((Yeah I wasn't really sure what was going on actually. I intended for our cats to come accross the rogues you talked about or something entirely different but then because we had both been talking about foxes everything got confusing.))

Wildpaw reacted quickly, plunging after his mentor. "That's not a fox." He noted as they ran. Was it another cat, possibly a boarder skirmish? He looked back quickly to check on Vesper. |

Blackfern nodded "Good analysis." they rounded a corner and found a couple or rogues. They seemed to be fighting among themselves.
Vesper skidded to a stop, nearly falling tail over ears. He tsked and moved so he was mostly behind the two clan cats in front of him. It figured that he'd meet these cats here. Just his luck.

Wildpaw quickly determined that his mentor should be the one to initiate talking to the fighting rogues. He moved back a bit but noticed Vesper trying to hide. That seemed odd if it were any other cat he might have thought they were hiding due to injury but not Vesper this was odd. He moved so that Vesper was farther behind him.

Blackfern stepped forwards and asked in a calm voice "And what do you think you are doing in clan territory? Leave now or suffer the consequences." the two separate groups of rogues looked at him and snickered when they saw it was only a single cat and two younger ones.
"I don't think you're in any place to be threatenin' us ya mangy clan cat." the largest white tom sneered, taking a step forwards. He opened his muzzle again, but noticed Vesper. "Well well if it isn't Vesper." he smiled, but there was no warmth in the gesture "It's been a long time since I last saw you."
Vesper flattened his ears against his head and took a hesitant step back. This was so out of the ordinary for him. "I guess we know where to find you. After all, you didn't finish your services with me." the tom took a step forwards again and Vesper moved so Wildpaw was between them.
The tom rolled his eyes and said "You'll pay me back one day wether you like it or not." flicking his tail his half of the cats backed away, though they still looked keen for a fight "We're leaving. We may have not finished our original objective, but I have found a lost item of mine." with a final look back at the clan cats he walked away.
Blackfern only snarled at the other group of cats, causing them to flee as well. He didn't know what was going on. But whatever it was Vesper seemed to make it worse. He looked back at the young cat and saw a genuine fear flickering in his eyes. But that only lasted for a moment before he got a handle of himself and straightened.
"You guys usually find cats like that on your land?" Vesper joked, voice quavering for only a moment before he was back to his light joking tone.

Wildpaw readied for a fight when the rouge called them mangy but looked confused a second later whe the cat addressed Vesper. When the other cat moved behind him he knew it was something bad.
When they were gone he turned to Vesper. "What did he mean your services with him?" He asked.

"When I was just getting used to alley life I made the mistake of asking for help. But that doesn't really matter anymore... I thought he had forgotten about me." he shrugged and tried to drop the subject.

"Vesper I-" Wildpaw started to speak but realized that this might make things hard on him back at the clan. He would want the full story later but not in front of Blackfern. He didn't want his mentor to make him leave.
He turned back to Blackfern. "Are we going to go ahead and hunt or do we need to go back?" he asked.

"I don't want us to inconvenience the clan over something like this. You two head out to hunt and I will track those loners to make sure they are out of our territory. When we get back I will talk to Earthstar about it." he flicked his tail, dismissing them. Vesper nodded and took off north.

Wildpaw nodded. "Yes Blackfern." He followed Vesper till they were out of earshot. "Hey are you alright? I don't understand why asking for help would cause problems. Well not problems like that anyway." He wasn't sure Vesper wanted to answer these questions but he wanted to let him know he was here for him some how.

Vesper laughed bitterly "You guys may have your own set of problems, but the alley has a set of their own. Asking for help, needing it, that is what get's you killed. You have to be able to stand by yourself. Blight is known for helping young cats when they don't know better. I fell into his trap just like they did..." he kept walking, trying not to make eye contact with the clan cat "But as you know, we couldn't pay him with anything... there was little for us to do. I didn't have a choice." he shook his head and looked back at Wildpaw, a pained smile on his muzzle "Let's just focus on hunting."

Wildpaw looked sick. "Thats terrible." He spat. "We have problems yes but not like that." He was quiet for a moment. "Hey look if you want to talk about it let me know ok?" He turned to start scenting for prey. It wasn't too long before prey scent flooded his nose.

Vesper nodded and walked a couple paces away. He was no longer in the mood to hunt, but he couldn't drag cats down around him he didn't even know that well. Digging his claws into the ground his shook his head and tried for a genuine smile. He felt a bit better. Instead of worrying he turned his attention to the hunt. They hunted for around thirty minutes before Blackfern came back and called for them. He came back with a mouse and a decent sized bird.

