[apologies!! things have been pretty busy today. btw, what time of day is it currently in RP?]
Lionsky gave her pelt a violent shake. The raindrops were starting to fall more heavily now and it wouldn't be long before she would be soaked.Thankfully, the camp entrance was just ahead. She ducked her head to avoid the swath of moss and vines that led into the rock covered hollow. Lionsky could see that Cavegrowl was conversing with Iceberry and she figured the border patrol must've already returned and delivered their report. Waving her tail, the golden-colored she-cat disappeared into a shady vine crevice that was sheltered from the freezing rain. She had been up since dawn without any rest so it was a relief to finally relax for even a little bit.
Honeybrook finished his vole, licking his chomps to savor the warm taste. Rainfall started to patter at his fur with a gradual increase. Stretching, he remained at his spot and plopped down on his side observing the activities of the camp.

{{ No worries your good and it is a little past sunhigh but because of the storm rolling in the sky is dark and gloomy }}
By the time the patrol made it back to camp Timberfall could feel the cold rainwater seeping through his pelt and touching his skin. Quickly shaking after he came through the entrance tunnel he went and set the pheasant down on the freshkill pile and glanced around. The cats from the border patrol were back and Hareleap was the closest. Trotting up to the tom he spoke, "How did the patrol go?" He asked curiously as he moved underneath the branches of a tree that hung over the camp.

[Going to be extra poofy over the weekend. Just an fyi.]
Hareleap stood as Timberfall approached him. The large, tan tom flicked his tail in greeting to the deputy. "A rogue cat from the marshlands attacked. He practically waged war on us." His eyes flashed with anger at the threat made towards his clan.
Swallowsong padded back in to camp and dumped her fresh kill on the pile. She then rethought her decision and picked out her mouse. She made her way over to a moss covered log and sat beneath it, chowing down on her meal.
Geckoeyes couldnt help but purr alongside Fallowleaf. He took several more bites of their shared meal and bumped it back over to the she-cat. "You know- i dont know if you can tell but, i like you," the tom stated, turning his head to look at her. His swirling green eyes were warm and soft, looking at her in a way that could melt some she-cats hearts. Geckoeyes was pretty good at being affectionate but when came to actually talking about it, he faultered a little. More often than not he just stated the obvious and hoped for the best.

Fallowleaf began to eat up the last of the squirrel and listened to what the tom had to say. Her long furred tail tip flicked curiously at his words. "Really? I couldn't tell", she teased him and then twined her tail with his and gave him a warm look with her soft pale green eyes. She felt as if the tom didn't need to speak, yes it was nice to hear him say those things but to her his actions spoke louder than his words and she appreciated him never being shy with them.
Timberfalls fur bristled slightly at the news that Hareleap had given him. "Those cats are too cocky for their own good. How can one cat rage war on an entire clan", he meowed irritated by the Marshland cats. However after he spoke he realized that what if it wasn't just one cat. What if they were coming together...
Cavegrowl shrugged and stood up, "I have no idea but who ever she sends I wish them luck cause it looks as if after this storm the Marshlands might not be safe to navigate through. Here come on lets get you back into the medicine cat cave before Stoneshadow fusses at you", the tom added and offered Iceberry a shoulder to lean on so he could help guide her back through the storm. by now the water droplets has gone from the size of a poppy seed to the size of a small berry and it was coming down harshly.

Iceberry rolled her eyes, knowing that Cavegrowl was right. If she stayed any longer out here, Stoneshadow might just keep her in the medicine cats den an extra day or so to make sure she hadn't gotten sick from the rain. The tom was a bit overprotective over his clanmates, but it was an endearing trait, for the most part at least. She shook her head at the offer, meowing, "If I can show Stoneshadow I can walk on my own, he might let me out sooner." She explained, wincing as the water droplets hit her fur like hail. The water was freezing! She made her way back to the den slowly, slipping a little on the mud, having to resort to lean on Cavegrowl, the ground too slippery to get a good hold on it.

