Meadowlark paused, only momentarily at the death sentence that came from their leader. She had hoped for a better outcome, but she new nothing would stop the cat in front of her but death. Silvernight and Thunderfang flew forward, onto the she-cat to help now. Her face stung where claws had swiped and her body ached from bites. Foam splattered beneath her paws and along her body. She could not give up now. The demon had to be removed. Feeling sorry for the she cat below her, legs in the air and throat under attack, Meadowlark wanted to finish this as quickly as possible. No use in drawing her death out and making it more painful, although she seemed not to feel a thing. She went for the she-cats soft underbelly.

THUNDERFANG // (the camp fray, particularly Silvernight, Meadowlark, Redwhisper and Rabbitstar): Looking up for a quick second, the tom saw Meadowlark move forward to claw at the downed warrior's underbelly, and realized that they all really were trying to kill her. Seeing blood on his soulmate that appeared to be her own infuriated him, and in that moment, he knew he had to help to end her life. Releasing his bite from the non-lethal part of her neck, he shut his eyes and bit down on the side, aiming for her jugular vein. He felt blood, and it was hot and disgusting in his mouth, but he wasn't sure if he hit it. He just bit down as hard as he could and the world went quiet. Everything seemed quiet to him. He couldn't believe that he had just performed those actions. He couldn't believe he might have possibly hit the vein that would have ended this warrior's life. Everything happened so fast, he didn't even know if she had ample time to react or not. He could very well have missed, and part of him hoped that he did and she could just get up and get better, but then he realized that it would have been best if he hit his target. She wouldn't get better. Her death was ordered for a reason, and she even hurt his own soulmate. Not wanting to find out what was happening, he kept his eyes shut tight.
HAWKPAW // (the camp fray, particularly Highstone): Not taking her wide green eyes off of what was happening, Hawkpaw knew that something was very wrong with Redwhisper, and not knowing what had suddenly possessed her made the apprentice shiver once in fear, especially upon seeing her brother landing on top of her and holding her by the neck. She was so worried, she wished Cloudripple were here do to something, but it was just her. She found herself getting up and taking a couple of pawsteps forward, standing beside her mentor. "Highstone, w-what's going on with Redwhisper..?" She swallowed hard after asking. She knew that he probably had no more clues than she did, but she wanted some sort of hope or reassurance.

--Silvernight paused briefly as Thunderfang leapt into the battle, her sudden haze of slight bloodlust dipping in its severity. Meadowlark quickly joined in to help with the task of executing the she-cat - executing Redwhisper, executing a fellow warrior. Silvernight flicked her ears slightly in annoyance at the tiniest bloom of empathy attempting to blossom in a far recess of her mind, stuffing it down as she quickly descended on the sickened feline as well. Her paws were sure to be flailing at this point, claws unsheathed to sink into every pelt within range. Silvernight decided to take the unpleasant task of attempting to keep her blows away from the other warriors as they stole the life from Redwhisper's already ravaged body; she smacked the she-cats paws every so often, occasionally attempting to press her weight down on the she-cat's chest when given an opening.
--Firewhisker continued after the rabbit, gaining inches at a time on the wiry prey. He felt as if it were slowing slightly, and wondered fleetingly about the reason behind it. The time for thinking was not in those moments, however, and he was soon leaping forward to sink his teeth into the rodent. He caught it at the midpoint of its spine, and it screamed out as it began flailing. It managed to twist and smack Firewhisker in the throat with its hind legs, causing the tom to cough as his neck spasmed in response. Instead of dropping the prey, though, the tom bit harder and the rabbit went limp, its back end falling as its front end continued to scrabble at the ground. Firewhisker brought his paw down on the animal's neck swiftly at an angle, jerking in a breath of air through his bruised throat before giving the rabbit a final bite to ensure its death and end its screeching. He stayed near the ground for a while, simply dragging in breaths of air for a few heartbeats. I hope it was worth that, Firewhisker thought bitterly, grabbing the once-feisty animal and very slowly retracing his steps in the snow. The cold air stung his now-sensitive throat, and the white of his surroundings began flashing at him sickeningly as his head swam slightly.

