Tinypool dipped her head to the deputy "Thank you for coming to find us, we'll take care of it from here."
Littleshadow started to gently drag Echosplash's body underneath a nearby bush, praying to starclan that no animal would find it. The she-cat knew she was still crying as she started down at the frail body of her adoptive mother. Stormsplash and Tinypool had already been almost warriors when Littleshadow had been born, yes they had accepted her as a sibling but Littleshadow had spent most of her childhood alone with Echosplash. Now she was gone.
Stormsplash's face fell as he noticed his sisters and the unmoving body of his mother. He gasped running from Pepper and towards his sisters "No no no! Mother!"

Pepper looked up as she spotted the group carrying the fallen she-cat. Her face turned sorrowful a she watched Stormsplash race over and her heart ached as they began to mourn for the fallen one. "It is always a sad day when a cat dies. I pray she finds solace." Pepper turned to look at Reedheart and gave him a small smile. "I know you do not trust me. You have no reason to. But I can assure you that I mean you all no harm. I also did not want to live with two-legs for your information. My mother was born one and I had nowhere else to go once separated from her because of my health. I'll leave you all alone to grieve and will continue on once I have the strength to make it back to at least the edges of the two-leg place."

“No you will leave now.” Reedheart said aggressively. He didn’t want a rogue around when they were mourning. For all Reedheart knew she could be some sort of rogue spy. “I’ll drag you myself if it’ll get you out.” He stepped forward, fur fluffed out.

“What is happening over here?” Diamondheart had spotted the unfamiliar cat, noticing how tense both Reedheart and Brookheart looked. He knew of Reedheart’s quick temper and protectiveness of the clan, but he also did not know who this newcomer was.
The deputy’s tail flicked lightly, moving towards the groups. He looked at Brookheart and mewed.
“Can you assist in getting the apprentices organized to hunt and assisting the medicine cats?”
The senior warrior nodded lightly, mewing quietly to the deputy. Diamondheart’s eyes flashed curiously at the tom’s description of the loner, and he nodded his assurance as Brookheart moved off. He looked between Reedheart and Pepper quickly before he breathed out.
“I see we have a visitor. Quite possibly the worst time for it though. We have no treatments to spare, if that’s what you’re looking for.” He admitted.

Axel rushed quickly into the abandoned factory, noticing it had been cleared out. So it was true. Obsidian truly had been taken, right under his nose, and twolegs had dared to encroach upon his territory. He knew they would be back like rats to carrion. They would have to transfer to another location for a while. He ignored that thought though, and his teeth bared furiously as he scented around. They had taken his kits too!
"Where." He demanded, the moment that Revy had silently landed from the beams at his side. His oldest son flicked his ears, sharp blue eyes flickering with knowledge as he reported.
"Northside, the monster took the wide path right into the heart of the city. We know that there are a few holding nests where cats are taken in that area, but the monster had a blue marking on its side. It will be easier to find them, if we can locate the nest with the blue marked monsters."
"Grand. The central city is the hardest to patrol. I imagine the dogs and twolegs will be crowding like crows." Axel paced furiously, before he hissed. "I'll slaughter all of the north for Obsidian and our kits. I'll do whatever it takes to get her back."
(Anyone can add cats if they want, for the group)

Axel moved to slip from the nest, glaring out across the throngs of gathered cats, the group whispering between themselves. He leaped upon one of the old dumpsters, looking down.
"The twolegs have taken one of our own, and have encroached upon our territory. Until they clear out, we will be relocating to the east, and will take up base in the old abandoned nesting site. I will be leading a group to get Obsidian and our kits back to us. Kill or threaten whoever attempts to stop our temporary relocation. Revy will accompany me." Looking out across the cats, he looked at Holly for a moment before he mewed.
"Holly, you will join us as well. Your tracking has proved well these past few moons, and few move more quietly than you do." He ordered.

