"So are you!" Hollyfire exclaimed, unable to stop smiling. She blushed even harder and had to look down at her paws before even her fur became red.

"Thank you!" She purred, pressing against her for a moment before returning to her spot. "So! Where should we go now?" Feathermist questioned, looking around curiously. She looked really happy, and excitement was laced into her voice. That was mostly obvious of all the emotions that were put into her meow.

Hollymist purred and looked at Feathermist before answering. "Well we could head closer to the stream. Frostwillow may be there and she'd love to catch some fish!" She purred, not knowing her sister was encountering a rogue all the way in the Birch Forest.

Feathermist nodded quickly. "Sure thing! Ooh, I love the river! Fish tastes so good, and not to mention that the water can really feel great on your pelt..." She sighed happily, remembering the times in green-leaf when she was swimming in the cool water. It brought back cool memories of a place that seemed hazy to her, and yet she remembered so vividly sometimes. Shaking her head off to clear it, she began trotting with her head high.

"Do you actually like swimming?" Hollymist asked in disbelief, nearly shivering at the thought of setting paw in the water. "B-but it's so cold! And wet!" She said, eyes wide.

She looked at her. "Of course I like swimming! Yeah, it's cold, and it's wet, but that's the best part! I get to feel the water going through my fur, and it's a nice cool down during green-leaf, or just in general! It's really nice! Besides, it has this homey feeling that I can't quite place my paw on..." She purred. "You don't like water? What's not to like?" Feathermist questioned, perplexed at the idea that any cat could ever dislike the thing she loved so much.

"I don't know... I guess I've just never really tried swimming much." Hollyfire began to think that perhaps it wasn't so bad. She knew her mother hadn't liked it but her dad had. Maybe I'll have to try it come green-leaf... Hm.

She nodded, now becoming determined. "When green-leaf comes, I'm going to make you come swimming with me, no matter what happens. If I lose a leg, you're still going swimming with me. Mark my words, you're gonna love swimming!" Feathermist promised, a determined look imprinting on her face.

"Oooh fine." Hollyfire said in amusement, giving in immediately. She could tell this cat would actually rip off her own leg before letting her escape life without swimming. Besides I may come to love it. Frostwillow and I could swim together! She'd love that! Purring at the thought, Hollyfire turned to look at Feathermist. "I think you'd really like my sister. She reminds me of you."

"Oh, really? What's she like?" Feathermist questioned, curiosity in her tone of voice. Trick question! Describe me. If she's so much like me, I'll know what you like about me. And that'll be great! She cocked her head.

"Well..." Hollyfire mused, trying to think of the best way to describe Frostwillow. "Well she's very bubbly and seems to be happy all the time. She's not afraid to try new things... not afraid of really anything it seems.. and she's just really sweet and really cares for me." Hollyfire finished, letting out a breath she didn't know she had been holding.

Feathermist nodded quickly, taking in the words that she was saying and analyzing them carefully. She was thinking each word over. "She sounds really nice! I can't wait to meet her!" She meowed happily. Besides, she's your sister. And you're amazing. So she must be.

"Hopefully she's at the river. She hangs out a lot there ever since..." Hollyfire trailed off, her eyes glazing over. Images of roaring water and her sister- no sisters- flew through her brain. "I used to have another sister. Her name was Rosekit. She drowned in a flood. Frostwillow, then Frostkit, tried to save her but failed... Ever since then I've been afraid of water. But Frostwillow... Frostwillow stays in it as much as possible as if she can save Rosekit like she couldn't before." Hollyfire sighed and let the memories poor out. Once she told her tail she felt lighter and her mind was clean. And then our parents left the Clan and are StarClan knows where. They left my sister and I alone in our greatest time of need! Anger coursed through her but she tried pushing it down. Today was a good day and she wouldn't let a sour mood soil it.

Staring at her, her eyes slowly becoming compassionate. "Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry, Hollyfire... That's terrible..." She let her ears and tail droop sadly. Her gaze held sadness in it, while along with sorrow and unspoken but thought apologies. She wished she could've said more on the matter, but did not. She stayed in silence for one of the first times in her life, letting the quiet fill her ears.

{So sorry for my absence. I've been sick and it's been a hellish week at work!}
Pearl paused for a moment, listening to the cat try and push it's way through the bushes behind her. She also was dragged down by slightly longer fur, but her adrenaline made the sticks and twigs that were catching on her irrelevant at the time. The minty eyed she-cat circled around to the side and eyeballed the clan cat as it came into sight. "What makes you think that I want to talk to you?" Pearl spat out her fresh kill as she spoke.
Hareleap purred and stood, having finished his breakfast. "Excuse me, I must take out a hunting patrol." He booped Icekit on the head with his tail-tip once more as he swooped past the mother-daughter duo, and made his way towards the two she-cats who were speaking near the fresh-kill pile.