Meadowlark continued on towards her horrid goal. She new that Silvernight was trying to keep the claws of the ravaged she-cat from digging into her own body, but still some fell into her pelt, scraping and stabbing. She hoped with all her life that it would be over soon, this awful and terrible thing that she was partaking in. The cat was sick, her mind gone, but she was still a fellow warrior, despite her short comings as a social being. The clan needed every cat, but this was the exception, this mind stealing sickness, whatever it was, it was a thing of nightmares.
Highstone shuddered at the fight before him, it's terrible ending coming soon. He felt bad for not getting involved, but so many warriors had already fallen to ripping the she-cat apart, one more would be a waste of wounds. It was an awful sight, and the involvement of a kind she-cat like Meadowlark made his stomach hitch. His mind was pulled away from the savagery by the voice of his apprentice. "My best guess is that she is very, very ill. It's a sickness I've never seen before however, and I can't be sure. Whatever happens I don't want you to get into that mess, you hear me? Enough cats are injured already, and you have some potential. I'm sorry you've had to witness such a brutal thing however. Executions don't happen often." His dialog had been broken and quiet. Pauses strewn without and rushes in between. What a sight for such a young cat. The brutality of the world they had chosen and lived in. But it is better this way. It may be awful but it would be worse without one another.

[[ I kinda wondered if my response was pushing that boundary, so I sort of left it up to you if he actually does the lethal blow or not. If you want me to change other things, just let me know, because I did feel a little weird posting it. I don't want to be that person. But I think everyone is just getting super anxious waiting and wants to finish this off. xD ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Braveleaf, Firewhisker, Aquashine): Nearing the senior warrior, Cloudripple heard the squeal of another rabbit, and her ears turned. She slowed her pace and looked around for who had caught it, but it took a while for Firewhisker's head to come into view. She started walking towards the warrior to converse about what had just transpired, but paused midstep as she realized... The tom didn't look all that okay. He looked a but unsure of where he was walking. Growing a little worried for the warrior, Cloudripple sped up the pace until she was by his side, giving him a once-over. She couldn't see his neck with the rabbit in the way, so she seemed a bit confused when she asked though the rabbit in her own mouth, "Hey, Firewhisker, are you doing alright? You don't look too hot. You hit your head or something?" Her suggestion was meant to be a joke, but it didn't exactly come off as one, and seemed like more of a suggestion.
HAWKPAW // (Highstone): Execution. That word burned in the apprentice's mind. She wanted to run in and help her brother, because his eyes were squeezed shut and she didn't know if he was in pain or just wanted to shut out what was happening, but when she opened her mouth to protest, she quickly shut it. What could she do? It was taking three cats to hold the plagued warrior down, and Hawkpaw was just worried she would get in the way. And if she got hurt... Highstone was right. Even he wasn't intervening for those reasons. No medicine cats present meant a bunch of trouble the more injured cats their were. Sitting down beside her mentor, taking a bit of comfort in his presence, she simply said, "Okay, I won't." She felt disgusted with herself for not being able to take her eyes off of the mess, as Highstone had called it, but she wanted to make sure her brother was okay.

--Firewhisker paused as he heard a voice, his eyes slowly focusing on the she-cat. His jaw slacked and the rabbit plopped into the snow, a few flakes of which drifted up into his face. He rubbed at his eyes briefly before giving himself a thorough shake. "It kicked me," Firewhisker rasped, nodding at the prey he had dropped. He picked it back up before speaking again, "I hope its strength transfers to some of our Clanmates." His voice sounded strained - not particularly rough, but still vaguely rasping. Like his vocal cords were struggling to move, and he had been coughing slightly. It disturbed him, but he figured it would go away, so he gestured to Cloudripple to continue before heading forward on his own without giving it further thought.

