Fawnstar »
training patrol with lilacshade - asrise & hatchpaw - asrise wants to get to know daisypaw better
Fawnstar still couldn’t believe it. Six moons had flown by in the blink of an eye; it seemed as if just the day before she had woken with odd enough pangs along her abdomen that made her seek out the council of her sister and medicine cat, Amberdapple. She recalled how her sister had explained to her that her symptoms were that of being an expecting mother, and Fawnstar had swallowed down both nerves and excitement at the prospect of baring her Clan a litter of kits. How had that been over six moons ago? How had it been six moons since she had kitted, bringing three bundles of fur she loved more than anything into the world? Fawnstar knew time went quickly, but she had never realized just how quickly time flew until she had become a mother.
She had chosen three of her finest warriors to mentor her kits, wanting only the best for her brood and their individual skills. It had been a long and thoughtful process, the tortoiseshell molly laying awake in her nest for hours upon hours mulling over who would best suit her kits and their needs. In the end she had decided to go with Rindlestripe, Cloverfur, and Golddusk, pleased with the decision she had made for her kits’ mentors. When she had first made the decision she had wondered if she would begin to doubt herself and her choices during the ceremony, but announcing her kits’ mentors to the entire Clan had left her with no doubts. Her daughters and son were in good paws. Fawnstar could rest easy knowing her kits would be shaped into incredible PlumClan warriors.
For as much as she couldn’t believe her kits were already out of the nursery and beginning their warrior training, Fawnstar knew she couldn’t stand around in camp and worry over her kits’ first lessons. As leader she needed to step up and make sure her Clan was running smoothly and well - something she had been neglecting for the last few moons due to her sudden bout of blood loss, infection, and overall being a nursing queen. She had left the Clan in Duskfeather’s paws for too long - not to say that he couldn’t handle it, Fawnstar knew her deputy was an honorable and loyal warrior, capable of leadership lest she would have not named him her deputy, but it was not his duty to lead the Clan entirely just yet. She had a few more lives to go through before it was Duskfeather’s time to become Duskstar.
Taking on her duties as Clan leader once more, Fawnstar decided she would assess how the training of some of the Clan’s older apprentices were going; she had considered sitting in on Daisypaw’s training session for the day, but for as much as she wanted to get to know the young molly better, she realized another apprentice needed a bit more of a push, a bit more support from mentor and Clan leader alike. Even if she had been in the nursery with her kits the last few seasons, she was fully aware of Lilacshade’s recent dog injury. The warrior was healed now and back to training Hatchpaw, but Hatchpaw had missed a few sessions here and there. Fawnstar wanted to make sure the young tom was still on track to becoming a warrior. She didn’t want to discourage Hatchpaw by keeping him an apprentice longer than necessary.
As the training commenced, Fawnstar was quick to realize that Hatchpaw wasn’t as far behind as she had feared - if anything, the tom was well on his way to becoming a warrior as expected. He was quick to act and eager to prove his worth, and even if part of that was due to him wanting to impress the Clan leader, Hatchpaw was still showing promise. If he was giving it his all now, he would surely give it his all out in the middle of battle where it truly mattered.
Panting as she took a step back from the session, Fawnstar smiled proudly toward Hatchpaw. ”You have the enthusiasm of a true warrior!” The leader praised. Her worries subdued, she realized now that Hatchpaw would make for a fine warrior when his time soon came.

The last four Clan gathering had gone over well. Greenleaf was in full force, bringing with it the heat that the season was known for, yet prey was plentiful and all four Clans seemed to be content within their own borders. Kits had been born, apprentices named, warriors congratulated. A peaceful gathering, overall. Yet there had been two things Fawnstar had noticed as she sat among her fellow leaders, two things that she couldn’t quite shake from her mind.
Bubblingstar looked old. He was the oldest of the Clan leaders, and he had been an aged warrior for some time now, but he looked older than Fawnstar had ever imagined him to appear. Gaunt and ancient, the poor orange and white tom looked no more than a fragment of his old self. He had still carried a sense of pride about him as any leader would when representing their Clan, but his movements had appeared stiff, his words slow. Fawnstar wondered if perhaps his time was soon coming, whether that be him joining StarClan or stepping down from leadership to allow his deputy Dappleswipe to become the next YewClan leader. She also wondered if the death of Bubblingstar’s young kit had expedited his aging; as a parent herself, Fawnstar couldn’t bear to imagine the loss of one of her kits. She didn’t blame Bubblingstar one bit if he decided to pass on his leadership in the coming moon or two.
The second event she had noticed was a more joyful one, something she could joke and make merry over. And that’s exactly what she did as soon as she noticed the cat she was thinking of nearby.
With a purr the leader closed the gap between her and Duststep. She eyed the young warrior with amusement, recalling how, not that long ago, she had been an inquisitive kit in the nursery, wide-eyed and bursting with energy. Now she was a sharp-minded warrior, and not only that, but a warrior old enough to start seeking out a potential mate. How was it that time flew by so fast?
Fawnstar’s purring grew louder as she teasingly mewed, ”I saw you sneaking glances toward that FlowerClan cat at the gathering. They were quite pretty, weren’t they?” The leader continued to tease, joy in her eyes. Cross-Clan relationships weren’t exactly favored, but PlumClan typically saw no reason to dissuade a cat from pursuing such a relationship if nothing bad seemed to be coming from it. Outsiders were welcomed into the Clan all the time, and it was good to be friendly with cats in other Clans. New blood was always welcomed as well. And Fawnstar was the last cat to grow angry over one of her warriors looking beyond the border for a mate. Her mind briefly imagined the soft gray of Mysh’s pelt, how his amber eyes lit up whenever he spoke of his own lifestyle. A slow sigh escaped the leader. Perhaps one day she’d take their kits to meet him.

