Thunderfall was feeling rather frustrated. This was taking too long. Jaw tightening, he watched Berrysnout peruse through the fresh kill pile from his place by the medicine den. Huffing, he turned and entered, knowing that she would do nothing to stop him. He slinked to the back of the den, and into the sick den, passing through the vines like a fire through dry leaves. He padded over to the still form in the nest, the scent of death hanging in the air like dust in the caldera itself. "Oh Sapphiresky" he sighed, head bowed. He brushed a paw over still forearm, carefully, reverently. "I'm sorry."
"What are you doing in here? I said no visitors. Not until after I've finished my examination." Berrysnout's angry voice snapped Thunderfall out of his thoughts. He stood, stepping back from the body, "I just wanted to say goodbye" he snapped back, teeth bared. "I wanted–" "I know what you wanted, and she's dead. What you wanted, your future with her, is gone" Berrysnout was gentler this time, but she shooed him from the sick den. "I'm sorry for your loss. You'll get your chance for vengeance at the trial." A subtle reminder that he could challenge Echocavern to a Fire Fight, should he want to rest the deputy's ghost that way. Thunderfall nodded stiffly, and stormed from the den.
"Echocavern..." Thunderfall growled out, face twisted with anguish. Claws dug into the ground, and rage fluttered in his heart.

[ Hey Shad!
So far I've only had Thunderfall and Redstar implicate Echo– only because Thunderfall had previously gone to Redstar with his suspicions and accusations. Redstar's let it slop to some apprentices of the accusation only because he can't keep his mouth shut in stress and Thunder is about to start stuff in camp. There is a patrol out rn and Heather and Pheasant are gossiping XD That's where we're at. ]

In the center of camp, Patchedcloud was pacing hard enough to wear a line in the rocky floor. Or at least, he seemed unlikely to do anything else for the end of time. Occasionally his ginger head swung expectantly toward the Bramble Ledge, as if expecting Redstar to appear at any moment and give the announcement. Claws scraped the ground. Patchedcloud knew he should be checking on Lightpaw to see if she was well enough for a little training today, but he wasn't sure he'd be able to drag himself from camp.
He'd heard the rumors.

[ Dead inside from 2 16 hr shifts but I'm HERE (for once). Also adding a few more points of interest to the territory. ]
Marblefoot tilted her head at Thunderfall and his rumblings, frowning. "Echocavern?" she murmured to herself, not making the connection. Until she did. Ears flattening, she resisted the urge to run to the apprentice den. Instead, she saw Patchedcloud, pacing. "Patchedcloud. Go get Lightpaw and take her to train. My baby needs to know how to fight and she can't do that if you're just going to let her sit there" she snapped harshly, padding over to the male.
Squirrelpaw's spine tingled. Somewhere, somehow, her mother was chewing someone out. She just knew it. "Ravenpaw lets go find Aspenleaf and Cinderflake– they'll take us out" she murmured. She looked for any other apprentices who might want to join, or any warriors wanting to go hunting. She needed to do something.
Thunderfall's jaws snapped at those looking at him, "all who wish to go hunting follow me. SLYPAW, you too. We're going to Fire Stone and then Mulberry Ridge for hunting then we'll circle back."

Patchedcloud flattened his ears. "Don't snap at me, Marblefoot. You know full well I can't take your daughter out unless she's feeling up to it, and I was just about to go check." He made his way over to the apprentice den. He shook out his fur roughly against the morning chill. "Don't take your frustrations out on me!"
At her friends words, Ravenpaw snapped from her stupor. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea. I haven't caught a squirrel in days-- do you think they'll let us hunt today?" Maybe they'll take us by that old oak tree, where there's lots of nests. A she-cat could dream.
Slypaw resisted a scowl at his mentor's demand. "Yes, Thunderfall," he obeyed, padding up to the massive tom. He wondered what his mentor had planned for him today.

"It doesn't matter how she's feeling. She needs to be stronger and she would be if you didn't let her waste away." Marblefoot clapped back, following him because she couldn't let sleeping dogs lie. Lightpaw WOULD get up if Marblefoot had her way.
Lightpaw was lightly dozing, shivers running through her ever so often. Camp was usually warm but today it just wasn't doing it's job. It also could be because you're not feeling well she thought with a soft sigh. Rustling at the entrance of the den made her shift so she could see what was coming. Dread pooled in her gut, cutting the nausea for a moment.
"ANYONE ELSE?" Thunderfall was certainly taking after the storms for which he was named, his words loud and echoing in the camp. If there were ever to be a shouting match between him and Redstar, one would be hardpressed to find the winner of who was loudest.

