Stagleap quickly regretted asking to come on the patrol when Thunderfall snorted. He wondered if he had done something wrong that had angered Thunderfall, like maybe he spoke too loud. He'd have to ask Honeyblossom later, but for now, he trotted over to Littlespark. He didn't know her very well, but he certainly felt safer walking next to her than he would walking next to Thunderfall. Why is he so mad at Echocavern? he wondered, but did not speak his concerns. Instead, he silently followed the other cats.

Littlespark ignored Thunderfall's snort at the her words and gab at the words 'keep up', like she had ever been a slow feline. She glanced over towards Stagleap, feeling twinge of happiness as another warrior joined them and offered the young tom a warm smile. She flickered her tail, dipping her head to Thunderfall, "That sounds reasonable," she meowed in a light tone, giving the older tom a sidelong glance. She had an itching that Thundefall and Sapphiresky were close but Littlepsark never had much to do with any rumours within camp, so she had no idea how close they could have been. She couldn't but feel bad for Slypaw, having a snappy mentor during this difficult time couldn't be easy. She briefly thought that Thunderfall should pause his duties but she wasn't going to be the cat to tell him that. She has only ever spoken to him a few times in her life in a personal setting.
Littlespark shook her head, dismissing the thoughts and glanced at Stagleap, with bright eyes. "Come along!" she meowed to him, "I bet I can catch more prey than you," she couldn't help but tease. She turned on his paws and followed the deputy out of camp. It would at least help the tension die down, since Thunderfall was in a mood and Stagleap looked a little concerned.

Stagleap ducked his head when Littlespark turned to him, but quickly raised it again when he found she was being friendly. He was glad that Littlespark on the patrol with him, because Thunderfall didn't seem to be in the mood for conversation and Stagleap was always awkward around apprentices. Littlespark would lighten things up, and he was glad to have a bit of friendly banter. "I doubt it!" Stagleap meowed to her with a friendly grin. He tried to match her confident voice, "Prepare to lose your bet, Littlespark." He ended with a laughing tone, because he didn't want her to think he was being mean. That would make the patrol less fun.

{{ Hello everyone!! would anyone be up to roleplaying? c: }}

( I am always up for roleplay o3o I have Sandpaw, Russetgrowl and Proudfalcon open ^^; feel free to choose whoever you want to rp with. )
Littlespark wrinkled her nose as she glanced over her shoulder at Stagleap, "I will show you up," she retorted with a soft laugh. Her eyes were brimming with amusement at Stagleap's taunts back at her, she was happy that the young tom was willing to interact. He typically was more on the quiet side. Littlespark considered herself a decent hunter, she could definitely beat Stagleap at their little competition. "Oh please, I never lose," she couldn't help but smirk at the younger tom. She was bluffing but Stagleap didn't need to know that. She had lost at hunting competitions before, mostly to her brothers. It was ridiculous; however, Proudfalcon cheated that one time when he found a burrow of water voles. She had caught a rabbit but it was quantity over quality type of contest.

{{ Sorry for taking forever to reply. I had dance class >< }}
Stagleap heart nearly skipped a beat when Littlespark wrinkled her nose; he quickly assumed that she was doing it out of annoyance or distaste, which would indicate that Stagleap had done something wrong socially. He held back a sigh of relief when she laughed. He was glad that she was reacting good naturedly to his banter, but he paused for a moment too long while he tried to figure out an answer. "Is there a prize for the winner?" he asked playfully, although he regretted asking near instantly, least Littlespark was not up for a competition with something to lose. He ducked his head and glanced away.

( You are fine ^^
Littlespark paused in her steps as she heard Stagleap's question. She turned to face the young tom with a laugh, "I didn't think of one" she meowed. "What do you have in mind, Stagleap?" she asked him with with curious tint to her meow. It wasn't often that someone actually asked something of her like that. It would make their little hunting competition a little more fun.

( hey fog! How was Pride?
Oh yeah! That also reminds me, my friend is getting married next Sunday and I am leaving on Wednesday to visit her. She lives in Appalachian Mountains part of Ohio so I probably will not have wifi at her house. ^^; I will try to response on my phone but mobile version of the forums annoys me, so yeah. )

</div> Stagleap had not expected her to ask him to make the challenge. He hadn't thought the question through: he thought that she would propose an idea, but he couldn't think of a non -awkward sounding way to ask her to make the prize. He thoughtfully tilted his head and then suggested a bit quietly, "Um, maybe the winner could pick their prey before the other one does?" That was the first thing that he thought of, off the top of his head. He was quick to follow it up - "Or the loser has to make a fresh nest for the winner? Or something?" he ended weakly.

Littlespark couldn't help but let out a little giggle at Stagleap's reaction. She swished her tail, "Either one sounds fine to me, Stagleap," she meowed with friendly smile. "Let's go before Thunderfall decides to leave us behind," she meowed with a roll of her eyes, remembering Thunderfall's words of 'keeping up' creeped back into her mind. She turned away from the young tom and padded out of camp to join the rest of the patrol.

