*Redstar sighed and he glanced up to see Firepelt limping towards him. She had a lot of scratches, but they weren't serious. She pressed against him and whispered to him* shouldn't we at least try to help?
*Redstar sighed.* we don't have enough cats to do so. Most are dead and the rest are wounded. *he kept his voice low.* and the other clans don't have very many cats either...

Stonefall gasped, limping over to Redclaw and Firepelt. "I think we need to surrender....." He advised them with a pleasing look in his eyes.
Brightwind gave a little growl at one last ShadowClan cat as her clan retreated.

*Redstar turned to see some of his clan mates still standing. Others were lying motionless.* come, let's go sit vigil for our warriors. *he walked over to the new cat and started dragging him towards the Thunderclan camp. The warriors picked up their dead clanmates and carried them home.*

Stonefall helped, grabbing a few deceased cats by the scruff and painstakingly dragging them away. He didn't know these cats much, but they would have been his clan mates had he stayed a bit longer. Pain stabbed his heart.

*Redstar dropped the cat he was carrying near the nursery. He then turned to see the medicine cat checking everybody's wounds. She came to him next and meowed* Starclan is pleased, I think. *she glanced at the new cat* and they have a message for him. I'll tell him once he's recovered.
*Redstar dipped his head* thanks Mintfur.
*Firepelt walked over to Redstar and pressed against him*

Once Stonefall was done burying the bodies, the medicine cat tended to his wounds and he got up. "Thanks, Mintfur." He thanked her briskly, then limped away.

Stonefall heard little peeps of the conversation, and worry wracked his brain. His friends and family were back in ShadowClan, probably gravely injured. He lowered his head with shame and tried to push the saddening thoughts out of his head.
Littlebreeze sat beside her late clanmates, holding an immediate vigil for them and feeling a wave of sadness wash over her. Her entire family were among those lost in the battle, and everything seemed so horrible.

Stonefall padded over nervously, still feeling a huge pit in the bottom of his stomach. "What can I do?" He asked with a weary tone.

"I.. Thank you." Stonefall nearly gasped, delighted at the prospect of being able to see his beautiful, kind siblings and his tired parents. "I promise I'll be on guard, I... Wow!" His face lit up as he dipped his head to the leader and slunk into the bushes, making sure not to be scented as he secretly visited them.

*Redstar shook his head.* I'll do a solo patrol along the Windclan border. What we need is a hunting patrol.
*Firepelt rolled her eyes* fine. I'll make a hunting patrol.
*Redstar nodded and went out of camp.*

Stonefall finally arrived at the camp of his kin, sharing tongues with them and feeling relieved to discover that all of them made it. He talked with them a bit and then headed back home, entering with a ruffled pelt before padding to Redstar who was about to leave. "My family is all safe." He breathed.

*a Windclan patrol was wandering up the border on their side*
(You can control Riverclan and Shadowclan, I'll control Thunderclan and Windclan.)
