Braveleaf couldn't help but agree with Cloudripple. The atmosphere around camp was heavy and everyone seemed to be on edge now. It would be a tense few days until the clan settled down enough to make him feel at ease again. Eben now, he was fighting the urge to leave the patrol and go see his family. "Of course, Cloudripple. Its always good to have skilled paws on the patrol." the older warrior told her with a nod. "We just have to wait for everyone else."
---
"Cold, Cold, Cold...", Trinket mumbled around a sparrow as she carefully stepped her way through the snow. The stark pinkness of her exposed skin made it harder for her to keep warm and hidden in the icy terrain. But a cat had to eat and her stored up prey was quickly devoured. So she had ventured out. It had taken her most of the morning to find any prey at all! She was so focused on getting back to her den without touching as much snow as possible, that she barely noticed when she walked past another cat.

--Silvernight continued to sit in the spot she was in while others around her began to filter out of the clearing. She wished to stay frozen in place for eternity, never seeing what the future had in mind for her and those she cared for. She knew, however, that that was impossible, and only let herself sap the warmth from her soulmate for a few more heartbeats before she shifted restlessly. "I should check on things," she mewed, sounding slightly awkward despite her best efforts not to. She longed to spend more moments near one of the only comforting presences she knew, but she couldn't justify being selfish at the sake of his health. He was, after all, an elder, even if he showed more livelihood than some warriors. She pressed her nose to his ear, showing her affection, and smiled apologetically before slipping away guiltily, into the warrior's den. She expected to be alone, but found another there already - Thunderfang. Silvernight's ears burned slightly as she quickly did her best to weigh her options. She could turn and leave, making it clear to the other warrior that she was leaving due to him and had no purpose for being there. Or, she could replace her bedding, making it look like she was taking initiative in the trying time. During her silent pro/con list making, she realized he seemed slightly listless, and was most likely in no place to judge her own actions. Shoving her pride down, she did at least one selfish thing for the day - she padded to her nest and lay down in it, letting the day's events overwhelm her.
--Firewhisker felt his tumbling emotions wash over him, and then seemingly drain into the ground from his paws. He was left feeling rather empty, and was uncertain what to do. He could barely even remember most warrior duties - maybe he should bring food to the Clan's only queen? She hadn't been at the meeting. Or instead, maybe he should change the elders' bedding? The first blizzard had not been a kind one, and the older cats of the Clan had no business trying to execute such a task on their own. Though maybe their joints were hurting too much from the weather - then would it be more helpful to just go hunt, and benefit the entire Clan? He noticed a patrol getting ready to leave, and considered joining. Then he would be doing something useful that would also allow him some time to process everything. He stood hesitantly, his every move looking awkward and confused. Things need to get done, he told himself vehemently, but he felt his throat constrict slightly as his once-vacated emotions pushed back into his body. He growled slightly, both clearing his throat and softly berating himself, and then forced his way toward the patrol.
--Brokenpaw snapped out of his reverie slightly as other cats began leaving the clearing. He turned to look at Skullpaw, wondering if he should bring up the tom's half-siblings. "Training" them might be a good way to bring it up, but the kits shouldn't be in this kind of weather for such a trivial reason when the medicine cat is gone, he thought, uncertain what to do. His mouth flopped open and such slightly as he struggled for words, but the only thing that came out was: "Has your mother eaten yet today? She'll need her strength in the days to come."
--Moonkit relaxed very slightly as her adopted mother paid her attention. She wondered if she should tell the queen about the meetings' events, but decided against it - she faintly remembered Skullpaw promising to update them all on the situation. If she let that happen, she wouldn't be caught doing something she shouldn't have, and the older she-cat would still find out everything that had gone on while she was asleep. Speaking of sleep-- "Are you okay?" Moonkit asked Icewing, seemingly out of the blue. Her voice held too much worry for a casual remark, and she hoped that it would be written off as intense care instead of questioned.

