These warriors prowl through dense forested lands covered with mossy knarled trees and great vines. Their clan names comes from the forest in which they reside in. To the untrained eye this tangled forest will trip you up and make you loose all sense of direction. In the thickest parts the tree canopy is so dense that even the sun cannot peirce through. The cats who live here have grown accoustomed to the terrain and it has caused them to have longer sharper claws for lots of clmibing and strong hind legs from jumping over any obsticle that might cross their path.
The Camp In the mid Northwest of the clans territory lies the Tangle Hollow, the beating heart of the clans forested lands. Consisting of a moss covered rocky hollow, vines tangle themselves around each rock and into every crevas. The dens are all lined with moss and the entrances covered in vines, the only thing giving away the camp would be that pathways created by paws over many seasons. The warriors, apprentices, and elders dens are all made into the rocky outcrop of the hollow. While the nursery and medicine cats den are actual caves that are big enough for 5 full sized cats to fit within. Covered entances block the sharp winds, and unwanted predator that pass through making the entrances small enough for only cat-sized and smaller may enter. The leaders den is located high within the rocky outcrop of the hollow, underneath a large flat moss and leichen covered rock created a cave like den. With walls made of brambles and vines the clan leader and his mate call this den home. Highrock is the rock above the leaders den where the clan leader addresses his/her clan where all can see.
Moss Hollow Further North from the camp and slightly to the East is the Moss Hollow. A shallow dip in the ground completly covered in a thick bouncey soft moss. The tree canopy blocks most of the sunlight only allowing small rays to reach the forest floor. This is where mentors usually take their apprentices to do their training, and where the apprentices being punshed are sent to retrieve moss as new bedding material for the dens.
Star Cave Straight to the East from the Moss Hollow and touching the Northeastern most part of the clans territory is Star Cave. A sacred place where clan leaders and medicine cats visit to speak with their ancestors. From the outside it just looks like the rocky outcrop of the mountain base and further on the mountains. But hidden among the boulders and rock crumble is the entrance to a cavern so big not even all of Starclan could fill it up. As you pad through the narrow entrance it leads you to a magestic dark cavern covered in clear and milky white crystals. When the moon reaches its peak there is a hole in the roof of the cave where its light can shine down into the cave lighting up the entire room with a starry glow.
Hare Meadow Southeast of the camp is a river that runs from Star Cave across Tangleclans lands and into the Marshlands. To cross river you would have to swim but most cats resort to the Fallen Oak, a large oak tree that had fallen over the river during a terrible storm, which creates a bridge from one side to the other. On the other side of the Fallen Oak is a lightly forested area and a wide meadow, also known as Hare Meadow for its abundant source of rabbits.
The Marshlands South of the clans territory across the Shallow Crossings is whats known as the Marshlands. Its currently unclaimed territory though some clan cats prefer the marshy lands for hunting and have even discovered a pine forest beyond it. Not much is really known about this territory and most of the clan cats avoid it not skilled enough to know how to navigate through the watery mush let alone hunt in it. Will become Marshclans Territory later on.
Current Season Mid Leaf-fall
Plot
Tangleclan, at the peak of its existance, thriving within the forest for many seasons now has grown in size. Everything is peaceful and has been for a while now. However nothing stays perfect for long. Due to the size of the clan its slowly starting to divide. A storm is brewing amongst its warriors and a new threat will arise. Moss-star has kept this rivalry at bay but she is growing older and one can only do so much before everything crumbles. Whispers have started and secrets are becoming common within the clan. With the clan leaders slowly failing health sides are being taken on who should succeed their beloved Moss-star. Will the clan split or can it be held together by a new successor? Only time will tell...
Please shoot me a PM if you are interested in a major role within the RP. Expect the clan to split into two so make enough characters for two different clans...
Roleplay Rules
- Be active and literate, as much as you can. Preferable no less than two sentences. - Don't make mary-sues. Don't powerplay, godmod, spotlight, or do any of that other obnoxious stuff people do. Play fair. - Be nice to people out of character. In character, you can be as rude as you want, but please don't cause needless drama just for the sake of causing drama. If it doesn't push forward a plot or add to character development, it's probably needless. - Keep your characters realistic. This includes appearance and behavior. While a cat doesn't need to be 100% realistic in appearance but keep it believable (for example, in real life you won't see a gray cat with black spots, but here it's fine). In behavior, try to keep them consistent, and make their reactions to things believable and consistent with their personality and experiences. - You must create an even gender of characters, so that things stay even and it makes it easier for everyone to find a mate. - To prove to me that you have read the rules put 'Tangled Hearts' in the Other section in the sign-up form. - If you know you wont be active for more than two days please be sure to inform me through PM or post it in OOC on the thread.

