Beckoning the patrol on, he lifted his muzzle at the slightest bit of smokey air that had drifted the patrols way. "We're at least another sunhigh away. We should rest and we'll move again at dawn." His gaze drifted back to Speckledpaw, studying the apprentice with a curious glint in his eyes before turning to Nettlepaw with the same glint in his eyes. "Nettlepaw. Can you smell anything unusual? Take notice of the tracks around you." |

Nettlepaw blinked and sniffed the air, "Most of all I can smell is smoke." The light grey she-cat studying the tracks on the ground, her eyes narrowed as she tried to figure out what it was. "Are those... Badger tracks or twoleg tracks?" The apprentice has never come across a twoleg before, so was unuable to recognise twolegs or their tracks.

"Use your smell and tell me how long ago it passed through." His tail swept the ground, as he to studied the tracks, twolegs. "Does it smell like a badger?" He let his gaze sweep his patrol and an unexpected breeze ruffled his fur, causing it to spike up along the ridge of his back. He turned to Speckledpaw, "Maybe you could help Nettlepaw out?" |

Speckledpaw looked up at the leader in shock. Me help out?? "U-Um.." She leaned down to sniff at the markings on the ground. She tried thinking. Okay... so the scents that are here right now.. Are the strongest... this.. is faded a bit... She tried connecting what she had to the knowledge she had been given. She flinched then when Nettlepaw spoke up. Her shoulders deflated a bit and she stared at the dirt, her ears pressed back against her head.

For a split second the tom thought the apprentice deserved a good ear clawing but instead, his fur spiked up and he didn't say anything for a few moments. "Then tell me. What is it and how long ago did it pass through?" His narrowed gaze had a somewhat cold expression to it as he waited patiently for Nettlepaw's reply. He managed to flash Speckledpaw an apologetic look before resting his tail tip briefly on her shoulder.

Speckledpaw looked up at Sharpstar and smiled softly, letting the leader know that she would be alright. Speckledpaw was a few months younger than Nettlepaw so it was natural that she was looked down on a little more than the other, at least that's what she thought.

Larkfeather's tail twitched in annoyance at Nettlepaw's attitude. He was notoriously hard on apprentices and maybe if it had of been him not Sharpstar in charge he would have given the apprentice a good clawing. But instead he moved over to Leafrain who stood a little apart from the group seeming rather deep in thought. "You seem concerned" he commented.
Leafrain looked up as Larkfeather came over and shrugged slightly, "We are getting closer and closer to the smoke- soon it may start to become quite difficult for some of us to see and breathe. Smoke is more dangerous for us then some think" she explained to the warrior. She had been wondering whether to speak with Sharpstar on her concerns, considering getting the leader to pause the journeying to get the others to help search for some herbs just in case. Eventually she had discarded the thought thinking that she had worried too much but somehow something still nagged at her.

Pineclan is still open, I'm not quite sure why everyone faded off. I want all of you opinions,
1) Should we close Pineclan?
2) Should we keep Pineclan
3) Should we all together make a new clan (Possibly claim a cat style)