... ↪ It's been quite the rally of moments gone by as he called the new names of his friends during their chants of becoming warriors. Bramblequake and Poppyflower wouldn't be fighting for a space next to him in the apprentice's den anymore. They'd sit vigil tonight and have nests by the cold entrance of the warriors den for quite a while after that. Perhaps Skullpaw would enjoy his cozy, warm nest in the back of the apprentice's den for a while yet in Leaf-Bare. His reminicing was only broken by Brokenpaw when he piped up to speak, startling Skullpaw a little as he had forgotten that he'd even sat next to him during the meeting.
"Mm, I'm not sure..." he sighed in response and twisted to observe the fresh-kill–his own stomach in knots. "I'd suggest we go bring her some, but there's not really much on the pile to spare," Skullpaw continued to mention, not sure why he had included Brokenpaw in the 'we' of it all but he shrugged it off. Queens did get more priority than they, especially with so many kits to take care of. Just to make sure, Skullpaw scanned the clearing to make sure Braveleaf was still taking out that patrol. They desperately needed more prey to eat. He did see his mentor amongst a rag-tag gathering of cats, with yet another approaching as Aquashine with her spear-stick in her jaws joined them now. Skullpaw's orange gaze lastly rested on Brokenpaw, giving him a small nod and flicking his tail in gesture to the fresh-kill and then the nursery.

"Alright," Pebblegaze says, watching her head towards the warrior's den, before padding towards Sorrelwing.
Crowheart heads to the medicine cat den to check on Lioncrest, Stonewhisker right behind him to check on Briarwind.

(Okay)
Stonewhisker enters the medicine cat den, looking around with unblinking green eyes, until they landed on the cat he was looking for; his constantly grumpy soul mate Briarwind. As soon as he spots her, a wide grin appears on his face, and he trots in, only to sit right in front of her. "Hey, hey, Briarwind. How's that cough going? You feeling any better today?" he hums. Despite everything going on, he was feeling pretty happy, and wanted nothing more than to get on with life, after all, what's the use in grieving all the time? The dead would want you to be happy, not keep looking to the past. Looking to the future is much better.

CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Aquashine): All she could do was nod, though she was very appreciative at the compliment from the senior warrior. Her tail lashed back and forth occasionally as she glanced around camp, trying to see who else would want to join their patrol. After a minute, they were joined by Aquashine. Again, Cloudripple was too tired for words, so she merely dipped her head in greeting to the other she-cat. Then she craned her head towards the Apprentice den and looked at her sister, Hawkpaw. She wanted to take her out, but... Well, for one, that was Highstone's job now, as her mentor. Secondly, she didn't seem to share the same need to get out that Cloudripple herself did. She seemed to have taken on Thunderfang's way of dealing with things instead; just sitting and thinking.
THUNDERFANG: It took the tom a few minutes to notice that Silvernight had walked into the den and past him. He had begun to feel embarrassed that she had seen him so frustratingly deep in thought that he hasn't even taken her presence into account. Hoping he hadn't made a face that seemed angry while lost in thought, he threw a small glance her way, but she mostly just seemed tired. Yeah, me, too, he thought to himself, allowing a small sigh through his teeth. Following suit, he took it upon himself to curl up in his bed, facing away from the she-cat so not to scare her if he did end up looking peeved whilst lost in thought.
RUBY // (Trinket): Something moved across the still landscape so suddenly that the dark she-cat literally jumped to her paws and let out a small, somewhat awkward squeak. She had probably been paying too much attention to the warmth of the gathered cats of the clan to notice any warmth around her. Cursing herself for being so careless, the instinct to run and hide gripped her, but leaf-bare was a tough season to take cover in, considering that nothing had leaves on it. She stood, getting into what she figured would be a defensive stance, and glared at the other...cat? Ruby finally started to take in what she was seeing, instead of just running away from something that moved. It looked like a cat with... no fur, just skin. There were cats with no fur that existed? This confused the rogue, as even with her soul power, she relied upon her pelt for warmth and protection, as well as to hide. She begun to wonder if it was a clan cat, but... They normally don't seem to venture out on their own, especially if some sort of meeting was called. It also came to mind to question how a clan wouldn't make fun of a cat like this. Though Ruby was standing defensively and glaring at the she-cat, it was definitely clear that she was very unsure of herself, and very confused by the presence of the hairless feline.

