ooc;; i'm not too sure what storm & bubbling would have had a talk about TheKeenGlint ! i'm open to ideas :3 this is just a little thing to get back into the groove for now BUBBLINGSTAR - Sharing Prey Bubblingstar was rather proud of himself, if he was completely honest. Despite the long moons of recovery, he still had the prowess to bring in a fairly large amount of prey. In the approaching chill of winter no less! Pleased, he dropped his collected catch atop the fresh-kill pile, tail curling back and forth in a lazy swoop. The sun's fading rays cast the camp in cozy shadows, though that didn't stop some from stealing what warmth they could from the evening sky. Dappleswipe and Mudspeck sat together in a slowly shrinking sun spot not too far away from the pile. Bubblingstar scooped up the larger squirrel he'd caught, and meandered over to the two warriors. Nothing to celebrate a good day like sharing the spoils with others. |

After a rough day in the cold, nothing beat laying in the sun with your favorite cat to soak up the last of its rays together. Dappleswipe was quite fond of the tom warrior and could easily say he was her favorite in the clan. Though it was nothing more than platonic and if anything she saw the older warrior as a big brother. He was always there when she needed advice, or someone to talk to. Unfortunately today it was to vent about what had happened during the earlier hunting patrol as well as her doubts in herself about whether she was being a good mentor or not. After talking, the she-cat laid quietly beside Mudspeck, savoring the warmth of the sun before it plunged into the beyond. Tomorrow will be a better day...
Dappleswipe's ear twitched at the sound of approaching paw steps, lifting her head up from where it was resting on her paws. Oh, it was Bubblingstar! She shifted and tipped her head at the tom with her copper eyes glinting. "Hello there Bubblingstar!" Despite her rather dour feelings over the day's events, she tried to appear her cheery and warm self. She was glad to see their leader in high spirits at least, especially after he had spent so long recovering from his stubborn broken bone. |

Stempaw - On patrol with Dappleswipe and Spottedfur.
Stempaw had always admired the wide-spread territory of Yewclan. He'd been thinking he'd watch the border for hours at a time when he was in his old clan...
No.
No bad memories. He couldn't be thinking of the awful life back there. A skip across the border and the memories would flood back to him. Swell him with the old smell, swallow him with old sights. No. It was over. He'd even managed to convince them he'd been stolen rather than begged them to join. For a reason that he thought seemed fair.
Breaking into his thoughts, Spottedfur's request for the scent of prey made him jump slightly, making him splash into a muddy puddle. His pelt was now slightly speckled with mud. Great. Shaking it away at a safe distance from the rest of the patrol, he replied, "I can smell a sparrow." He remarked, and using his tail he pointed in the direction of the Flowerclan.
Perfect.
He took a deep breath. He knew he couldn't hide from his past forever, especially now that Yewclan had so 'kindly' taken him in. He would not Show weakness now. If he did, what kind of apprentice would he be? He simple couldn't shy away every time he met his past. Not now. Not ever.
Slipping away from the patrol, he dropped into a crouch. Previously in Yewclan, his mentor, (one of the only cats that weren't trying to traumatize and ruin his life) Rootleg, had taught him well. He'd been training for (?) moons, so he felt relatively prepared. Dropping into a hunter's crouch, he slowly stalked the creature, because by that point it was a miracle it hadn't flown away. Nimbly, he tread through the pathway, quietly brushing against stray twigs and leaves. He jumped. The scent of Flowerclan began to swarm him, and eyes bulging, he tried to push away from the kill, not capable of getting any closer without viewing the nasty, horrid memories in his mind. He came to a loud thud, scaring the small bird away. He blinked. "Mouse dung." He snarled, trying to act as though he'd had the fall by mistake.
I'll just be stronger later. He thought. Being strong can wait.