The sun was starting to set over the dense forest and Timberfalls green eyes swept over the clans camp. His gaze stopped when they landed on his leader, Moss-star. She was sunning herself within the last of the suns rays her once strong vibrant body looking frail and her fur dull. Unknown to the clan she had recently lost her 8th life in a battle against a terrible sickness. With only one life left this warrior looked more as if she was an elder... weak. Shaking his head he tried to not think of his leader in such a way. The clan had prospered greatly under her and she was nothing but a caring devoted cat. However he knew that others had no problem thinking of her as weak and even him as well for not already taking control and becoming leader himself. The large brown tom wrapped his tail around his paws and looked to the clan entrance, the dusk patrol should be back any minute now and he was eager to hear their report. Through the past moon a pair of foxes had been roaming through their territory and he was hoping that they finally left.
Cavegrowl trotted confidently over the Fallen Oak with a plump magpie clamped in his jaws. He was leading the dusk patrol back from patrolling Hare Meadow, the place where the foxes had last been scented. To their dismay the patrol had found where the foxes had started to dig a den, most likely a mated pair soon to be expecting. This was terrible news for the clan and something must be done about it right away. The last thing they needed on their territory was a hoard of foxes taking up residence within their boarders.

A pale grey paw carefully hooked a bundle of borage leaves out of a far nook within the medicine cats den. Willowpaw took only a couple of leaves out before returning the bundle to its rightful spot. Picking up the still green leaves with her narrow pale muzzle the she-cat quickly exited the medicine cats cave, her long fur slightly catching on the vines that covered its entrance. The apprentice was focused on her task ahead and made a be-line to the nursery. Viperfang was very close to kitting and her milk hadn't come in yet with worried the young medicine cat. If there was no milk there would be no hope for the queens kits to survive. Hopefully by giving the queen these herbs Willowpaw hoped to help Viperfangs body produce the milk needed for the new arrivals.
The fast beating heartbeat of the thrush as if pecked the ground for worms made Fallowleafs mouth water. She was starving from hunting all evening for the clan and was about to make her final kill. The shecats long mottled red and brown fur let her easily disguise herself among the leaf littered forest floor. The thrush made another peck at the ground and the warrior moved stealthily forward two more paces putting her in the perfect spot to make a solid pounce. Her body was poised for her next move and when the bird went to peck at the ground for a final time she pushed off the ground and landing firmly on top of it just as it was about to fly away. Crunching down on its neck Fallowleaf killed the prey and sent a quick prayer up to Starclan thanking them for the perfect catch. Picking it up she then headed to where she had buried the rest of the prey she had collected. Retrieving two mice and a squirrel as well as her thrush the skilled hunter set off straight for the Tangle Hollow ready to call it a day.

Viperfang was curled up within the nursery with moss and leaf litter surrounding her keeping her warm. The queens belly was was swollen full of kits and it was only a matter of time before she would have them. She lifted her head when she heard a cat approaching and found it to be Willowpaw. "Aww I see you've brought me some more borage leaves. I sure hope this works and helps my milk come in cause I swear I eat more leaves than mice these days", the queen joked. Willowpaw gave a small laugh as she set the leaves down infront of the brown tabby she-cat. "It will, I promise', the medicine cat apprentice then nosed towards the queen sniffing her experimentally and gave a nod of approval. "I can already catch the scent of milk so nothing to worry about my dear. Besides it looks as if you will need it, I have a feeling you will be having more than two kits." "I feel as if I'm going to birth a whole clan", Viperfang said jokingly in reply before eating up the leaves. Licking the bitterness of the leaves from her lips she then hauled herself to her paws. "Come on lets go catch the last of the sun before nightfall and get a bite to eat. I need to wash that taste out of my mouth." The two she-cat soon made their down to the freshkill pile and picked up a squirrel to share. Settling down in the last of the suns rays the two she-cats started to eat their choice of prey.

