Sharpstar forced himself to relax as he signaled for his patrol to gather and head out. Keeping a wary eye on Nettlepaw, he gently brushed his apprentice's side with his tail before picking up the pace from a regular walk to a brisk one, beckoning for his patrol to keep up with his pace. "Leafrain, keep an eye on the patrol's tail. We don't want any unexpected visitors." He called over his shoulder. "Nettlepaw, judging by the way the wind is blowing, can you tell if we're upwind or downwind?" He studied her from out of the corner of his eye, keeping his ears swiveled forwards.
Yarrowfur bounded towards Foxlight, her tabby fur matted and clotted with mud. Underneath her golden fur, she burned with embarrassment but made no comment on her appearance. Instead, she started off saying something with a bubbly attitude. "I missed the meeting. Did anything exciting happen?"

Nettlepaw sniffed as she processed Sharpstar's words, she twitched her ears and concentrated to feeling the wind brush her fur. I'm sure it's downwind, I can just feel it, The apprentice hesitated before speaking; she hoped that she was right, after all Nettlepaw did not wnat to embaress herself by giving the wrong answer infront of the others. "Downwind?" She answered, flattening her ears in case she was wrong. |

"Yeah. That was totally what I was thinking. They may be older than me, but they're still young." Rainpaw said, matter-of-factly. She didn't know what to say, for once. She wanted to keep talking to her fellow apprentice, but, conversation was difficult when the grey cat wanted Nettlepaw to die.

Cinderflight noticed Berrywhisker flinch, and at first she didn't know why. Then she noticed that his leg had brushed against something. She hesitated a moment, uncertain if she should ask if he was alright. She shook off her doubts, it wasn't like she would be insulting by asking. "Alright, I'll look for some... are you alright?"
[ Foxlight | Deputy ] Foxlight flicked an ear as Yarrowfur spoke and shook her head. She was about to reply herself, but Thymepaw had beaten her. Foxlight frowned at her apprentice, and said in a stern tone, "It's not your place to judge who Sharpstar brings on a patrol. I understand that you would rather be with them than here, but there's no use in complaining anymore about it-" Her voice softened slightly as she continued. She glanced at Mintpaw as she proceeded. "You both need to learn how to carry on and do your best to enjoy yourself. Even on a boring hunting patrol."
Foxlight looked back towards Yarrowfur. "Sharpstar is investigating the smoke with a small patrol, you were mentioned to join out hunting patrol." |

[ Kestralpaw | Apprentice ] Kestralpaw offered her a hesitant smile. "Yeah, they're Sharpstar's problem now I guess," Kestralpaw said jokingly. He was still worried for them, but he tried to push that to the back of his mind. He lightly prodded Rainpaw in the shoulder with his paw before dropping down into a mock fight stance. "We should play!" He said excitedly, upon realizing he was not scheduled for a single training or patrol for the first time that day. It would be nice to just play instead of worrying constantly. |

Rainpaw was delighted in the change in Kestrelpaw's behavior, and copied his stance. "That would be fun." Her mind wandered slightly to what Nettlepaw might be getting into on the trip, and silently hoping Sharpstar was regretting his foolish decision.
Yep. Still slightly salty over this, apparently)

(I feel so bad for Foxlight. She had Thymepaw and her temper for five moons XD XD Whats worse is I imagine Thymepaw has died down a lot since she was a young apprentice. yikes.
TBH if she hadn't been gloating Thymepaw would have been a little irritated but chill, like with Speckledpaw)
The grey tabby let out a huff, but remained silent, for now at least. She knew that Foxlight was right, and it wouldn't get her any further with complaining. She unsheathed her claws, digging into the soft dirt in the camp, finding comfort in that. "Sorry Foxlight." She mumbled sheepishly, knowing that she must have crossed a line for her mentor to have told her off like that. The deputy was typically a patient she cat who put up with Thymepaws admittedly ridiculous antics and temper.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Berrywhisker snapped, fur prickling for a moment, "I'm fine. Seriously, what is with you cats and asking me that?" He asked, tone a little less sharp. The dark tabby shook himself, as if he where shaking away the bad thoughts. "Sorry.. Just... Sorry. Thank you, if you find any herbs that would be great." He mumbled, focusing on his herbs so he didn't have to make eye contact with the warrior. Great. Great way to get your clanmates to like you Berrywhisker. He thought irritably.

Speckledpaw looked down in disappointment, she thought for sure that they were traveling upwind at the moment. She began to think about it and hoped that this journey would be a good training experience for her. She looked up at Nettlepaw, tilting her head. It made her wonder. Why did the leader choose his apprentice to bring along? She knew that Sharpstar was smarter than just to bring Nettlepaw, there had to be a reason.

