anyone else was in there or not, he just sat down on his bed and looked at the wall, silently thinking.
HAWKPAW (outside Apprentice's den, open.): Hawkpaw could only focus on how drained and confused the ceremony had left her. After waiting for days on end for the party to come back with nothing happening, all of a sudden Fennelfur was dead and there was a new apprentice and two new warriors. The sudden change in events didn't seem real to the apprentice, and she didnt even realize she was wandering toward the Apprentice's den until she was at the entrance to the burrow. She didn't exactly want to sit inside, so she just sat outside in the snow, awkwardly cleaning her chest fur.
[[ I think I wanna try to make a rogue character, too.
I made her, she's on the joining page. Also, Hawkpaw needs a mentor! ;o; ]]

Canarypaw was a bit uneasy with new apprentices coming to the den. Did this mean they'd be stuck up goody two shoes? They already seemed like so as his nose twitched in disapproval. This wasn't going to be any fun; if only he could become a warrior sooner and escape his denmates who weren't as lively as him. With a snort, he noticed Brittlethorn sitting next to him, cheering for the newly made warriors and apprentices. She was a young warrior herself and still had the mentality of an older apprentice.
Daisyfoot had been sitting next to Dancingwillow the entire meeting, forgetting that the feline had fell face first and tripped over her. A pure rumbled deep in her throat, pale coat glistening in the light. Things were going to be difficult without Fennelfur, but at least they had Dawnflame and now Tumblepaw to take his place. Though one thing bothered the warrior; how long would they be without an official medicine cat? Sure, the dreamcatcher could do the job though for how long before she could get back to her duties? The bothersome gnawed at her stomach, leaving a look of concern in her amber-orange eyes.
Meanwhile, Raggedspine was sitting alone, hanging his head. Usually he wasn't one to show a lick of emotion, but with Fennelfur's passing, it came as quite a shock. Nonetheless, he straightened up, giving his paws a quick grooming before lingering in the meeting area unsure if he should leave or not. With a light grumble, he lumbered away, dark eyes brooding and his scarred spine fur looking unruly and bristling. He clearly needed to take better care of himself but getting through to the tom was a difficult task for one to take on.

Dawnflame sat, her eyes trained on Rabbitstar for a long moment before she turned away. She wasn't sure how to feel....Fennelfur was gone, she kind of had an apprentice, which she never expected to have....and she had to tell Jadekit that her caretaker wasn't coming back. She would have to take care of a kit....So much was changing. She wasn't prepared for any of this! But...she couldn't dishonor Fennelfur by giving up without trying.
The Dreamcatcher mentally steeled herself before making her way towards Tumblepaw. She smiled weakly at him and his litter mate before bending to touch noses with the young tom. She owed him as traditional an apprenticeship as possible. "So....we are in this together, right, Tumblepaw?"
--
Ridgefall watched his apprentice getting showered in attention and couldn't help but purr. She really deserved it. She had worked hard to become a warrior and he was confident that she would be a good asset to them in the future. He wanted to congratulate her but decided to let her have her moment. They would speak later. His eyes caught sight of Rabbitstar and that made up his mind. He made his way through the crowd towards their leader but couldn't help but feel the hot glares of his clanmates aimed at his soul mate.
"Well....that was certainly a meeting." Ridgefall drawled with a flick of his ear as he drew closer to the other tom.
--
Braveleaf waited until some of the cats dispersed before getting up and making his way to the camp entrance to wait for his patrol. Aquashine and Reedheart were supposed to meet him here...but then the meeting happened and they had to wait. He glanced at the near empty fresh-kill pile with a frown. There hadn't been any hunting because of the blizzard so the warriors would have to replenish as much as possible today.
((If Cloudripple wants to tag along she can.))

(Yeah introduce her whenever you want. ^^ We can do some rogue things with my character Raven too)
For some reason, Rabbitstar held no recollection of actually dispersing the meeting. He couldn't tell if he had actually dismissed it or if everyone scattered on their own. He held the brief memory of discharging it, but it was like he was remembering a different announcement. He mechanically turned his head to his soul mate, finally realizing he had approached him. "Indeed." He breathed out. The hare-like tom's eyes rose to the still leaving crowd, many of which still murmured and glared.

"Ignore them. They're acting like kits." Ridgefall snarled back, baring his teeth at anyone he caught looking at his soul mate. Even if he wasn't as confident as he might appear, Ridgefall wouldn't let anyone see him doubting Rabbitstar. He was their leader. "Tumblepaw will be fine...and so will the clan." Chin raised defiantly as he watched the clan go about their business, he displayed a show of solidarity with the other tom.
((I think Bluedusk and Pepperpaw might start doubting his leadership. And Im down for rogue shenanigans.))

CLOUDRIPPLE: Taking another quick glance around, her eyes caught sight of someone by the camp entrance... It was Braveleaf. Feeling a small rush of relief, she gathered herself, got up ad walked over to the tom. She wasn't sure what exactly to say, as she didn't exactly know where he stood in terms of recent events. She simply said, "Hey, Braveleaf. Are you waiting on a group for something? A hunting party or patrol? I hope you don't mind if I join you." Taking a quick glance back at where the gathering had taken place, she turned her gaze to the tom again and added, a bit quieter and with a sigh, "I kinda feel the need to get out and breathe after all of what just happened..."
RUBY // (about a mile outside of Tempestclan camp, open.): Taking a quick breath in, the she-cat felt her soul return to her body in a rush of odd warmth. It truly was a strange feeling she could never really comprehend. Bringing herself to a slow stand, she glanced aimlessly in the direction of the camp. Although it was nowhere in sight, she considered what she had seen, her tail slightly swaying. So much glowing... So much warmth in one spot... They must have been gathering for something. Some sort of announcement or ceremony that she knew nothing about. It didn't seem common to her that they gathered like that very often, so something must have happened. Of what, she knew not, but she figured she would eventually find out. After stretching and contemplating some more possibilities, Ruby settled down beside a tree, exerting some warmth so she could sit comfortably in the cold. Everything was eerily still around her.
[[ Okay, I decided to start said "rogue shenanigans", if anyone else would like to join in. Also, I think Thunderfang might also begin to doubt his leader. You know, for drama. And because it would probably tear him, Cloudripple and Hawkpaw apart. I also wouldn't mind ultimately killing him off. ALSO. Eris, I just noticed that Silvernight's name appears twice on the Soulmate's list; with Pebblegaze and then with Highstone. Also, just a small reminder that Cloudripple, Thunderfang and Hawkpaw still don't have Soulmate's yet, either. ]]
