Inwardly, Bluewhisker was fond of her apprentice's excitement for the simple things in the world. Outwardly, her serious expression never wavered. "Sometimes it does," Bluewhisker said. "Snow is beautiful, yes, but it sends prey to ground. It makes life hard for us. So, today, we will catch what we can." The senior warrior nodded to Hickoryshade as she approached. "Yes. RiverClan sounds fine," she said. "Hickoryshade, you lead. I would like to observe my apprentice." “Mm! An honor, to lead a patrol when you’re on it, Bluewhisker.” Hickoryshade mused with both humor and instinctive respect for the older she-cat, before she flicked her tail quickly and turned towards the camp entrance. “Yewpaw won’t be too far behind the apprentices who passed their assessments recently. Though, I never doubted Flamestrike and Vixenrose’s kits for a second.” She admitted casually, inwardly hoping they would be willing to understand her point of view on the Clans soon. Maybe they’d be willing to help make unification a reality.

Yewpaw's tail flicked back and forth with excitement as she was lead from camp by the two warriors. She had been on patrols before, with other apprentices and other warriors, and everytime she felt special. She could prove her abilities to some cat that wasn't her own mentor!
And it wasn't like she hadn't been to the Riverclan border before. Yewpaw hadn't gone much, it wasn't a common excursion, but the sight of the river was always worth it. It scared her, that she could get stuck under the water and never come up again. She was perfectly content on staying on Thunderclan's side, with her paws dry. But it was always so beautiful, the way the sun make it look like it was sparkling.
Yewpaw beamed up at Hickoryshade as she spoke, her smile widening as a compliment was tossed her way. Or, what she interpreted as one anyways. "What part of the border are we hunting on? Or are we not hunting anymore?" Her tail shot up in excitement. "What if we run into a Riverclan patrol? That would be pretty cool!"

Bluewhisker fell back, the patrol forming a single file as they moved through the undergrowth with Hickoryshade in the lead, followed by Yewpaw, and Bluewhisker in the rear. True to her word, Bluewhisker stayed quiet and watched Yewpaw.

“Oh, we’re hunting. Sometimes the stuff that washes up from the river draws prey in. Like bugs and seeds, fruit. All that.” Hickoryshade glanced down at Yewpaw, humored by the apprentice’s enthusiasm. She pushed through some dried underbrush, noticing with a faint scowl that leafbare was coming and prey had been awful during the warmer moons. Thank Starclan that Hickoryshade could get prey from Fluffcloud and Eelshock for Thunderclan.
“If we see a Riverclan patrol, we be cordial. I hate to say it, but if they challenge us, they’ll likely have every advantage. But if we let be and keep to our sides of the border, we’ve got no need at all to be hostile.” She decided.

Ghostscreech sighed as he walked away from the small group of gathered warriors, having finished setting up some extra patrols. Once Lightningstar announced what had happened to the twolegplace patrol, he intended on leading the search patrol out after the meeting. Ghostscreech padded towards the fresh-kill pile, deciding to eat something while he had the chance. Picking out a squirrel, he glanced around for a spot to eat at when he noticed Frostmoon grooming her fur. He started towards, hoping to spend some time with her before he left on yet another patrol. “Did you just get back from training?” He asked, dropping the squirrel next to her as he settled down next to her. “Perceptive of you.” Frostmoon mewed simply, though it was clear that she was teasing him in her own way. She softened, looking at the squirrel and nodding. “Thank you. I ah, haven’t had time to stop and eat today.” She patted her tail to invite him closer to her as she mewed. “Patchpaw gets stronger every session. I know it sounds small, but it makes me feel like I’m doing this mentoring thing right.” Ghostscreech pushed the squirrel closer to Frostmoon, indicating with his ear to let her have the first bite of squirrel. “He’ll make a fine warrior one day, but it won’t do him any good if his mentor works herself to exhaustion.” He mewed gently as he settled down close enough to let his fur brush against hers lightly. “I’m glad that you enjoy mentoring though, I can see how much dedication you’ve put into Patchpaw’s training.”

She allowed herself to smile lightly with humor, before she took a bite, knowing that he wanted her to go first. She swallowed, before admitting. “I’m grateful I was trusted with an apprentice so quickly after getting my name. It makes me feel… I don’t know. Important? Like all my training and dedication was rewarded. Good. It feels good.”

There was no malice nor teasing, but moreso a confident statement. She nodded approvingly. “Swallowcry is a great Warrior. You did a great job, with her.” She seemed to fret a bit suddenly. “Something went wrong with that patrol, didn’t it? I can tell. They haven’t spoken to any of us at all.” She nudged.

Hunting was important, but fighting for her clan and protecting it was even more exciting than anything else. Alas, I've never been in a real battle. Another thing, she'd never heard of fruit before. She didn't even know what it was. Bugs were something she had tried before, as a kit, and she wasn't keen on trying another. "What is fruit?" The curious apprentice asked.

Surely, she could one day see that they wouldn’t need to fight over borders, but defend one joined border together instead. She did humor at Yewpaw’s question, forgetting that the she-cat would have been very young when plants bore fruit in newleaf. “Fruit grows on plants after their flowers come in. Like berries. You remember Peachdapple talking about Deathberries, and to avoid them? Those are a type of fruit, albiet a bad one. But most fruit won’t harm you, like blackberries and raspberries, or small apples near the Skyclan border.”

hello, long time no see Thunderclan.... let me know where I can throw my characters in and you got it ) Postin some starters :3 ) Midnightstream tensed up a bit in her nest. Recently, she had been feeling some slight pains in her belly. She knew that the kits were far too early to be coming, and it didn’t feel like it was any of their doing. She prayed it was just nervousness, but worry inked in her heart either way. She didn’t want to frighten Darktail though, so she kept reserved. Flurrypaw seemed downtrodded, eyes glowering as he kicked a pebble in the corner of camp. Drizzlepaw was still sick, and now Tigerpaw had passed his assessment. He’d be a Warrior and Flurrypaw would be an apprentice. They wouldn’t be denmates anymore, and that thought was crushing.

