Ghostscreech sat beside his mate, looking up at Lightningstar as he settled down. Once the meeting was over, he planned on leaving right away with the search patrol. He just hoped that it wouldn’t be too late to get any kind of scent that was left behind.
Hollowpaw padded over to Scarletpaw and sat down next to her friend, “Is it time now? Your warrior ceremony?” She whispered to her, feeling happy that Scarletpaw was finally getting her warrior name, but also felt a sense of loneliness knowing that she would no longer be in the apprentice’s den with her.
Snowfalcon yawned as he made his way out of the warrior’s den, having just about to settle down in his nest when Lightningstar called for the meeting.
Sootpaw hurried over to the gathering clan and settled down next to his brother, looking at Patchpaw as he whispered excitedly, “I think he’s going to make Dawnpaw, Tigerpaw and Scarletpaw into warriors! I heard that they each passed their assessments.” He mewed, a hint of jealousy in his eyes. “I wish we were being made warriors too.”

Scarletpaw’s tension melted quickly as she saw Hollowpaw make her way to her side. She nudged her friend lightly, smirking. “It better be! I worked my tail off on my assessment.” She tried not to seethe about how effortless Dawnpaw had made it seem when it had been his turn to hunt and spar. She was happy to pass with both her brothers, but it was so hard to not be envious of how much of a natural Dawnpaw was. Shaking her head, she mused. “Hopefully my name will fit me. Nothing too soft, you know?”

(throws cats into the meeting)
Aspenfall sat outside the medicine cat den to listen to Lightningstar. Peachdapple was preoccupied with Midnightstream's whitecough, so he wanted to give her space.
Nighteye and Slatesight sat next to each other for the meeting.
Plumfur poked her head out of the warrior's den, feeling a sense of intrigue and worry over what the meeting was about.
Magpiewing had just wrapped up a training session with Sootpaw and dropped off a robin at the fresh-kill pile before sitting down and grooming her fur.

Lightningstar waited a few more moments before speaking. “Cats of Thunderclan!” He called. “Many of you by now have heard but our joint patrols with skyclan have been attacked!” He spoke. “These rogues killed Silvercloud and have kidnapped Arcticbreeze, Jadefeather, and Whitesun!” He spoke. “Ghostscreech is planning to lead a patrol into the twolegplace to attempt to find them.”

“Attacked?!” Mothsong exclaimed as she bolted up to her paws, fur bristling as she bared her teeth. The thought of rouges once again threatening Thunderclan made her blood boil, and her chest ache with worry that her father’s old group of rouges could be involved.
“They took Arcticbreeze? Starclan, no!” Vixenrose whimpered.
Scarletpaw narrowed her eyes darkly at the news, wanting nothing more than to tear her claws into any rouge she saw.

Owlfrost rested his tail tip on Mothsong's shoulder to try and calm his mate, but he had his own scowl on his face at the news. "Do we have any ideas on who was behind this attack?" He called up, looking at both Ghostscreech and Lightningstar.
Forestblaze hissed in frustration, his tail lashing, "How many times will we have to put up with being attacked by these rouges?" He snarled. Forestblaze couldn't help but send a glare towards Ghostscreech, feeling a different wave of anger go through him when he saw how close he was sitting next to Frostmoon, "We never should have gone to the Twolegplace to hunt! All it did was bring us more hardships! First the poisoned prey, and now this!"
Ghostscreech frowned when Forestblaze directed his anger towards him, although he couldn't entirely blame the other warrior for doing so. But he couldn't help but wonder if there was more to the anger in Forestblaze's eyes. "We knew that there would be risks involved in hunting there, which is why we took extra precautions." He said, meeting Forestblaze's gaze with his own.
"So much for that, huh?" Forestblaze spat, tail still lashing behind him. "Look at how much we've lost since we started these patrols! How can you be so sure that you'll even be able to find Arcticbreeze or SkyClan's missing deputy?" He challenged.
Hollowpaw's claws dug into the ground, her ears going flat against her head, "What if Ghostscreech can't find the missing patrol members?" She whispered to Scarletpaw.