Time slowed as suffocation from a flurry of limbs streaked her already blurry gaze. She was drowning in red spit and aggression. Somehow she had found herself pinned on her back, with shadowy bodies pressed around her. The scent of fear and blood tainted everything. Redwhisper opened her mouth to bite the air around her. She attempted to hiss, to growl, to protest, but a volcano of molten copper erupted from her maw. Her throat was like a straw with a hole in it--air she took in by lips simply broke out through the legion. She hadn't a clue who had kissed her neck with death. The cold embrace wrapped itself around her darkening vision. The manic light in her red-amber eyes dimmed. Fervor finally cooled as final crimson gurgled out of her orifice.
---------------
Rabbitstar found the execution hard to watch. Many warriors took it amongst themselves as soon as he made the order, and now damage control needed to be done. Inventory who was hurt, who was unbriefed on the attack, and figure out what just happened himself. "Alright. Highstone, Silvernight, carry her body out of camp toward the burial site. Thunderfang, clean yourself up and then get Tumblepaw. Everyone else, tell those in the dens what happened but do not mention that we have a possible plague on our paws. Everything is taken care of, or at least will be. Understood?" But in truth, nothing was taken care of. All those in camp were possibly infected by this. He had no idea what this was, or what could possibly come from it. His heart did not tell him this was a one-time thing.
(Okay, who got scratched or bitten by Redwhisper? And be truthful and realistic lol. I will roll to see if the characters contract Cloudmouth and post screenies of the dice results afterwards.)

((Silvernight got there late but if you want to say she got caught by a stray claw while protecting the others I'd only be slightly bothered I could enter in one of my other charries, possibly including a rogue that could tie in with Silvernight's past if you'd want that. + obvs Firewhisker, Moonkit, and Brokenpaw were away from it all so nothing there)) --Silvernight pressed her paws down on Redwhisper's chest, watching the last of the blood and spit gurgle from her mouth as remnants of air were forced from her lungs. She turned her gaze to Rabbitstar, listening mutely as he gave more orders. She wondered briefly why he had been the one to simply order instead of enact it, but she did not comment. She moved away from Redwhisper's body, shaking her paws off in a false display of daintiness before scanning her Clanmates for injuries. Adrenaline still coursed through her veins, numbing anything she could be feeling in terms of pain. Silvernight winced at all of the blood and spittle covering her fellow warriors and decided to check them for injuries when she could actually see what blood was theirs. With a glance at Highstone, she moved into position to carry the warrior's body away, waiting for the other she-cat to grab on and start moving.

[[ I didn't write that Thunderfang was scratched, but in the fiasco, I'd say it's a more than fair thing for him to have been. So roll me, baby. Let's test the tom against fate. ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Firewhisker): When the rabbit dropped, she saw the blood on his throat and held back a gasp. His voice sounded strained, and she had a look of worry and concern in her blue eyes, searching him. But when he continued on, picking up the rabbit, she figured he had just wanted to let it go. She followed him. Damn, we already have an injury after our medicine cat's gone, she thought, no idea of the events that had just transpired withing the camp's own boundaries. Without thinking, she just said, "I'm sorry that happened to you," almost dropping the rabbit in her jaws. She was even more sympathetic that he wasn't likely to get the treatment he needed.
THUNDERFANG //: Rabbitstar's voice pierced though the tom's mind as he begun to open his eyes. He lifted his head, mouth smeared grotesquely with Redwhisper's infected blood. His expression was solemn, but distant. He looked down at the warrior one more time, and wished he hadn't. Her eyes were still open, and blood and clouds had poured from her mouth with her last breath. They had killed her. He had helped kill her. Thunderfang blinked. He had never killed a cat in his life. Realizing that Silvernight and Highstone were probably waiting for him to get off the body so they could move it, he turned to everyone and gave a short, stern nod before stepping- wait a second. Lifting a foreleg, he saw cuts and blood that seemed to belong to him. A jolt of panic surged though him, and he stepped off of her even faster. He wasn't sure why he was so scared, but just... Having the blood of the now dead Redwhisper and having even have made contact with her now disgusted him. Her blood still stung and stuck to his mouth, and he wandered a ways way to spit into the snow. No matter how many times he spat, the taste remained, burning with the sickening taste of iron. He had wondered what the hell he had done. He bounded at her, and he just acted. His clan was in trouble. His soulmate had been in trouble and was injured. His sister standing by, who's gaze he could now feel burning into his back, could have been attacked. He almost wished death upon himself for his actions. Not wanting to lick the blood off of himself, the tom risked freezing and started to roll in the snow, hoping the snow would melt and wash the blood off of himself. He felt disgusting.
HAWKPAW //: As her mentor was called upon, Hawkpaw new she would soon be alone. Part of her hoped her brother would come over to her to ask if she was okay, because she craved some sort of meaningful affection after watching such a sight. But when her brother lifted his face and his muzzle was smeared... She felt sick. Thunderfang... Her own brother had never shown a side like this before. It was terrifying to the apprentice, and she once again wished desperately for her sister's company. She had missed this. She had missed her brother aiding in the ending of Redwhisper's life. Unblinking green eyes followed him to the edge of camp where he started spitting the blood out of his mouth. She was mortified, but again, couldn't look away until tears started forming in her eyes and blurred the sight of him. Silently, and all while hoping she wasn't noticed, she got up and slowly padded to the apprentice's den, where she wanted to settle down for a long, long nap.

