CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Aquashine, Firewhisker): Turning and listening to Aquashine and Firewhisker's conversation, she added in a low voice, "wow, that's pretty impressive. I'd probably give up not even halfway through." She was pretty impressed by the she-cat's craftsmanship, and sort of wanted to see her use them, but... Bringing back food was priority, not honing spearing skills.

Mentioned: Hawkpaw OOC: Meadowlark was speaking with possumkit.
Highstone finally spotted his apprentice and shook himself. "Ready to do something useful? I know a patrol just headed out, but we could always use more prey, or somebody might be in need of something else." He may have relaxed some since the earlier meeting, but he was still frazzled enough to not have a clear though as to what should really be done at the moment, maybe his apprentice would.

--Firewhisker nodded his agreement to Cloudripple's comment, looking rather impressed. "Have you considered teaching others? What's your success rate?" he further questioned, wondering if it could be used to help the Clan more than anything. Did she just throw the stick, like a long distance thing? Or did she hold it in her mouth while striking down? Both would be good in battles - especially against larger animals with a longer reach. Firewhisker let his mind wander a bit, considering all the options and the best way to utilize such a creative idea.

Canarypaw was a bit uneasy with new apprentices coming to the den. Did this mean they'd be stuck up goody two shoes? They already seemed like so as his nose twitched in disapproval. This wasn't going to be any fun; if only he could become a warrior sooner and escape his denmates who weren't as lively as him. With a snort, he noticed Brittlethorn sitting next to him, cheering for the newly made warriors and apprentices. She was a young warrior herself and still had the mentality of an older apprentice. Daisyfoot had been sitting next to Dancingwillow the entire meeting, forgetting that the feline had fell face first and tripped over her. A pure rumbled deep in her throat, pale coat glistening in the light. Things were going to be difficult without Fennelfur, but at least they had Dawnflame and now Tumblepaw to take his place. Though one thing bothered the warrior; how long would they be without an official medicine cat? Sure, the dreamcatcher could do the job though for how long before she could get back to her duties? The bothersome gnawed at her stomach, leaving a look of concern in her amber-orange eyes. Meanwhile, Raggedspine was sitting alone, hanging his head. Usually he wasn't one to show a lick of emotion, but with Fennelfur's passing, it came as quite a shock. Nonetheless, he straightened up, giving his paws a quick grooming before lingering in the meeting area unsure if he should leave or not. With a light grumble, he lumbered away, dark eyes brooding and his scarred spine fur looking unruly and bristling. He clearly needed to take better care of himself but getting through to the tom was a difficult task for one to take on.

... ↪ I work five days this week when I usually only work 2-3, like why. I will miss you all when I am dead ;o;
... ↪ The sudden attention was not something Aquashine appreciated, but her own yellow soul kept her calm as can be even when she wanted to run for duck and cover. She just needed to get into one of her nice, out to serve others moods instead of a shy one and she'd be okay. Aquashine nodded at them both in turn, trying to exchange a glance with them each to show that she acknowledged both Cloudripple and Firewhisker. "I-I've been asked to accompany some mentoring sessions and teach before, but the last one ended up in a broken stick... Took a while to find a new one and work on it," she mentioned and lowered her head cautiously when she thought Braveleaf may be growing impatient with their chatter, but he was typically pretty laid-back. "I want it to become a new type of hunting style that is taught through history for TempestClan... I have to perfect it and make it noticible for that though," Aquashine continued with a little twist of her body as she sauntered up next to the two warriors, not knowing what to expect with their responses.

Tripping over Daisyfoot went forgotten to Dancingwillow as well. The airy she-cat sat next to her, humming to herself during the entire duration of the meeting. The green-soul found it very hard to concentrate during clan ceremonies. They were fun and cute, but when Dancingwillow wasn't doing something in them, her mind easily wandered. Her humming ceased once she realized that the meeting had ended. She leapt up to her feet with light-hearted grace when she saw the other she-cat's look of concern. With a tilt of her brownish-peach head, and her mouth making a pursed 'o', she asked, "What's wrong, grumpy friend?"
-------------
Jadekit felt eyes burning into her. She still needed poppy seeds to fall asleep and Dawnflame had supplied her with a single one last night. It was always just enough. She had slept long and hard, practically dead to the outside world. Perhaps she even projected without knowing? Honestly, the small kit wasn't sure what projecting was still. Dawnflame once talked to her about it, and many others talked about colors and projecting and souls, but it all was lost to her. Her single green eye blinked the drug-induced sleep away and she smiled at Tumblekit warmly. Did he know about projecting?
------------
"Um--Uh--I just wanted to let my mother sleep." Possumkit tried to explain, murmuring rapidly. It wasn't an excuse, although it sounded like one. "I think she'll appreciate having one less kit around her than anything else." He took a pawstep toward the left of Meadowlark, as if he was brave enough to try shouldering pass her. Quickly, he added, "Don't worry about the cold for me either! I don't feel it for some reason." There. Take that, warrior. She couldn't use that as an excuse now.

