Trace nodded at Giovanni and watched Alix sprint away. "She's your problem now." He growled. Before Giovanni could respond the bengal sprinted away, running into the shadows. He had a guilty feeling nagging him, as if what he did to Alix wasn't right. He pushed the thought away and kept walking.

Giovanni nodded. "Problem? Oh, please. I never met a she-cat I didn't like- and I've met over a hundred." He ran off after Alix, laughing. His day was going great- what fun he was having already and it was only sun-high! ( neb: I would like to actually, I haven't used him for a while now)

Alix tried to run faster, but it was no use.

Giovanni laughed. "See, Alix? All of those toms will betray you anyways, so you might as well stick with me." He was still a threat, but not a serious one- he was grinning and laughing like he had just received a brilliant joke. He was having fun now- between all the romance he encountered there were the much more exciting adventure parts! The ones where he could really experiment with anything. For it never took him long to get bored.
(Alright, I'll start then) The brown spotted tabby wasn't Giovanni- but he sure looked like it, other than his deeper voice and short height. He was, of course, Rabbit- the lowly servant of the aforementioned cat. He hated the costume he was in- not only did it case him to almost be lynched by a mob of angry she-cats, it was also highly uncomfortable, its rough stitching scraping and irritating the many scratches he had on him. He was tired, hungry, and extremely sore- and the fact the cats had chased him out of Maplewood park didn't help matters. He was just lurking around the alleyways around the park- waiting for his master to come back to him and end the nightmare he had gotten himself in- although if the rascal was killed, that'd be fine too. He scratched at a biting flea. "I have to get away from that hound of a master-" His words were cut off by seeing a blur of Giovanni whiz past in the park, which was across the street from where he was now- "There he goes now, the fool. Look at the indifference in his face," he said to nobody but himself. Yes, himself- the only friend of his that he could recall. But something else was in him- the desire to be Giovanni. While he did hate Giovanni for the more obvious reasons, he also hated him for something else- envy.

Alix finally stopped and started to openly cry. She collapsed on the ground. "What are you going to do to me?" She said, feeling weak and terrified and betrayed and hate-filled.

Red had been roaming the streets for quite some time now, not wanting to return to the abandoned nest. She had taken to her old abode in Cutthroat Corner, and had needed some time to think. Tonight the ginger shecat went down a new route, deciding to, as the younger cats say "spice things up a bit." By no means was Red old, but she didn't keep up with the times. A sigh escaped her lips as she continued walking. Looking up, she noticed an old friend, now turned foe. "Rabbit. What a pleasure surprise." She meowed nonchalantly.

"Simple. You will be my mate, easy as that. Nothing more, nothing less," explained Giovanni. To Giovanni, that was the ultimate prize of the game- he was being respected by someone. And the more cats he could get to respect him- the better. He loved the idea of she-cats trusting him when he declared them his mate- he found it gave him a wicked sense of power.

Rabbit knew the disguise was wearing off now- he shook it off, revealing all the cuts and scratches he had, most of them still bleeding. "Just when I thought the day couldn't get worse- great, now I'll be ripped open as well," he mumbled to himself under his breath. By this point, he hated almost all company out of severe paranoia. He was visibly shaking. "Good afternoon, Red," he said in a less sardonic tone, backing away slowly. Sure, he still had feelings for Red- but those feelings were overshadowed by fear. His eyes glanced around for some method of escape, but it was apparent he was beginning to give up by now.

"Backing away from me so soon? Dear Rabbit I would have thought you wanted to stay and talk for awhile. Alas, silly me. " She stared at him for a moment. Her hard glare became a bit sympathetic. "Your scratches hurt don't they?" Red meowed softly, almost under her breath. It wasn't meant to be heard aloud, no weakness could be shown from Red.

"I would- it's just- listen. Signore Giovanni and I are starved- I haven't eaten in seven days, he hasn't eaten in three. He swindled me into dressing up as each other, so while he's getting away with everything in my name, I'm off being almost murdered by a mob. I've almost gotten used to the scratches hurting already, though," he explained, cleaning a wound on his shoulder and scratching at yet another flea. "It's been rather rough for the both of us recently. I've been trying to quit being his servant, but I'm very easily bribed." Yes, it was that- but he had become bound to Giovanni- he had no idea how to live and fend for himself on his own, and freedom meant death.