[Meadowlark has certainly been scratched and bitten etc.] Highstone Looked at the mangled and blood spattered body of his clan-mate. He just shook hi head and then grabbed on, hoping to get this done as soon as possible. The blood in his mouth was bitter and salty and he felt tainted as he bit down.
Meadowlark lay down, her body exhausted from the long fight, her injuries stinging and her muscles sore. She felt awful in all senses of the word, physically and mentally. She had always been a happy, kind cat, and while she would do anything for her clan, but she never did enjoy fighting. And this awful thing that had happened had been unavoidable, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong with everything now, something wrong with her for participating even if it was necessary to save everyone else. She hadn't really known the she-cat, but she had been a clan mate, and that made it worse.

--Silvernight nodded at Highstone before tightening her grip and beginning to pull the she-cat away from the bloody scene. A lot of her pelt had been torn off, and blood covered the limp she-cat's body as thickly as the fur that had once been attached. Silvernight didn't gag, however. She merely acknowledged the taste and continued on, as numb as she would most likely be the next few days. The experience was traumatic to most cats, for sure, but Silvernight felt as if she would be a special case. She had been around violence for most of her life, and had contributed to the death of multiple cats. Silvernight been away from it so long that the events that had just transpired seemed to have split open some part of her mind, allowing stale memories to flow in and old feelings to flit through her chest. She grunted slightly as she gave a particularly hard tug on Redwhisper's body, her paws itching to hurry up and continue on with her previously peaceful life in the Clan.
--Firewhisker grinned wryly at Cloudripple's comment, trying to do so without dropping his prey. He could tell she felt bad for him, and it bothered him slightly. He didn't feel like talking about the problem, though, or continuing the topic. He paused and scanned the area briefly, spotting Braveleaf and continuing onward. "Holding these things doesn't make talking easy," he mewed lightheartedly, over pronouncing to make himself easier to understand. "We should ask Aquashine if she can make something to help with that."

