Duskstar paused when he heard his name called and saw Lightheart approaching him. He chuckled softly when he heard what Lightheart had to say. "Unfortunately, I have to say she is staying. I wish I could give you better news, but she has kits on the way. New kits means new Clan born apprentices. That's the good news out of this scenario. If you wish to discuss this further, we can converse in my den."
--
Pidgeonwing had never been so happy to enter camp in his entire life. He finally let himself relax and sat down near the warrior's den. "Thank StarClan we're back!" he said loudly. "Now are we going to hang out for that nap, or do you have another cat to attend to?"
--
"Well now that you're thinking smarter and being faster, the actual attacking comes in," Speckledstone said. "Now, if you're one on one fighting with a fox you should never try to kill it. Chances are it'll get you first. So your main goal is to just scare it off by taking it by surprise."

(Okay, on that note, I'm lowkey as tired as my boy Pidgeonwing, so I'm gonna go sleep now. I'll be on after school tomorrow, probably. Night!) (Good night~ Talk to you tomorrow maybe~)

Jaypaw nodded. "How would I surprise a fox? Don't they usually have really good noses and ears?"

(Night December!)
Lightheart already knew the answer, yet it made his fur prickle slightly when he heard the answer. "Please." He meowed in response to the offer of talking in a more private setting. He followed slowly into the leader's den and sat up straight, wrapping his tail around his side and front paws. "You should reconsider this." He said in a slightly warning tone. As much as he didn't want to seem like he thought he had authority over the leader, he also couldn't let this be seen as supposition or jealousy. "You could be putting those kits to death if you let her stay here. Forest kits are different from the kittypet kits. We carry sickness that they could die from- twolegs have the cure. They can't find that out here. I urge you to send her back." He's started to lean a bit forward in urgency towards the middle of his spilling explanation.

Speckledstone nodded and climbed to her feet. She started to walk back and forth across the clearing as she lectured Jaypaw. "They do indeed. But it's more simple than that. The element of surprise is good in any battle. Imagine if I pounced on you right now while we were just talking. You would be caught off guard and wouldn't be able to respond right away. That's what you want to keep in mind. However, the fox has the same opportunity, keep that in mind. You must always have a guard up while out in the forest."
--
Duskstar listened intently to Lightheart's concerns. Though he felt some of the worrying was unwarranted, he also felt it necessary to hear out what this warrior had to say. He nodded slightly a few times before speaking. "I value your opinion on the matter, Lightheart. However, I can't send her back now. I have faith in our medicine cats to help her kits if they do get sick. And, if we let her go now, she'll have nowhere to return to. Need I remind you that this Clan wasn't built on forest born cats. It was built on strays and kittypets a like." He paused for a moment looking thoughtful. "Also, I'd like to see you try and tell a queen that she'll have nowhere to raise her kits. Doesn't always go over so well." He chuckled slightly before continuing. "Please, give it a day or two to settle down. She'll fit in with the rest of us. I promise." Another pause. "I'm sorry that they Clan has been taking in quite a few cats recently.... But we were built on the ideal of being a safe haven.... I won't let that ideal die here."

Lightheart leaned back and let his posture fall by Duskstar's second sentence. This is how he'd figured the conversation would have gone. Lightheart let his gaze drop from Duskstar's eyes and settled it on the walls of the den. He wasn't sure he could look him in the eye after giving up so easily on this new cat. His ears flicked back and forward and he threw in a comment during the time Duskheart paused. "I don't need reminding, Duskstar. I am thankful for being allowed into the clan every sunrise." He was silent for the rest of Duskstar's declining explanation. Finally, the orange tabby glanced back up to Duskstar's face. "Of course. Thank you Duskstar." he stood on all four of his paws and paused before turning to leave the den. "Anything else?"

"It might just be us." Vixenfrost glances around to see if anyone else wanted to join them. However, no one else seemed to be paying them any attention.

However, no one else seemed to be paying them any attention. oops I must have missed this) Lilypaw nodded and continued towards the camp enterance. It had been some time since she went out without her mentor but she felt excited to be going with just one other clan member. She wanted to impress the warriors so that by the time she was one, they would know she was a good warrior.