((Cloning blue!))
Bluewhisker's steely eyes narrowed slightly as Lightingstar delivered the news of the patrol's fate, the rest of her expression remaining impassive. She let a frown cross her face as Forestblaze spoke up, hurling his anger at the Clan deputy.
"Forestblaze," she warned in a calm voice. Call her old-fashioned, but she valued respect above many things. "Ghostscreech is the ThunderClan deputy. Would you rather he idly let us starve?"

“Forestblaze has a point.” Sootclaw lashed his tail once, eyes flicking over to the younger deputy as the older tom scoffed. “What in our right minds made us think that stepping foot in Twolegplace for any reason was a good idea? What if Arcticbreeze is dead because of this failed idea? We’ve already lost too many Clanmates just this past moon.”
“H-how can we possibly search all of Twolegplace if they were taken? It’ll be nearly impossible!” Dapplenight whimpered, fearfully hunching at the thought of more rouges threatening Thunderclan.
With a sudden flare of emotion, Frostmoon faced Forestblaze with bristled fur, eyes narrowed sharply as she snapped at her friend. “You make it sound like Ghostscreech sent them out there to be ambushed! Or have you forgotten that we were eating much more than we had the past three moons before we brought back a bad batch? Ghostscreech hasn’t let us down countless times before, and he won’t now!” She lashed her tail, defensive over her mate’s honor.

"There had to be another way for us to find prey!" Forestblaze said, looking back at Bluewhisker when she spoke up. His ear twitched when Sootclaw seemed to agree with him, glad to know that he wasn't the only one feeling this way. Forestblaze looked at Frostmoon in light surprise when she suddenly snapped at him, feeling a flash of hurt in his chest when he saw how she defended the deputy. A scowl took place on his face, his glare sharpening as he looked at her and Ghostscreech, "It was his idea that we go there in the first place. And yeah, maybe it did work out at first, but that doesn't change the fact that we half the clan was poisoned by that prey! Laceheart lost her life, and it almost cost Sunthroat his kits' as well! Are we really going to ignore all of that just because we had a bit of success with it in the beginning?" He growled, feeling his own fur start to bristle.
Sunthroat flinched when his mate and kits was brought up, the wound of losing Laceheart still fresh for him. "That's enough, Forestblaze!" He growled, standing up and sending his own fierce glare towards the young warrior. "We're in the middle of a meeting. Save your grievances for later, and let's finish the Clan meeting first. I would also appreciate if you could leave Laceheart and my kits out of this." Sunthroat added the last part with a warning look to the rest of the Clan, not wanting to have his mate's death brought up again as another point in why the Twolegplace patrols had failed.
Ghostscreech felt his neck fur bristle when Sootclaw chimed in, but stayed silent when Sunthroat spoke up and turned to Frostmoon, resting his tail tip on her shoulder, "Thank you." He murmured quietly.

Frostmoon had been ready to snap back at Forestblaze, only to stiffen as Sunthroat’s commanding mew broke up the conflict. She looked around for a moment, shame in her eyes as she realized the Clan was looking their way. She quickly sat back down beside Ghostscreech, appreciating the touch of his tail, but only giving a small nod in response.
Now that the moment of defensiveness was over, she felt a weight in her belly. She really didn’t enjoy arguing with Forestblaze, who she knew wasn’t entirely wrong. While she was angry that he seemed to be targeting Ghostscreech, she couldn’t help but agree that the losses they faced from the poisoned prey had been astronomical. They could have been avoided, and it wasn’t crazy to think that many cats would be upset with the choice to try hunting in Twolegplace. She couldn’t meet Forestblaze’s eyes, instead trying to focus back on Lightningstar upon the rock.