(Off topic bc warriors don’t know anything about astrology, but her birth sign is Taurus)
I understand that my cats will eventually die during the course of the game. I understand that while I may influence my character's actions and relationships, the game's random events will ultimately decide my cat's fate.
Update:lol I just read the clan roles and realized you already have a med cat, so I can be a warrior/app/etc. if needed

Spottedfur — patrol — with Dappleswipe & Stempaw
Even though that Dappleswipe’s answer was correct, she had pointed out the same odd scent that was covering up everything else. The scent of the prey was hardly noticeable now. “You’re right, Dappleswipe,” he mewed before he heard Stempaw’s reply.
It seemed that he had caught the young cat off guard. Although Stempaw hadn’t been with them long, Spottedfur felt that he wasn’t completely comfortable yet. “A sparrow? I don’t smell any sparrows,” the silver speckled warrior told Stempaw. “Something isn’t right.”
As soon as Stempaw made his move to go after the sparrow, the warriors quickly leapt in front of the apprentice. “Get back now,” he hissed as his grey gaze focused on an odd looking trap. The smell was… unknown to the senior warrior. He couldn’t exactly place it.
A few pieces of dead prey sat in the middle of the trap which had long strips of rope attached to a thick tree branch. If Stempaw had attacked the sparrow, he would have been caught easily by whoever set the trap.
He couldn’t tell if it was settled by FlowerClan or twolegs. Nevertheless, Spottedfur didn’t want to lose any of his patrol mates. “It’s a trap, Stempaw!” he announced loudly before moving a bit more forward carefully. Spottedfur padded gingerly and turned around to glance at Dappleswipe and Stempaw. “Move as fast as you can. We don’t need any of us to end up dead because of a trap,” the tom meowed.

After doing these moon summaries for a while, I've realized that healers require so much more activity than any other member of the Clan: not only are you responsible for replies for major health events, but also leading a patrol each moon which is a bigger responsibility than I expected. Cassie did really well with Icepath, but I think I'm going to limit it so only active members are able to claim healers moving forward. I just didn't expect it to be so much more involved than literally every other role in the game. Hey! Sorry, but no. After doing these moon summaries for a while, I've realized that healers require so much more activity than any other member of the Clan: not only are you responsible for replies for major health events, but also leading a patrol each moon which is a bigger responsibility than I expected. Cassie did really well with Icepath, but I think I'm going to limit it so only active members are able to claim healers moving forward. I just didn't expect it to be so much more involved than literally every other role in the game. I can put you on the waitlist for when another cat becomes available; we're doing activity check ins and there might be openings by monday. There's also every chance that we'll pick up a loner this moon, or a cat will announce they're expecting kits! ]] Oh okay cool haha sorry for the trouble. She does have a broken back, though, so hopefully she can pull through <3 I'll be getting her details up on the main page in just a moment. TheKeenGlint Stormpaw has her adult sprite!!! Also I headcanon that Heavy was so badly injured, she wasn't conscious and since the patrol had to carry her back to camp, they just called her Heavy because she was so hard to carry LMAO

She is such a pretty calico pattern tho ;-;
I will be back to put in some starters after dinner; I think I'm in charge of cooking today. My sister adopted a dog yesterday and it's fallen to me to do behavior corrections on the dog we already have to make sure they'll get along once they can be properly introduced (the new adopted dog needs a lot of space to recover, so they have to be kept separate for a while; getting our dog to understand that there's a new dog around but she's not allowed to play has been A Time.) Even while writing this I had to go out in the hall to go do redirections haha and writing the moon summary I got interrupted like, maybe three times. It's day one so it should get easier; she's already doing MUCH better than this morning. All my dog wanted to do was lurk in the hallway whining and begging anyone in the house to open the door ]]

The ginger she-cat's steps left pawprints in the snow. Suddenly, Frostfleck smelled a new scent, coming from ahead of the patrolling cats! It was mixed with the stench of blood! "Spottedfur, Mudspeckle, I can smell an injured cat ahead of us!" Shouted Frostfleck, alarmed. She raised her hackles, and her breathing was short. "Lets go and help the cat!" OOC: I can't wait to see the interactions between the new cat and the other cats of YewClan! |

I hope she'll live because that pattern <3 I'm going through the same thing, but instead it's with cats. My sibling moved back home a bit over 1 month ago & she adopted a cat (she's the sweetest child ever) while she was away. I still have our first cat (he's a mischievous little thing), and it has been a Big Time trying to get them to adjust. it's been all of the emotions possible and I cannot wait for the day that they tolerate each other... if that ever happens. sounds like it'll go well with your dogs though! my cat whines at the door when he's locked into a room with his litter box, bed & food. he's known for his screaming techniques. is it easier to introduce dogs versus cats? I've never had a dog before. ] |
