(I mean, I really don't know much about sickness (especially with cats and rabies and etc) but I would think it would take at least a couple days....I'll do some googling and find out ^^" "Animals will not show signs immediately following exposure to a rabid animal. Symptoms can be varied and can take months to develop. Classic signs of rabies in cats are changes in behavior (including aggression, restlessness and lethargy), increased vocalization, loss of appetite, weakness, disorientation, paralysis, seizures and even sudden death." Taken from this I haven't read the Dawn series so I don't know how the Erins portray it in the books, but this is the realistic version of it....)

(I actually left it an unspecified illness, though did mention it could be rabies. I wouldn't actually make it that specifically, because when anyone gets rabies it stays dormant for quite a while, but it could be something similar. If you want, we can make it that Littleear found a piece of prey similar to that a while ago, and this was the second one he found, but decided to tell the leader because this one had been killed by a cat and not some bird disease? And he just so happened to trigger a what I'm going to vaguely say a seizure..?"

(I mean, we could just leave it at unnamed disease? But what would have brought it on? Foreign substance on the territory? Or something else?)

Foreign substance and alot of passing on I guess? Maybe someone from an animal shelter left some syringes outside a mile away, and a bird just so happened to swoop over and check ir out, but I think leaving it an unnamed disease might be for the best, since then we have a bit of freedom to play around with the symptoms and effects, as well as how it spreads? Idk)

(it could be an awful person leaving out poisoned food for animals to eat- mostly wild cats and such not, kinda like jerks do at dog parks)