Sandfall had been in camp for that day, in his coughing and wheezing state there was no way he could possibly have gone on a patrol. Lately he had been pushing himself hard trying to find these foxes, give the leader more information, but with so little he was capable of he felt quite useless. Sandfall was not used to this feeling. He always tried to busy himself with sowmthing, just not in groups. He tried to avoid patrols and do solo patrols instead, of course he could not avoid them either way. Sandfall sighed and stood up from where he was sitting, against the medicine cat's orders to be still. He went out to camp enterance to greet the warrior that returned. The setting sun incapable of reflecting off of his dull and ruffled pelt. "Any luck?" He asked them

Cavegrowl led his patrol straight into the Tangle Hollow. "No foxes are at it again", he growled upset about the foxes. His dark amber eyes scanning the camp for the deputy, "Get well", he meowed to Sandfall before moving on. Finding the brown deputy not to far away he stalked straight for him, "I have bad new from the patrol", the dark charcoal grey tom meowed before reporting what he found out about the foxes starting to make a den in Hare Meadow. Moss-star not to far away heard the patrols report and sat up. Stiffly padding towards them she injected herself into the conversation. "Just send a patrol to fill in the hole and they should move on", she meowed firmly. Timberfall looked at his leader silently unsure of her decision. Cavegrowl on the other hand scoffed at his leaders order. "That wont make the foxes leave! They will just dig a new den and probably attack our patrol." His long dark grey fur was rising along his spine in frustration about his leaders clouded mind. These foxes would not live peacefully within their territory. If they got the chance they would kill and eat his clan members. "We need to attack, and drive them out! This is our territory and I wont let a pair of foxes run around all over it stinking it up and killing our clanmates and prey!"

Fallowleaf entered the hollow, her neck muscled straining under the weight of the prey she carried. Padding quickly to the fresh-kill pile and set the squirrel and mice down and kept the thrush for herself. The soft long haired mottled she-cat looked around the camp, there was a commotion coming from near the leaders den. A couple tail lengths away she could hear Cavegrowls intimidating deep meow growling about some foxes and wanting to drive them off. Curious about what was going on she settled herself next to a fern and started to pluck the feathers off her catch, her ears pointed directly at Moss-star, Cavegrowl, and Timberfall. There was no denying the fact that their once great leader was no longer great. In her old age, the she-cat mind was slowly slipping. All the cats in the clan knew it and if their leader didn't retire or pass naturally sometime soon, cats might take it into their own paws.

Oceanfeather had come back from a patrol herself, along with Fallowleaf. Both of them were laden with prey, it would be enough to feed the entire Clan with their whole patrol coming in behind them. She like to see TangleClan succeed. And Oceanfeather knew she would be the one making sure of that. There was no possible way Oceanfeather's whole life would be spent as an ordinary warrior, she had to move onto greater things. Their current leader was old, her mind not functioning properly. Oceanfeather already had a plan for what she would do, and how to win over the other's trust. Trust would come first though, and from there she has it figured out. Oceanfeather was glad to put down her prey and decided to sit by Fallowleaf. There seemed to be an intresting conversation around the Leader's den, something she would need to listen to. There was talk about foxes for the most part. And it intrigued her. This was border security they were dealing with and Moss star would have no idea what she was talking about. Borders were the matter she always failed to protect properly. She wanted to lash out at the leader at to lash out sometimes but knew that now was not yet the time....not yet. It would have to be done later.