Hollyfire took a minute to respond, losing herself in memories of her kithood. "Thank you. I've learned to deal with the pain that comes at random times. We all have to move forward sometime." Giving Feathermist a small smile, Hollyfire began to trot faster towards the river. "Come on! Maybe there will be some fish around!"

[ its all good! im never on during weekends so its understandable c: ]
Frostwillow bared her teeth in a growl. Playing nice isn't working. Time to get mean. "Because you're in my territory flea-dirt!" She snarled, pinning her ears against her head. "I could call a patrol to come deal with you. They would tear you to shreds. But I won't if you are civil." Frostwillow meowed, the venom in her voice decreasing as she got to the last sentence of her speech.
Thunderlake smiled at Hareleap as he left. She watched as Icekit's lips almost formed her own little smile but it vanished quickly. "Oh Icekit. Why don't we go for a walk in the woods? Jaystar will be fine with it." She meowed to her kit, Standing up. Icekit bolted upright and nodded rapidly. "Yes oh yes please!" She yowled, dashing towards the camp entrance. "Wait!" Thunderlake meowed, running after her kit. "Why don't you ask Hareleap if he wants to join us?"
Scowling, Icekit marched over to Hareleap. He's okay I guess... But I just want it to be Mommy and I! Like the old days! Finally the little kit reached Hareleap. "Hi warrior-cat. My mom says you could come hunting with us if you wanted to." She squeaked, narrowing her eyes slightly.

Feathermist nodded. But sometimes, it's hard to let go. Sometimes moving on is letting go of the cats that mean most to you. She thought, sighing internally. Perking up at the sound of fish, she trotted after her quickly. "Ooh, fish!" She purred, her trot turning into more of a skip. The she-cat's mind was cleared of what she was thinking about, the memories of catching fish and swimming in the river quickly flowing in to replace it.

Hollyfire purred as it was evident Feathermist had forgotten what they were talking about. She noticed the river in front of them, slowly moving along. "Come on, I see it!" She meowed happily, racing towards the river.

Feathermist perked up, and her muscles strained. Giving a leap, she promptly proceeded to trip down instead of fly through the air and keep running. Jumping right back up, she gave a second try and was bolting at the river with her full speed. Her excitement was evident on her face, and she stopped by the river, panting.

Hollyfire purred in amusement at the excitement in Feathermist's face. She bounded forward and came up behind her friend. "It looks beautiful today." She whispered, taking in the scene of the river.

Feathermist looked at her and nodded in agreement. She found herself staring for a few seconds while meowing, "Yeah... really beautiful." Flicking her tail, she was snapped back to reality. Feathermist looked out at the scene, sighing happily. Everything's really beautiful today...

Staring over the river, Hollyfire was brought back to her sister's death. The pain was fresh in her heart but she didn't let it show. Feathermist was happy again and that's all that mattered. Pulling her gaze away from the river and the image of her sister drowning, she turned to her friend. "How about those fish?"

Feathermist couldn't help but purr at this point. She looked at the river, and then at Hollyfire a lot at the time. Her eyes had lit up the moment they got there, but they got brighter when fish was mentioned. "Are we fishing? Do we get to fish?" She asked, excitement and happiness laced in her voice. Her eyes focused on Hollyfire after looking between the river and her. Half of Feathermist just wanted to bound in and start playing in the water. Half of her also wanted to fish and talk to her friend. So she stayed put, staring at her with questioning eyes.

"If you want to, of course!" Hollyfire answered Feathermist, glad she could do something good for the Clan. "Of course I'm not too great at it. But I've caught one or two before..." She mused as she tried to remember the last time she actually caught one of the slimy creatures. Frostwillow had pushed her into the water on top of a fish and Hollyfire had somehow managed to hook it with her claws. Guess I'll have to do it on my own this time.

She made a happy noise over her purring. "I'm going to go fishing! I'm not great at it either, but I picked up a few things!" Feathermist meowed, prancing over to the water. Settling beside it, she watched for the opportunity to strike. Falling quiet, she stared down at the water before her paw, at what seemed like complete random, shot in. She felt her claws sink into something, and yanked her paw out just as fast, retracting her claws as well. The fish was thrown out of the water, and Feathermist gave a short nod to herself. It's good to be back by the river! I love it so much!

Hollyfire narrowed her eyes in concentration. After Feathermist had made her catch she realized now was her chance. She raced over to her friend and shoved her in the river. Laughing hysterically, she flopped over and began to shed tears from her eyes. "I'm sorry!" She gasped, trying to contain herself but failing miserably.

Feathermist yelped, flailing her legs frantically until she hit the water. Taking a huge gulp of breath the second before, she re-positioned herself to swim. She surfaced, gasping in shock and with a smile still stuck on her face. "Okay, I have to admit, that was pretty good!" She complimented, still treading water. Feathermist honestly considered pulling her in for a second; But she knew that Hollyfire didn't like water as much as she did. And the last thing that Feathermist wanted to do was make Hollyfire upset.

"Feel free to get me back." Hollyfire purred, sitting on the edge of the river.