Hatchpaw “Really?” Hatchpaw mewed, his ears shrinking back shyly as he drank in Fawnstar’s praise. He looked to Lilacshade for reassurance, who smiled back. “Yes, you’ve done very well.” She purred. “I like this new enthusiasm… I think you’ll do well on your assessment." Hatchpaw gulped. My assessment! It is coming soon, isn't it? I better keep training… He couldn’t imagine the embarrassment of being left behind for a moon while his littermates became warriors. He may be a quiet and unassuming presence, but he certainly didn’t want to be left behind! “Maybe it’s because I learned so much today… Could you train me like this again?” Hatchpaw asked Fawnstar with a wide eyed expression. Lilacshade shifted uncomfortably, looking down as if she wanted him to spare her a look. Tagging: Feathertalon (As Fawnstar)

fogshard patrol - Amberdapple
★ The heat made it hard to think, but that was alright with Fogshard. He couldn't believe how quickly green-leaf had set in, what with how new-leaf had felt more like an extension of leaf-bare. At least his light grey fur didn't soak the sun.
He padded behind Amberdapple, keeping his eye out for lungwort. It was one of the few plants he thought he could identify without the healer's help, with its distinctive mottled leaves and pale flowers.
Focusing on the task in silence, he didn't expect to hear Amberdapple's voice. "Fine. I'm fine," he replied, rather sharply. Amberdapple wasn't the first cat to ask, though at least she only brought it up when they were alone. Still, it made Fogshard's stomach twist. Did he look that bad? He was fine.
His tail flicked. "I'll go around the house, check by the gardens and the roadside," he said, wanting to get away from Amberdapple before she could ask any more questions that he didn't want to answer. "Don't wait up for me. I'll hunt on the way back."
Fogshard might have taken off in a sprint, except the heat made his limbs too heavy to expend that much energy, and so his top speed was more of a lurching trot. Still, it didn't take long to put a trellis of grapes between him and Amberdapple and despite the cloying heat, he felt he could breathe easier once he was alone.
His eyes pulled towards the creek, but he caught himself before they reached it. Fogshard focused instead on the twoleg gardens. It would take all his attention to sneak inside the fence without being spotted by twolegs or chased off by the dogs.
It was good to have something to focus on. He chained one danger into the next: the twoleg garden, the ditches beside the road (that were technically off of PlumClan's territory because it was too dangerous to patrol), the edges of the corn field where the Barn cats often hunted. He didn't find any lungwort, but he did find two mice. One for his own rumbling stomach, and one that swung from his jaws as he slogged home.
It was good to be tired. His paws ached, stinging a bit from where the hot gravel abraded the pale flesh, but that pain was easy to ignore when the heat sapped the energy out through the tips of his fur. A haze settled over his eyes. He couldn't tell if it was heat mirage or if his eyes were slipping closed. He didn't really care.
Fogshard pulled himself back to PlumClan's camp, dropped the mouse off in the fresh-kill pile, and collapsed into his nest. He was asleep instantly and for the first time in many nights, no dreams disturbed him.

" Do you know know why I stopped you from catching that rabbit, Hawkpaw?” duskfeather said to him. At first he was annoyed at losing prey but got over it and thought- Well it smelled kinda weird? And it seemed to be limping. Then it clicked in his brain. "The rabbit was sick wasn`t it?" He asked duskfeather. Tagging- chocolatemilk7 (Duskfeather)

WILLOWMOUSE - Sunning with Daisypaw! The sun like any other of nature's forces; was to be respected. Willowmouse sniffed, head tilted to carefully peer up at the sun's position in the sky. A little past sun-high, still too hot to do anything truly productive. No matter, there were plenty of good spots to wait for the air to cool. With a flick of her tail, she beckoned Daisypaw to follow her, setting a steady pace for a small clearing nearby. Not only would it be perfect to take a break in, but the growing shadows as the sun moved across the sky would keep the time for them. Her apprentice could use the break as well. Daisypaw was trying, Willowmouse could see that, but the young molly insisted on working herself to the bone. Most mentors might approve of the dedication, but Willowmouse could never stand those types. Life as a warrior was hard enough, why shouldn't survival be their reward? Starclan took them all in the end, equally despite circumstance. The pair came upon the clearing, a warm patch of sand padded into a small dip after seasons of warriors doing just the same- flopping onto their side to soak up the sun. Willowmouse exhaled in a great huff, nodding to Daisypaw to who still stood, " come on, rest."

Forestpaw .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Is made an apprentice! Golddusk is her mentor. * Out Training with GoldDusk * Saw a twoleg kit * Saw Hawkpaw, but didn't get a chance to say hello Still beaming from her recent apprentice ceremony, Forestpaw grinned at Golddusk as he began explaining the battle tactics of weaving and teamwork. She was so excited to be an apprentice, out of camp and with Golddusk! She hadn't interacted with him much before, but she had heard the other apprentices gossiping up a storm about him last moon. Stories of rogues and all! Tilting her head, Forestpaw watched him speak, and her whiskers twitched as she noticed his hazel eyes. They complimented his cream colored pelt well.
Focus! Forestpaw thought to herself. You're an apprentice now, not a kit! Fawnstar gave you Golddusk as a mentor to learn not oogle, you stupid furball. Forestpaw scrunched her nose with internal laughter and focused in. Golddusk was getting ready to demonstrate his tactics, and she didn't want to miss a second of it.
Despite her efforts, Forestpaw's attention was yet again drawn away as she heard a crash not too far off. Peering through the plum trees, she squinted and searched for the source of the noise. "Sorry to interrupt you lesson Golddusk, but did you hear that?" She squinted, straining to see any movement beyond their immediate area. Was she crazy?
With a sudden twig snap and a few loud thuds, Forestpaw opened her mouth to take in the scents around her. That is what a warrior would do in this situation, she thought. Breathing in, she could pick up the distant scents of her mother, Lilacshade, and Hatchpaw. She breathed again, this time picking up Duskfeather, Duststep, and Hawkpaw. It seemed everyone was out training in the orchard today, and that would certainly explain all of the noises. Giving one last worried glance around, Forestpaw finally relaxed when she spotted Hawkpaw off in the distance. It was nice to see a familiar face so close by. Perhaps Golddusk would let them train together? Forestpaw opened her mouth to ask when she was suddenly cut off by a shrill squeal.
In a panic, Forestpaw fell flat against the ground, ears pinned back in terror. What was that?! The apprentice's eyes grew wide as she took in the shape of the creature that had made the noise, its small body hideously pale, half naked, and covered in unnaturally colored pelts that made Forestpaw's head swirl. Forestpaw wasn't sure what it was, but it had started pulling itself up a Plum tree and making awful noises as it hoisted itself clumsily from branch to branch. The small she-cat began to panic, and looked to Golddusk for guidance. Were they to run away, attack, or ignore the beast and continue training?

