Feathermist nodded, the lit up face making a not so surprising return. "Oh, that makes sense!" She paused for a second. "If I can... If I could be so abrupt to ask if there's a reason why only your sister makes you comfortable? You don't have to tell me if this is too sudden or you don't like to think about it, but my curiosity's gotten the best of me." She shifted her paws nervously and sheepishly.

Hollyfire purred and touched Feathermist's side with her tail. "It's okay." She said, smiling at the she-cat. "Frostwillow is just so happy and bubbly. She isn't nervous around anyone. I guess being around her increases my courage. Plus she is family."

She sighed in relief. Thank StarClan that I didn't really mess up like that. And that it's not something really bad that happened to her. She's so nice, I don't want anything bad to ever happen to her! Feathermist nodded quickly. "Yeah, I get that!" Not exactly the family part, but I get the rest of it! And I can assume, of course.

Pearl whipped around and faced the direction that the voice had come from. He fur pricked up and her eyes narrowed. She didn't enjoy being snuck up on. She didn't answer the she-cats question, but instead picked up her vole and started to back away from the cat. She didn't want to fight, but would if she had to. Her ears flicked and nose twitched as she tried to pinpoint the cat, but her senses were muffled by the overwhelming scent of fresh-kill that filled her nostrils. Angry with herself at getting into the situation, she had nothing to do but run. So she did. Her body whipped around and shot off, quickly shooting into a mass of bushes.
Hareleap purred at the she-cat quietly "She will learn who is trustworthy and who is not. She has smart eyes," He mewed deeply, watching the kit eye him unhappily.

Hollyfire smiled even wider and purred loudly. "You're a really nice cat, Feathermist."
Mousdung! As the she-cat turned and ran, Frostwillow realized she would have to chase her. Hissing loudly she began the hunt but her thick fur tangled in the branches easily and slowed her down. "I'm not looking to start a fight! I just want to talk!" She yowled in hopes that the stranger would back down without a fight.
Thunderlake nodded and looked at her kit. Love flooded through her as she stared at all she had left of her former mate. "I hope that day is soon. Cats seem almost scared of her sometimes." She fretted, curling her tail around little Icekit.
Icekit's heart swelled as Hareleap praised her but she didn't thank him. Instead she gave him a half smile and looked back down at the juicy meal in front of her.

She lit up, now purring herself now. "Oh, thank you!" She smiled sweetly and warmly. "You're pretty darn great yourself, you know!" Feathermist purred happily, staring at the other she-cat happily. SHE LIKES ME! Feathermist was very excited at this, and her eyes definitely showed it. In fact, it looked like she could jump up and take a victory lap around the whole territory if she wanted to. But she wasn't going to do that, she wouldn't just leave in the middle of a conversation.

Hollyfire's gaze lit up and she began to purr even louder. "Thank you so much!" Nobody, except Frostwillow, has ever said that before. "Would you like to go out for a walk in the woods with me? Maybe we could catch some prey for the Clan too." She meowed, still purring with delight.

She nodded quickly. "Yes! That'd be wonderful!" Feathermist purred, standing. She had sat to talk to Hollyfire, but now she was ready to go. "And what I said... There's no need to thank me, I'm only telling you what someone should've told you a long time ago. The truth. You really are an amazing cat, Hollyfire; Never forget it." She took a deep breath. "Anyways, let's get going!" She began trotting towards the camp entrance with her head high in the air. But when she got there, she looked at Hollyfire and grinned.

Hollyfire grinned back at her newfound friend and exited from camp. Cool air hit her sharply in the face and her thin fur barely kept her warm. Shutting her eyes tight, she moved away from the entrance to allow Feathermist through. "Be careful. It's cold." Hollyfire purred in amusement.

She nodded, walking through. She flinched away from the cold and her entire pelt fluffed up. Feathermist nodded again. "You were so right." She trotted out, her fluffy fur keeping her warm.

"At least you have fluffy fur!" Hollyfire purred, trying to make her fur puff up as much as it could.

"Once we get moving it'll be better. But until then, stay close and you might be able to use some of my fur for the time being. Or we could race to a point to get our blood moving." Feathermist looked at her with a cocked head. I Don't want you to suffer through the cold!