Stagleap's ears grew hot at Littlespark's reaction to his pathetic stammering. He ducked his head and was glad when she reminded him of Thunderfall's patrol. He didn't want to be abandoned by them, so he was quick to pick up the pace so that he wouldn't be left behind. "Maybe we'll decide after the compatition is over?" he suggested timidly, only after he was sure that he was close enough to Thunderfall and Slypaw to not be left behind. He slowed down a little bit so that he wasn't walking so close to Littlespark's side, and instead a bit behind her.

Been at work since I got back which is at once great because money but also the WORST.
I saw no bears though I was told that there are some that travel around that area. Mostly saw birds and I threatened a racoon that tried to steal stuff from our campsite. I got only slightly lost but it was fine in the end. So many mosquito bites. Everything itches. No poison ivy tho.

( Hey! And no... I didn't venture too far into the woods lol but I am sure there are a bear or two in the area. Although I figure if they are smart, they will probably be in West Virginia, it's not that huge of a state and it's all mountains. I did see a bunch of deer like usual and birds.
I will try to type up a response for you soon Fox, so we can keep this show on the road. xD I am just tired from working and dealing with one of my co-workers. I always believe in being nice but this boy is pushing my buttons. -headdesk- )

{{ Dang! No one saw any bears; but at least you got to see deer. Sometimes deer visit my backyard and eat grass, but there's only ever two or three of them. And I'm cool with waiting for a while, Blazeheart. I hope your co -worker becomes less annoying. }}

[ Yup. The whitetails mostly just stood along side of the road and watched you drive by, they weren't even worried about moving. Bears would have been cute, even though at the time, I probably would have freaked out if I saw one xD It's doubtful, he's dumb.
I think we were heading to the Mulberry Ridge? Although I could be completely wrong... so we will just go towards the ridge for now cx )
Littlespark swished her tail as she swiftly moved to keep up with Thunderfall and Slypaw. "That sounds good to me," she smiled, glancing over towards Stagleap. "Do we want to have a prey limit or just catch as much as we can?" she asked, flicking her tail as they headed in the general direction of Mulberry Ridge. She briefly wondered if they were going to see Bayouclan across the gorge today or not.

Stagleap struggled a little bit to keep up with Littlespark. He moved at an awkward half -jog, trying to go quickly, but not wanting to run so that he could get to her side -he'd probably trip and fall over his legs and he did not want that. Instead, he followed a fox -length behind her and took a moment to register what she said while he attempted to focus on catching up. "Oh, yeah...I, I think that we should!" He answered her with a confident smile, before it faded as he quickly attempted to finish his sentence -"I mean, we shouldn't have a prey limit. Like, it's more prey for our Clan, so...yeah." He ducked his head and allowed himself to fall a little bit more behind.

"As much as you can catch" Thunderfall rumbled, looking over his shoulder to glare at the other cats. "Come on. Sooner we get to Mulberry Ridge the sooner we can catch prey." He picked up the pace. Today was a relatively clear day, minus the clouds looming in the distance as they rolled steadily closer. "The storm will hit us by nightfall, probably sooner but nightfall latest. Slypaw, can you tell me what kind of storm these clouds are forming– Rain, Thunder or Hail– go." Never let it be said that the perpetually angry tom was lax in his training.

"Ok! Yeah! We can do that, good idea Thunderfall!" Stagleap spluttered anxiously. He had not expected Thunderfall to notice, let alone respond to, Stagleap and Littlespark talking at the back of the patrol. He was glad that he hadn't suggested a prey limit as he had debated, because Thunderfall might've eaten him alive or something and that would be horrifying. I'll just be very, very quiet and Thunderfall will not be angry anymore. Stagleap decided, and firmly set his gaze straight in front of him. He felt embarrassed by his reaction to Thunderfall and was glad that Thunderfall was filling the silence with words, which also made him glad that he was never Thunderfall's apprentice.

( You are fine! I do that all the time. xD I just figured after a couple of days I should give you a like lol )
Littlespark casted a sly glance towards Thunderfall and looked back to Stagleap with a mischievous glance in her eyes. She knew it wasn't the time or place to be playful but this patrol was going to be dreadful without a sense of humour. "Absolutely," she chimed with a puff of her chest like she was trying to be big and mighty. It was hard to say if her words were directed to Stagleap or Thunderfall. Although the mottled ginger she-cat gave the Stagleap a wink before trotting away.

Where is she going? Stagleap wondered with a small tilt of his head. He worried that she might be running away but was calmed when he noticed her winking at him. He smiled back, now getting the idea that she was planning on doing something to tease Thunderfall. He turned his head back to the territory in front of him, but watched her out of the corner of his eye to see what she was going to do. He didn't want to outright look at her least she find it creepy or annoying. He then shifted between sneakily glancing at Thunderfall as well; while not knowing what Littlespark was planning, he wanted to see how Thunderfall would react when Littlespark's plan played out.
