Introduction You were born under the stone roof of the temple and lived under the shade of the leaves. Seeing the sky was extra. Light and rain still made it down, dappling the leaves and dirt, but it was the only thing you really saw from the sky. Through the shifting leaves you might catch a glance of the blue sky or the stars, but it didn't really matter. You have lived under the shelter all your life; you would die under the shelter of the leaves, vines, and branches, not under the sky. It was a fact. Of course, you had heard the stories. Some elders would claim, until their teeth fell out, that cats ready did live up near the sky. They even went as far to say that there was a whole other clan up there, traveling along the vines and branches. You indulged yourself sometimes. When no one was looking, you would look up into the dense and twisted world above you and try to catch any sign of their existence. Nothing. You thought it was futile. You convinced yourself there was nothing up there. At least until they fell out of the sky. Turns out, there was cats who traveled in the trees. There was a whole clan up there. A whole clan of normal cats, no wings despite what some elders may have said, but they did seem odd. It was a rocky start. Many didn't see eye to eye. There was almost a full blown war on your paws. However, they managed to unite into an unsteady peace as the rain stopped and the world started to get a lot hotter and dryer. Both clans are now, both oddly together and separate, trying to survive. Though tension is rising every day. Rules One; The good o' follow the forum rules. Don't break them. Two; Be active. You have two weeks to return if you have not warned me about leaving. Three; No unrealistic/perfect characters. This is a simple one. Your character can not be the best at everything or have wings/rainbow eyes. Four; Please use the best grammar and spelling you can. Also, don't just put down one line of text. A short answer might be necessary once in a while, but defiantly not always. Five; Don't spam and be respectful. Six; Any orientation and identity is allowed here. Please find a new rp if you don't feel comfortable with this.

-x-x-x- About this rp First thing, this rp obviously has a plot and all that. To sum it up, OwlClan, the cats previously in the trees, and JaguarClan, the clan of the underbrush, has joined together this dry season in the jungle. This is because of the harsh season both clans are experiencing and the dwindling numbers. OwlClanners make camp in JaguarClan's camp because it was easier to move the clan down than to teach the Jaguarclanner's how to live in the trees. The OwlClanners still go up to hunt, but they sleep in JaguarClan's camp and share prey. The peace is unsteady and who knows what will happen as things slowly start to unravel and the wet season draws near. Do the clans break into infighting? Do they manage to make it through?
Territory Weather It is the dry season. Rain is very rare and the earth is getting dry. The rivers are lower and some waterfalls no longer flow as strong or at all. The territory of these two clans overlap almost completely. Not that it really matters. Along with these two living in different levels of the rainforest, they don't really have borders. For miles, there aren't twolegs or really anything besides the forest. Kittypets are basically unheard of along with loners and rogues, and other animals wouldn't respect the border. Instead, they pour their energy into crossing and hunting in the wild land. It would be nearly impossible to describe the rainforest without getting lengthy. It is ever changing and diverse. One part of the forest have trees towering into the sky but then, a couple pawsteps further, there are thin, sturdy trees with long branches added to the mix. Most of the time, the understory is thick, filled with shrubs, leafy plants, ferns, and small trees. The forest floor is soft with some decomposing leaves and other things. The trees are an endless mix of shapes and sizes. Of course, the rainforest breaks some of these general features. Spirit grove To the south west is a rather odd part of the rainforest. The understory is less crowded and has mostly short plants. This change is caused by the trees growing here in abundance. The kapok tree is one of the trees that breaks through the canopy. The trunk is massive and tall. Its branches start lower than most, but it can depend on the tree. The lowest branches on some are sprouting in the middle of the canopy while some start in the middle of the understory. Either way, JaguarClan strongly believes the trees' spirits are the greatest, wisest cats. Most cats will be buried near this area or even underneath the trees in hope the spirits in the tree will help their loved one find their place in the spirit world.