"Racing seems fun." Hollyfire purred, wanting to get her blood running.

"Alrighty! Where to?" She questioned, trying to make her fur flat in case it started to slow her Down. Feathermist wasn't that competitive, but she did love a good race.

Hollyfire thought for a moment before answering. "Maybe to the Mossy Hollow. Squirrels may be near there anyway because of the oak trees." She looked at Feathermist for confirmation that this was good with her.

Feathermist gave an enthused nod. "Of course! Ready?" She crouched down, ready to take off. She paused for a second, staring at her intently. "You count off." I count really fast and I don't want to be unfair.

Hollyfire nodded and began the countdown. "3... 2... 1... GO!" She yowled, pushing off with her strong back legs. The forest was a blur around her as she raced through it. She wasn't aware of where her companion was nor was she paying attention. The rush of wind against her face brought her to a new world. One where she was leader. A confident and brave leader like Jaystar. Soon after she began, the Mossy Hollow was right in front of her. Slowing down, Hollyfire felt her muscles loosen up. Purring with delight, the warrior slowed to a stop.

The fluffy she-cat short after followed, focusing more on the ground than anything. She knew how clumsy she could be; Feathermist wasn't the greatest at hunting because of this. She started to stop behind Hollyfire, but instead took a tumbling roll. Digging her claws into the ground, she stood up, shaken but grinning. "Good race, looks like you won!"

Hollyfire purred in amusement as Feathermist stood up after her tumble. "It's just because my fur is sleek and my legs are long." She assured her friend, blushing under her fur anyway. I'm having so much fun! This is all so different. Hollyfire thought, happiness flooding through her from ear to tail-tip.

Feathermist flicked her tail, still purring. "Don't dismiss it that easily! You're pretty fast! I'm just surprised I didn't trip on every stone the way here," She joked, her excited and happy look making her practically glow. Her blood was definitely rushing now; She was a comfy warm now, even though a part of her wanted to jump in water just to see how cold it was.

"Don't underestimate yourself! If I'm fast then you are too. You weren't too far behind me." Hollyfire responded, purring with utmost pleasure. "Your fur just slows you down is all." She meowed, taking her paw and messing up the fur on top of her head.

Feathermist couldn't stop smiling or purring. It wouldn't leave her face, nor her throat. But she was fine with all of that. "I guess it might slow me down a little." She lifted her shoulders in a slight shrug. "But it's a small price to pay. It's really helpful in the winter!" She swept her tail along her side. Feel the fluff!

"I bet! But it must suck during green-leaf, huh?" Hollymist purred, glancing at her own sleek pelt. I get hot enough in green-leaf. Imagine having a thick pelt!

Feathermist nodded quickly, remembering the seasons where she got sticky and hot every time she went outside. "No kidding! But a quick jump in the river will cool a cat right off most of the time! I just consider myself lucky to be so close to one at any point of time. I'm assuming it's the opposite for you, that it's really cold in leaf-bare but warmish in Green-leaf?"

Hollyfire shivered at the thought of swimming. I'll never swim! Frostwillow might like it but I sure don't! "Yah, but I still prefer leaf-bare to be honest. I hate the heat; it makes me feel sick." She made a disgusted face and stretched out all her limbs. The cold breeze blew over her and she sighed in relief. "Though it does get quite cold sometimes." Hollyfire purred, fluffing her fur out as much as she could.

Feathermist nodded quickly. "The one thing about leaf-bare that irks me is The lack of prey. I'm not all That great at hunting anyways, but I have to be so extra careful during Leaf-bare it's ridiculous. I also stand out against the snow like... Well, black and white! Rather, black and grey." She looked at her fur with amusement.

Hollyfire blushed under her fur. Heat swam into her face and she stumbled over a root. "O-oh! Thank you!" She meowed, still in shock. Slowly shock turned to pleasure though and she smiled at her new friend. "Maybe. But I think yours is much prettier!" She purred, flicking Feathermist's ear with her tail.

"No way! Look at yourself!" She poked part of her fur that was black. "I would kill to have those patterns in my fur! Your fur looks amazing no matter what perspective I put it in." She began trotting around her, and stopped back in her original position. "Yeah, I'm right. You're beautiful, Hollyfire!" She grinned at her, beaming.