"Moss-star, if I may interject. I believe Cavegrowl is right about the foxes. They cant be left to wonder around our territory, why don't you go rest and let me handle this", Timberfall meowed gently and respectfully to his leader trying his best to keep the peace. However Moss-star wasn't having it. The large brown tom could see the frail leaders light brown tabby and cream coat bristle and he knew the she-cat was loosing it.
Moss-star hissed and her pelt bristled. Unsheathing her claws she swiped at Timberfalls head. She missed by a whisker when the deputy dodged her blow when he quickly scooted back. Growling the deranged she-cat spoke. "I am clan leader and my word is law! I'm no elder to be shoved off to lay around all day! I am the leader of this clan and you will respect me. As for you Cavegrowl, I see what you trying to undermine me and I wont have it. I will lead the patrol myself. Bury the den and when I return I better not hear another word about this rediculous idea of taking on twp foxes!", With that said the she-cat turned around and looked at the cats within the camp. "Oceanfeather, Fallowleaf, Iceberry, and... Winterpaw! Your to accompany me to bury the foxes den immediately. Iceberry you know where it is, lead the way."
Both Cavegrowl and Timberfalls fur was bristled and a growl in their throat. Moss-star was mad, and not like angry mad... well that too, but the she-cat was crazy mad. The two toms sat glaring at the tabby she-cat as she gathered a patrol together. There was nothing for them to do but sit there, if she wanted to go out and bury it herself they were going to let her get her paws dirty. Inwardly they both were making mental notes on how to keep the rest of the cats in their clan safe from foxes.
Fallowleaf quickly finished her thrush and rose to her paws. Giving a sideways glance to Oceanfeather who had settled down next to her, the mottled long-haired she-cat dreaded the thought of going on the patrol. She had a few choice thoughts about the situation but decided that it would be best if she had just kept her muzzle shut and follow suit.

Winterpaw was laying infront of the apprentices den bored out of his mind when Moss-star called him to join the patrol. His mentor, Sandfall, wasnt feeling to good and hadn't given him a task yet today other than to hunt which he already did. The lean white tom jumped to his paws and rushed over to his leaders side excited that she had chosen him to do something. As he moved to stand by her side he looked at the treeline and could see the setting sun peeking through the trees just above the horizon. It looked like they would be burying and foxes den by moonlight, if it was all the way in Hare Meadow on the other side of the river.

Oceanfeather was surprised when Moss star called her onto the patrol, and she could tell that Fallowleaf was not enjoying the thought of another patrol. However, Oceanfeather's gears were turning. She was thinking about how she could play this to her advantage. The thought hit her like how Moss star was planning on hitting Timberfall. A smile crept across her face, but she quickly pushed it away as for cats not to get suspicious. Oceanfeather followed the others out of camp, making sure she was in the middle so that she could eventually rise to the front. When they were a safe distance from anyone in camp hearing she spoke, "Can you believe the nerve of Moss star?" Oceanfeather started out slow, not wanting to lose them by getting to the end of what she had to say when she only just started.

Winterpaw hung back a little from his leader not wanting to crowd the angered she-cat and ended up falling in step with Oceanfeather and Fallowleaf. His ears pricked forwards when he head Oceanfeather speak her mind to them. He kept quite for a moment and the silence that followed was soon filled with the words of Fallowleaf. "I agree with you that this is all nonsense but she is our leader. Timberfall and Cavegrowl shouldnt have challenged her like that", the shecat meowed simply. Winterpaw could tell that this patrol bothered the long-haired cat but also knew that she was all about peace and also didnt want a part of the conversation. He watched as she picked up her pace and left him trotting alone beside Oceanfeather. After a moment he looked at the she-cat, "I dont think Timberfall or Cavegrowl were in the wrong. Moss-star has lost her mind thinking its okay to let foxes live in our territory. Its mouse-brained to even consider not running them off", he meowed confidently but also careful to his keep voice down so no one else could hear him but Oceanfeather.

The pale she cat was honestly surprised that Moss-star had chosen her to lead the patrol. The warrior, young as she was, had never lead one before, and, in all honestly, was more comfortable taking up the rear instead of leading. She was more than aware that the only reason why she was given this... duty? Was that the correct word? Well, anyways, she knew that it was because the other two, Timberfall and Cavegrowl, spoke out against her. Of course, it was mouse-brained to do that, and someone needed to be on the patrol who knew what was going on with the foxes. If need be, she could get back to camp in time to warn the others if things went royally wrong, which she expected them to. She glanced at her disintegrating leader, waiting for the elderly she cats orders, still not saying a word as she led the patrol towards where the patrol spotted the den.