{{ After the storm }}
Timberfall flicked his tail to Hareleap. "Thank you for telling me I'm going to go talk to Moss-star about this. Why don't you go find some shelter?", with that said the tom then raced straight for Moss-stars den to discuss with her a course of action. The rain was now coming down so hard that drain off water was flowing into the hollow making large puddles at the very bottom. The brown tom tucked into the leaders den and started to discuss with Moss-star what they were going to do.
Viperfang had fallen into a soft light sleep with her kits and Stormgaze. Suddenly she was awaken by the yowls of her kits and the feeling of freezing cold water soaking her pelt. Jumping up the brown tabby she-cats eyes widened with horror. Drain-off rain water was flooding into the nursery soaking her and her kits. "Help!!! The nursery is flooding!", the queen yowled and looked down at her kits. Quickly she scooped up Falconkit and tried to go for Icekit as well but carrying two kits was just not possible. "Grab a kit!", she meowed frantically to Stormgaze before rushing out of the nursery and heading straight for the medicine cats den.
Cavegrowl was in the middle of helping Iceberry to the medicine cats den when he heard a call for help and turned around. To his surprise he noticed Viperfang rushing out of the nursery soaking wet carrying a kit. The queen was headed straight for the medicince cats den. "Whats wrong?!", he asked the queen. As she rushed past him he made out the muffled words of 'nursery is flooding'. The queen was trying to save her kits from the cold freezing water.
The water was filling up the nursery faster than they knew and Rosekit yowled as her body became soaked with freezing cold water. Coughing she spat water out of her mouth, her tiny claws gripping to the mossy nest. Suddenly a wave of water rushed into the nursery knocking the she-kit loose from her spot and sweeping her away out a small hole in the back of the den. Rosekit was gone. {{ One of the other kits can join her if you want. I have a plan }}
Icekit yowled loudly as the cold water made his shake uncontrollably. He had perched himself ontop of a tall mound of moss trying to escape the water and he wailed for help. The warmth of his mother and siblings was no where to be felt and his eyes were still sealed shut so all the young tom-kit knew was the cold and the darkness.

Honeybrook's ears and head perked up from his lazy perch, hearing the desperate yowls of the queen. With haste, he shot up to his paws and made his way to the nursery. The rain was heavy and cold, seeping and pouring into the den. There was a high level of water that made its way into the hollowed area. Carefully the sandy tom entered with some resistance at his legs as the flooding slowed his movement. His head swung wildly around looking for even the smallest sign of one of the kits, but there was none to be found. "Rosekit! Emberkit!" He yowled, hoping for at least a mewling cry to be heard.

{{ @chasingfreedomsheart wanna have Emberkit with Rosekit? }}
Viperfang rushed into the nursery and laid Falconkit down and began to rapidly lick the she-kit to dry her off and warm her up. "My other kits!", the queen meowed frantically wanting to go after her other kits but not daring to leave Falconkit. She looked at Stoneshadow with pleading eyes not quite sure what to do.
Cavegrowl quickly helped Iceberry into the medicine cats den and rushed to the nursery to aid the queens kits. To his dismay when he arrived he could see only Honeybrook splashing through the rising waters no kits in sight. "Quick look for a hole that the kits might have been washed out through", he ordered and dived into the freezing water to help look.
Moss-star and Timberfall were just finishing their discussion about sending a spy over to the Marshlands when they heard a commotion going on in the lower part of the camp. Peaking their heads out of the den they realized that it was coming from the nursery which was flooding. The two cats quickly left the shelter of the leaders cave and bounded down to he nursery. "What is happening", Moss-star demanded with a worried look in her eyes. "The kits are gone, they must have been washed out with the flooding water", Cavegrowl yowled to the she-cat as she watched him paw at the walls of the den looking for where the kits could have gone. "Quick Timberfall assemble all cats strong enough to search outside the camp for the kits! They must be found!" Moss-stars voice felt stronger than it had in a while and her heart was determined to save the lost kits.
Timberfall nodded and called out, "Fallowleaf! Geckoeyes! Lionsky! You three search the areas right outside of the hollow for the kits. Hareleap! Help Honeybrook search the camp. Swallowsong! Stormgaze come with me to search the outter edges just in case the water has swept them out further than expected." The large brown toms orders rang out through the sound of the rain. Suddenly the air lit up with electricity and lightning stuck the ground outside of the hollow, and it was quickly followed by a roar of thunder. To his bewilderment he watched as Moss-star froze and then took off running straight for where the lightning had struck. Growling he let her go, the deputy didn't have time to put up with a crazy old she-cat.
Rosekit flailed her little dark russet paws trying to stay above the water. She tried to wail for help but every time she opened her mouth to call for help it quickly filled with water. Spitting it out she reached out with her claws extended and soon her tiny sharp claws caught hold of a branch and she did her best to haul her tiny shaking body to the top of the branch.