Daisypaw
Has a hard time keeping up with training Sunning with Willowmouse! Daisypaw had yet to experience the peak of greenleaf’s heat. Having spent her days in the drafty nursery, as a kitten she never had to worry about being too warm. And if she was exhausted after a day of play, she could always rest in the shade of Rindlestripe's droopy tail.
Things were different as an apprentice. All those luxuries had been stripped away from her the moment she became a -paw. Shinepaw’s death had been a vivid reminder on the dangers of clan life. His life was taken so soon, and Daisypaw wanted to know all about the world. Or at least what laid inside PlumClan’s borders. But between hunting, fighting, and patrolling, everything was starting to meld together. It was becoming overwhelming. But she wasn't ready to admit this in front of Willowmouse. She trained Fawnstar! Daisypaw needed all the endurance possible to exceed her expectations.
As she trotted behind her mentor, Daisypaw had her paws ready for a long journey in spite of the sun absorbing her energy. “Where are we going today? The orchard? The Ruined Wall? What about seeing those odd barn creatures again?” Her flurry of questions was cut short when Willowmouse plopped into a shallow dip.
“Come on, rest.”
“Rest? But- Willow- what?” Daisypaw stammered. Willowmouse, the stern mentor, advising her to rest? That sounded like an order. And how could Daisypaw object to that? The apprentice’s tail drooped, almost as though she was scolded. She let her paws sink into the sand, and each step became heavier. Daisypaw mimicked her mentor's sharp exhale as she stretched and curled up, keeping one dual-colored eye open. She was almost certain Willowmouse would make training twice as hard after their break. tags: jaybun! ooc: (No Rindlestripe for this moon but I'll for sure get something up for them next moon! Another apprentice to be Rindlestripe's honorary child hooray!)

Duskfeather- Hunting with Hawkpaw and Duststep "The rabbit was sick wasn`t it?" Hawkpaw asked Duskfeather. “Yes, it was” he replied in a disappointed tone. But not disappointed in his apprentice. He was disappointed in himself. How could he forget to teach Hawkpaw about such a simple mistake, yet such a deadly one? Moreover, a mistake Duskfeather made himself when he was younger. The deputy thought back to those times. He was on a solo hunting patrol as a young warrior. It was a harsh leaf bare, with little prey to go around PlumClan. He has out hunting in the snow, when he saw a rabbit. It didn’t smell or look sick, the only strange thing about it was that it was that it hadn’t died or been hunted yet. He could have swore it was healthy, yet… it got someone sick the next day. Someone very close to Duskfeather, his sister. ”But it isn’t your fault. I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to teach you about signs of sickness in prey. If anything, it was my fault for overlooking it up until now.” Duskfeather sighed, but continued talking. “Sick prey has a very specific smell, a bit like crow food. You will also see that the animal will act a bit dizzier or more unaware of it’s surrounding. If you you don’t see these signs and catch it anyway, a cat might eat the poisoned prey and get sick, maybe even die. I… made the same mistake as you when I was a young warrior. Except, no one stopped me, and because of my ignorance, my sister got really sick…”. Tagging Hawkheart MistyPath

Hatchpaw
Hatchpaw crouched in a corner of the camp by himself. He was nearly a warrior now, but was he ready to be one? He wasn’t as smart as Daisypaw, or as fearless as Hawkpaw… What was he?
Lilacshade padded towards him, drawing herself up high. “Hatchpaw, what are you doing here? I told you we’d be going on patrol at dawn today.” She meowed shortly. “Come on, I know that look. Stop moping.” “I’m not moping.” Hatchpaw huffed, annoyed that she had interrupted his introspection. Why was Lilacshade digging into him this morning? “You are. I recognize it so well because I do it too.” Lilacshade broke into a purr. “But don’t worry, you’re doing well. I am proud of you… but I will not be if you skip out on training today. Come to the camp entrance, Cloverfur and Havenpaw are waiting.” Hatchpaw brightened up. Havenpaw had been a friend of his ever since he had saved him from a hawk as a kit. He remembered how worried he was that the young tom would not make it after his injuries, but now he was an apprentice too! Hatchpaw was very happy to be on patrol with him, he never felt he had enough time with Havenpaw. The four left for patrol, avoiding the orchard where the Twolegs were clambering over trees, clipping the branches with sharp snapping noises. They made their way along the border, until Havenpaw stopped at a redcurrant bush. “Hey, what are you doing, Havenpaw?” Hatchpaw asked. Tagging: Dew (As Cloverfur) moonKT60633 (As Havenpaw)

