After prying his daughter from his leg and nudging her off to play in the snow piles, Braveleaf turned back to his apprentice and his foster kit. He couldn't help but feel guilty for leaving the little she-cat to wait for his attention. She always seemed so nervous. "Apprentice tips, eh?" the tom mused with a smile. "Well, always listen to your mentor." He sent a sly glance towards Skullpaw, amber eyes playful. "And make sure you practice your soul powers early on. They are harder to master than hunting and fighting, in my opinion."

(Hi Pearl/everyone. Fennelfur died on the way back from the moonwillow and I think that's about it.)

... ↪ Part of him thought Braveleaf's last statement was a blow towards him, because he discovered his soul power so late and it was dragging out his apprenticeship much longer than it should to train it. Perhaps the warrior wanted to stop being his mentor already, then he could really focus on his family if Skullpaw were out of his fur.
"Yeah...great tips. Why don't you thank him, Moonkit," he meowed in a little more of a gruffier tone than anyone who talked to him would have been used to. Skullpaw's next thought process were to find Pepperpaw to help him, but she would know even less about pointers and preparations to give his foster sister if she were a younger than him. Being the senior apprentice was supposed to make him the most knowledgable, so why was he drawing such a blank?
After that, Skullpaw wanted to take Moonkit away from the rough-housing kits and Braveleaf, but Batkit was snaking over to them after his most recent attempt to shove Mousekit's face into snow. "I want to know how to be an apprentice, too! Don't leave me out," he grumbled at them with firey amber eyes, seemingly as determined as Moonkit had been. Skullpaw figured that as the smallest kit of the batch, Batkit had a lot to make up for, and only shrugged at his little brother. Braveleaf or Moonkit could determine that.

Personally, Possumkit wasn't in a rush to do apprentice things now. He hadn't hearda word from Rabbitstar after his experience and that seemed like a bad sign. His logic was to lay low now and try to be a good little kit so the leader will realize he already learned his lesson and didn't need more punishment. So the largest of his litter sat right beside the entrance of the nursery outside and watched the others quietly. He could still not feel the tug of cold at his fur.

--Moonkit frowned slightly at the older tom's advice, wondering how she could do either of those. She obviously didn't have a mentor yet, and, as far as she knew, her soulpower was currently nonexistent. "Thank you,"she started, and was about to spit out a few followup questions when Batkit rumbled in. Her ears flicked back briefly at his gruff demand, but she didn't raise any words of argument. She was lucky Skullpaw and his mentor would talk to her about it at all, and she didn't need to be stepping on anyone's tails in her adopted family - especially not the hardest one to get along with, and the one she had nearly run over that morning. "We can learn together," she offered hesitantly, looking at Skullpaw for confirmation. He seemed to want to be elsewhere, however, so she let her voice trail off as she tried to work out what to do next. Looking around at the other kits she was being raised with, she wondered if it would be a good bonding experience. Maybe they'd like me more if we all went through it together? she wondered to herself, her gaze switching between Possumkit and Mousekit repeatedly as she tried to determine their levels of interest.

(Okay...)
Honeysong sits beside her brother, reminiscing about the past. Her eyes are glazed over, as she thinks about everything that's happened in the clan, those that have died, those that are growing up. She is so happy to see the clan flourish, yet is always sad when a death comes their way. She leans against her brother. "We've really grown, haven't we?" she asks softly. Stonewhisker nods.
"We've grown alright. I can't believe mom and dad are in the elder's den already. You're now the deputy, and we're good warriors for our clan. We would've had to grow up at some point. I'm just glad we were able to stay happy as kits, no event too big to hurt us too much."
"I know. It's been a while since I've spoken with mom and dad. I've just been too busy... I really should go see them..."
"Why not now?" he asks.
"Alright. Let's go." She stands, stretching a little to shake the stiffness from her legs, before glancing back at her brother. "Come on. Get your backside into gear! You're so slow!" Stonewhisker chuckles softly, as he follows his sister into the elders den.

Poppypaw and Bramblepaw wonder if they'd be doing anything with their mentors today. "I can't wait to become a warrior," Poppypaw sighs to her brother, lying on her back. "It'd be so much fun, don't you think?"
"Do you think we're ready to be warriors though?" Bramblepaw asks. "I want to make sure that I know I'm ready before making a step like that... Would I be ready?" He frowns, in deep thought.
"It doesn't matter. I know we'll be ready when the time's right. We'll be able to feel it."

Crowheart and Nightwhisper pad through the territory. They had decided to hunt together, wanting to feel the wind in their pelts. They pad through the Misty Forest, wondering if there are any Deermice around. Hiding in the shadows, Nightwhisper and Crowheart don't need to speak, as they communicate through their body language.

Tornadoheart and Hollyleap are near the Jade Mountains practicing their fighting moves on each other. Both liking to stay sharp, are eager, raining blow after blow on each other, not relenting. They don't harm each other too much, apart from a few cuts here and there which are barely visible in the long run.

Braveleaf couldn't help but smile and his smallest kit, proud that the normally aloof tom wanted to learn something. He was a little worried about him developing an attitude problem but it seemed like he was just a little snarky. Takes after his mother...and his brother. Braveleaf looked over at Skullpaw and thought of something to keep him busy for a while and entertain the kits. "Well, since Skullpaw is the senior apprentice here, I think he might be able to try and instruct you to do a good crouch." the warrior suggested with an encouraging grin to his apprentice. Someday he would be a mentor too, never too early to practice. "Your paw though...maybe you should find another apprentice to demonstrate." Braveleaf glanced at the sky, seeing it start to light up. "I have to go get ready for a patrol. See you later, kits. Skullpaw, we can train your powers when I get back."

Mousekit popped her head up from under a pile of snow, ears perked towards Moonkit. "Training together? I want to train.", the speckled kit mewed eagerly and tried to carefully extract herself from the snow only to tumble ungracefully out with a huff. With an embarrassed shake of her pelt, the young she-cat stiffly made her way over to Moonkit and Batkit, resisting the urge to make a face at him. When she heard what Braveleaf thought they should do, she turned her excited gaze on her siblings. "Did you hear that? He wants Skullpaw to teach us a hunting crouch!" she mewed excitedly under breath.
