I can't remember the last time I created a thread anywhere, hoo-boy. Anyhow! This is a simple jump in, I just ask for a description of your character before you start. Setting :: WindClan / The Forest Territories / It's Newleaf and it just finished raining. LEADER ;
Cherrystar - A dark ginger tabby she-cat with white paws and green eyes, she has very long fur and a stocky build. Cherrystar was only ranked up to leader just about three moons ago when the former Pigeonstar lost his last life to old age. ( gaius. ) DEPUTY ;Shadowwind - Shadowwind is a sleek, black she-cat with green eyes. She is both caring and tough, allowing her to connect to apprentices and clanmates alike. She is often aloof with her own personal business despite her ability to have her clanmates open up to her. Shadowwind may be mysterious at times but she is always friendly and cheerful with her clanmates. Her speed earned Shadowwind her warrior name. This makes her a strong hunter in Windclan's territory and she relies on her speed and agility in a fight rather than brute strength. ( Skybeam ) // Mentor to Foxpaw. MED. CAT ;Nettleclaw - Nettleclaw is a large, thick pelted gray tom with white paws and bright green eyes. He has a tattered left ear, three scars across one side of his face and a large scar on his back from past fights. Despite giving off a somewhat intimidating vibe Nettleclaw is a very kind cat, always making sure his clan-mates are well often fussing over the kits and elders. He is easily flustered and at times forgetful but always tries to do his best. Nettleclaw gained the prefix -claw as, as an apprentice he trained and became a warrior thinking that was what he wanted to do to serve his clan and showed promise in fighting skills, giving him the prefix -claw at his warrior ceremony. After living as a warrior for quite some time Nettleclaw began to feel like he didn't want to be a warrior and with the current medicine cat growing older decided he wanted to become Windclan's next medicine cat. ( saeflin ) WARRIORS ;- APPRENTICES ; Foxpaw - Foxpaw has a bright scarlet pelt with white lynxpoint markings. She has bright amber eyes with a light pink nose. She has a striking resemblance to her father who died a few moons after she was made an apprentice from greencough. Her mother had died kitting her and she never got to see what her mother looked like, though she was told that her mother was white as snow with long fur and amber eyes. ( Star ) // Apprentice to Shadowwind. QUEENS ;- ELDERS ;- OUTSIDERS (loners, rogues, etc.) ;-

{{ It's probably best if I start on my own thread, pfft. }}
The minute the rain had started, WindClan immediately sought shelter in many abandoned burrows that littered the campground. Cherrystar was among them, of course, as she didn't fancy the idea of her long fur getting wet. The leader padded outside shortly after the rain had become a light sprinkle, a satisfied smile on was her face as she realized that the rain was a very good sign. Life would surely spring up on the moor with this kind of weather, and they really needed it as WindClan always took a harsher hit than the other Clans when leaf-bare came around.

Foxpaw stepped into camp, pelt soaked from the rain. She had been caught in the storm while she was hunting and a wet rabbit hung limply in her jaws. She didn't mind the rain much since she had short fur, but it still slightly annoyed her because the dirt clung to her pelt much more easily when she was wet. The scarlet she cat padded over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped the rabbit among the other wet prey before going a few pawsteps away and shaking out her fur.

{{ Star , added! is it alright if cherrystar and foxpaw are related? like an aunt and niece? just asking haha. }} Cherrystar's eyes grew wide as she noticed the bright red pelt of Foxpaw walk into camp with a rabbit in her jaws, she was sure that all of WindClan took to the dens when the rain started, she hadn't thought to double check just in case someone was out of place. The leader berated herself for not being able to do that, at least Foxpaw came back in one piece - although the apprentice was pretty dirty from her solo hunting trip. Cherrystar padded up to the apprentice, mewing a welcome to her. "Good hunting, I presume?" She said, turning to look at the new piece of fresh-kill. 'At least this proves the prey is finally coming back.' She thought.

(Yeah, that's fine) "As good as a drenched cat's morning can be." Foxpaw replied in bitter amusement. "Ah, but it was my own Daly for deciding to go hunting when it was cloudy." She swished her tail, whiskers twitching slightly.
(Sorry so short. It's 2AM and I woke up by accident. Shouldn't even be awake XD )

{{ saeflin - added! Star - haha that's alright ! ^^)/ }} Cherrystar smiled sympathetically at the young cat, clearly she wasn't all too happy coming home completely drenched by sudden rainfall. Though hardly any cat would feel happy if they were in her situation, Cherrystar thought. "Well, on the bright side, you did catch a good piece of prey." The leader meowed, a proud smile on her face as she looked at her niece.