Forestpaw .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Doesn't think she's been performing to her mentor's standards lately * Complains Rindlestripe isn't helping Auburnpaw * Flowerclan patrol encounter Forestpaw silently padded behind Golddusk and Fogshard, lost in thought as they checked the Ruined Wall. She was happy to be on patrol with two of her favorite clan-mates, but echoes of past conversations in the apprentices den swirled in her mind. She had learned a lot this past moon from Golddusk, but there were a few apprentices who felt that their mentors weren't all too helpful. The feelings of resent had hung over Forespaw like a dark cloud, and she couldn't shake them. She had come to question everything that was given as instruction to all of the apprentices. Were any of them being taught properly? Did mentors actually care about their apprentices, or was it all just for show? Did Golddusk care how she did? Did he put his heart into teaching her? The young she-cat glanced at the cream tom in front of her, questioning his motives internally. Then her emerald eyes fell on Fogshard. Had he loved his apprentices? Surely he had. Everyone in Plumclan knew these past few moons had been hard for him.
Forestpaw looked to the ground, her pelt hot with guilt. She shouldn't be feeling this way. Of course Golddusk cared about her, and of course Fogshard had cared about his apprentices! She felt ashamed to have even thought about any other possibility, and she knew her thoughts were not thoughts that any apprentice should be having. Golddusk would not approve. But yet... she still felt as though there may be merit to the other apprentices' complaints.
The auburn specked she-cat opened her mouth, looking back to her mentor with unease. "Hey Golddusk, can I tell you something? It's kind of... Well I feel wrong for brining it up on patrol, but it's really bothering me. I feel like Rindlestripe maybe hasn't been the most helpful to Auburnpaw lately, and I don't think Auburnpaw has spoken to anyone about how she's feeling. I promise I'm not trying to be a bad and whiney apprentice, but I think somebody should maybe check in on my sister and her mentor's relationship?" The she-cat gave a small smile and awkwardly averted her gaze. Before Golddusk could respond, however, a Flowerclan cat jumped up on the Ruined Wall a few fox-lengths ahead of the Plumclan patrol.

Golddusk-Is worried others are judging him, Flowerclan patrol encounter Golddusk is lost in thought while he was out on patrol with Fogshard and Forestpaw. Lately, he had noticed that a few other cats were whispering to each other while sometimes glancing in his general direction. He wondered what it was they were whispering about. Surely they were not whispering about him? He worries that they were judging him and his ability to train Forestpaw. He knew that he had an history of getting distracted as an apprentice because of his strange dreams. He still does gets strange dreams as a warrior and of course he does tend to gets distracted by that from time to time, sometimes spacing out in the process. By now; however, he at least was able to set his thoughts about his dreams aside for a moment and focus on whatever tasks he needed to complete. Of course he couldn’t had become a successful warrior if he keeps getting distracted all the time! He wanted to be as good of a mentor to Forestpaw as Cloverfur was to him. Surely his clanmates could see how much effort he had been putting into training Forestpaw? He is proud of how well Forestpaw had been doing in her training so far. The young she-cat had been learning much more quickly than he was expecting. He can only hope that his apprentice can continue to succeed under his mentorship. He then heard his apprentice’s voice, which snapped him out of his worries for a moment. He turned his head to look at her as Forestpaw voices her concerns about her sister and her mentor’s relationship. Golddusk hadn’t heard anything about Rindlestripe and Auburnpaw having a difficult time communicating with each other. Before Golddusk can tell Forestpaw anything, he heard a noise ahead of them. He turned his attention to what’s in front of them and saw that ahead of them on top of the Ruined wall was an Flowerclan cat. He stopped in his tracks, staring at the strange cat and looking for any signs of hostility. Although both patrols are on their sides of the border respectively, Golddusk knew that it was not unheard of for there to be border skirmishes between patrols from two different clans. He felt nervous since he couldn’t tell whether this patrol is hostile or not, at least not at this distance. He also felt worried about the safety of his apprentice. She had been training for only a moon after all, is she prepared for a fight should things go sour between both the Plumclan and Flowerclan patrols? tigersdoroar Brownie

Duskfeather- Hunting with Hawkpaw and Duststep (LAST MOON) ”Is she…… dead?” The apprentice asked Duskfeather. Sadly, the short answer to that question was yes, but in reality, in was slightly more complicated. The deputy decided to share the end of his sad story with Hawkpaw anyway. “She caught green cough soon after getting poisoned… She.. didn’t make it after that. Everyone told me it wasn’t my fault, but I knew she was weakened already and might have survived if I wasn’t such a mouse brain…”. Sometimes, Maplestorm, his sister, still appears in his dreams. But that rarely happens, and Duskfeather tries to not think about her too much. Reopening old wounds hurts. “I never forgave myself for that. She was the last remaining family member I had. My friends supported me and helped me get through it. Ever since then, I dedicated my life to the clan, making sure everyone lived their best life here.” Duskfeather sighed again as he looked out into the distance. He quickly returned to his sense. What was he doing? He was burdening a poor apprentice with his life story. Hawkpaw didn’t deserve to deal with his emotional baggage. They should just get back to hunting. “What’s important is that you have learned to identify poisoned prey. Now, I hope this won’t happen again.”