[Sure!sorry for the meh post. Ill be back on a comp in 12-24 hours]
Emberkit wailed as the large wave hit him and Rosekit. He shook uncontrollably as his body temp lowered quickly. With his eyes still clasped tightly shut and his ears still folded, he had very little to his advantage. He collided with his sister as she clung to a branch and was able to clasp on to her- but just barely.
Geckoeyes purred and nuzzled the shecar- but the moment was broken when the shreik of the newly kitted she-cat filled the air. He shot to his feet and bolted towards the commotion. Quickly he rushed in to the nursery to recover another kit, but to his devistation, there was none to be found. He splashed around in the ever-deepening water for what seemed like forever, but he found no trace of the too russet kittens. His eyes were filled with grief as he padded out of the den, tail low. He looked at Viperfang and bowed his head, shaking it slightly. He was then ordered to sweep the perimeter, and without a second thought he dashed out to look for the missing kits.
Chickadeewing went to work. Looking for the missig kits her bi colored eyes flashing with worry.
Hareleap watched in horror as Geckoeyes came out of the flodded den, green eyes filled with devastation. The large tom puffed up angrily. Not able to contain his horror. He went to work rhnning around the edges of camp, looking for the two russet kittens.
Swallowsong watched as Icekit was retrieved from the nursery. She rushed over and ushered them to the med cat den, tryig to get the kit to a warm and dry nest. She then left on the patrol to look for the missig newborns.

The golden-colored she-cat who was now out in the pouring rain was hastily searching the corners and narrows of the hollow. When Lionsky heard the deputy's orders, she perked up and gave a firm nod. It was a good call, too. There were already many searching cats throughout the camp and it would be better to gain more ground. Swiftly, she gave her tail a wave to Geckoeyes and Fallowleaf who were just behind and Lionsky vanished through the vine covered exit. ... Mud covered her paws and the rainfall had left her pelt soaking wet. With the cold gusts of wind still reaching down from the tree canopy, it felt as if she had just jumped into a freezing lake. It won't be long until the leaf-bare hits either.. Lionsky let out a sigh and she started to droop. The search felt hopeless on her end and there hadn't been one sign of the missing kits. Maybe it's... Jolting her head up and snapping back to her original composure, she shook the negative thoughts from her mind. There would be none of that especially in such a situation. Lionsky sniffed the air and continued the search, determined to find the kits!
A stray twig poked Honeybrook in the side and he gave a snarl of annoyance, pushing it to the side. "A hole?" He echoed, propelling himself through the rushing water and inspecting the sides. It was incredibly difficult to remain in position. Heavy rainfall demanded to sweep him off his paws and the cave walls were so dark. To find a passage way in this condition was definitely a challenge. Hearing Timberfall's order, he flicked his ear in reply. Honeybrook whirled around and struggled to exit the den. Just as he had almost made his way, a fresh wave of debris and rainfall made its way in. StarClan, you've got to be kidding.. Luckily, he was able to jump out of the den and onto a rocky perch. He shook his soggy pelt with relief and began to search around the exteriors of the hollow.