However, Lightheart, don't feel as if I'm taking your concerns lightly. I understand the dangers of forest life and will see to it that she knows it as well. Thank you for coming to talk to me. You may leave now." He went over to his nest and laid down, ready to take a short break before the next thing came up in the Clan.

Dapplestorm blinked, amused at the idea that he had a line of cats just dying to spend time with him. "The nap sounds fine to me," he replied. "Come on. Let's go find a good spot."
Dapplestorm had to admit, he wasn't really the napping type. He tended to be all go with a bit of crash at the end; he rose early, worked hard, and allowed himself to sleep only when he was sure there was nothing left to be done or he absurdly couldn't stay awake much longer. The next day, he awakened with the sun and started over. You're going to make yourself sick, Leafsplash scolded him, sometimes. Just take a nap or something, mousebrain. The idea of resting hardly existed in his vocabulary, though.
Tentatively, he led Pidgeonwing over to a sunny area off to the side of camp, nestled in a patch of particularly bright wildflowers. "Is this okay?" he prodded. "I can find something else, if you prefer the shade." Honestly, though, his bet was still on sunshine.

(Dapplestorm: i don't really do naps Pidgeonwing: nap with me Dapplestorm: I LOVE NAPS NOW)
Pidgeonwing flopped down into the patch of flowers and laid on his back. "I love the sunshine!" he purred. Which was true since his former hobbies as a pet included napping all day in the sunshine. He remembered all of the best locations in the house to catch the rays. It took him awhile to master them all, but once he knew them he could be found in all the places like clockwork.
He waited for Dapplestorm to lie down beside him so that he could try and cuddle a little bit. And also he was hoping that Dapplestorm would tell him a little bit more about the warrior way of life as he had experienced it. Since Dapplestorm was Clan born, Pidgeonwing trusted his opinion on what actually went on within the Clan and how the whole thing worked.

(SORRY. I've been really busy tonight. I'm just gonna pretend she napped and wake her now, lmao.)
For a moment, when Sadie woke, she could have believed she was back in her twolegs' den, curled up on their living room rug, sunlight dappling her pelt. The scent of moss hit her slowly, and as her nose twitched, she uncovered more - wildflower, fresh earth, cat coming from every direction. Drowsily, she blinked.
Of course. PrideClan.
A part of her wanted to roll over into her fantasy again, close her eyes and hope to dream of home. She wanted to hold that moment, than beautiful illusion, just a heartbeat longer, as if touching it then could bring it to life. Unfortunately, though, her clan was waiting just outside of the safety of her new nest, and with a heavy, unsteady heart, she emerged into the sunlight.
With any luck, she would fall asleep again tonight a little more certain - about her supposed new name (whenever that arrived), about the supposed safe haven for love this place was, about her role in a clan that had not nurtured her, that smelled like loneliness instead of home.

"Where are we going to go?" she asked looking at Vixenfrost as she stood outside of the camp. There were a lot of places to go but the she-cat decided to let the warrior take the lead.

•♕• @december Beetlewing stepped into the sunlight, shaking her head, attempting to clear her mind of distractions, something which she had been dealing with a lot lately, it seemed. The dirt beneath her felt warm against her paws, and Beetlewing squinted in the sunlight, a low purr emanating from her throat. Troubled thoughts abound, it was a beautiful day, and the cat could hardly waste it sunbathing. She opened her mouth, the various scents of her home wafting into her nostrils, reminding her of her duties, and of her friends. The milky-warm scent of the nursery, the alluring scent of the freshkill pile, the mouse bile-ridden smell of the elders den, the stinging scent of the herbs in the medicine cat den- Beetlewing started, squinting her eyes. A foreign scent had intruded, a foreign scent of a foreign cat. Beetlewing could see her, standing, looking unsure and wary with tabby fur and a belly full of kits. She had heard of the newcomer, much to her chagrin, as she would have preferred to be told first hand rather than discovering it inbetween the grapevine. the quick tongue of clan cats led to gossip, and Beetlewing had decided she would like to meet this mysterious cat. Stretching her legs and padding, over, she called a greeting to the she-cat, after all, the deputy needs to make a good first impression! •♔•