Starpool To the north, near the wet season camp, is the spiritual place for Owlclanners. The Starpool is a shallow pool formed by a waterfall, that the Medicine cat visit every full moon. In the middle of the Starpool sits the Starstone. It is a large silver star shaped rock that cats sleep with their heads on to communicate with Starclan. The water The water around the rainforest is all fresh and moving. To the north is several small waterfalls in the mountainous region. There is one notably large one though. It is called The Jaguar's Purr after the lulling crashing sound of the water. It feeds into the river that cut through the territory. The wide, deep river runs through the territory with wide curves. The water moves slowly during the dry season, but is almost deadly in the wet season. At one point, the river splits but then reconnects not too far along. It creates a little island. The JuaguarClanners will just to go to the nearest or preferred body of water to drink, but the OwlClanners will often drink from the moss or go to the waterfall. Stone forest The twoleg ruins are less impressive now, covered in dirt, crumbing, and taken back by nature, but they have more of a mystical feel now. Most of the roofs and some of the walls have crumbled and trees and plants as started to grow. Not too much is left and parts are separated by the rainforest. This is a good location for moss and has about as much prey as other parts of the forest. Young JuguarClannners and their mentors will come here to train. JaguarClan camp JaguarClan has a stone temple as their camp. The shape makes it look like a pyramid. There are many lemongrass plants around the temple and two sitting outside the doorway. This hides the cat scent and keeps away the bugs. The temple has a large stone platform it sits on, so ten stone steps lead up into the doorway. Inside, it is fairly large. There are dens to the side for each rank. The den are all made out of vines and wood. The warrior's den, the largest, is to the right, next to the doorway. The apprentices' den is on the other side of the doorway and it is just a big smaller. The nursery and shaman's den is on the other side of the camp. The shaman's den is a bit smaller than the rest, but the nursery is just as large as the apprentice den. The leader's den is a couple foxlengths away from the shaman's, on the east wall and can just fit three cats in. The elders' den is on the middle of the west wall, far away enough they don't complain about the meows from kits or the apprentices chatter. The fresh kill pile is in the middle. OwlClan camp Unlike the JaguarClan's camp, this clan has two camps, one for the wet season and one for the dry season. In the wet season, the cats hide in a cave in the northern part of their territory. The entrance is small and not very noticeable. It is even in the middle of the rocky terrain where a cat can only reach it by climbing a tree. The cave has a steep slope upwards before leveling out into a cavern. The cavern is dry and just a bit warm. There are some columns scattered around the edge and a few in the middle and the celling and walls are mostly smooth with some bumps and cracks. There are no dens and cats usually make their nest where they want. Only the medicine cat has an assigned spot and that is next to the hole that keep the herbs. There is no rule against moving to the medicine cat though. In the dry season, the cats will migrate back to their camp which is almost in the middle of their hunting area. Their camp is four close trees. Their branches are intertwined so some cats can lay down and cross as much as five branches. There is four hollow trees used as dens. They look like what owls use to nest in. These dens are used for the nursery, elders' den, herbs, and the fresh kill. All of the other cats will sleep on the branches. -x-x-x-

-x-x-x- Traditions JaguarClan These cats believe in spirits. They think everything living has a spirit. This is why they have a shaman instead of a spirit. The shaman is expected to communicate with the spirits of the rainforest to grant them a good season and protection every three moons. They are also expected to communicate with the dead and read signs. Shamans are highly revered. When an apprentice is ready to become a warrior, they have to pass the normal hunting and fighting tests. After they are deemed worthy, they are blessed by the shaman and given special herbs. Silently, along with their mentors, they make their way to the Spirit grove. There, they sleep under one of the trees while their mentor watches over them. If they awake, most of the do, they go back to the clan and receive their names. For the rest of the night, they watch over the clan, still in silence. When the dry season is over, aka when it rains so hard it floods, a celebration with be held. In the dry season, the plants receive more sun and they draw up water from the underground, so they are brighter than ever. The clan gathers flowers and other bright plants and decorates the clan. They feast and share tongues, relaxing until their eyes start to droop. The shaman then blesses the wet season before the clan sleeps.
OwlClan These cats believe in StarClan.
Kits are very rare in OwlClan. Only two, maybe three, litters make it through the rainy season. Litters are smaller as well. Perhaps it's the lack of larger prey or just the smaller frame most cats have. It could also be the lack of herbs available. Either way, kittens are protected by the clan. Queens eat first, no questions. They also get feather nests as it is believed bird feathers bring good luck. Also, feathers are soft and comfy.