It was a dry storm. No rain as of yet, but the thunderclouds rolled overhead, rumbling like the large monsters on the thunderpath on the western edge of the caldera. Sapphiresky was on a hunting patrol, theoretically. But she swung by the Gorge to have a quick check of the border. Couldn't be too careful, not with those waterlogged rats of the Bayou itching to take their territory. Peering across the wound in the earth, the blue grey cat frowned, blue eyes focused on the soggy earth beyond the border. Rustling came from behind her, she turned to see who was coming. Eyes lighting up with recognition, she called out a greeting, but when they didn't respond she frowned in confusion. "What's the matter–?" she started to ask, but was caught off guard by the paw that lunged for her face. She skittered backwards, feet kicking up the loose rocks at the edge. "What's your problem?" Sapphiresky snapped, teeth bared. Her clanmate smirked, "You're in my way" their statement was blanketed with rage. "In your way?" She didn't understand, and in her confusion she let her guard down. They struck again, teeth snapping. Sapphiresky barely danced away, heart thudding in her chest. She needed to get back to camp, but her opponent was blocking her way. She couldn't get past them, not without opening herself up to more danger. Behind her, she could practically feel the yawning of the gorge ready to swallow her whole if she made a misstep. A flash of lightening distracted her for just a second. Less than that even, but the paw that slammed into her head did not hesitate to knock her low. She attempted to roll away but failed, feeling the sharp claws digging into her pelt and tearing. Her jaw clenched as she withheld a yowl of pain. Her paws scrambled to get a foot hold somewhere, anywhere, trying to push back against her enemy's shoving. The edge, she could feel her back legs slipping over it. Her claws tore into the earth, hold on she thought frantically, don't let go. Another slash of claws, to her throat this time. She couldn't breathe, the copper taste of blood filled her jaws as she gasped. Terrified eyes stared into the unforgiving pair above her. "Why?" Sapphiresky gurgled. Thunder roared overhead as the wind whipped around them. "I told you, you're in my way. And now you won't be" Their claws dug into her paws and with a yank, the earth was no longer under her. Just air. As she fell, Sapphiresky's mind went blank, the last thought running through her mind was that this was a pathetic way to go.
The figure stared down at the broken body at the bottom of the gorge, thinking. Then they turned and disappeared into the undergrowth. Lightening flashed. The deed was done.

( Is alright if Littlespark joins too? c: )
The young feline hummed to herself as she slowly yet neatly groomed her fur. Sharing a nest with her brother didn't smell to go to plan as well as she had hoped. Not that she hoped for much but peaceful sleep would have been nice. Russetgrowl had a tendency to shift around in his nest and he swished her fur all around. She shook her head, letting out a soft purr of amusement as she thought about her clumsy brother.
Littlespark's ears flickered up as she heard Thunderfall's loud voice rang around the cavern. She wrinkled her nose in slight distaste before pushing herself to her paws. She wasn't going to do anything camp besides wallow and fret about the future. This would be a good opportunity to leave camp... even if it was with a moody tom. "You don't mind if I come, do you?" she asked out of politeness as she padded towards Thunderfall and Slypaw. She was leaving camp no matter what Thunderfall's answer was, it would just be comforting being with clanmates opposed to running around the territory with a murder on the loose. The energy within camp was tense and Littlespark was slowly starting to feel uneased by it.

{{ Thank you. I shall have Stagleap come over now }} Stagleap nearly leapt out of his fur when he heard Thundercall's voice. No wonder he has that name! Stagleap thought, tilting his head and quickly flattening his ruffled chest fur. He's so loud! He still felt a little bit startled, but he knew that he should probably join a patrol. He probably already looked bad: sleeping in and all, but he'd look like worse of a warrior if he refused a patrol. He glanced back inside the warriors den to his sisters, but earned no reassurance, so he slowly padded forward. When Littlespark spoke, he felt a little more secure, so he awkwardly ran to get closer and meowed, "Thundercall, could I come as well?" He stopped a few paces behind Littlespark.

Thunderfall snorted at Littlespark and then at Stagleap when the tom joined them. "Keep up and you are welcome. We're going to hunt by Mulberryridge first. I changed my mind about Fire Stone. That's too far from camp and I want to be here if Echocavern decides to show his face." His teeth snapped, a quick movement to display his rage. He wanted this trial to start. He wanted to get this over with but everything was taking too long. Too long and would lose his chance. He can't lose his chance– Sapphiresky is gone and so his opportunities are limited. So, so limited... He grimaced and shoved past his apprentice and Littlespark to head to the entrance. "Come on, we've got to get moving."