((Just so Im clear. Braveleafs patrol is Firewhisker, Aquashine, and Cloudripple?))
Trinket whipped back around at the sudden movement.Crouching defensive and low, she trained her wide blue eyes on what she assumed was attacking her. Her posture sagged with relief almost instant. A cat she could handle. She thought it was a badger or some other predator out to eat her. Still, it was the cold season. This she-cat could try to take her sparrow. She clamped her teeth down harder into the bird possessively at the thought. "What are you doing out her just sitting in the snow?" the rogue asked around the bird in her mouth, her voice muffled. Surely something was wrong with this cat. It was freezing out here.

... ↪ I just hope we got everything from those forums :c Watch us remember something we forgot to save lol
... ↪ Everything had been quiet enough in the Medicine Cat's den with Lioncrest gone for them to hear the announcements from there whenever Briarwind's coughing didn't interrupt. Reedheart had been inside trying to talk to Sootpaw just before the meeting started, but it was a bunch of stifled silence that the warrior eventually left after showing he cared for his apprentice at least. Briarwind rolled her eyes, she had helped save Sootpaw and what do they get? A traumatized apprentice and she had earned a lasting cough, unlike Stonewhisker who had also been there and seemed to shake off his illness already. Speak of the devil, the she-cat's eyes traveled from Sootpaw to her soulmate's figure in the entrance and she frowned. It was...nice...that he was more concerned than her brother was still, but he was acting too cheerful despite the circumstances for her liking.
"Well, the catmint supply is low and Dawnflame won't give me anymore than a small dose every once in a while, so this cough is only at a plateau. What else...that's right, our Medicine Cat is dead. Yes, I heard. We all heard," she huffed hurriedly in her rambling answer and set her gaze downcast at the edge of her nest. Without Fennelfur, would she ever get better? Sitting in here definitely wasn't doing any good. "I just want to get out of here," Briarwind continued and got to her paws so she could stretch out her body. "I'm fine with leaving, but I don't think Dawnflame wants me to risk getting anybody else sick. It's ridiculous." The dark-colored warrior with patches of ginger shook out her pelt and looked up to Stonewhisker again with hardened eyes. "Oh and a kit is our new Medicine Cat. We'll be in shambles this Leaf-Bare." Throughout her speech were coughs that led her voice to sound husky at times.

Cats open: Fawnpaw, Highstone, Meadowlark Cats Mentioned: Hawkpaw, Rabbitstar
Fawnpaw gave one final glance around her at the seeming melancholy choas of the camp. They could not afford to dilly-dally, and yet very little was getting done. Sure she was sad and scared, and looking at an empty fresh-kill pile did nothing to boost her confidence, but doing something was the only way to improve things.
Highstone got himself up and began searching for his apprentice, Hawkpaw. Sitting around moping and complaining about Rabbitstars mistakes was a useless waste of time, especially in such dire circumstances. If only he could find the young cat they could maybe get something done.
Meadowlark set down her misgivings when she looked at Rabbitstar, seeing his pain and regret over his decisions. She understood that it was probably very hard to be such an important cat, even if she didn't understand how he made such a grievous mistake so easily. It was done now however, and she decided she would check in and see if she could help at all in the nursery.