Havenpaw
Wonders how Leopardcry is doing
As the patrol walks, Havenpaw stays a little behind the group, practicing his scent tracking when his paw lands on something squishy. While Havenpaw would love to say he kept cool- he nearly flew 3 feet in the air. The odd texture on his pads catching him off guard Calming down he glances at his paw- red? The apprentice sniffs- its not metallic and doesn't smell like deathberries. Carefully Havenpaw gives it a lick.
Havenpaw brightened at Hatchpaws mew behind him. He thinks it's so awesome that the older apprentice, one that he looked up to as a kit (and now), is his friend. He keeps his face neutral however- he doesn't want to act like a kit around him. “These are sweet” he motioned to the strange bush with wide eyes “herbs maybe? The medcats would be happy if we brought some back” He pinched a branch off, humming as some juice got into his mouth. He’s been slightly worried about the med den with the blight that happened- and Leopordcry. He knows that his mama didn't really have a good time kitting so he wants to make sure the queen is comfortable. Happy with his haul- he turns back to Hatchpaw.
OOC: hatchpaw's dialouge is kinda in the middle, i didnt want to just fully copy and paste. Hope this is okay! Havenpaw my sweet sweet boy my son my baby

Hatchpaw Hatchpaw wasn’t sure that the red berries were herbs… they seemed a little too sweet for that. He’d never seen Quickshade keep something like that in her den, but he too nipped off a clump of berries, wanting to help Havenpaw. He nibbled at one of the berries. They tasted quite tart and had a firm skin to them. Not bad! Before he knew it, sticky red berry juice stained his lips. When Havenpaw looked at him, he purred a laugh and hastily licked his lips. He didn’t want to look like a kit in front of him, after all. “Mmm… So do you know what these are for, anyway?” Hatchpaw asked. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen them before...” Tagging: Dew (As Cloverfur) moonKT60633 (As Havenpaw)

Havenpaw
Wonders how Leopardcry is doing
Havenpaw cocked his head to the side “Well- no” he winces, voice slightly muffled from the branch in his mouth “But I don't know a ton of herbs” He’d like to, but was more focused on his warrior training then anything. Plus he'd also never seen the red berry before. He doesnt even know the name! Havenpaw shrinks a little before glancing over at Hatchpaw and straightening up. “Amberdapple or Quickshade would know better” He puffs with a confidence unlike him "We can ask when we get back"
Turning to Hatchpaw he huffs a laugh “We look like we’ve been hunting” He mews quitely- lifting a paw to show off the red staining
OOC: sorry its short!

Fawnstar »
A flash of marbled brown grabbed Fawnstar’s attention. She froze, not daring to put down her front paw she had pushed toward her chest. Blue eyes narrowed, calculating her next move. The lizard had yet to detect the presence of a predator, but even a skilled hunter such as Fawnstar could easily make one wrong move and ruin this catch. Lizards were quick. She’d just have to be quicker.
The leader eased her front paw down slowly onto the ground, careful to not make a single noise. From there she lowered herself into a crouch, mentally going over the length she’d have to jump. It wasn’t a far leap. Manageable. Fawnstar unsheathed her claws. She had been hunting these woods for seasons - this shouldn’t give her any problems.
She gave herself a second to shift her weight. A second later and she pushed off from the ground, leaping straight for the lizard, sure she was going to grab the creature in her claws and make a quick, clean kill…
But she had forgotten the warrior she had with her on this hunting patrol.
Crack!
Sudden pain crackled down from Fawnstar’s head to her tail-tip. She fumbled in her pounce, falling onto the ground with a rush of air escaping her lungs. She lay there, momentarily stunned, going over every single scenario that could have happened. The lizard had no way of doing this to her, and she only felt pain in her head. Did something fall on her? Did something hit her?
Fawnstar’s vision slowly cleared, no longer static. A familiar gray pelt was on the ground in front of her, moving about and trying to get back onto her paws. ”Duststep?” Tbe leader called, gritting her teeth as she pushed herself to her paws. Wobbly at first she had to take a second to steady herself. The pain continued to thud against her cranium but was already dulling. She’d survive. She had managed to push through worse pains. ”Are you alright?” The tortoiseshell took a step closer, blue eyes wide with concern as she looked down at her fellow Clanmate.

fogshard patrol - Forestpaw, Golddusk
★ Fogshard kept a bit ahead of Golddusk and Forestpaw, leading the border patrol. He wanted to make space for the younger warrior to mentor his apprentice without Fogshard looming or listening in. That wasn't why the pale tabby was assigned to this patrol: Fogshard was there to keep the other two safe while Forestpaw learned the border and how to properly assess danger.
Not that they were expecting danger. The FlowerClan border was steady along the Stone Wall, it always has been and Fogshard felt it always would be. The natural demarcation between territories was simply too convenient to break for something as little as prey-stealing. Besides, it would be easy for PlumClan to track any FlowerClan prey thieves down on the open plains--unlike those BurdockClan fox-hearts that used the shallow creek to mask their scent trail, making it impossible to catch them once they've escaped over the border.
Thinking about BurdockClan always put Fogshard in a grumpy mood and so he startled rather spectacularly when a FlowerClan cat hopped up onto the Stone Wall only a few tail-lengths beside him. Luckily he didn't make an embarrassing sound, but he did leap into the air, hackles raised, landing in an instinctive arch to make himself larger.
He stared at the FlowerClan cat, who looked to be similarly startled to find a PlumClan patrol so close. Fogshard tried to quell his racing heart, settle his bottlebrush-puffed tail, but before he could fully recover, the FlowerClan cat was gone, leaping back over the wall to their own side of the territory.
Fogshard quickly crossed the gap between him and Golddusk, reuniting with the rest of his patrolmates on the off chance the FlowerClan patrol decided to start something, cursing his laxness. They were still on a border patrol after all.
"You alright?" he asked Golddusk as he trotted up to the pair. He looked them over closely, then, deeming them unharmed, eyed the Wall, watching for movement. "I should check the other side, make sure there isn't a battle patrol waiting for us. It should be fine, but be ready to run back to camp, alright? We don't have the numbers for a fight."
And Fogshard wasn't going to risk another apprentice's life, not for a border skirmish they had no reason to stand and receive. If FlowerClan really chose to invade, they could quickly reach this point in the border with reinforcements to drive them back off. "Wait here," he said, before turning and creeping towards the Wall.
The Stone Wall was unusually well-preserved along this stretch: tall, proud and shaded by a pair of walnut trees. Fogshard took his time finding a path up that wouldn't require him to leap, exposing himself like the FlowerClan cat had. Instead, he located a stone that jutted from the rest of the formation just enough to give him a pawhold, and used that to climb--carefully--and peek over the top to FlowerClan's field.
He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the FlowerClan patrol, also only two cats and an apprentice strong, already padding along the border the other way. Not a threat, just poor timing.
Fogshard hopped down, his body language relaxed, holding his tail high as he padded back to Golddusk and Forestpaw. "It's alright, they're already gone. Just another border patrol."