When an apprentice becomes a warrior, they have to pass the usual hunting and fighting test, but also retrieve a feather. It doesn't matter what type of feather, but it has to be found. Most believe StarClan will leave a feather if an apprentice is to become a warrior. They have until sundown. The apprentice will choose where to place the feather. Their mentor will then use sap to stick the feather to that spot. Then, under the stars, the leader will name the apprentice. The clan then celebrates with a feast before going to sleep. The new apprentices stay up the rest of the night for the traditional vigil.
Found feathers are signs of luck. A cat might go searching for them to give them some luck or to give a cat they know some luck. If a cat was sick or seemed to be feeling down, someone might give them a feather. Not always for sad reasons. If a cat fancied another cat or if a queen was having kits, a feather is considered a good gift.
Appearances
JaguarClan Most of these cats have a certain look to them. They are compact and stocky. They are very well-muscled making them powerful opponents in close combat. Their legs are shorter than the average cat, but thick and sturdy. Their tails tend to be shorter as well. What they lack in the speed department, they usually make up in the strength. Their looks are mostly greys, blacks, browns, and some dark gingers. White cats are very rare. Patches, stripes, and any kind of general marking is common among the clan.
OwlClan Owlclanners are built for speed rather than strength. They have longer legs, lean bodies, and are typically small. Some break the small rule. Though most have long, powerful legs made for climbing and jumping, and most have lean bodies that are easy to weave through the jungles vines and branches.
Their fur comes in many different shades. They still tend towards the darker colors, like brown and black, but there are more gingers and greys. White are still rare, but some cats have splashes or white marks. Patterns are just as common, but there are solid colors as well.

-x-x-x- Joining If you make two cats of one gender, try to make a cat of another gender. I wouldn't be too strict on this, but just try. Also, keep in mind the environment. This is not a woodland or a moor, suffixes like mouse and oak will not be accepted. You can always ask for any name suggestions. Do NOT make your character have a history of being an outsider without talking to me first.
With family, keep in mind these clans have only been together for a moon or two, so unless your cat is a kit, it would be almost impossible for them to have parents from both of the clans. Ask if you would like your character to have any relations(siblings, parents, etc.).
Do not make any OwlClan apprentices.

-x-x-x- Brown JaguarClan Green OwlClan Allegiances Leaders Shadespirit - Tom - rped by Frozenthorn He looks like your average JaguarClanner, short limbed with a compact and powerful build. He has broad shoulders and thick legs. His eyes and pelt are nothing to talk about either. His eyes are just a golden color, no blemishes or other colors. He has a dark grey tabby pelt meaning a base color of dark grey with black stripes. The only thing that really sets him out is the large scar on his right flank. It is a messy, rough rectangle shape like something bit and tore his skin, which is what happened. A jaguar got him on a patrol. Shaderiver was not named after that fight, but rather is calmness. He can be very calm and patient, one of those who waits before striking. This is useful in his daily life, but it also makes him a bit too cautious. He likes to analyze things and can he very curious, but sometimes he can get caught up in his own world or stuck trying to figure out the best way. It has lost more than one piece of prey before. His people skills, or rather cat skills, are unheard of, literally, Not many cats speak of that part of him. He can hold a conversation, but would rarely input unless asked apon. Shaderiver doesn't like to relax and talk unless he is in camp and relaxed. Most of the time, this tom is the cat version of a bundle of nerves, even if he appears stoic.
Dawnstar - She-cat - rped by Moonblazesunstrike A lithe she cat with a glossy, pale gray pelt and pale green eyes. She has a white belly, muzzle and nose. Dawnstar is a quiet cat and she finds that peace must never be broken although she will fight if she thinks it is for a noble cause.
Deputies Sweetsong - She-cat - rped by Crazy Train Red, black, and white tortoiseshell she-cat with clear amber eyes. She has longer fur than most cats in her clan and a small frame, though she still has the strong muscles and short limbs customary to her clan. She is a very kind-hearted she-cat, and seems more suited to being a queen than a deputy. That’s only at first impression though, because the rest of the she-cat is pure warrior. She has a quick wit and a clever tongue, as well as a surprisingly gentle, soothing voice, and does her best to avoid physical conflict by talking. If that doesn’t work though, she is by no means at a disadvantage. Her small size can be just as much of an advantage as a disadvantage- she can’t win with brute force, but she is very agile and uses a fighting technique much like that of a striking snake.