A few moments before Blackfern returned Wildpaw had gone still before darting off. As his mentor padded up he returned with a large rabbit to go with his mouse. "I told you I would catch you one." He grinned at Vesper in an attempt to make him feel better. Wildpaw might not be great at his fighting lessons but his speed was his strong suit.

SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN ON. School's kept me busy lol)
Vesper had more or less recovered. "Ha ha, I'm impressed. I thought you had talked yourself into a corner." he grinned and pawed at his own haul. Before he could say much more though, Blackfern cut in "Good catch, both of you. Let's head back. I tracked the cats back to the border, but I want to tell Earthstar about this before it becomes a problem."

Wildpaw grinned at Vesper's reply and was about to say something bragging a bit back when Blackfern cut in. Wildpaw suddenly looked worried. Would Earthstar make Vesper leave? He hopped not.

They walked back to camp in silence, still wary from the earlier encounter. When they reached the camp Blackfern ordered them both to follow him to the leaders den. Earthstar was in talking with another warrior but as the small group entered they seemed to just be finishing up their conversation. The she-cat bowed her head and walked out of the den, nodding to Blackfern as she passed.
"What do you have to report Blackfern? I can see it on your face that something has happened." Earthstar gestured for them to sit down in front of him and the group followed the order.
After telling Earthstar the story he nodded and said "I see why you are worried, I will send more patrols that way. We have to be careful with this. Vesper, anything you can tell me about this cat?" he asked gently, somehow knowing that Vesper wasn't too keen on talking about it.
"Um, well I don't know about now. But when I knew him he had a large following of cats. Most cats that were working of a debt to him. As for numbers... it was probably smaller then your clan, but in the recent years he could have gathered more. The alleys have been getting more violent and dangerous as of late."
"That's all good information. If they don't cause a problem we won't have to worry... We've never had a problem with them before either." he considered the different routes which could be taken and looked to the two clan cats "Wildpaw, Blackfern, what is you view in this? I would like to hear your opinion since you were there as well."

Wildpaw looked slightly surprised at being asked but he had started to come to know his leader as a very understanding cat that took everyone's views to heart. "I don't like the look of them. As much as I hate the idea of a fight they aren't likely to stay away. They don't respect clan boundaries." He answered while thinking carefully. "I am certain they won't leave Vesper alone even if they leave the rest of us alone."
Sparrowflight had come to listen. She knew she wasn't invited to listen but she usually did any way. She looked tense. "If a fight is coming I may need more cobwebs and herbs." She spoke up.

Blackfern also meowed "I believe Wildpaw is right. It might be best if we have Vesper leave. I don't want him drawing unwanted attention to our clan." he didn't sound like he liked this idea, but he also believed that it was the right thing to do. The warrior had grown to be able to stand the loner, but if getting rid of him would help the clan he would do it.
Earthstar listened to both their opinions. Vesper say silently in his spot. "I see... as it stands now it looks like we may have a fight..." when Sparrowflight spoke up he turned his attention to her "Yes, you have a point. Perhaps you should take a warrior or two and go collect some-"
"Wait." Vesper spoke up "I really appreciate what you guys have done for me. It wouldn't feel right if I involved your clan in a fight that isn't yours. I will be willing to leave, now that I have healed."

Wildpaw looked frantic. "I would rather he not leave. If he leaves we are basically just letting that cat take him." He shook his head. "Please Earthstar!" He turned to face Vesper. "I don't want you to get hurt by him. He has too many followers you said he has plenty and you alone." he stopped and shook his head.
Sparrowflight watched the apprentice fret. She wanted to help but what Earthstar said went. She was actually fond of Vesper and she had always been fond or Wildpaw. She simply waited to here Earthstar's choice.

"I have no choice if Vesper wants to leave. I will not force him to stay. I can see the logic in both his and Blackferns reasoning, but I also dislike the idea of leaving a cat to get killed." he looked to Vesper "You have heard our opinions, what is it you wish to do?"
Vesper didn't know quite what to do. He didn't want to leave for a reason like this. And if he did leave he could never come back. (So, do you want to have the rogues attack now?? Or later?)

Wildpaw looked to Vesper waiting for him to make his choice. He tried to silently tell the tom that he should stay but he doubted Vesper could tell as he looked so unsure himself. He also knew his mentor probably didn't approve of his choice. He might even be mad but Wildpaw found he couldn't make himself care.
Sparrowflight looked to Vesper. She moved to stand beside him. "Its alright you know. If you choose to stay we will take care of you." She told him quietly. "But we can't and won't make the choice for you. If you feel you have to go..." She trailed off.