Foxlight noticed Thymepaw had become quiet and was eased by this. Thymepaw was a great apprentice, but could have a short temper at times. Foxlight was just happy that Thymepaw knew when to quit and didn't pursue the topic any further, she was proud of her for this. She remembered when she was younger Thymepaw had a harder time with this. Foxlight looked down at Mintpaw then back to Yarrowfur. "If everyone's ready, we should head out soon. Thymepaw, where do you think we should hunt today?" Foxlight didn't usually ask apprentices where they wanted to hunt, but she figured today was a special day.
[ Kestralpaw | Apprentice ]
Kestralpaw hopped back as Rainpaw followed his lead and said, "You're it!" He darted away, not quite paying attention to where he was running. Kestralpaw also hadn't thought out how dull it would be to play tag with only two apprentices, but as he ran he figured they could add a twist to it to make it more fun. |

Thymepaw blinked, surprised that Foxlight would want her input on where they should go. "Well... The Deer path is always an easy place to catch prey, so if we want to have a for sure successful hunt we should go there," She began cautiously, glancing at her mentor as if for affirmation, "But..." She hesitated, trying to think. "If we wanted a challenge we could always hunt around the Ancient Larch, where we could practice hunting in the trees." She offered her input, watching Kestralpaw and Rainpaw, her voice faint as she was distracted by the other two apprentices.

> From his spot farther behind where most of the Clan had been gathered together, Nightfur watched the commotion between his Clanmates with enigmatical eyes, practically purring as he found the whole ordeal completely entertaining. "My, my, what an interesting turn of events." His voice was light, mellifluous in tone. The black tom wasn't exactly the most sympathetic cat, though - he didn't even blink an eye when Thymepaw clearly expressed her frustrations about not being chosen to leave with Sharpstar's group. Instead, he simply sent a warm, but impish glance to the departing cats, his tail swishing playfully as he bid them good luck. He then made his way closer towards the majority of his remaining Clanmates, wishing to hear what they had to say about the dramatic situation. "Sharpstar sure knows how to stir a crowd, isn't that right?" Nightfur mused to no one in particular, ears pointed forwards to pick up on various conversations.

The gray she-cat felt concern towards the younger ones, especially Thymepaw, as some apprentices hadn't been chosen to go along with their leader to check on the mysterious smoke. As much as she wanted to go and comfort them, she stood her ground and sent each of them a worried glance instead, and awaited to see what else would occur as Sharpstar's patrol departed from the Clan's entrance. "Oh man...that was sorta intense!" Willowleap exclaimed, not realizing if her obvious statement was silly or not.. "Well, that's done with." She murmured, more to herself than anyone. Now she simply looked around to see how her Clanmates reacted, but was soon becoming restless by sitting in her spot for so long. "Ugh, I'm bored..."

Winterheart rose from the spot where he was grooming himself and decided that it would be a good time to do some solo-hunting for the clan. He was looking for squirrels, but planned to catch anything that crossed his path.

(( I hope everyone had an amazing christmas! :3 Sorry for the slight inactivty now christmas is over I'll be a lot more active again- except I won't be on for New Years Eve or the next day  )) Larkfeather waited in patient silence as Sharpstar questioned the apprentice considering what would be the correct answer himself. As the smoke had dispersed over most of the territory it made it made it more tricky to find the direction particularly since the winds could still change. But the scent of smoke was stronger than usual and given the way the wind was blowing he felt as though the apprentice had given the correct response. Leafrain sniffed leaving the journey planning to the warriors her mind instead on other things. The closer they got to the source of the smoke the more damaged the herbs in the area would become, either from ash coating, lack of sunlight or air, or even destroyed in whatever was causing all this trouble. Maybe she ought to considering collecting things along the way and setting up small store supplies along their route. At least then there would be supply of non-damaged herbs somewhere she knew of. Then again with the cold seasons coming they needed every berry, leaf and root they could get their paws on, if in the end she didn't use her picked herbs it would simply be a waste. Mintpaw made no comment to the deputy and simply directed her green gaze elsewhere. Maybe she was acting like a kit by being upset over Sharpstars selection of cats, or maybe she just felt it was one thing to many. The fluffy she-cat maintained her unusual silence as Foxlight asked Thymepaw where to hunt keeping her jaw firmly shut and eyes on her paws. In normal cases anyone would still expect Mintpaw to huff over the comment or make some other remark, maybe ask to go off hunting alone even. |

I am so sorry everyone I just broke my arm and because of that, I won't be on as much anymore but the moderators that I assigned to this clan can continue leading this clan for a while somebody role plays Sharpstar or any other characters mine I am leaving Foxtrots, Lordclover, and anyone else who I assigned to be a moderator. I'll be going to surgery next week. )