Braveleaf had let the younger warriors talk for a few moments, trying to exude enough warmth to help them keep from freezing, but he stopped suddenly. He signaled with his tail for the patrol to stop behind him. "Shush!", he hissed out quickly, perking his ears. He heard nothing. Letting out a slow sigh, he extended his orange soul powers outward. He could sense rabbits, three of them, just a way over the embankment. Perfect. "Three rabbits, directly over the snow embankment. Creep up slow and get ready to chase.", the senior warrior told them before sneaking forward a little closer. Clearing his throat, he began to call to the rabbits. I see food! Come quickly!

((oh gosh luring rabbits to their deaths, that's so metal........))
--Firewhisker opened his mouth to respond to Aquashine but was cut off quickly at Braveleaf's exclamation. He froze briefly, then began dancing on his paws slightly, warming up for a run after the prey. He hunched down as close to the ground as he could without basically freezing to it, his eyes lighting up and his tail lashing very slightly at the tip. It had been a while since he'd had to chase prey in snow, obviously, and he was excited. The burst of energy for the chase would also lead to a release of some of the emotions he'd been keeping in and mulling over, and would hopefully also keep him rather warm.

(Hey guys. Sorry I wasn't on. I've been pretty busy, dealing with a sick sister, getting sick myself, and the fact that my granddad had an operation, and is still in ICU...) Darkfang ☾: Stonewhisker sighs, his shoulders slumping. He pads over to Briarwind, and lies down beside her. "I know... I know... It doesn't look like things are good...I hope we'd be able to get through this time with everyone here... but it's going to be hard... We won't have a proper medicine cat which is what we need right now. I'm trying to stay positive, and keep my hopes up, but everything seems so bleak and uncertain in the future, I'm honestly scared... I want you out of here as much as you do, Briarwind, but I also want you to get better before you leave too... I'll try finding some catmint whenever I go out to help you along..."Stonewhisker sighs at the end of his rant, not bothering to look at Briarwind, only looking down at his paws. He didn't know what the future held, and he didn't want any of his clanmates to die either. He was terrified, but didn't want to show it, which is why he entered the den with a positive attitude, but seeing Briarwind, he knew he couldn't keep the act up.

"Ignore them. They're acting like kits." Ridgefall snarled back, baring his teeth at anyone he caught looking at his soul mate. Even if he wasn't as confident as he might appear, Ridgefall wouldn't let anyone see him doubting Rabbitstar. He was their leader. "Tumblepaw will be fine...and so will the clan." Chin raised defiantly as he watched the clan go about their business, he displayed a show of solidarity with the other tom.
Rabbitstar's jaw set itself hard. They weren't being completely immature. Though he didn't do it publicly, most of the clan easily and obviously had made the connection that he had asked Fennelfur to go to the Moonwillow. Now, words from StarClan will not hit the clan's ears. He silently hoped for Tumblepaw to receive some dreams, but it seemed cruel. All of this was so cruel to the newly appointed medicine cat apprentice. A heavy sigh weaved itself out of clenched jaw. "I'm glad to have you as my soul mate, Ridgefall."

Mentioned: Possumkit OOC:
Meadowlark studied the young cats face for a moment before deciding how to proceed. She saw a stubborn will to get out and away. "What exactly were you planning on doing whilst you were outside young one?" He seemed so determined and that would be a wonderful trait one day, but for the moment it was going to fill life with, well, at least some frustration.