Tansykit tripped on a stone that Twilightkit kept near the nest, falling with an "oof!"
Blizzardstorm snickered quietly but helped Tansykit back to her paws. "Gotta watch where you're going little one." he mewed gently. He shook his head as she scampered off again without much thought. His eye met Midnightstream's as he looked up, smiling at the younger cat. "How are you doing Midnightstream? Are you and Darktail excited for your kits to arrive?"
Stumppaw approached Flurrypaw, flicking her tail as she assessed him. "What's got you looking so mad?" she leaned forward, meeting his eyes with her large amber ones. "Someone put a thorn in your nest?"

"Someone put a thorn in your nest?" Midnightstream seemed to snap out of her trance at Blizzardstorm’s question, her eyes creased with both assurance and a hint of tension as she mewed. “Oh! Yes, we’re… we’re super excited.” She couldn’t tell Blizzardstorm that Darktail technically wasn’t just Darktail. Someone else inhabited his body too. Beyond that, she winced as the small ache filled her belly again. Seeming a bit drained all of a sudden, she swallowed. “It’s the most excited I’ve been for anything.” “No, and that’s the problem!” Flurrypaw exclaimed as Stumppaw approached, his eyes wide with disdain. “Tigerpaw is going to be gone and Drizzlepaw is sick, so now there’s nobody to mess around with! And what if Tigerpaw goes and likes one of the other Warriors? I liked him first!” He mewed bluntly, uncaring if anyone knew of his affections for Tigerpaw.

Blizzardstorm's eyes flicked to her belly as he noticed her wince, "Are you okay? Are you feeling some early contractions already? Don't worry, Squirreltail had those too. I think they're pretty common. You could always go see one of the medicine cats though if you're concerned. I'm sure Peachdapple would be happy to take a look at you."
Stumppaw huffed trying not to let his statement get to her, they were never very close after all. "Guess me and those other apprentices are just some mouse bile to you then huh. I'm sorry Drizzlepaw is sick. I really hope she gets better soon, but you should have known Tigerpaw would become a warrior first. He's older than you."

She felt a bit more open talking to Blizzardstorm, not as worried about worrying him as she was worrying Darktail. “Do I look bad?” She asked honestly. Flurrypaw had the wisdom to be cowed, eyes wide as he stammered. “What? Oh, no, I didn’t mean it like that! You and everyone else are great, but… oh, you know. Like. Tigerpaw’s just. Tigerpaw!” He breathed, trying to express his feelings. “I knew it would happen but I didn’t expect it to go by so fast. What if he thinks the other Warriors are way cooler than me, and forgets all about me?” He pouted, looking a bit jealous.

Blizzardstorm's eyes widened, knowing Squirreltail would surely cuff his ear if he said the wrong thing. "Bad? No I don't think so. Just a bit tired I think. I understand your worry though, I've been feeling more and more nervous as leafbare approaches. I'd be devastated if Squirreltail or our kits got sick. You don't feel sick do you?"
"You still live in the same camp furball. He'd have to go blind and deaf to forget about you I'd think." Stumppaw joked doing her best to cheer him up. "You can approach him too, you know? I think it's pretty hard to ignore the cat mooning over you when he's right in front of your eyes."

Oh, stupid!” She scolded herself. “Sorry, Blizzardstorm.” She apologized meekly. Flurrypaw gave a long groan, though it was clear that he was being overly dramatic. “But some of the she-cats in camp are so pretty! Like, how do I compete with that? I saw Willowsong pass by and the sun hit her, and she looked magical! Magical, I tell you! When the sun hits my fur, I blind everyone!” He exclaimed, demonstrating by stepping into a few sun dapples, his white fur remaining the same white. “See?!”

Blizzardstorm blinked, surprised by her outburst. He pulled himself together quickly though, and stood up beside her. "Why don't I walk you to the medicine cat den then? It won't hurt to be checked out."
Stumppaw giggled quietly, "And who said Tigerpaw cares about she-cats? You don't. Willowsong is very pretty, I can give you that but you know who else is? Drizzlepaw! She looks just like you with her white fur. Think about how pretty it looks when she's in the shade of the trees, and some light comes through the leaves. She glows!"

"I don't like seeing her sick, not one bit."

“Only by a couple of moons!” Sunthroat said with a humored snort and roll of his eyes. As much as he enjoyed being a warrior, the stiffness in his joints told him that his time as a warrior was drawing to a close. Sunthroat looked over at the nursery with a soft, but sad smile, able to see his kits inside from where he was sitting, “Yes. I am sure about this, Lightningstar. Perhaps it’s selfish of me, but I would like to spend more time with my kits and watch them grow into strong warriors of ThunderClan one day.” Leopardfrost blinked in surprise at Ravenshade’s sudden defensiveness, “Why not? I might not have lived there for as long as you did, but I was still able to take decent care of myself.” She mewed, feeling a bit hurt that her friend didn’t want her to join her. Yewpaw asked, her gaze flicking back to Bluewhisker then latching back onto Hickoryshade. "And where exactly are we going to hunt again? Closer to the river? What if someone falls in?" She stretched her claws out, staring at them for a second. Could she save a cat if they fell in? Could she swim? Wasn't that Riverclan's job? Yewpaw didn't know how they even thought about getting their paws wet, it sounded horrible, and Yewpaw had been through enough rainy days to confirm that it was.