Whitedeer sat up, still within the comfort of Opalfeather and Aquashine, but her tiredness had her quite confused. She only caught the end of the ceremony after her surprise nap and now cats were dispersing to be useful. She looked down at her paws as the events of yesterday came flooding back to her. In turn, tears welled up in her eyes again. Why couldn't things be the way they were in her dreams? Suspended, calm, serene.
-------------------------------
Possumkit had managed to watch some of the meeting before Icewing woke up. His mother was usually very adamant about rules and the cold, but she was rather listless today and that worried the young one. She was awake now, however, and nosing her other kits that remained with dull eyes. Her motherly smile was unwavering, however. He looked at her with a soft blue gaze before deciding he would let his mama rest and have one less kit to be bothered by. He turned and began trotting out of the nursery before his nose ended up pressed against Meadowlark. Wide eyes slowly looked up at her and embarrassment heated up his ears. She--and the whole clan most likely--knew about his little adventure the other night. Hopefully she wasn't here to scold him or, worse, think he was sneaking out once more.

Meadowlark smiled down at the small kit as she nearly ran into him. "Well where do you think you're heading little one?" she asked brightly. "You don't want to give your mother another scare now do you? I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate that at all." Kits had always made Meadowlark happier to be alive. They were so innocent and yet uncorrupted by the ways and laws of the imperfect world.

Sagepaw // Fawnpaw After seeing Maplepaw slink off into the crowd to find her mentor, Sagepaw wandered amongst the dispersing crowd aimlessly, looking for some cat to talk to. Tumblepaw was talking to Dawnflame- he didn't want to interrupt his brother in his moment, so he turned instead- right into Fawnpaw. "Oh! Um! Sor-" He tried to meow, but the word got stuck in his throat- half because Sagepaw simply wasn't USED to apologizing- and partly because the she-cat was- well, pretty. Sagepaw stammered for a bit before finding his confidence again. "Hey Fawnpaw! Did you see my brother's ceremony? He's great." Sagepaw meowed, puffing himself out. He noticed he didn't seem to be that much smaller than the older apprentice- in fact, they were around the same size. The boastful young cat lifted his head a bit higher.

Dawnflame sat, her eyes trained on Rabbitstar for a long moment before she turned away. She wasn't sure how to feel....Fennelfur was gone, she kind of had an apprentice, which she never expected to have....and she had to tell Jadekit that her caretaker wasn't coming back. She would have to take care of a kit....So much was changing. She wasn't prepared for any of this! But...she couldn't dishonor Fennelfur by giving up without trying.
The Dreamcatcher mentally steeled herself before making her way towards Tumblepaw. She smiled weakly at him and his litter mate before bending to touch noses with the young tom. She owed him as traditional an apprenticeship as possible. "So....we are in this together, right, Tumblepaw?"
--
Tumblepaw // Dawnflame // Jadekit "Right." Tumblepaw meowed, sure of himself. He knew he could do this- if only it weren't the middle of leaf bare. He could easily sense the Dreamcatcher's churning emotions- especially when he could feel them clearly himself. When he realized that Sagepaw had trotted off, he'd had half a mind to tag along, to keep his brother out of trouble, mainly. Tumblepaw shook his head. Now that he was a medicine cat apprentice, he had his own responsibilities, his own path, different from those of his littermates. "Let's go inside," he sighed softly, and, without waiting for the Dreamcatcher to follow, he skunk into the medicine's den, away from the biting cold. Tumblepaw surveyed the patients in the den, and his eyes landed on Jadekit. The small, mauled up she-kit had been taken care of by Fennelfur- he'd hardly let Tumblepaw near her. Well, he thought. Dawnflame and I shall take care of her now. He briefly wondered what Mosskit would say, if she were here. If she had survived. What would she be like? What would it be like in general, having a younger sister? Would it matter, since they were from the same litter? Did HE think Maplepaw and Sagepaw were "older"? The questions came out of nowhere, and took him by surprise. "Dawnflame?" He called, unsure if she had followed him inside the den. "Do kits have soul colors?"