{{ Hey guyes just so you know I will have limited, and possible no access to my computer till tuesday. I'm sorry to put the RP on hold while I'm gone but just go slow and we will pick it up again come Tuesday for sure. }}
Viperfangs short tabby fur bristled, "Where are Rosekit and Emberkit? Where they not in the den?", she pushed. As she spoke the queen moved and loomed over her two remaining kits protectively not wanting anything else to happen to them.
Fallowleaf was right behind Geckoeyes the whole time and when she heard the two of them get called to patrol the outter edges she call to the tom. "Come on Geckoeyes, Timberfall wants up to patrol the outter edges around the camp", she meowed not sure if he had heard the patrol call. As she spoke she started to slowly follow after Lionsky wanting the tom to catch up and be with her. Her longgurred pelt was just now starting to get soaked through and a shiver ran through her body. If she was already this cold... how much longer could the kits survive.
Moss-star splashed through the forest with determination in her eyes. The old cat had a vision when the lightning flashed across the dark sky. She had to save these kits. Stumbling over roots and vines with numb legs the she-cat carried on. Suddenly the sound of faint mews touched her ears and she called out to them, "I'm coming kits!" The tabby old warrior rushed forth and within moment found two russet kits clinging to live at the edge of a small stream of run off water. Quickly and carefully the leader scoop the kits out of the water and found them to be ice cold. Her heart dropped with worry for their lives, she needed to warm them up now or they would die. Frantically she looked around for highground and soon found a partially hollowed out tree. Pushing through the freezing rain her numb legs miraculously carried her and the kits up the slope and into the shelter of the tree. There was not enough room for them all to fit so she shoved the kits in first and positioned her back to the outside to block of the wind and rain. Without hesitation she started to lick the kits warming them back to life.
Rosekit felt numb all over and when she felt her body picked up out of the water she fell silent, the cold creeping through her exhausted body. It wasn't until they were out of the wind and rain and a cat was licking her roughly did the small russet kit let out a pitiful mew.
Timberfall led the patrol to the outside of camp, "Spread out, leave nothing unchecked!", the large brown tom ordered to Swallowsong and Stormgaze. He willed himself to continue looking despite the freezing temperatures of the water. Sniffing and moving rocks and vines with his paws he looked for any signs of the kits, but every time he thought he caught their scent it was just something else and he moved further on around the camps outside edges.

(Kk. yeah same i'm going to be pretty inactive for the majority of this week but will try to check in when I can!)
Lionsky, a ways off from the rest of the patrol was investigating the outskirts of the hollow. She had stumbled upon a set of heavy paw tracks. She lowered her head, taking in the scent. \Moss-star? The prints were fresh which she found puzzling. Where did she go off to? Lionsky sincerely cared for the tough she-cat. Even though most of the clan had lost faith in her judgement, she wouldn't forget how the leader had led TangleClan in peace for many and many moons. Looking over her shoulder she gave a call to the others, "I'll be just up ahead, I'll let you know if I find anything." With that, she swished her tail and disappeared through the thick vegetation.

Stoneshadow hesitated, unsure of how to answer the clearly distressed mother. The dark grey tom glanced out into the rain, letting out a soft sigh. "No. No they weren't in the nursery, Viperfang. We have multiple patrols sent out, looking for Emberkit and Rosekit right now. They'll be back home before you know it." He finally answered, before looking around for Willowpaw. His apprentice could no doubt help her friend more than the quiet tom could.
Falconkit let out a loud cry, rolling over onto Icekit, confused and not sure what was going on. The cream colored kit fur was matted slightly from the water, making it uncomfortable for her.

