Moonpelt coughed up some blood " I don't think I can make it " she said and strained almost pushing out a kit

Mintpaw couldn't take it anymore and rushed forward when Aspenpaw slipped into the nursery. "Moonpelt! Mother! Hang in there please" he could hear Aspenpaw begging the queen as he entered the den.

After Moonpelt kitted blood was coming out. She looked towards lightningclaw and Bloodystar " Goodbye my mate, my leader, and mainly my beautiful kits . Aspenpaw Mintpaw I'll tell your parents that tour have grown to be beautiful young cats " she coughed again. She looked towards the sky and Bloodystar meowed " Goodbye Moonpelt you will be missed" then her soul left to be with moonclan Bloodystar dragged her body pout leaving the fourt new born with anouther.

Quickpaw stayed by Moonpelt, nudging some raspberry and thyme leaves to her so she could eat them. "It's not your time." She mewed firmly, looking up to the sky. Then, she realized that she could do nothing at all to help anymore and just bowed her head in grief. "Moonpelt was a brave and strong cat. May she find good hunting and blue skies in Starclan."

Lightningclaw sat beside the newly born kits he named them " hollowkit, silverkit, bluekit and crystalkit"

"Who'll take care of the kits?" Quickpaw asked, tilting her head curiously. "Is there another queen in the nursery that can provide milk or care for them? Oh yes, there's Fawnspots." She added thoughtfully. "Hey, why do I hear someone coming into the medicine cat's den?" Her eyes bulged out as she saw a familiar cat enter.
Lightstripe padded into the medicine cat's den, wrinkling her delicate pink nose. Why was the scent of death reeking everywhere? "A cat died, I'm sure." She remarked, lifting her head. "Moonpelt, am I right? Oh, those poor kits! According to the clan code, the whole clan must raise them. This is awful, the tiny little things. I feel so bad." She ranted, pausing to take a breath. "Quickpaw, did you even groom yourself today? I never liked that fur of yours, too muddy-looking. Why couldn't you have been a warrior apprentice instead... Oh, and, is that scar of yours in your eye completely not infected?" She jabbered on, finally stopping for good and waiting for a response. Quickpaw, meanwhile, was narrowing her one pale amber eye but didn't say anything and just stalked away. Lightstripe was left frozen on the spot.

Aspenpaw let out a wail of anguish, loosing yet another parent. "No! Moonpelt! You promised us! You promised! You can't go! Your kits need you!" She called out, her voice broken. She echoed exactly how Mintpaw felt at the moment. Why did she have to go on their first day as apprentices?

Lightstripe made a fake sympathetic face as best as she could. "Poor little apprentices, you all must be so sad!" She yowled, making yet another sympathetic face and trying to show it in her eyes. As fast as lightning and before anyone could stop her, she gave Mintpaw and Aspenpaw each a big lick on the head. "Aww... It's such a horrible occasion!" Lightstripe wailed loudly.
Quickpaw glared at her mother angrily, but didn't say anything.

Mintpaw and Aspenpaw recoiled in shock, glancing up at Lightstripe with wide eyes. "She..she left us like they did" Aspenpaw stuttered out, flattening her ears.

"Sure thing. Lead the way" Snowstorm mewed, picking up her two mice and sparrow.

We will give our thanks and her kin or Foster kin shall bury her." Bloodystar nodded and climbed down she sat beside Moonpelt and lick her shoulder

Mintpaw was crouched down next to Moonpelt and was grooming her silently compared to Aspenpaw's whimpers as she groomed there as well. Mintpaw felt his heart break even more when he felt his sister lean up against him and he wrapped his tail around her in response.

Mintpaw gave her a small smile before it dropped when he heard Aspenpaw sniffle slightly. Frowning, he turned back to Aspenpaw and gave her a gentle lick on the head. "Thanks Dewstorm" he mewed to her after turning back.

Aspenpaw eventually cried herself to sleep, devastated by the loss of yet another parent. She fell asleep with her nose buried in Moonpelt's fur, copying Mintpaw but he wasn't asleep yet.