Mentioned: Sagepaw OOC: I just realized I forgot to put her coloring in her forms XD.
Fawnpaw sighed. That was the second time she had been run into today. The young tom in front of her seemed slightly frazzled however, and she simply nodded in acknowledgment of his apology. "That I did. He'll make a great medicine cat, though his journey will be hard. I wish him the best." She glanced around camp once more, and then at the new warriors sitting at its entrance. "It looks like there is no chance of getting some hunting in without getting trailed. Have any ideas of something productive to do?"

CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Aquashine, Firewhisker): The she-cat soon realized that Firewhisker was coming to join their patrol as well, and she patiently stood and waited for him to get to the camp entrance with the patrol so they could leave. She was just itching to go, which may have been given away by her quirky tail movements, but she tried to hold her tongue and wait.
HAWKPAW // (Highstone): Looking up from her grooming, Hawkpaw suddenly saw Highstone looking around. Curious as to what he was looking for, and with a small hope that he may have been looking for her, she stood, stretched and walked over to him.
RUBY // (Trinket): It took Ruby a while for her to find her voice. It had been a long time since she spoke out loud, she had forgotten what it sounded like. It was sort of meek and small sounding. "I- I live here," she said in a small rush. It probably sounded like she was lying, but she wasn't; she lived up in the tree that towered above them. Not that the hairless cat would know that. "What a-are you doing here? I haven't seen a cat here in m-moons," Ruby added, her voice still a sped up and nervous. Feeling her body extrude warmth, she wanted to sit down and not look threatening so this could be over with, but this... "cat" could potentially attack her, so she remained standing.

Dawnflame followed the new apprentice into his den, unsure how to feel about the situation. His question took her by surprise and her ears flicked with interest. "Not typically, no." she answered as she followed. "Most cats do not show signs of their soul color until their apprenticeship." Dawnflame nodded in passing to Briarwind and Stonewhisker, leaving them to converse. Her eyes scanned the den and she spotted Sootpaw. He looked worse for where, breathing fast and shallow with the faint scent of fear swirling around his fur. He must of had another nightmare or something. "I think you should give Sootpaw something to calm him. Not poppy...maybe chamomile." she murmured as they got closer to Jadekit's nest.
--
With the patrol assembled, Braveleaf could finally try to restock the fresh-kill pile. The group of cats marched out of camp and through the icy snow. The golden-brown tom keep his ears alert and his eyes searching as they went. "I dont think it would be wise to go all the way to the forest in this." the warrior mewed quietly as to not scare off any potential prey. "I think it would be best if we went worked outward and tried to catch what we find scurrying around"[/b
--
"Hunting, obviously." the hairless cat drawled, shivering slightly. Why do you live so close to them? If they catch you around here, they'll run you out. Thats why I stick to the edges. she told the other loner matter-of-factly. She felt something on her skin, warmth, and the shivering ended suddenly. With a gasp, the hairless cat drew back and the cold hit her once again. "Why is it so warm...." she murmured and moved a few paw steps closer, nudging her sparrow along, to stand in the heat.