Shaman (JaguarClan exclusive) Snowfall - She-cat - rped by Diamond Soul She has snowy white fur, and frosty blue eyes.
Shaman's apprentice open
Medicine cat (OwlClan exclusive)
Medicine cat apprentice Closed until medicine cat spot is claimed
Warriors Otterclaw - Tom - rped by Frozenthorn Otterclaw has an interesting pelt for the basic JaguarClanner. Otterclaw's fur is ticked, meaning the fur has many different shades. His belly, chest, and inside legs are all a bright russet while the rest of his body is shades of redish brown with his back having the darkest shade. His tail tip is the only part that looks like a true dark brown. His eyes are a coppery gold. It is really his rounded ears and slightly short legs that give him his name. Otterclaw could pass as a normal cat. He is friendly and quiet enough to be in the background yet not have any cat think of him badly. That is until a cat actually starts talking to him. He is rather odd and does odd things. He will talk to himself or do out of place things. Despite being friendly, he isn't too generous or selfless. He isn't one to share his prey without a thought or a good hunting place. He can be possessive of the little things, prey, nest, and the little treasures he finds. Yes, like a kit, Otterclaw is attracted to pretty little prizes. He will stuff them into his nest or under a root if on the move. Despite being out of place, he isn't really sensitive. He doesn't care what others think of him. He can get offended, not very easily, but never really hurt. He is good at laughing it off and calling the cat silly.
Nightwhisper - She-cat - rped by Frozenthorn Nightwhisper is a lot more plan than most cats. She doesn't have a pattern on her fur to help her blend in. Her fur is just a simple dark brown. Her fur is also course and short. It doesn't keep the warmth in much. Unlike Otterclaw, she has large ears, but she does have those short, sturdy legs. Having taken after her father, she is a bit of a selfish and ditzy cat. She does what she wants, when she wants. It is rare for her to do something she doesn't want to do for someone else. Not that you would want her to do something for you. She can get off track very easily. Despite that, she does remain calm and steady usually and have simple solutions to problems. She is one not to overthink things. She is also very friendly if the other cat doesn't push her or is rude.
Coatitail - She-cat - rped by Moonlight Coatitail resembles a Coati in every way, the stripy tail, slightly rounded ears, and thin, slender faces. She is a very lean shecat, with powerful muscles hidden by her thick fur. She is very energetic and acts much like a kit, however is a great mentor and fighter. She was born and raised in the clan.
Moonshadow - She-cat - rped by Crazy Train Stunningly beautiful short-haired chinchilla she-cat with striking, frosty blue eyes. The only mar in her flawless appearance is a collection of scars on her belly. She is a handsome specimen of a cat and she knows it, keeping her silvery fur clean and pristine and wearing her confidence proudly. She is a bit flirty, but not as much as you would expect. Rather, her confidence makes her less frightened of telling it like it is, and sometimes her blunt truthfulness can wear on the cats around her. However, you also know she’ll never lie to you… Well, almost never. Any questions about her past relationship with Stonestrike are answered with a freezing glare and silence. In her relationship with Stonestrike, he would complain about her telling the truth. In retaliation, she began insulting him, acting as though she was telling the truth but really just making up flaws that he didn’t have. When he began physically attacking her, her verbal attacks became worse, but she refused to resort to fighting him back. After he left wounds deep enough to scar her, and her words had driven him to tears, they broke off the relationship.
Stonestrike - Tom - rped by Crazy Train Stonestrike is a massive, broad, muscular slate grey tom with bright golden eyes and large paws. His personality is just as daunting as his appearance- quiet, judging, and lethal. He is a tom of few words, and the words he does say are rarely friendly. He doesn’t like verbal conflict, and prefers going straight to violence. It isn’t that he lacks the intelligence- he just lacks control over his claws. This was part of the problem with his past relationship with Moonshadow. When she began insulting him, he couldn’t control his anger, and lashed out at her, repeatedly. They both seemed to start fights equally, but he almost always ended them with his claws unsheathed. After their relationship ended, he swore off of becoming close with another cat, both because of the effect her words had on him and because of his fear of hurting another of his clanmates.