Revy offered a silent grin. Holly had always been a favorite of his, always preforming well on patrols and certainly rather similar to him in stature and stealth. A good choice, for such a task. He watched his father call out orders to a few other cats, before leaping down and storming up to them.
Axel looked at Holly and rumbled. "You remember your way through the northern territory, yes? I want to be sure that I can depend on you. You will be rewarded well, if you serve to help get Obsidian back."

"Not as brave as I'll be!" Mintkit giggled playfully, the young she-kit moving to swat at her brother's tail in a mock crouch. She exclaimed. "I'll be the best warrior in Riverclan! You can be second though if you want, Maskkit."

Pepper looked up at Diamonheart with a smile, though pain and sadness could be seen in her gaze. "I'm not here for treatment... I don't have long left anyways without help and I've accepted that. Right now I'm just trying to get my strength back so I can walk back to my 'den' on the outskirts of the two-leg place."

Diamondheart looked at the loner for a long time, as though sizing her up and reading her. He admitted inwardly that she was indeed rather sickly, certainly not a threat on her own. He glanced at Reedheart, knowing the other tom would not be keen on any rouge or loner. With what had happened to Thunderclan, the deputy doubted that any of the clans would be very lax about the subject. He looked at Pepper and offered instead.
"I have a suggestion. In terms of helping you, we must put our clanmates first...but this does not mean we are incapable of helping you. Once we are organized, and our leader arrives back, you may be able to speak with him. If that is the case, you will need to be monitored and wait. If you do not agree, then Reedheart is right...and you must return back as quickly as possible." He offered, stern but even.

Reedheart let out a short hiss. Leave it to Diamomdheart to be chummy with the rogue. Let this mange ball stay here? What did they have to offer her? Their herbs and everywhere were destroyed and they didn’t need another pathetic mouth to feed.

Nix watched Axel shout orders, wondering if they could even get the captured cats back. It wasn’t easy going up against twolegs, especially in the city.
Percy sat a few tail lengths away. He hoped Axel would notice him, wanting to prove he was worth something to the leader.

He nodded to Pepper. --- Axel had noticed the anticipating look from Percy, knowing the tom's dedication had always been present. Once he nodded his approval to Holly, he moved to approach the tom. "I can tell you want to accompany us. I'll grant you that. I will need strong paws for this. I should hope yours can suffice." He grunted with a nod. |

The she-kit puffed her chest, exclaiming to her brother. "I bet you I could swim across the river already." Such a statement earned a small chuckle from Smogstorm, though the black queen did not say anything yet. |

Pepper gave a nod before getting more comfortable, turning over onto her side and laying her head down, her eyes closing as she focused on her breathing. Her chest was tight and her bones ached but she was use to it by now, the she-cat falling into a light nap in no time at all.

As they neared the barn where the clan was Ashfaith began to lean a bit heavier on Earthstar, his consciousness finally beginning to slip away as he coughed once more and stumbled slightly because of it. "Is Eelshock okay? Did he make it back?" He managed to get the words out but they were low and hoarse.

Stormsplash, Tinypool and Littleshadow entered the barn, the family walking together solemnly.
Tinypool looked around, needing to double check if Sharpclaw had made it. She couldn't lose him too.
Minnowtail settled down in the hay, pulling Graykit, Songkit and Viperkit close to her. The queen was very nervous the kits wandering away.
Skystorm settled near Minnowtail for the moment, watching Pepper closely.

Diamondheart sighed, speaking once they were out of earshot. "That is rather surprising. Yet, I suppose better a cat like her, than like the rouges that overtook Thunderclan." The deputy shook his head. "I can tell that you were not keen on that. I don't blame you, though I do think this could actually work in our favor..." He trailed off, looking thoughtful, a bit ragged from Echosplash's unfortunate passing. "Then we will see, if you accomplish that or not." Axel nodded firmly, casting the tom a critical look, before he nodded his head over to Revy and Holly. "Go join them. We'll be leaving as soon as I gather a few more." |