Ghost stories with duskfeather willowmouse and daisypaw.Hawkpaw was sitting in a part of the forest with his mentor and willowmouse and daisypaw in a circle and trading good ghost stories. Hawkpaw started one by saying- " A long time ago when the clans we`re still being made they`re where rumors of tigerclan cats walking in the darkness and stealing kits from the clans dens at night. One of these nights a kit was playing outside and walked a little to far from the camp and in the shadows the kit saw a huge evil cat with tiger stripes and a large scar going across his face. The kit tryed to run but the cat cought them and with one bite eat the kit hole!" Hawkpaw smiled when he saw daisypaws eyes whiden. " Do you have a ghost story daisypaw?" He asked her. WILLOWMOUSE - Ghost stories with Daisypaw, Hawkpaw, & Duskfeather! (picked up a rainbow cord) Was wearing a collar, even one self-made, too treacherously close to becoming a kittypet? Willowmouse frowned down at the rainbow-colored cord that now hung around her neck, the messily tied ends brushing her forelegs with each step. She wasn't one for vanity, but it was so pretty... and she didn't want any kits stealing it from her nest while she was busy. And it did look rather good against the brown of her fur- didn't it? Whatever. It wasn't a collar. It was a piece of string! If any of her clanmates had a problem with that, well, they were just jealous of her luck. Willowmouse let herself have one last huff, before turning her attention back to the patrol. Duskfeather kept astride with her at the front, seemingly distracted. Daisypaw and Hawkpaw followed a few tail-lengths behind, caught up in a conversation. Good! Maybe it would take her apprentice's mind off of Fawnstar's punishment. Willowmouse didn't know exactly what had prompted the extra chores, but she trusted in Fawnstar's judgement. Perhaps it would be good for Daisypaw's development to be under their leader's watchful eye.

Golddusk-Border patrol with Fogshard and Forestpaw Golddusk watched as Fogshard approached him and heard him ask him a question. “Yes, I’m okay.” Golddusk answered Fogshard. He then cast a wary glance at the spot where the Flowerclan cat was just at. He then listened to Fogshard as he explained how he’s going to check to see if this is a battle patrol and how Golddusk and Forestpaw should be ready to head back to camp. Golddusk nodded his head in agreement. It was a reasonable plan, especially since their patrol is only meant for a border patrol, not for battle. Plus, he didn’t want to risk both his and his apprentice’s safety in a battle, not with only three cats in this patrol. He watched Fogshard as he headed over to the Stone Wall, hoping that what is on the other side of that wall isn’t a threat. He soon relaxed once he saw Fogshard coming back with his tail high and not looking alarmed. Golddusk felt relieved to hear that the Flowerclan patrol is just another border patrol and not a threat. For now, there will be no battle and Golddusk is glad that no one will have to fight today. Brownie tigersdoroar

Duskfeather- Training with Hawkpaw, Willowmouse and Daisypaw A moon had passed since Duskfeather told Hawkpaw about his sister’s death. Remembering everything that had happened was… not fun… to say the least. He felt like he shouldn’t have told his apprentice about it. It was selfish to burden him with the story. Still, it didn’t seem like Hawkpaw blamed him for it, so training will go on as usual. Speaking of which, Rindlestripe’s kits were almost warriors now. Duskfeather was surprised how quickly time had passed. Just yesterday he felt like he taught Hawkpaw his first lesson, and now, they were nearing his last. Duskfeather and Willowmouse were leading, with their apprentices a little behind them, talking to each other about ghost stories. Duskfeather chuckled to himself as they arrived at the training hollow. Alright then. If they want ghost stories, I’ll give them one to remember for ages. “If you two are gonna keep chatting into the training session, then allow me to tell you a story to chat about.” He sat down and began to remember the tale he heard as a kit from the elders. “A long time ago, when the clan’s were still being organized, a single kit was born in the middle of leaf bare. At first glance, he appeared to be like every other kit. But as he grew up, the warrior made ambitions for himself. He wanted to rule the clans with an iron paw, sever their connection with StarClan and kill any cats who opposed him. He tried to enact his plan, but he failed, and as he fought to the death, he had to be killed. His original name was lost to time, but the name he gave himself once he entered the Dark Forest was Bloodmoon. Just like every other evil cat that roamed The Place Of No Stars, he wished to return to our world. But Bloodmoon was cunning and clever, enough to outsmart even StarClan themselves. He found the single passage way in the entire Dark Forest that lead to our plane of existence. Once he exited, he felt an unquenchable thirst for cat blood. Many cats lost their lives to him, as he roamed the territories, and with every life he claimed, he only became stronger. Being a spirit, he left no scent or way for anyone to track him. The problem got so out of paw that the four clans worked together to form an elite team of the strongest warrior at the time. Together, they searched everywhere for Bloodmoon, until they found him and banished his ghost back to the Dark Forest. The passage to our plane was sealed, but not completely. Every 200 moons, when the moon shines red, the magic that seals the passage way weakens, and Bloodmoon enters our world once again, for one night, to claim as many lives as he can, before having to return to his place of residence.”. Duskfeather smiled contently as he finished the story. He knew it wasn’t real, he just wanted to have a bit of fun. “Now, with that out of the way, how about we get back to our training?” Tagging Hawkheart jaybun! lazzylake