Shadowblossom's ice turned to blood as she heard the announcement of Arcticbreeze's kidnapping. She had finally started to form a relationship with her adopted sister and now she was gone? She stood ignoring the fighting happening around her. "I would like to go on the rescue patrol. Arcticbreeze is my sister, I will do all I can to find her."
Stumppaw watched in horror from her spot beside Flurrypaw, "This isn't what I was expecting at all."
Willowsong placed her tail over Forestblaze's shoulders, conflict clear in her eyes as she looked from Ghostscreech to Forestblaze. "Please! This isn't the time Forestblaze."
Blizzardstorm herded Tansykit and Twilightkit toward the nursery, not wanting them to hear the yelling breaking out through the camp.
Flamesky touched his nose to Brokenwing's ear before he peaked his head out of the medicine cat den to see what was going on.
Baykit whined at the loss of heat from his father, snuggling closer to Brokenwing's belly.
Darktail who had barely exited the medicine cat den when the meeting was called sat with ears pinned down, what was going on? This wasn't like the clan to fight like this.

"Are they arguing?" Midnightstream called to Darktail from her nest in the medicine den with curious eyes. She was a helplessly nosy cat at times, and the prospect of an argument during a meeting was both surprising and a bit interesting. She winced at her bellyache. "Stupid Whitecough..."
Hornetstrike's eyes had widened at his daughter's fierce outburst against Forestblaze. He looked once at Ghostscreech, realizing that there was no doubt that Frostmoon had taken the deputy as her mate. After all, she looked just like Whiteblaze did in the moments the beautiful and fierce she-cat defended him in conflicts. Hornetstrike turned to look up at Lightningstar after a moment, padding up to Shadowblossom's side. "I'll join the search patrol too, if you'll have me. I'm sure I can climb fences or to high places to help search." He offered seriously.

Lightningstar hadn’t quite expected the meeting to turn into a shouting match. Tensions were high but this was no time to argue. “Enough!” He snapped, fur bristling. “We will not turn on our own clanmates.” He spoke, voice hard. “If you wish to blame someone for the prey and attack then I am to blame. It was my decision to allow the patrols.” Lightningstar paused to let the clan settle a moment before continuing.
“Ghostscreech will lead a small patrol to try and search for the missing cats. We don’t want to risk half the clan going into the twolegplace.” He spoke. “They will be careful and not take unnecessary risks.” He glanced at Ghostscreech. “Ghostscreech will inform you if you’ll be on the patrol. Once the meeting is over try and eat quickly before heading out.”

Frostmoon tensed up at Lightningstar's order, her eyes averting as she silenced herself, trying to sink low so she wouldn't be looked at. Starclan, she hated having eyes on her. She quickly looked up though as her father volunteered to go on the patrol. She glanced at Ghostscreech, wondering if he would take Shadowblossom and Hornetstrike since they volunteered so quickly. A part of her wanted to go, but the other part of her bitterly reminded herself that she would probably mess everything up, just like she did at Sunningrocks.
Mothsong sat down slowly at Lightningstar's call, her claws flexing as Owlfrost's tail managed to provide her with at least some comfort from her frantic anger.

Plumfur pressed against Dapplenight in fear. She wanted nothing to do with the Twolegplace. "This can't be happening! None of us deserve this..."
Nighteye gave Slatesight a knowing look and jumped to his paws. "Please, let me go on the rescue patrol as well. I have experience navigating Twolegplace." he called, glancing at Shadowblossom in support. He was grateful for her quick action.
Slatesight blinked at his brother in understanding. He had thrown away that part of his life, running around Twolegplace as an arrogant apprentice; Nighteye, on the other paw, could easily embrace what he had learned for good. "If you go, please be careful..."
Aspenfall's ears fell at the news. First poisoned prey, then whitecough, and now this? And SkyClan lost Silvercloud... he thought with dismay. What did StarClan mean by this?
Magpiewing drew her fangs back in an angered snarl. "Those Twolegplace fiends!"

