(Sorry for all the trash posts lately. It's been a little rough.)
Tentatively, Dapplestorm dropped down beside him. Leafsplash teasingly called him touch-averted, and in some ways, he supposed, he was. A tail on his shoulder tended to shock him. He was comfortable enough with cats like Leafsplash or his former mentor, but when it came to most of the clan, they usually interacted with a decent amount of space between them. But then there was Pidgeonwing, who behaved like those invisible barriers didn't exist at all, who pushed on their edges and made Dapplestorm realize maybe they'd been made of smoke all along. Maybe he wasn't untouchable.
Dapplestorm knew he could ask him to back off. He just... did not want to do that. For reasons.
"What do you want know about warrior life?" he offered. "I can... start anywhere you want. If you still want to, anyway."

Pidgeonwing nestled up close to Dapplestorm and rested his head on his front paws. The sunshine was fully on him and relaxing his sore muscles. He was perfectly comfortable right now and could already feel himself starting to drift off.
"Tell me about when you were a kit. Or your early apprentice days. I want to know what it was like living in the Clan from the very beginning. I want to know what it's like to be a real wild cat."

"Oh," Sadie meowed. "Hello."
Admittedly, the sight of the unfamiliar brown tabby startled her a bit. If Sadie could have it her way, she would easily chose to move through this PrideClan like a ghost - unseen, unheard, unacknowledged. The idea of all these battle-hardened warriors watching her made a shiver run through her pelt. The fewer of them she interacted with, the better.
Still, she could hardly bow out now. The last thing she wanted to do was to anger a proper clan cat. She would just have to wait for a comfortable opening.
"I'm Sadie," she continued politely, if not a bit awkwardly. "I don't think we've met."

Dapplestorm snorted, shaking his head. "We've been out hunting in the forest all morning," he pointed out. "And you're the only one who caught any prey. I think that makes you a real wild cat now."
Beside him, Pidgeonwing looked... cozy. Warm. Comfortable. Dapplestorm almost felt bad for prodding at him; if he wanted a story, he deserved a story, no protests attached.
"I was a pretty boring kit," he began, slow and a bit uncertain. "I told you my mother was a former kittypet, and my sister is the medicine cat apprentice now." His voice took on a distant, nostalgic note as he wandered further into his memories, forgetting the forest, forgetting the press of Pidgeonwing's pelt against his, forgetting everything but the story. "She was... fierce. But not unkind. She never wanted to hurt anyone else. Those things are all still true, actually. Anyway, she was - she is - my best friend. We trained together from the time we were kits until she quit her warrior duties and became a medicine cat apprentice instead."
He'd missed her, after that. He never told her; after the attack, she'd seemed infinitely smaller, so fragile beside him. It didn't help that she'd stayed petite while he'd started growing to a respectable size. Her medicine cat duties had turned her will to iron again. He meant what he'd said earlier, about her being kind first and fierce second, and she'd stayed that way, too, but the fire had returned to her eyes, and he had been grateful. So grateful.
For a while, every night, he would sit by her nest in the medicine cat den and sit guard over her until she fell asleep. That had been when the cobwebs had still been plastered to her face, the fear still fresh in her eyes, and he'd wondered, sometimes, about losing her. It had been ridiculous; he'd known she'd been spared, that her physical wounds had been minimal. But the light in her had been dulling rapidly, and all he'd been able to think about had been the moment it would go out.
So he'd been fiercely proud, the moment she'd told him she would become Fishspot's apprentice. But it had felt lonely, too, to tread the paths of the forest without his lifetime companion.
He blinked, dazed. "Sorry," he meowed. "I, uh - where was I? Oh, right. Apprenticehood was hard work, but it was rewarding. My mentor taught me a lot - how to properly fight, how to hunt, how to patrol the borders." He laughed to himself, and if it was still a bit distant, he hoped Pidgeonwing wouldn't comment. "And I learned a lot about handling ticks. Not a pleasant job, but somebody has to take care of the elders."

Right sorry)
Vixenfrost leads the way out of camp. She decided to head for the stream. There was bound to be some prey located there.

Lilypaw followed Vixenfrost and kept a look out for prey. She twitched her ears and felt the ground beneath her paws. Based on where they were headed, Lilypaw assumed they were heading for the stream and she hoped to find some good prey for the clan.

"So what do you smell"? Vixenfrost asked looking over her shoulder at her. She didn't know how much Lilypaw knew but she would see soon enough.

"So what do you smell"? Vixenfrost asked looking over her shoulder at her. She didn't know how much Lilypaw knew but she would see soon enough. Lilypaw sniffed the air and caught the scent of squirrel and mice. She kept pace with the warrior and fixated her green eyes on Vixenfrost. "Squirrel and mice," Lilypaw told her.

She suddenly was a bit self-conscious of her appearance, and tried in vain to lick down some of her spiky fur. She often felt like she wasn't fitting of her position, so she hoped to show this new clan-goer just a little bit of authority. "Have you gotten settled in yet?" she asked, peering around Sadie's shoulder and into the den. •♔•

"Correct." Vixenfrost mewed as she continued walking. "Mmm the squirrel seems to be close. Do you want to try and catch it"?