Havenpaw
Gets separated from his patrolmates
Leaves crunch under his paws, dried from the intense heat. Havenpaw stalks forward- nose and eyes sweeping around the perimeter, on the lookout for any signs. Its quiet…..too quiet. Havenpaw stiffens- glancing behind him to realize he has been walking alone.
He hadn't realized just for far he’d gone ahead of his mentor- the thought has a prickle sweeping over his spine. Havenpaw has never seen a badger before but the warnings and stories of his clanmates ring in his ears. He flexes his claws, never having been more grateful for Cloverfurs mentorship- he is confident he could hold on long enough to escape. Not beat a badger! He's not that confident but certainly his claws were sharp enough to at least disorient the beast. They can't be that big anyways- he’d heard from the other apprentices that they were bigger than twolegs- that had to be a lie. He shakes his head and hurries back the way he came- quickly scenting the air to locate Cloverfur. Mouse-brain! He thinks, quickly making his way through the underbrush. He's working himself up again.
His tail flicks in relief as he slides back up with his mentor. Lightly hoping to Starclan Cloverfur hadn't noticed his disappearance. OOC: ssilly lil guy hes DARN lucky (light hc that his new trait is bc of his mentorr)

Hawkpaw becoming Hawkheart!" I do." Hawkpaw had said to fawnstar and his new name was echoed around the camp loudly. Im finely a warrior! He thought happyly and then the burrden of having a new title and new jobs weighed heavy on him and made him sigh. But a second later he say his former mentor looking at him proudly and strength flowed back into his body. He walked over to Duskfeather and said- " Thank you. Thank you for everything you have tought me. You have been the best mentor an apprentice could ask for and..." He paused not wanting to go on but he tryed to push through it- " You`re like...the father i never had." He said sadly. His voice cracked and he lowered his head then he flicked it back up again finding new strength. " You tought me to be kind, you tought me to be loving and good im going to make you proud as a warrior!" Then he look Duskfeather right in the eyes and said- " And im really sorry about your sister. I know you think you burrdened me but you didnt you made me stronger!" Fawnstar »
chased by dog with fogshard - Brownie
A dog was the last thing Fawnstar had expected when she had rounded up Fogshard for a quick border patrol near the twolegdens.
Breath ragged and muscles screaming as she practically flew across the flatland, Fawnstar let out an ear-splitting yowl, hoping and praying to StarClan that the dog would turn and run after her instead of Fogshard. The poor tom’s attempts at driving the canine off had only given the dog a burst of newfound energy, the white and brown spotted creature seeming to gain more energy rather than lose energy the more it ran.
Fawnstar gritted her teeth, claws unsheathing and shifting into the soil below, doing everything she could to accelerate her speed and run faster. She yowled again. Come on, mutt! Leave Fogshard alone! If something happened and the dog managed to catch one of them, Fawnstar prayed it would be her - she had more lives to sacrifice than Fogshard did.
Living so close to twolegs, dogs were rather common in PlumClan. What wasn’t common was a cat being attacked by one; cats were used to dogs in PlumClan and dogs were used to cats. Fawnstar wouldn’t say they lived in harmony, but they could co-exist, ignoring the presence of one another if there was ever a run in between canine and feline; however, run-ins such as the likes of this one happened on occasion. Typically these situations occurred when an inexperienced PlumClan cat tipped a dog off and caused its prey drive to kick in, or if a PlumClan patrol happened to cross paths with a young dog who had yet to learn the ropes of the area. In Fawnstar’s and Fogshard’s case, they just so happened to run into a new dog. The white and brown creature looked to be no more than four season cycles old, a spry thing with a zest for life. Fawnstar rushed toward a clump of overgrown weeds. Why couldn’t this dog have a zest of life somewhere else?
Quickly realizing that the dog was not going to give up its pursuit no matter what, Fawnstar knew she had to change tactics. Luckily a twoleg fence was nearby, a high enough sanctuary that the dog wouldn’t be able to reach the cats. ”Fogshard!” The leader called, voice frantic. ”Run to the fence!” With one last lunge and a forceful leap, Fawnstar’s paws hit the solidity of the fence, scrambling to gain balance. Once atop the structure she panted, drawing in air to desperately refill her burning lungs all the while anxiously awaiting Fogshard’s presence.

Cloverfur - Border patrol with Duskfeather and Havenpaw, Manages to lighten the mood with a good joke
Cloverfur had left camp with Duskfeather and Havenpaw a few moments ago, with their plan in mind. There had been some talk about badgers settling on clan territory lately, and their mission was to see if there was any evidence of a badger settling on Plumclan's territory. Cloverfur was nervous to bring along his apprentice, as they hadn't done that much on fighting badgers yet, but hopefully they wouldn't run into a badger. At most Havenpaw would scent one, and next training session Cloverfur could go over how to fight one.
Waving his tail to Duskfeather, Cloverfur and Havenpaw split from the patrol to go one way, while Dushfeather went the other. They weren't trying to fight it, just see if it was there. Hopefully out of the two groups, Cloverfur and Havenpaw would run into it, if it came down to that. "Havenpaw-" Wait, where was his apprentice?! The brown speckled apprentice had just been here a moment ago! Scenting the air, Cloverfur quickly caught Havenpaw's scent in the breeze, and then there his apprentice was, right by his side, like nothing had happened. "Where did you run off to, little rascal?" He joked, noticing how tense Havenpaw looked. "Doesn't matter, let's go. I hope that there isn't a badger on our territory, but if there is we have to be careful. At most I hope you get to scent it."
They were going again, their pawsteps careful and slow. Cloverfur stopped and scented every bush, until he found what he had been looking for. Badger scat. It was disgusting. At least clan cats buried their dirt! Badgers had no respect for other animals. "See that Havenpaw? That's Badger dirt. Take a smell. If you ever smell that scent on Plumclan territory, let another cat know, okay?"