What did StarClan mean by this? Magpiewing drew her fangs back in an angered snarl. "Those Twolegplace fiends!" Dapplenight's ears fell as he agreed with his mate's disdain. He took a shaky breath. "Why does it always have to be rouges? I can't stand it!" It was his earliest memory, being shoved back in the nursery wall as Vixenrose blocked the hole with her body. He still remembered sobbing in terror that Vixenrose would be torn apart right in front of him as he pressed to his sisters' sides. While Vixenrose had somehow held off the rouges from the kits she had stuffed in the nursery wall, she still had scars from that night that always made Dapplenight feel sick. Peachdapple listened silently, her eyes dull with the thoughts of all the rouges had done to Thunderclan, all the lives they had taken. A rumbling anger filled her, and her claws flexed into the dirt beneath her. Moments like these made her yearn for Warriorhood, just so she could charge out and send fur flying. She reminded herself that her instinctive anger was not ideal for a medicine cat. Even after all these moons, she still wanted to fight first and ask questions later. For now, she focused on Aspenfall as she approached her apprentice. "We'll prepare traveling herbs for the patrol. We have some more burnet in stock, yes? I saw you bring more in yesterday, I believe." She mewed quietly.

Plumfur licked Dapplenight's cheek in comfort. She knew just how badly he was affected by rogues, and she wanted nothing more than to comfort him. "I can't either. We must be too close to the Twolegplace, or we have some enemies that just won't leave us alone..."
Aspenfall looked surprised to see Peachdapple leave the den. "Of course, Peachdapple. We can't risk losing any more warriors to kidnappers." His fur bristled at the idea of his father or uncle going back to that dangerous place. "We... we need to have faith."

Even as a loner, she never liked them.” He admitted softly, suddenly missing Acorntail’s wisdom. Peachdapple looked at Aspenfall with a strong and steady look. “Always have faith. No matter how hard it gets, how hopeless or helpless, you promise me that you will always have faith, Aspenfall.” She demanded, almost urgently in her seriousness as her heart broke all over again. Soon, she knew, Aspenfall would be Thunderclan’s lone medicine cat. She smiled softly, proud of him and how far he had come. “You must have enough faith for every cat in this Clan. Enough to overcome any darkness.”

Is the Twolegplace so bad that they want to take over our camp?" she asked. She guessed Acorntail told Dapplenight many stories from her time as a loner.
"Your words alone give me enough faith in the Clans for my entire lifetime." Aspenfall spoke, honest and true. Peachdapple truly was one of the wisest cats he knew, and one he would be proud to work with until they both joined StarClan. "We would be in a darker place without you. I only hope I can match your iron will."

Ghostscreech looked up at Lightningstar and gave a nod, "I'll take the three that have volunteered. As well as Ravenshade and Nettlepatch. They were on the hunting patrol as well, so they should be able to lead us to where the attack happened." He mewed, looking over at the two warriors and then at Shadowblossom, Hornetstrike and Nighteye. "We'll leave as soon as we can."
Forestblaze jerked away from Willowsong, turning his angry glare on her, "Of course you would side with him, you always do." He hissed at her. Forestblaze moved several tail-lengths away from Willowsong and sat back down when Lightningstar ordered them to quit arguing, his neck fur still bristling furiously and his tail flicking back and forth as he fell silent.
Echo sat at the edge of the medicine den's entrance, listening to Lightningstar as he reported what had happened. Her ears fell flat when she heard the news of the attack, "So my warning came too late after all." She murmured quietly to herself. Echo gave a sharp shake of her head, maybe it wasn't Greaser's gang. It could have been an entirely different group of cats that attacked them for all she knew. What she did know was that she needed to get back to the Twolegplace soon and find a way to get Sparrow out of that hollowed out monster.