[[ Yeah, the blood and saliva thing is something I was sort of wondering. Also, I was beginning to wonder if you really could contract rabies from just a scratch, and looked it up. Rabies CAN be contracted from scratches, but it's certainly not as likely as a bite. Should we let those odds influence the rolls? Like, say just a scratch should mean that the cat is a bit less likely (say just rolling a 1 or 2 means infection, as opposed to 1, 2 and 3 meaning infection) and a bite/contact with blood or saliva should be the original 50/50 odds? We could even go deeper to complicate things, such as Thunderfang getting his mouth full of blood and being scratched could mean that a 1, 2, 3 and even 4 mean infection when rolled, if we really wanted to push the odds. But that would make things complicated, and I'm not sure you'd wanna take it that far. ]]
CLOUDRIPPLE // (Firewhisker): The warrior frowned a little at the tom's comment about how talking wasn't easy with prey in his mouth. She was only trying to be sympathetic, and she figured that was an excuse to brush her off. Her intention wasn't even to get a response, she just wanted to let him know that she sympathized with him. Though it was meant as lighthearted, the she-cat sort of took it the wrong way. She was a bit sour until he made that joke about Aquashine inventing something to fix that, she she sighed and smiled, relieved that he seemed to not dislike her. "Yeah, that's actually a great idea. I'm sure she could think of something," she called up to him from behind, hoping she was understood with the prey in her mouth. She let out a small laugh, partly to show appreciation for the joke, and partly to reassure herself that things were not as bad as she always assumed.
THUNDERFANG // (Tumblepaw): After a long lay down in the frigid snow, the tom got to his paws, shaking out his fur. He hoped he had looked better than he felt. After a quick glance around, gathering himself, he padded up to the medicine cat den, hoping to find the little apprentice. "Hey, Tumblepaw," he called in, not wanting to enter, just in case he interrupted anything. "I'm afraid you're needed." Not wanting to be the messenger of any of the disgusting details, Thunderfang stepped away from the entrance and sat, waiting for the young tom to emerge. His conversation with Silvernight just a little while ago played in his head. He remembered saying that this small apprentice was going to have the hardest moments of his life coming up ahead, and it looked like they were starting only on his first day on the job. It was worse than Thunderfang imagined. He wondered if him saying that was what cursed the day into being such a plague filled travesty. Even if this were an outbreak of greencough, it would still be better than... whatever this was. Greencough has known symptoms and cures. Not only was this small apprentice dealing with not having a proper medicine cat mentor, but now, dealing with some sort of terrible, unknown disease that even made Thunderfang himself quiver in fear. He just kept thinking about how this day seemed to be the dawn of the end of Tempestclan, and all he could to was plead Starclan to have mercy, especially on the lives of his sisters.

Highstone[Silvernight]: Highstone continued on with his efforts. He wanted to be finished as soon as possible with this task. He felt disrespectful as he thought about it, his general dislike of the entire situation tainting his thoughts as the blood was tainting his saliva. Silvernight was a good pick to help carry the body though. She seemed less disturbed than he assumed most cats would be with the entire situation, and he would have commended her for that if his mouth wasn't full and his jaws aching.

--Silvernight slowed slightly as she and Highstone approached the burial site, her eyes scanning the area for a place to lay the body. She let her half of it sag to the ground and lifted her head to look up at the tom. "Where should we leave it?" she asked without inflection, the functioning and emotionally intact part of her brain flickering in warning and guilt in her use of the word "it".
--Firewhisker flicked his tail in acknowledgement as he pondered what to say next, if anything. His mind was drifting to ways Aquashine could make a prey transporting device, or maybe just drifting in general. "She seems very creative," he agreed blandly. Firewhisker let out a soft, rumbling sigh as they got back to Braveleaf to test his vocals. He dropped his prey at the other tom's paws. "I hope it was worth it," he grumbled, not even trying to hide how terrible his voice sounded. "It beat me up."

Highstone spat out the portion of the she-cats corpse he was holding. "We should probably bury it. I have a feeling it's not the sort of thing we want the prey getting into." The metallic taste would not leave his mouth as he said the words, and he looked around for a place to begin digging.

A sleepy green streak danced around the den before heading outside. It felt invincible yet venerable at the same time. None could see her, and the deranged she-cat appeared to be removed. The soul whisked itself to the elder's den, where it caught the end of Possumkit's tale. It confused her. Icewing never told stories of an almost-invincible cat named Blackheel. Where did the little one hear it from? The green ghost sat itself down to hear an answer. The dreaming form of Dancingwillow's body remained in the medicine cat's den, safe and sound. Who knew how long she would remain out of her body. Too long, however, and she could lose herself.

In fact, why don't we do a mini skip to a day or so after Redwhisper started to plague and we assume the normal burial rituals were done for her and those attacked were tended to. I'll have the rolls up soon. Who exactly is in on that? Thunderfang, Jayshadow, and Meadowlark I know for sure.)