Stoneleap - Tom - rped by Frozenthorn Stoneleap looks nothing like a stone. He is a chocolate tabby, a cat with brown fur and darker brown stripes. Even his eyes, which are an amber, aren't stone-ish. He has a body for running and leaping, not so much fighting or being study. He has long, powerful legs and a lean body. His fur is short and thick, but sheds and becomes thin in the dry season. Even his personality isn't stone-like. Like Batwing, he is a worry wart, except he doesn't fix it. He lets the worry fester inside until he does something ridiculous. It doesn't even have to be related to what he is worrying about. Though because he can shove it aside, he can focus on other things and multitask. He is fairly independent and tends to be reclusive without knowing. He likes his quiet and doesn't mind exploring to find a niche for himself. Stoneleap is selectively loyal. He is loyal to his family before the clan. Even friends are after family. As he sees it, he lost his parents, and he isn't about to loose his siblings or niece.
Batwing - She-cat - rped by Frozenthorn Batwing is an interesting looking cat. The most noticeable thing is her large canines which stick out. Her fur is a dark brown with her fur getting shades darker around her face, paws, and tail. Her pale blue eyes stand out against the dark fur around her face. She has a pretty narrow face and the rest of her body is lean as well. Her short fur doesn't help with her thin, small size. Really, she is average size for her clan, but she is still annoyed most things in the rainforest are larger than her. In the end, Batwing is a worry wart. She is quiet easy to distract, but easy to worry which can be a distraction. It is a double edged sword. She is one to fix things though. Batwing is restless in fixing a problem, even if it requires a couple of days to fix. Though she can get easily frustrated and confused if more than one thing is thrown on her. She will snap or seal herself away from everyone if she is feeling overwhelmed. Though, this isn't her constant state. When unpressured, she can be confidant and joke around, and sometimes even flirt.
Silverpool - She-cat - rped by Diamond Soul She is a silver she cat with dark grey stripes on her back. She has icy blue eyes.
Breezeshadow - Tom - rped by Crazy Train Tall, dark brown tom with slightly shaggy fur and deep, dark brown eyes. He has long legs and could be described as having a young, rugged handsomeness to him. He is a very sweet, kind-hearted cat and generally assumes the best of those around him. He is very loyal to his clan, strives to always stand with what’s right, even if it means going against someone he cares about. Due to his compassionate nature though, he often questions what his true morals are- family or justice. His trust in the good of those around him is heartening for others, but it also sets him up for disappointment. His father died before he was born, and his mother was killed by a Jaguar shortly after he became an apprentice. He was the only one of his litter to survive kithood, with his brother dying shortly after the kitting and his sister being taken by a weasel when they were 3 moons old.
Apprentices Beepaw - She-cat - rped by Frozenthorn Beepaw is a dark cream tabby. Her base color is a light cream and her classic stripes are a darker shade. The stripes are very close shade-wise to her base color so they almost blend. Her eyes are a bright amber. Really, this cats is all legs. She is lean with slightly long fur that is poofy, which makes her look larger, but her legs make her look ridiculous. She will grow into them, but right now, she is an awkward, clumsy apprentice. Beepaw is a pretty friendly cat. she likes to give close friends little head bumps or tail taps. Really, she is mostly dreamy and living in her own world, but is friendly towards cats that are smart and non-clingy. She is fairly loud around friends too, but almost always around the wrong time. She has to be told to be quiet in the trees. Not that many older or higher ranking cats would know this. Some may know about the excitable she-cat with that playful gleam in her eyes, but it is rarely directed at them. To put it simply, she is scared of authority. She knows they hold power over her and she hates punishment. Any sort of authority figure will get a quiet she-cat. Dawnpaw will try to follow the rules, but tends to bend easily to other's suggestions, especially friends. She tends to find herself attracted to other she-cats.
Moonpaw - She-cat - rped by moonblazesunstrike Thickset she-cat silver paws, tail tip, ears, throat and belly with a spot of sliver around her right eye. The rest is pale gray she also has long fur and is kind of big for her age. She feels that she just has to do her best. She loves fishing and is very good at it but she finds hunting on ground harder. She find battle useless but she will fight with skill if it means to protect her clanmates and clan. She finds talking about her feelings difficult and does not talk that much unless asked.(but is very understanding) she loves getting moss for her clan and is often found choosing birds from the fresh kill pile so she could get the down for queens and kits.