Nettlepatch and Shadowblossom headed for the camp entrance, Nettlepatch fidgeting anxiously beside his aunt.
Willowsong looked hurt as Forestblaze glared at her but said nothing else. He was right after all, wasn't that the whole point of their plan? Instead she sat silently looking at her paws, waiting for the meeting to conclude so she could get further away from him.

Hornetstrike followed dutifully after Nettlepatch and Shadowblossom, though he kept his ears angled over to Lightningstar as the clan meeting continued. Hopefully, they would have some new Warriors today, a more positive note to a drastically dire situation in front of them.
Frostmoon looked at Ghostscreech, her voice a low rasp as she nodded. "Good luck, okay? I know you can do it. Arcticbreeze has to be okay. And I know you don't give up." She mewed, indicating that she decided to remain back this time. The patrol couldn't be too large, and she didn't want to mess anything up again. She touched her tail gently to his side, before nodding.
Scarletpaw's tail tapped lightly as she glanced at Hollowpaw and snorted. "Ghostscreech has to find them. And if not, then surely someone else will. I can't imagine Arcticbreeze letting any rouge get the better of her, can you?" She tried to soothe her friend, though inwardly she assumed that Rosethorn was watching her every move. So, she remained as neutral as possible.

Peachdapple's eyes grew soft with a multitude of emotions. She brushed her tail softly against Aspenfall's shoulder, wondering if he knew just how much she was going to miss him. She swallowed down her worries, instead rasping out. "You already have matched it. Perhaps more. You were born for this role even more than I was, my dear. Nighteye was quick to follow after the patrol to the camp entrance. "I can't believe it's come to this. Kidnapping Clan cats? I remember when the worst of Twolegplace was arguing over crow-food." he growled.
Plumfur swallowed nervously. She hated the idea of cats that enjoyed pain roaming free close to the forest. "It is sick. I'm glad we don't fight like that in the Clans." she admitted, even though she disliked fighting in general.
Aspenfall felt a lump form in his throat, and he turned to face Peachdapple with an emotional look in his eyes. "Truly, Peachdapple, I don't deserve you. StarClan may have called me here to... undo what my father did, or perhaps not, but you have the spirit of warrior and medicine cat - Clan cat - through your entire being. No matter what, I couldn't be more proud to train under you." He looked back to Lightningstar, noting just how old the leader looked. "... there's change coming to ThunderClan soon, isn't there?"

"They get bolder every season." Hornetstrike growled lightly, yellow eyes flashing in agreement with Nighteye.
"I sure hope we never do. I don't think I could ever fight like that. I can hardly stomach battling as is now, with killing not being allowed by the Code." Dapplenight swallowed, fur bristled as nerves rushed through him. He glanced at Plumfur wearily.
Peachdapple blinked as she noticed that Aspenfall was referring to Lightningstar's growing age. His words struck her heart like lightning, and she had to use all her trained skills to keep her composure from breaking. She leaned down, voice as steady as possible as she mewed. "There's always change coming. This is... is no different. Time just... takes away. That's how it will always be. These kinds of changes will define you as a medicine cat. You must be ready for any change, Aspenfall. The Clan looks to us for leadership in different ways." She felt her eyes burn, knowing that there would indeed be great change coming for the tom. She had strong faith that he could do it. He had to do it.

"They had to have known about the Clans if they did stage an ambush. Which makes sense for Arcticbreeze as a Thunderclan cat, but what reason would they also want conflict with Skyclan?" Hornetstrike mumbled, looking a bit confused before he gave a light sigh. "Ugh. This makes no sense, even for rouges!"

Ghostscreech touched his nose to Frostmoon's ear tip briefly before he pulled back, "We'll be back before you know it. Get some rest, okay?" He mewed before he made his way over to the gathered search patrol. Ghostscreech gave the patrol a small nod as he approached, "If you haven't eaten yet, you should now. We'll leave once the meeting is over." He told them quietly, so as to not interrupt the rest of the meeting.