Viperfang wanted to wail in distress but she held her composer. The queen was a warrior first and she took a deep breath and tried to reply on her fellow clanmates to help save her kits. Hearing Falconkit let out a faint cry she leaned down and picked her up and set her right up against her belly. The brown tabby queen then curled herself around her two kits to comfort them before looking out into the harsh weather hoping that her kit would be returned to her before it was too late.
Willowpaw came up and settled herself against Viperfang trying to give the queen some comfort. "Have faith Viperfang. We have many skilled warriors out looking for them, and your kits will be found." The young she-cats voice was soothing as she became to groom her friend trying to keep her calm.
Icekit continued to shiver from the cold but was soon warmed up when his mother tucked him and Falconkit against her belly. He noticed that Emberkit and Rosekit were not among them but that left his mind when Viperfangs milk-scent filled his nose and he soon began to suckle.
With her russet fur matted and sticking every which way Rosekit continued to mew loudly. There was a she-cat keeping them warm and out of the weather but this she-cat was unknown. Her scent was familiar, and slightly smelled like her mothers but it was not Viperfang and Rosekit took no comfort in being with a stranger.
Moss-stars body shivered fiercely and the leader was beginning to find it hard to keep her eyes open. She could feel the two kits fill with life and hear them meow loudly as they warmed up against her. She had saved them. The old leader knew that she had to get the kits back to camp before sickness set in, but the tabby she-cat couldn't find the energy to move, even her tail was still. Coldness seeped up from her frozen limbs and into her body and Moss-star knew what was happening. Having lost many lives before this it was a feeling she knew all to well. 'Starclan please let someone find us!' the words were an unspoken prayer as her eyes slowly closed and body gave in to the coldness. This was her last life and Moss-star knew it, however she did not regret her decision to give it up in order to safe these two kits. She would die protecting the clan that she loved so dearly, hopefully she would be honored and welcomed into Starclan.

Fallowleaf could hear Lionskys words and gave a mew in response so the she-cat knew that she had heard her. Putting her nose back to the ground the drenched long-hared cat tried her best to pick up the kits scents or even possibly see little tiny paw prints in the mud.

Falconkits cries subsided once Icekit was placed next to her, the little she cat finding comfort in her littermates presence. The tiny she cat squirmed slightly, before falling asleep once more next to Viperfang.
Stoneshadow studied the two she cats before turning his attention towards his herbs. Once his clanmates made it back, they would need to be taken care of. This rain was cold, and could get cats sick. Not to mention the newborn kits who where lost- they barely had any fur, and the fur they had wasn't nearly enough to keep them warm. He scanned his den, listing the free nests in his mind. He disappeared into his storage, grabbing some herbs that would help any returning cats.
Iceberry hesitated, unsure if she could help any. If anything she could be moved back to the warriors den, so there would be an extra nest for them to use.

( Poor Moss-star! Even though she's gone I'm excited to see how Timberfall will forward as the new leader of TangleClan.) Leaves and ferns tattered against Lionsky's flanks as she pushed through the dense undergrowth. The trail was unconventional and it was difficult for her to see much else other than thickets of vegetation and strong tree roots. Doubt rested in her chest and she was very much unsure where the path destined. In any case, Moss-star's scent kept strong and she relied on her nose and careful paw-steps to lead the way. Pausing, Lionsky hesitated. A feeble cry could be heard.. At first hard to distinguish but then it became clear. The kits! How Moss-star knew the newborns were out here was beyond her. Perhaps a call from the ancestors or even a chimerical hunch. Regardless, what did it matter? As long as they're safe. Hurrying now, the golden she-cat bolted out of the undergrowth and skidded to a halt through the muddied ground. Jubilation sang in her heart! Thank StarClan! They're alive! Moss-star was curled up tightly in front of the hollowed tree. Behind her, two meek tiny figures, mewling for the warmth and comfort of their mother. "In all the stars! Moss-star, I can't believe it.. Viperfang will rejoice when she sees her young ones have survived today." Swishing her tail, she approached the trio. "C'mon, we better get them back to camp before the cold chews us all up." The leader's figure remained steely and cold, the wind ruffling and blowing her light brown fur. Lionsky paused, looking to the old she-cat. "Moss-star?" There was no response. Only the desolate blows of the storm and the sharp cries of kits. She had joined the ranks of StarClan. Baffled and utterly devastated, anguish ripped at her like thorns. She had to choke back a wail of despair, flattening her ears and hunching her body, claws sinking into the dampened earth. It wasn't right. All the torment from Moss-star's once close warriors, sly remarks, constant doubts. Where was the respect, even a shred of decency? All cats under Silverpelt are fated to grow old and not all minds stay just as sharp. Moss-star was a great leader for all those moons. But even in her darkest moments, the leader's valiant spirit shined like the rays of the sun. The kits had been saved and would most definitely grow to be strong and healthy warriors alongside their siblings. It took a magnitude of willpower for Lionsky to regain composure and carry out her duties as a warrior. She moved past the leader's frail empty body and dipped her head into the hollowed tree. Licking at the kit's fur to give them some warmth, she knew that it wasn't possible to carry both at once. I'll have to head back to Geckoeyes and Fallowleaf, Lionsky picked up Emberkit by the scruff and left the area to return to the patrol... ... Emberkit's weight wasn't much of a struggle, nor did he fight from her grasp. Lionsky was near to the hollow now and spotted Fallowleaf just as she exited from the shrubbery. The kit dangled from her scruff, mewling weakly. She set the tom-kit down and gave him a few licks. "Where are the rest of the outer patrols?" She asked, raising her head. "It's just- something's happened..."