Hatchpaw “Hawkheart! Daisytooth!” Hatchpaw’s voice called out, among the loudest as his littermates were made warriors, their heads held high to greet the cheers. But Hatchpaw’s yowls could not drown out the nagging feeling of failure in his mind. Of course I failed. How could I have thought that I was going to make it? Hawkheart and Daisytooth were always brighter and more outgoing than me, and they must have worked harder too… His eyes locked with Lilacshade’s for a moment, and she looked back with an expression of sympathy. But it looked more like shame. He heard Rindlestripe purr with pride at their littermates’ naming, wishing they could feel that proud of him, too. Hatchpaw looked at the grass, feeling as if all eyes were on him now that the ceremony was falling silent. He was embarrassed, above all else. Embarrassed that he couldn’t be up there, but also because he couldn’t help but feel sorry for himself on the best day of his littermates’ lives. But he was happy for them. Hatchpaw could barely look at Havenpaw, who had a surprised look on his face, as if he expected him to be up there with his brother and sister. I must have disappointed him too, he thought, plodding back to the apprentice den. It felt awfully empty without Daisytooth or Hawkheart, and at the same time, he felt oversized. As if it were unnatural for him to be here. He found himself feeling lightheaded and dizzy as he flopped into his nest, the heat pressing in around his coat. When he opened his eyes again, Quickshade was standing over him, pressing a wet ball of moss to his mouth. “Drink.” She ordered, so he did, still feeling disoriented. “Ughhh…” Hatchpaw groaned. “I feel awful…”“I’m sure you do.” Quickshade meowed slowly, as if to imply another meaning. “You have heat exhaustion. So, drink some more, and stay in the shade.” “For how long?” Hatchpaw asked. “As long as it takes.” The medicine cat answered. Oh, no… now I’m going to miss out on even more training! I’ll never be an apprentice! “Don’t you have a herb or something to cure me?” “I’m afraid not.” Quickshade answered. “Only water, shade and rest cures heat exhaustion. And don’t feel the need to rush off so quickly, you need to rest after… everything. And sometimes, rest is more useful than anything else… good warriors know that.” Hatchpaw smiled weakly, closing his eyes. I will have another chance. And I’ll be a good warrior for PlumClan, no matter how long it takes.
Tagging: No one today, but anyone may respond if they have some link with Hatchpaw this moon. (OOC: poor hatchpaw )

Forestpaw .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Training nap with Golddusk and Duststep * Wonders if she'll be allowed to go night-hunting soon! * Seeks Fawnstar out for advice
Forestpaw gave the battle move another go, a new variation on the weaving method Golddusk had taught her a few moons ago. Giving a quick pant, she flicked her ears back and sprang forward onto the plum tree, digging her claws in for just a moment and preparing to spring back off and avoid Duststep's attack. Or at least that was the plan. As the tortoiseshell she-cat's hind legs bunched beneath her on the tree, her front paws gave out and she landed with a thud on the grass below.
The she-cat blinked, her head swimming in an over-heated daze. Had one of the older cats just called off the training exercises for awhile? Yes, she had heard right. Forestpaw, relaxed, and let out a relieved sigh. It was certainly too hot for battle training. After all, her sister had already gotten heat stroke. And had Hatchpaw missed his warrior ceremony due to his heat exhaustion? Forestpaw hadn't been sure what exactly happened, but she didn't want to fall behind in her training due to a preventable illness.
"I think I'll lay right here! It's as good a spot as any!" Forestpaw winked at Golddusk and wriggled onto her back, letting all the heat of her belly escape into the day's slight breeze. This really was a good spot. Forestpaw would be okay with spending the rest of the day here. Panting, she flexed her claws, making paddling motions into the air and letting her thoughts swirl. Did warriors relax too? She turned her head slightly to catch Duststep lounging as well. They must, she thought with a curt nod to herself.
But what if I don't train hard enough and end up like Hatchpaw?! The thought popped into Forestpaw's mind like and unwelcome visitor. Would she be alright with more moons spent being an apprentice? She was dedicated to becoming the best warrior she could be, no matter the time it took, but she didn't want to change out bedding and crack other cat's ticks forever.
Is Auburnpaw's warrior ceremony going to be delayed too? The young she-cat's thoughts drifted to her sister and her brows knitted together with worry. Last moon Auburnpaw's questioning of Rindlestripe had caused Forestpaw to become insecure about her own training and Golddusk's abilities. These were feelings that had since subsided for Forestpaw, but Auburnpaw's restless nature had only seemed to grow worse. If Auburnpaw truly had a bad mentor, and now she was sick, was she ever going to be trained in the same capacity that Forestpaw was being trained? Forestpaw bit her lip and thought hard. What could she do to help?
Maybe we could do some river hunting? That would sharpen our thoughts and quicken our movements, Forestpaw thought, pondering other things she could do with her sister once she was well. The freshkill pile didn't need any more mid-day prey though, and adding fish to it in this hot sun would only cause them to rot. Forestpaw shook her head and thought harder. They would need a cool place to train, away from the sun. Forestpaw smiled as the perfect thought came to her. Night hunting! That would be cool and away from the heat, and it would provide cat's with cool fresh-kill right at dawn. Forestpaw wondered if this was something that Golddusk and Fawnstar would allow. Perhaps she should ask her leader?