"Don't mention that scum's name in my presence!" Red spat, eyes ablaze. For a moment she thought about striking Rabbit across the face for even mentioning Giovanni's name but that felt wrong, but since when did she care about morale? While Rabbit spoke, she began to calm down, and nodded along to his story. "If your so hungry why don't you try and hunt for yourself?" She challenged.

Rabbit was obviously caught off-guard by her initial response, but seemed to not be as scared as she went on. "He'd beat me up or even kill me if I were to get food without getting anything for him. And we can't find anything- either- we've seen what the poisoning does to cats. If it weren't for the poisoning, I'd definitely find something and hunt it."

Red scoffed. Here was a cat too scared to hunt for his own food. Either that or he was unable to. For a moment Red was lost in thought before blurting out. "You could always run, you know." She offered no explanation on this statement and just stared at Rabbit.

Rabbit shook his head. "Freedom equals death for me- I only know the lifestyle of a servant, as I was never taught anything more. And there are far too many cats out there who'd kill me on sight- many cats are mad at me because of who I work for. Besides, I'd never be of any use anyway," he said in a rather pessimistic, bleak tone. He knew he was absolutely pathetic- a cat too afraid to do anything but follow around a lady-killing half-manchild half-unnerving threat like a child's old, worn pull toy. But by this point, he really didn't care all that much- he knew he would never amount to anything more than that

Alix hissed. "Your mate? What would I do as your mate?"

"Oh, just all the usual things a mate does- follow their beloveds around and hold them up like some kind of idol. As I said- nothing more and nothing less." Giovanni laughed a bit, although his throat was getting hoarse from laughing. This was simply how the game went- back and forth, constantly having respect from all different cats of all different kinds.

"But I don't love you," Alix hissed. "And last time I checked, I don't love you. And don't mates usaully have kits? I don't exactly want to get pregnant, and I don't think you want to be a father."

"I'm not that kind of mate- not all mates have kits, you know. I just like the respect and trust that goes along with the relationship," Giovanni continued to explain. "And on the bit that you don't love me- I know how to change opinions." He tilted his head. "Any more questions or concerns or whatnot?"

(Whoops I fell asleep.)
Red sighed and shook her head. "To think I once offered you freedom. How could you have rejected that for this lifestyle you have now?" The fierce she-cat was unusually calm, and sat with her tail curled around her legs. "You were offered a chance Rabbit, a chance to be free." Her voice was low, and she stared him in the eyes.

Giovanni ignored the bit where she told him she didn't love her. "How long? Well, however long fate and I say." He decided that it was best to simply tell her his schemes-had couldn't foil himself now.
"The thing is, Red... I'm afraid of it. Afraid of everything. I've kinda given up on myself over it, so I don't bother to change anything. The fear has controlled me- just as it did to my mother and to my sisters and to many cats I've known. I try sometimes, but I know it is of no use. And that is why I rejected your offer- I had given up not on you, not on freedom, but myself." He wasn't bothering to clean some of his wounds now- he was busy talking to Red and explaining himself. You might as well give up on me too," he meowed, his tone much more sad than cynical now. "I would be of no use to you." That was it- his dreams of being his own cat, being Giovanni even, were only childish hopes- nothing more.

Giovanni lingered for a bit, biting his lower lip. "Unless I don't," he said, mumbling something under his breath afterward about what cat must have told her this. He would find a way to get her- he was sure of it.

Annie and Stormie ;; The City
When the cat said "Three", Annie pulled at the mesh as hard as she could. After a few moments, she thought she heard a faint snapping sound, and she wasn't sure if that was the mesh or her claws breaking, but she kept on pulling.

The wires snapped, and Stormie was off like the bullet of a gun. He bolted for the streets, making his way down towards the abandoned twoleg nest. It was the most familiar thing he had in this brutal environment. Now he would have to learn to survive without human contact.

Annie ;; The City
When the mesh ripped, leaving Annie stumbling back from pulling so hard, she saw the cat dart away from the corner of her eye. "H-hey! Where are you going?" she asked, startled, although part of her knew that he probably wasn't planning on staying. And he didn't even say 'thank you', she mumbled inwardly. Figures.

(could have sworn i sent my reply. evidently not)
"You are the most depressing cat I've ever spent time with." Red mused. Her tone became softer. "Rabbit you realized when I offered you to come with me, I would have taught you, helped you learn how to hunt and fight for yourself. The two of us could easily take on Giovanni." At this point Red didn't know why she kept going, but she did. "You have no reason to be afraid, even if Giovanni threatens to kill you." For a moment she paused. "I give you the same offer as before, take it or leave it."