"What are good moves for escaping if another cat has you?"
The belly-rake was always useful if you were pinned, but you had to be facing up. If they had you by the scruff, then what?
"And it's better to stay on the ground, right?" If they climbed a tree it was less likely they'd come back down in one piece.
~~~~~
Peony had looked away for a moment to talk to Coonface, who seemed to finally calm down, but her attention snapped back towards the screeching apprentice. Her hackles raise and she bursts forward. Peony was ready to bring down any threat to her apprentice. When she sees the apprentice staring at a bird in terror, she soothes her fur down just enough to not further alarm Nightpaw with her own fear.
"Don't touch it, Nightpaw- get away, right now!" She boulders in front of the apprentice and backs up into her to shove her towards Coonface. She hadn't seen prey that was sick like this before. Whatever was wrong with it, she hoped it died a swift death.
It didn't deserve to suffer, and she didn't want it wandering away into some other unsuspecting cats path. "...I think... we should fetch Dawnwish." The medicine cat was so new, and she hadn't had a mentor, but she had come back that day seemingly ready for everything.... she must know what to do about this? Or she would figure something out.
She watches as the bird hops around listlessly before it keeps over and stops moving.
"...We....we should go back to the clan and tell Dawnwish now. Don't touch it." Her tone is strong and she turns to face the younger two cats, "Grab the mouse you caught earlier, we're leaving.'
(Hm...it could be similar to Peony's situation in which it was just a bunch of camping twolegs ^-^ But if that's the case, then we should decide on the details of the illness now as well as who's going to catch it. Couple things: What are the symptoms?: How does it spread?: Is it lethal?: If so, how long does it take to kill?: What's its cure?: These are the ones I came up with off the top of my head)
What are the symptoms?: Seizures How does it spread?: Through contact with infected animal's wounds/eating an infected animal Is it lethal?: Yes If so, how long does it take to kill?: What's its cure?:
That's what I can add so far))
After a few painful moments of whatever was happening, Littleear stiffened, and then calmed down. His head was still swimming but it was clearing up now, and he staggered onto his paws weakly, looking at the cats who had gathered around with unfocused eyes. The first one he recognised, after hearing her voice and then seeing her after his vision adjusted, was Starlingwish. "St-Starlingwish?"
(Actually, If it was insecticide it could be lethal, and cause similar symptoms, I saw one of those forensic files show like things last night about the effects on humans, Perhaps two-legs brought it with them while hunting, left some of the things because of a storm, some prey got into it, and the eating and digesting of poisoned prey poisons the cat? In this case the symptoms would be immediate. It would cause foaming to occur because it was poison, and also cause possible seizures(even comas and death). Go ahead and Research if you would like. It could kill immediately depending on how the cat reacts and how much they digest. We could use yarrow and even maybe thyme as possible 'cures' but the main things to use would be yarrow, water and time(as in time, to get over it. This can be up to weeks if the amount is great and does not kill them.)
Starlingwisp gasped, watching through terrible moments as she thought Littleear was about to die. She then calmed a bit, and looked at Littleear, glad he was able to speak, "Let me get you some water!" She said, and looked at him, "I think Dawnwish might be busy, so lay down a little out of camp and let me get you some fresh water!" She said, a bit frightened.
Nightpaw nodded, and looked at the prey. She felt a sudden fear, and turned to her mentor, "My sister...my sister we have to warn her, She could get sick, I have to get her...my sister..." she whimpered, a bit fearful. She was scared in battle, but even more frightful over this ordeal...this poisoned prey it seemed.
(even Basil and Oregeno could be used for helping with the bitter tastes of the insecticide infected prey. This could mean that cats if digesting it, could transport it to other cats by cleaning each other and what not. But it would be a mysterious disease, as coughing and sneezing would not spread it. It wouldn't really be a disease, but a poison. Hope you take this into account and think about it :3. Also never in real life mess with insecticide.)
(Oh man, that actually does sound really good Lynx! XD I don't watch shows like that so I wouldn't know, I just mainly listen to music and whatever is on :/))
The tom nodded, "N-No one touch the b-bird with their mouth" he croaked and stumbled to a place he could lie back down, trying to process what just happened, laying still until his stomach rested and Starlingwish came back with some water. Had he eaten something like that before and not noticed the foam?
(That would explain why we was effected so suddenly too. Oh and not trying to be mean but I've noticed this some, you keep calling her Starlingwish, her names actually Starlingwisp :3.)
Starlingwisp returned some time later with a small rock that had some water in it's holes, and brought some moss as well, "Try drinking some and cleaning up, it...it should help I think!" she tried to stammer, her body shaking from the stress she had endured seeing her clan mate effected.
(I noticed the front page has it wrong as well, I made sure whenever I first posted her form on the original reboot I did specify Starlingwisp, and I did, it's on page 3 on the original reboot. I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, I was actually wandering if you could correct that Novi, please? Thanks again guys and my apologies if I came off as rude!)
(For whatever reason she was Starlingwish in the allegiance o-o fixed it tho. Found this so I'm just going to skim over it ^^" but insecticides could work After a quick skim, the only thing that doesn't fit is the foaming at the mouth. That probably won't happen. But seizures and salivating could.)
(Oh sorry I seem to mix those up alot! Completely my fault XD ))
Littleear smiled weakly, lowering his head to lap thirstily at the water. After getting quite a bit he looked back up at the she-cat, "Th-thank you, Starlingwisp" he purred, or at least it sounded vaguely like one. Shifting up into a sitting position he began to groom his messy fur with a few licks, looking back at his clan-mate. "I-I think I'm okay now, d-don't worry," he grimaced slightly "sorry if I worried you.."
Starlingwisp said, and sat down beside the tom. "Here, rest your head and body, you...you wore yourself out a lot..." she said, not exactly how to explain the earlier events. She began to gently clean his fur as well, picking up small traits of a horrible foul taste, quickly lapping at some water as she did so to get it out of her mouth. She then frowned, "Breezestar, please come here!" she addressed the leader, worriedly as she watched Littleear.
(Hawk I think Web is roleplaying Starlingwisp with Breezestar? :0 and I replied with twigpaw~) "That is a long time to be by ones self," Nectarfur furrows his brows, it was a lonely amount of time for sure, "Oh, I suppose you may not be alone? Do you have friends who stay in the trees with you?" Mikel didn't smell of other cats, or at least none he knew. Perhaps the cats all shared the same scent now and the other cats were enjoying leisure time in the trees. "Hunting in the trees, Mikel that is impressive!" Nectarfur grins at the thought, his laugh is not one meant to insult but one to show how he was impressed. "I fear I would break any branch I was on if I tried such a feat!" "As for why we are out here, patrolling for strangers and doing some training. My apprentice needs to join me as a warrior some day!" he guffaws. Mikel lowered his muzzle at the thought of the friends he had out here. He wasn't willing to share that story to these new cats, however. "...I used to have friends here." Mikel murmured, not really ready to dwell on it for much longer. He straightened his back up and looked up at Nectarfur. He tried to give a small smirk in amusement, though his grief still resided in his amber eyes. "It does take some skill...however, I enjoy it. It's a great skill to have. I bet I could teach you how. It's not too difficult to learn." He shrugged, looking away, "If you want. I can teach your, uh, apprentice too." He looked over at the apprentice and tilted his head in confusion. Apprentice? Warriors? Were they like, being trained to win some big fight or something? "Warriors? Is that what you are?" He asked, curious. He wrapped his tail around his paws.
"Oh." Nectarfur tries to keep the grave tone out of his voice. That could mean many things. The friends continued past Twilight clan territory, they were still in the area but were no longer friends, the friends had passed, and so many other things Nectarfur could think of. He offers the other cat a laugh, it was a bit strained even to his ears- but hopefully the atmosphere would clear quickly.
"It sounds like a good skill indeed!" Nectarfur looks up at the trees with a bit of unease. Not every branch would be sturdy, and he would hate to end up on one of those. "I suppose if Ravenpaw is up to the task I could not refuse either!" His courage should at least match his apprentices on this matter, "Ah yes!- Well. No? I am a warrior, it is a role within our clan. I protect those who reside there and teach younger cats to do the same. One day Ravenpaw shall be a warrior as well."
~~~~
Nightpaw's sister was not within the clan. The warriors had no obligation to protect her, or even warn her, but that wasn't fair. Every cat deserved to know they were in danger. This was also Nightpaw's sister, if Peony didn't help the apprentice.. then she'd likely go on her own and that could spell trouble.
"We will warn her, Nightpaw, I promise... I think we need to get back to the clan first. If we find her along the way then we'll take the time to tell her, I swear it, but we don't know where she is right now and we must think of the clan- Please understand, Nightpaw, we will go to her."

(It okay if I join?)
Crowflight | 24 moons | Tom | Warrior | ɢʀᴀʏ
A dark gray tom with a black overcoat and swampy green eyes. He has long legs, making him a bit on the tall side, but his slight frame causes him to look only lanky. His left ear is fairly torn up from his first battle as an apprentice, and as a result he has trouble hearing out of it. He's an excellent hunter and though his fighting skills are not by any means lacking, he isn't the strongest and isn't a big fan of fighting to begin with. He's snarky and has a very dry sense of humor, through which is how he makes the majority of his friends. He can be somewhat selfish and does his best not to care too deeply about his clanmates, partly to ensure a death will not badly affect him. As a result, he does not tend to respond to criticisms and can on occasion be unthoughtful about the feelings of others, though he is kind and polite enough to be liked on some level at least. Much of life just seems to roll off of this tom like water off a duck's back, for better or worse. He prides himself on caring about the present, never the past.
