Arcticbreeze watched Axel step into the beam of light, her ear flicking in light surprise when he inquired about her mentor. She hesitated briefly, not sure if she wanted to go into detail on the Clans and their training methods only to have him sneer at them again. Finally, she gave a small sigh, “When a kit reaches six moons old, they’re given the paw name and assigned a mentor.” Arcticbreeze explained with a shrug. Axel couldn’t really have a problem with how they trained their future warriors if he was already keeping them there to help his own fighters. “Mentors are responsible for making sure that their apprentices are trained how to fight and hunt properly.”
Whitesun lifted his head and looked at his mate again, having finally managed to get his emotions in check. He leaned forward, flinching lightly when his shoulder moved, and pressed his nose against her cheek gently. “Your past is a part of you, whether you like it or not. It was bound to catch up to you.” He murmured softly before pulling back and meeting her eyes with his. “I just wish that you had felt comfortable enough to tell me about this. I never would have held it against you, I hope you know that.”

Skyla came to a stop in front of the yard and eyed the overgrown grass warily, scenting the air briefly before she took a couple steps towards it. “Well, they’re certainly something else, that’s for sure. Honestly, I can’t see how they can stand the stench that they give off.” She mewed.

Axel listened intently, his voice coming out in an even drawl as he mused. "I see. Mentors and apprentices. Here, the mothers usually teach their own kits, but we have Strike Patrol leaders who will train all the kits in groups at one time. We all tend to train eachother here for different things. Azalea's a master tracker, and an experienced former Queen, so she attends those areas. Farland is our best fighter, most will learn to fight with him. And Revy is our tactician. Strategy is best left in his paws. He has saved many of our kits and the cats who eventually join us, in gratitude for his plans." Axel explained, before he rumbled. "And I personally train my own kits. The ones who are here, with me." He murmured the last part deeply, before he turned back to the cellar entrance. "Come then. I'll show you the other cat-walks."
Jadefeather felt her heart flutter with a deep love for her mate. She shushed him, nudging him gently with her muzzle in return of his affections. "Don't strain yourself for my sake. I'm sorry, that I never told you. I'm more than comfortable with you, I always will be... I was just uncomfortable with myself. But, I promise, from now on out, I won't ever hide anything from you." She promised gently.

"They must lose their sense of smell with it all clogged up with dog scent." Jax scoffed, before his ears flicked over towards a moving shape. "Hmph. I think that's a cat there. Can you see that?" He pointed his tail at the sight of a flash of white. The she-cat turned, and for a split second, Jax startled at the round black patches of fur over her eyes. It wasn't until she opened them that he realized that she indeed did have eyes, instead of a skull-like hollow-eyed face. He bristled once, murmuring to Skyla. "Definitely a cat. I've heard murmurings of a cat described exactly like this one. They say her name is Boo. Shall we find out?" He asked.

Arcticbreeze listened quietly, although it didn't make much sense to her. Wouldn't training that many kits at once be difficult for one or two cats? Keeping her thoughts to herself, she picked up her rat and slowly followed after Axel, her eyes blinking rapidly as they adjusted to the brightness of the factory. It just made more sense to her to appoint one apprentice to a mentor, then they would be able to focus on that one apprentice's strengths and weaknesses. The last thing he had said about personally training his own kits had made her a bit curious. Just how many kits did he even have? And how different was his training compared to the other ones that he had mentioned.
Whitesun settled back down with a small sigh, "We'll find a way out of here, one way or the other. I don't know how long it will take for my wounds to heal, but I want to get back to our home before our kits come." He said, a determined glint in his eyes. "I wish we could have known earlier, then you wouldn't have been caught up in this mess." Whitesun added.
--------------
Skyla gave a small flick of her ear and nodded, "Let's go." She said, letting the tenseness caused by the earlier dog leave her as the approached the white she-cat. She glanced back at Jax, wondering if he would be taking point on this again.

She said, letting the tenseness caused by the earlier dog leave her as the approached the white she-cat. She glanced back at Jax, wondering if he would be taking point on this again. Axel padded up into the factory, greeting each passing cat with curt nods. A few of the younger cats stopped their wrestling to stand respectfully for the leader. Axel merely snorted. “Why stop your spar? Keep going, and may the strongest cat win.” He encouraged, watching the kits grin and get right back to their wrestling. Their mother watched idly, grooming her pelt in the window’s sunlight. Axel continued onwards, leaping up onto a few pipes as he invited. “These are stronger than any tree you are used to. How well can you jump, Arcticbreeze?” Jadefeather shook her head with a weak chuckle, though her eyes drooped as she swallowed. “Emberpaw and Hawkpaw must be worried sick. It breaks my heart to think they could think we’re dead, or captured.” She grit her teeth, before she assured. “Axel won’t harm me knowing that I’m expecting kits. I’m hoping that means he won’t harm you either, by default.” She looked at him. “But I would have protected you no matter if I was pregnant or not.” —- Jax quickly slipped through the small twolegnests, only to stiffen as the ghostly she-cat whipped her head around to stare right at Jax and Skyla. She curled her tail and giggled. “Are you two sneaking up on me? I have very good hearing, you know.”