"No stay with me!", Viperfang meowed to her mate. She didn't want to be alone, and she found the most comfort when the tom was at her side. Burrying her muzzle into his pelt she breathed in his warm scent and tried to not worry about her two lost kits.
"You found them!?", Fallowleaf exclaimed and rushed forwards when Lionsky appeared with Emberkit. "What happened, where were they?" she quickly questioned giving the kit a sniff. "Timberfall and the inner patrol are just a yowl away. I'm sure if we call for them they will come help." The long-haired she-cat shook the cold water droplets off her soaked pelt and then moved to try and shelter the kit from the still pouring rain.

Lionsky nodded solemnly. "Moss-star found them and kept them warm but-" It was painful for the she-cat to speak. "her ninth life was lost." Raising her head, she was intensely solemn, her inner grief locked away. "We'll need a few cats to carry Rosekit and bring Moss-star's body back to camp. She deserves a proper vigil." Flicking her tail, she gave a call into the air, signaling for the other patrol. Lionsky was only focused on carrying out her duties and moving with haste. Rosekit was still out there and it was no place for a kit to be alone in the stormy cold.

Timberfall heard a yowl from what sounded like Lionsky and perked his head up. It was coming from further into the forest where there was dense vegetation. "Quick this way", he meowed to Swallowsong, "They must have found something", he urged before darting off into the thicker parts of the forest. He soon came upon Fallowleaf and Lionsky, who had Emberkit at her paws. "You found Emberkit, what of Rosekit?", he asked urgently.
Fallowleaf was stricken with shock at the new she had heard and when Timberfall arrived she had regained composer. "Lionsky found Moss-star sheltering them from the storm, but... the cold got to her and she lost her ninth life....", she meowed solemnly dipping her head in respect to their fallen leader.
Timberfalls eyes widened with shock and when he heard Emberkit mew he shook his surprise off and spoke. "Fallowleaf, quick, take Emberkit back to camp and to the medicine cats den immediately. Lionsky show us the way, we must rescue Rosekit and I must see Moss-star with my own eyes." It wasn't that the tom didn't believe her but he wasn't expecting to hear anything of the sort. If she was dead then that made him leader of the clan and inwardly he had a small fear of being leader. Looking at Lionsky, the large brown tom shivered as he waited for the she-cat to lead the way to where the two cats were located.
Fallowleaf nodded and quickly but gently scooped up Emberkit and hurried back towards the camp. Rain pattered down and the tom-kit swayed back and forth bumping her chest as she ran as fast as she could back to the shelter of the hollow. 'Starclan please let me make it back to camp in time for the kit to survive', she prayed inwardly her eyes squinting as the freezing rain water splashed in her face.

Lionsky gave a quick nod. "Of course." She had nearly forgotten how numb her body was from the cold and wouldn't be surprised if a bout of sickness struck her. Leading the group back towards the hilltop, the path was strangely familiar now. Her pace was quick as she pushed through the ferns and her expression grim. A few moments passed and the patrol was at the opening. They were on higher ground. The land sloped down and runoff streams coalesced below. The nursery will have to be secured.. too dangerous for an incident like this to happen twice. .. Lionsky slowed next to the hollowed out log. Moss-star's figure was in the same spot and Rosekit's mewls continued, though not as frequent. The patrol would need to be swift.