((Moon, at some point when this day ends, can you have tumblepaw dream? I have something for him to see.))
Bluedusk tried to shake herself out of the nervous trance the clan meeting had put her in and paced a round, the feeling of her paws moving making her relax slowly. The clan would have to work hard to survive the winter without any losses but she was alright with that. She could skip some extra meals. As long as the queens and elders were cared for....speaking of. Bluedusk glanced over at the nursery and saw it was positively swarming with cats. Icewing would be taken care of. The elders would need some extra attention too.
The blue-gray she-cat scanned the remaining cats, her gaze stopping on Canarypaw before she trotted over to him, smiling weakly at Brittlethorn. "Canarypaw, I need you to go check the elders for ticks and clean out their bedding. You can bring another apprentice with you if you can find someone who isn't busy."
--
"Huh?", the rogue mewed, her head tilting curiously as her icy gaze watched the other cat. She caught sight of the snow beginning to glisten and cautiously scooted forward even more. The closer she got to the she-cat, the warmer it got! In this weather, she wasn't going to turn away from an opportunity to be warm. She moved until she was about a fox length away from the other cat before settling down with the bird between her paws. She shuddered at the feeling of cold against her belly but it ignored it as it was replaced with the wonderful warmth. "My whole family looks like this...and I tend to run a little hotter than other cats....well, not as hot as you apparently." Trinket drawled with flick of her ear towards the other cat, gesturing her paw at the slowly melting snow.

"And I you, Rabbitstar..." the senior warrior murmured in return, affectionately bumping his should against the other tom in a rare display for the normally serious cat. He had a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach that he couldn't solely place on the death of the medicine cat. Something just felt...off. It felt like all this was just the beginning of something even more sinister. The cold chill running down his spine set him on edge. How much more would they have to endure in the coming moons? Fennelfur...StarClan, help them all.

((Just so the new members know, where we left off on the official forums, Sootpaw had found the skeleton and fur scraps of a dead cat and had been possessed into finding it and he was kind of traumatized. XD So he is going to try and figure out what happened to give himself closure. So dont mind him skulking about.))
Sootpaw could hear the voices of Tumblepaw and Dawnflame and shook his head, taking ragged breaths as he squeezed his eyes shut. Get it together, Sootpaw. Stop being so afraid! The words forced him to his paws and he looked at the medicine cat apprentice and Dreamcatcher with dazed eyes. A pink tongue swiped over his muzzle as it opened. The words wouldn't come out easily. His moon or so of near silence had made his voice raspy and weak. "No...no, I dont need any." he croaked as he began to back out of the den. ".....just need some air." And with that said, he turned tail and streaked out of the medicine cat den.
The sun on the snow seared his eyes and he skidded to a halt just outside of camp. The fur of his haunches was raised and he knew the scent of fear was probably clinging to his pelt like a faint breeze. He needed to get away from everything. That den, so dark...it just reminded him of what had happened to him, of what he saw. A moon later, he still had dreams of snow white bones chasing after him in the dark tunnel, pulling him down, down, down until he drowned in the mud as he tried to climb the walls to his soul mate. The smell cemented itself permanently in his mind, the claw marks on the walls, the dried blood. That could have been him if Briarwind, Stonewhisker, Pepperpaw, and Kestrelstorm hadn't saved him.
The apprentice shook his head forcefully as if that would clear his mind and forced himself to start walking, not sure of his destination. He just needed to make himself go outside. He needed air and open space...the opposite of that horrible night.

[[ Ah, crud, sorry for not being on. And sorry, Patience, I had no idea Silvernight was talking to Thunderfang! I'll get on that. :3 ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Aquashine, Firewhisker): Nodding to Aquashine's explanation, the she- at was highly intrigued, and was about to remark on her creativity, but was stopped by Braveleaf. Hearing the warrior's instructions, she gave a nod, staying silent and starting to listen. There was a long silence, and Braveleaf fell quiet, but looked concentrated. She thought of it as mere listening, but it looked like more than that. She pondered that he was the orange souled cat she had wished for to make this hunt easier and more fruitful. Waiting impatiently, she looked ahead.
THUNDERFANG // (Silvernight): Feeling a strange prod at his side sort of startled him, and he would have ignored it, had Silvernight not spoken. He rolled around and turned to face her, tired yellow eyes trailing on her features, and a small grin playing on his lips. He liked that comment about turning his bed to brambles; it was quirky. In a low voice, he said, "alright, alright. Don't worry." His smile faded a bit and he looked somber, his gaze trailing elsewhere. "I'm feeling the same way, so I empathize with you. I'm sure a lot of us are. But..." The tom stopped and looked her straight in the eyes, completely serious. "I don't feel that Rabbitstar was being smart. Sending our only medicine cat out like that, especially at Fennelfur's old age... It wasn't right. It was damn well mouse brained. I might be thinking about this too much, but I'm not looking forward to what he could do next. He's doomed the clan." He finished, looking for some sort of acceptance on her part. It was tough for him to admit that he was doubting his own leader's skills, and he was too tired and frazzled to filter himself in front of the other warrior. He also realized that she had said that she walked to talk, but he just completely went off on a tangent. He wanted to apologize for his rudeness, but he was too busy hoping to Starclan she felt the same, and hadn't driven her away.
HAWKPAW // (Highstone): The apprentice looked at her mentor thoughtfully, then looked around camp. She realized how confused and seemingly out of the loop she was, and decided that instead, she wanted to ask her mentor for some clarification. She remembered Cloudripple's voice from the gathering, along with the voices of the other cats all in unison, whispering and remarking. "...Actually, Highstone," Hawkpaw said in a low tone, shifting her gaze back on her mentor. "Today's gathering left me really, really confused, now that I think about it. I want to ask you about it. I want to ask you what's going on. With her mossy green eyes locked on the tom, she hoped he would agree to tell her. She felt like she needed answers.
RUBY // (Trinket): Feeling a bit awkward with Trinket getting closer, Ruby decided that she should let go and relax. Surely, they were rogues in the same boat, even if the copper eyed cat's lineage pointed back to the clans. Her pelt flattened back against her skin as she begun to convince herself to calm down. Avoiding any such topic as her soul and why she was so warm, Ruby said in her usual rushed way, "A-an entire family of hairless cats? I c-can't even begin to imagine. What use w-would that be? I use m-my f-fur for so many u-uses." It was now clear that Ruby wasn't used to talking to others, and hadn't spoken much in her life. She had a small stutter, and spoke faster than it looked like she was comfortable doing, as if she didn't want to be speaking for longer than she had to, and thus, rushed her sentences. Her diction was good, though. Maybe too good to seem casual sometimes.

