Maskkit flattened his ears and he was tensed with the preparation to pounce at his sister. Yet, he sighed and stood straighter, looking down at her. "Father said once that its more honorable to avoid a fight than to start one. I'll prove I'm better than you when we're apprentices and training together, Mintkit!"

Mintkit pouted and stood up, puffing out. “Oh, that’s so boring! You just don’t wanna wrestle because you know you’d lose.” She puffed her chest again, a knowing grin passing her muzzle. |

Reedheart glared at Pepper once more before stepping to the side to talk with Diamondheart. Percy nodded. “I won’t let you down.” He promised. “I’m here to prove myself to you.” "Well." Diamondheart sighed, speaking once they were out of earshot. "That is rather surprising. Yet, I suppose better a cat like her, than like the rouges that overtook Thunderclan." The deputy shook his head. "I can tell that you were not keen on that. I don't blame you, though I do think this could actually work in our favor..." He trailed off, looking thoughtful, a bit ragged from Echosplash's unfortunate passing. "Then we will see, if you accomplish that or not." Axel nodded firmly, casting the tom a critical look, before he nodded his head over to Revy and Holly. "Go join them. We'll be leaving as soon as I gather a few more." Percy nodded before moving over towards Revy and Holly. He smirked to himself. Finally a chance! That’s all he wanted. “Our favor?” Reedheart narrowed his eyes at Diamondheart. “How could that ever work in our favor? She’s a pathetic scrap of her. We’d waste prey and herbs to heal her. She doesn’t deserve our help. She’s not a warrior or and elder who has served their clan.” |

I expect that we’ll need more herbs.” Diamondheart mewed quickly, glancing around at the barn. “If anything, she may know where alot of herbs are. A mutual beneficiary, if you will. She guides us to these patches, we show her which herbs to take that can help with her conditions, and we collect all we need. If anything, we could restore herbs that have been lost too...by taking them from outside our borders.” He looked thoughtful for a moment. “I suppose it would be up to Earthstar...Either way, at the very least we could tell her what herbs to look for, so she can treat herself.” He flashed a small hint of sympathy. “Ah.” Revy looked at Percy with a flicker of interest in his eyes. “My, my, Percy. You can certainly benefit us. They say you’ve been quite an impressive patroller.” He gave a small smirk, cool and collected. |

Specklecreek was sorting herbs, finally feeling like they were in some semblance of an order. Taking a deep breath she stepped back to examine her work. Hopefully this would be enough. She gathered up a few herbs and began to pad towards the clan, looking for the most injured of her clanmates.

Stormsplash, Tinypool and Littleshadow entered the barn, the family walking together solemnly. Tinypool looked around, needing to double check if Sharpclaw had made it. She couldn't lose him too. Minnowtail settled down in the hay, pulling Graykit, Songkit and Viperkit close to her. The queen was very nervous the kits wandering away. Skystorm settled near Minnowtail for the moment, watching Pepper closely. |

Specklecreek padded over to Stormsplash, Tinypool and Littleshadow, a bundle of herbs in her jaws. "I'm checking everyone for injuries, can I get anything for anyone?" She had gotten good at speaking around the herbs in her mouth, at least so she could be understood.

Stormsplash nodded towards his sisters "They were out in the smoke much longer, you should look them over."
Littleshadow shrank in the medicine cat's gaze. She didn't want treatment, she just wanted to be left to mourn.
Tinypool let out a small cough. "Are you sure you have enough herbs to treat everyone? I'll be okay." she mewed, her voice a bit hoarse.

Iciclepaw stalked over towards Pepper, his eyes flickering with distrust and cool curiosity. The stern young tom snorted lightly. "You're the loner I was told to keep an eye one? When was the last time you hunted? Should I assume you get food from twolegs out here?" He asked, wrapping his tail neatly around his paws.

Pepper opened her eyes, looking at the tom before smiling softly and lifting up her head. "I'm Pepper, and yes, I'm a loner. I haven't eaten in two days if you must know because I don't trust two-legs anymore. I'm not strong enough to hunt either." She coughed between words before stretching her legs to keep them from cramping up on her and causing more pain upon what was already going on. "What's your name?"

"Iciclepaw." The white and ginger flecked tom peered at the loner with cautiousness, stepping back a step when she moved. He pouted ever so slightly, before sighing out.
"Well, we probably won't have anything to offer you, unless you wait until everyone else here is fed. If Earthstar even lets you." He sniffed, before he nodded. "At least you're smart enough to not trust Twolegs."

Pepper gave a small chuckle. "I'm fine with waiting. I was being cared for by two-legs for my health but then they just... left me behind." She seemed to turn sad for a moment before she quickly changed the subject. "This Earthstar. What's he like? I've heard that he's the leader here and that's about all."

Troutpaw gave a bod and set to work. Laying a leaf for each cat he placed onto each one from a honeycomb he was carrying before placing a single poppy seed into the honey and sliding the leaves toward the cats. "Here, take these. The honey should soothe any damage the smoke caused to your throats and the poppy seed will help calm you down. I wanna see each of you take it all."

Catching prey for an extra set of paws would be rather difficult, certainly if Riverclan would be forced to hunt on land for a while. At the same time, the thought of leaving a cat who seemed as if she could barely walk was difficult for the white and silver tom. He gave a heavy sigh. "Well, perhaps she does not know what the herbs do, but has seen them before...We could have the medicine cats explain them. As for prey, I do agree that we can't spare any if we can only catch a small amount." He shook his head lightly. "I suppose all we can do is speak with Earthstar about it. Riverclan comes first though, and I know we both agree on that." "These kits are special." Revy mewed airily, the sly tom wrapping his tail neatly around his paws. "Very special. It's been a long time, since he's taken so quickly to a litter. Certainly after Spade left us, I believe that he is filling that void. Not that it matters to any of us. But, it goes without saying that we need to get them, and Obsidian back. Percy, my good companion, you would not like to see my father when he is at his angriest." He mused. |

"Earthstar is wiser than any cat you will ever meet, composed and sturdy. He has been our leader since long before I was born, and he has led with steadfast leadership. You're lucky it's him you'd be speaking with, and not another clan's leader." Iciclepaw explained, the cool admiration for his leader clear in his sharp voice.
"Wha? Hey!" Mintkit squeaked as she was pushed into the hay, sneezing as the dry stalks brushed her muzzle. She scrambled out of the hay, her eyes sharp with challenge. "I thought you said you didn't want to wrestle! Grr...Fine then! Your turn!" she lunged for her brother, her tiny paws pulling at him to try and pull him into the hay pile.

Holly snorted, "I doubt anyone does." she said, shaking her head. She had once seen the fearsome rogue leader tear a hole in a cat's throat when he had insulted Axel, it hadn't been a pretty sight. (I'm making things up lol, hope you don't mind, Blazer ^.^)