Frostpaw - Tom - rped by Diamond Soul A tom with whitish-grey fur. He has dark grey spots on his chest and underbelly. He has white spots along his tail. His eyes are strangely yellow.
Firepaw - She-cat - rped by Crazy Train Pretty, slender reddish golden she-cat with large sky-blue eyes. She has longer, feathery fur on her tail than her body and long legs. She is spunky, fiery, and ready to shoot out of a canon in a second whenever the inspiration takes her. She is also rather loud in expressing her opinions, and gets in trouble often for her sassy comebacks. Behind her tough-girl facade though, is a strong loyalty to her clan and a love for those closest to her- she would give her life for both. She calls herself bi, despite never having liked anyone, because she believes that gender would not be a barrier to her with either gender.
Sunpaw - Tom - rped by Crazy Train Tall golden tom with dark blue eyes and a handsome face. He has strong muscles packed into his lean, long-legged form, and an exceptionally long tail. He is a generally friendly tom, though not nearly as outgoing as his sister. He enjoys light-hearted conversations, and gets uncomfortable when verbal conflict arises. His true discomfort though, comes when emotions are involved. He has a hard time expressing negative or sad feelings, and even if it was easy, he wouldn’t want to. He welcomes being a shoulder to cry on, but refuses the roles being switched around.
Queens and kits Twilightfur - She-cat - rped by moonblazesunstrike She is a dusky black she-cat with long fur. she has green eyes with a tint of blue. She is mainly kind and understanding but when someone is doing something wrong she can be quite firm. she loves playing with kits and will always find different ways to play. When her mate(Sunheart) died in a clan battle she found out that she was expecting kits, during her time in the nursery she found that caring for kits and queens were just what she loved.
Fastkit - Tom - rped by moonblazesunstrike He is a tom with golden fur. He has green eyes. He has trouble with his giant feet and is often trying to keep his balance. He acts goofy around everyone expect his family and his crush. He tries to race but he almost always trips and falls over.
Duskkit - She-cat - rped by moonblazesunstrike She is a dusky black she cat with short fur. She has blue eyes, and a very long tail. She loves to help around to nursery but she always seems to get her tail stepped on. She can't help but love newborn kittens before they start going after her tail.
Midnightkit - She-cat - rped by moonblazesunstrike She is very large and has pure black fur with one white paw. She has blue eyes with a tint of green. She takes after her mother. She is mainly kind and understanding but when she thinks someone is doing something wrong she can be quite firm. she loves playing with everyone and will always find different ways to play.
Hawkkit - Tom - rped by Diamond Soul He is a brown tom with darker brown stripes. He has amber brown eyes. His mother and father died was raised by the clan.

Welp. I think we should start. Since I hate posting starters for all of my cats, do you have a preference to which cat I start with? )

Stonespirit looked around the camp. It was late enough that most cats were out and eating prey, but early enough for them to not be awake enough to fight. It was a time the young leader cherished. It was also the time he visited the shaman. Now that the spirits had been silent for moons, the leader was starting to visit the shaman every day, just hoping for even a scrap of news. He would take a sign of destruction. The dark tabby padded into the den and coughed to alert the shaman of his presence. "Anything new?" He asked.

I don't like having anyone of loner or rouge decent because the clans are pretty much cut off from anything else. It would be very rare for there to be an outsider. Would you mind changing her history? Unless her mother was an old clan cat who just didn't like clan life or something. )

OwlClan Moonpaw | Thickset she-cat silver paws, tail tip, ears, throat and belly with a spot of sliver around her right eye. The rest is pale gray she also has long fur and is kind of big for her age. | sunstrike or moonblaze | |She feels that she just has to do her best. She loves fishing and is very good at it but she finds hunting on ground harder. She find battle useless but she will fight with skill if it means to protect her clanmates and clan. She finds talking about her feelings difficult and does not talk that much unless asked.(but is very understanding) she loves getting moss for her clan and is often found choosing birds from the fresh kill pile so she could get the down for queens and kits| she-cat | 11 moons| apprentice| can her warrior name be moonblaze? | Is that better?)) (Hi sun)