Nettleclaw lay in the entrance to the medicine den, his paws tucked under him and his tail held tight to his body. He looked out at the bleak day and watched the cats going about their morning duties in the light rain. He sighed fluffing out his fur I was going to try see if I could collect some catmint today, he thought deciding to stay put while it still rained.

(That's fine with me ) Shadowwind looked around the camp as she emerged from the warriors den. She was ready to sort the days patrols and fit in some training time for her apprentice.

"Thanks!" Foxpaw beamed at her Aunt's praise. She noticed her mentor out of the corner of her eyes and meowed apologetically to Cherrystar, "I have to go to my mentor, but I'd love to talk some more later!" She dipped her head in goodbye before bounding over to Shadowwind.

"Hi Foxpaw," said Shadowwind, "We're going to go on a hunting patrol this morning and maybe fit in some battle training after that?"

Foxpaw nodded, "Alright!" She swished her tail, already forgetting about her damp morning. "That sounds great! She flexed her claws in and out of the soft earth below paw, eager to get training and brighten her moon.

Foxpaw followed her mentor out of camp, the semi-cold wind carrying the dusty smell of the air after rain and the scents of grass and prey. Foxpaw scanned the area as they made their way to the moors, watching and listening for any prey.

Shadowwind spotted a rabbit in the distance and motioned for Foxpaw to come closer.
(Is Foxpaw a new apprentice and is she like halfway through her apprenticeship?)

Foxpaw crept closer to her mentor, already in her hunters crouch. She held her tail still and she kept her ears low. Foxpaw waited for her mentor's instructions, though it they didn't come soon she would begin the hunt as the rabbit looked nervous as its ears twitched.

(ok ) Shadowwind meowed softly, "Why don't you try this one, I'll creep downwind in case it bolts." Shadowwind started going around the whole scene, watching to see what her apprentice would do. At the moment neither cat was upwind or downwind of the rabbit.

Cherrystar raised her tail in greeting as she noticed Nettleclaw in his den, she must have missed him while she had been talking to Foxpaw earlier. The leader padded up to the gray medicine cat, nodding her head respectfully at him once she was close enough. "Fine weather, isn't it?" She mewed.

Foxpaw moved so that she was downwind and the scent of the rabbit washed toward her. She bunched her muscled as pushed forward, skimming over the grass and coming on top of the startled rabbit in barely over a heartbeat. She bent down and bit the spine of the squirming rabbit until she head a small crack and the rabbit went limp. The dead rabbit lay a whisker away from where it had been at the start of the hunt. She rather hunt her way since there weren't any brambles and bushes for her to hide and crouch in, so she thought it pointless to crouch and leap for prey.

Shadowwind padded over, "Good catch Foxpaw. But remember you won't always be able to use just your speed to catch your prey. It's important to know when you need to be patient and use your hunter's crouch, as well as when to use your speed. If you are hunting in a group remember that not every cat is as fast as you." It was times like this when she knew why Foxpaw had been apprenticed to her. She had so much energy and speed their weren't too many cats who could keep up with her.

Foxpaw nodded, "I know, but why do we have to wait? There aren't any bushes or brambles to hide us. I don't want to hide. The other clans can hide in their bushes." Her tail was lashing without her realizing it. She was never any good at partner hunting, but she almost always caught her prey so she didn't really see any fault in her tactics.

"We are WindClan cats," said Shadowwind, "We don't need brambles and bushes. Learn the lay of the land. Take advantage of every knoll and dip in the land. If you use your home to your advantage you won't always need your speed. Especially in Leafbare when prey is scarce and jumpy it will be hard to use only speed and cats must work together to survive when prey is thin. Leafbare is harsher on WindClan than the other clans."

Nettleclaw looked up and nodded in response to his leader. He got up into a sitting position, stretching his paws out before getting up. He glanced up at the sky for a moment before bringing his attention back to Cherrystar, he shrugged "It's not too bad, I just hope it clears up soon."

Foxpaw nodded, swishing her tail as she listened to her mentor. "Alright, I'll try," She replied reluctantly, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. (ahhh, sorry so short)