Mentioned: Sagepaw OOC: I just realized I forgot to put her coloring in her forms XD.
Fawnpaw sighed. That was the second time she had been run into today. The young tom in front of her seemed slightly frazzled however, and she simply nodded in acknowledgment of his apology. "That I did. He'll make a great medicine cat, though his journey will be hard. I wish him the best." She glanced around camp once more, and then at the new warriors sitting at its entrance. "It looks like there is no chance of getting some hunting in without getting trailed. Have any ideas of something productive to do?" Sagepaw // Fawnpaw "If by "Something productive" you mean chores, then no thanks. Anything else, though..." He mused for a moment. Sagepaw still wanted to hunt, but it was obvious it was unwise to go out again in this weather... "Maybe we can train! Like, fighting!" He mewed, tilting his ears and waiting for her reaction to his suggestion.

Highstone heaved another sigh, my was that a lot for one day, but he nodded slowly. "I guess I can do my best at clarifying things, and try to answer any questions you could have. Though I will hold onto my right to ignore or refuse to answer anything. You should start forming your own opinions, and not just listen to my old and grumpy ones."
Fawnpaw hesitated for a moment and then bobbed her head in agreement. She had been hoping for something more useful, but at least a good sparring would keep her mind and paws occupied. "Not what I really had in mind, but I guess we can go ahead. At least its something." She was well aware of the fact that her fighting could use improvement. Her blows were often light and glancing, and she was easily knocked off balance. Her only advantages lay in her size and speed.

((I feel like there's not much to say for Firewhisker until Braveleaf is done again, and since the nursery is so busy but somehow without many responses there it doesn't feel right to respond there either ahhh))
--Silvernight relaxed slightly at Thunderfang's first words, and willingly locked eyes with him as he lifted his gaze to hers. As he continued speaking, though, she felt her fur fluff up slightly. She was shocked at his brazenness - and his complete ability to share with a cat he'd probably barely noticed before these moments. She withdrew her paw from where she'd let it rest on him and tucked it under herself, still staring into his shockingly yellow eyes as she contemplated his words. Her views had seemed so set when only spoken in her own mind, but now was the time to voice them - and she was having a hard time figuring out exactly what they were. She began picking her words carefully, careful not to choose the opposite side of the argument as her sister had accidentally taught her to. "He was wrong," she began slowly, "but did he know that the blizzard was coming? I don't know the details. And - and I," she began stuttering slightly, growing embarrassed and angry, "I think he'll consider more thoroughly next time. He's been getting more cautious as he's gone through his lives, because he's - he's been learning. This was him learning again, in a truly awful, terrible way. The Clan won't die from this - it isn't truly doomed - but some of our Clanmates... They might be. They might be doomed." Silvernight felt her words hanging heavily in the air, and began feeling as worried and self-conscious as Thunderfang had, though she was significantly more self-conscious when she realized that she was currently more worried about his opinion than about the deaths they were both foreseeing.