--Firewhisker noticed some of the patrol members watching him approach slowly, and his ears heated up. He didn't mean to be padding along so slowly - he'd just been uncertain as to whether or not he'd be accepted into its ranks, or if he should even try. He began trotting forward faster, making it to the group quite quickly. He melted into the ranks without comment, departing with the patrol without issue. He listened to Braveleaf's instructions, nodding in agreement - they could only catch so much during leafbare, and probably even less right after a blizzard.
--Moonkit noticed the sudden spike in cats visiting the nursery and whimpered again softly. She couldn't help but feel that everyone in camp knew their lives were in the most danger out of the Clan, and they were coming to get their final looks before sickness shook their frames and eventually took their lives. Her paws itched to run, perhaps run away from all the problems that had come along, but instead she just began kneading the ground worriedly as she continued waiting for an answer to her question, fear growing as the silence did.
--Silvernight lay in her nest for a while, feeling restless. She began to toss and turn as if having trouble sleeping, or having a nightmare. She grumbled slightly, glancing at Thunderfang. He seemed fine on his own, but she had the overwhelming urge to run, or yell, or something. She reached out hesitantly and prodded his side, withdrawing her paw quickly and crouching with wide eyes to see his response. Silvernight felt a bit like a kit playing a game, and resisted the urge to sway slightly as if she were about to pounce. Pulling herself from her thoughts, she mewed quietly, "Thunderfang? Would you mind talking? Everything that's happened is weighing on my mind - if you repeat that I'll turn your bedding into a bunch of brambles - I just want to talk."
--Brokenpaw perked up slightly at Skullpaw's invitation to bring his mother and her kits some food. He nodded eagerly, half rising as his gaze swiveled to the fresh kill pile. The pile itself was empty, but the prey Silvernight had brought in earlier lay only a few fox lengths away from it, almost unnoticeable since no one would look anywhere else for food. He hesitated slightly, feeling it wasn't his place, but eventually trotted over and grabbed one of the deermice. It wasn't very large, even for deermouse standards, and it was starting to get rather chilled. He hurriedly began moving it to the nursery, excited to see the kits and determined to offer as much help as the queen would take.

CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Aquashine, Firewhisker): Cloudripple nodded at Braveleaf's suggestion. She hoped that at least one of the cats in the group had an orange soul; that would help them track some prey, and maybe mean bringing home more to the clan. She'd sacrificed a meal to feel the elders and queens more times than she would have liked, and leaf-bare was just beginning.
RUBY // (Trinket): Without saying a word, Ruby allowed herself to relax and just sat down. She didn't reply to the cat's previous comment about the clan, and she didn't answer her about the warmth. In fact, she didn't even realize she started to warm herself more. She turned it up a bit, causing some of the snow around her to form a glaze over itself and become glossy as it was melting. Disregarding everything else the she-cat asked, Ruby finally blurted out in her usual rushed manner, "why don't you have any fur? I'm s-surprised you haven't died in the cold."

... ↪ I want my caaar baaack ;o;
... ↪ It was unfortunate that Aquashine ended up leaving Whitedeer alone in the middle of camp like that. Her calming yellow energy had sent Whitedeer into a relaxing trance and Aquashine had let her be sleepy until the meeting had ended, in which she had promptly snuck away to do something else with her time. At least she was still in Opalfeather's paws, unless the other she-cat left, too. It'd be sad for Whitedeer to wake up alone again when what she needed was comfort, but Aquashine couldn't dote forever and at least she was calmed down now.
In her jowls yet poking out in each side of her muzzle was a stick, sharpened to a point on each side. Considering the ditching effort that Aquashine took to join this hunting patrol now, she figured she may as well go all out and train her spear hunting. That was what excited her, and Braveleaf, Cloudripple, and Firewhisker didn't seem like the types to judge her for trying. Aquashine was rather good at it as long as she had trees to aim at, but now that they'd only be trailing through the snow on the outskirts of the forest that'd make things difficult. The white-and-ginger (I think lol) she-cat dropped the stick and made mental note to fetch it back later. Spear hunting was more for rain or at least a lack of snow.

((lmao i died @ that)) --Firewhisker noticed Aquashine drop the stick she had been carrying, and felt slightly relieved - though also guilty for being so. The lack of prey in the camp was severe, and if she made any mistakes, it could go so far as costing a Clanmate's life. He wouldn't discourage her, though, especially with Braveleaf being the patrol leader, and the starvation season only just beginning - there was still the tiniest margin for error that hopefully wouldn't end poorly. The possible danger now gone, he sidled up to the she-cat slightly. "How did you get the ends sharp?" he inquired, doing his best to keep his voice as low as possible. He didn't want to scare away prey, or attract a scolding.
