Boop sorry, I thought you'd left and since the rest of the forums didn't seem terribly interested in roleplaying, I thought I could delete the page, but apparently you can delete the main post and the topic will still exist, yay logic.

[ A.... alright then. I'll try to recreate my first post if you want to give us another shot c: ]
There was a rustle in the undergrowth, and a slender cat jumped out from the brambles, although little more than a flash of ginger hair was visible to the untrained eye. She came to a sudden halt, missing the tail-tip of the mouse she'd been preying on by a couple claw-lengths at best.
Hardly containing her frustration, she sat down on the spot and pondered her situation. She could try again, of course, but what good would it do?
The air didn't hold the scent of any more prey nearby, she had scared what little had dared come out of its burrows in the first place, with the chill of the cold season grasping the land. Leaves had already fallen, frost made the ground hard and icy and unforgiving should one fall. There was the smell of cats about, muddy like her own and smoky like the remnants of two-leg fireplaces they'd sought warmth at. There was the brilliance of the season, and there was also something funny that she couldn't quite place. It did not smell bad, it seemed to her like a natural scent, albeit one that didn't belong here, like an exotic flower of some kind.
Maybe she should investigate it?
Her belly gave a low rumble.
Not the right time, then, she mused, slowly getting back onto her paws, and trudging down the clearing ahead. Time to find something even more scrawny than herself that could lessen the hunger.
Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew. Come to me, child, and I shall embrace you. In my arms lies Eternity.

[ Anything would work fine - got an OC you'd like to write for more often? Go ahead, throw them in. Or just come up with a new character alltogether, even if you don't have each little detail about their personality down yet. Think of a situation or setting you want to start them with - feel free to integrate anything I've already written about, like the season, but also add your own bits and pieces (for example, elaborate on the environment or that strange scent). If you want our characters to meet up, you can go straight ahead - or just write your own intro for now and they'll meet later. ]

♕ -- Eska groaned, as she was in her usual grumpy state. God, it felt like she hadn't had a good sleep in what - a few days? She didn't know for certain though. She didn't bother counting the days. It would only make her yearn for the old days more. She looked down at herself. Although she had never been the plumpest, she was extremely skinny. Her fur looked matted and dirty. Overall, she just looked like absolute crap. She had never considered herself a looker, or at least, not like those dainty little female cats who had all the toms swooning. Not that she cared about others, though ... ! She shook her head. Definitely not. She didn't need any love, or emotional support! She shook her head and tried to clear her mind. She was an independent, proud and snarky cat. That was it. She looked around. The earth was hidden under a facade of powdery snow. She swore she heard a little chirp, and ran to it. She hissed when she saw it was just a cricket. "Dammit!" She hissed under her breath. She sighed. Walking around and getting chilled by the snow wasn't productive. She may as well mooch around in a makeshift den. She trudged until she found a little den. Dusting off some loose snow that had been blown in the den, the feminine laid down, curling up so she could be as warm as possible - or at least, not freeze to death.{ sorry it's so short and bad !! }

A little black she-cat padded along the cold, muddy dirt. She skunked through the mod, not knowing which parts were must and which parts weren't, the mud pulling at her legs. It was hard to trudge through it and she was afraid the smell would mask her floral perfume. Her owners her sprayed her with a pink most that smelled like flowers and water. A little red ribbon was tied around her neck and her ice blue eyes her scared and confused. Holly had followed her owners out the door, but they left in a roaring monster without her, her little wrapped box she'd been playing in was closed and in the monster with her owners. She remembered them talking to the box as though she were in there and she'd followed, but lost them and couldn't find her home so she just went in any direction hoping it would lead home. A cold wind Ruffles the black kitten's fur and she heard the soft sounds of pawsteps. "Hello?" She mewed feebly out, wondering if anyone were there. She'd never met another cat before. She wasn't particularly young, about five and a half moons, maybe a little older.

Arue padded through the forest, her dainty paws soft on the leaves. Her long tortoiseshell fur swished and her ears pricked, hearing a faint hello. Arue sped up towards the voice. She had been lost in the forest for days now, and though she knew how to hunt, she could hardly find enough prey to keep her satisfied. The wind whistled around her narrow features and she closed her emerald green eyes to keep them from watering. Arue fluffed up her matted fur and pushed on.
(Can Arue meet Eska?)

[ Welcome, everyone c: If Arue and Eska meet, I'll have Fand (my char's name) run into Holly. ]
Fand's tail almost drooped to the ground as she continued on, the fluffy. light tail-tip touching the occassional leaf as she passed by. It made no difference, for the leaves hardly stirred. Unlike a few months ago, when each step she took had cracked with brown, dry foliage, the (former) greenery was now half-processed and half-frozen. Her tail left a trail in the thin layer of snow, right between her paw-prints.
What cruel force made the seasons change each year? Could newleaf not last forever, when both cat and prey rejoiced? Or greenleaf, perhaps, mild as the past one, with a lake full of healthy fish and squirrels plumper than the best onces she dared dream of at night? Whatever might let leaf-fall pass into leaf-bare had a cruel taste of humour. Year after year, she dreaded the season, and each year still, it took her by surprise. One day, she'd awake, nd the world would be white and unforgiving again.
She still couldn't detect any signs of prey, however. the scent that had set her wondering earlier was growing stronger. She hadn't been following it consciously, but like so many times when she let her mind wander, her feet had found their own path towards the center of her curiosity.
"Hello", someone called nearby, and though the voice seemed feeble and uncertain, it made fand jump. Then she froze to the spot, trying to determine who'd been able to creep un on her so, while internally scolding herself for being so very careless.
Finally, she recognized an anomality a couple trees ahead to her right. It was a petite black cat, too fluffy and well-groomed for the forest and obviously in the wrong place entirely. With her muddy feet and dark coat, she would have blended right into the gloomy day if it hadn't been for the reflecting whiteness of the snow that powdered the ground. She was also the source emanating the scent, and now that she was closeby, Fand realized that it wasn't natural after all, but made to blend in. Into a floral meadow, that was. Not into a frosty forest.
The red tabby dropped her defensive stance and padded a little closer.
"Might someone be lost, by any chance?"

Holly's ice-blue eyes flickered about her surroundings, the thin layer of snow hiding the muddy underneath, making it hard for the little cat to judge where to put her feet, whether it end up mud of hard dirt beneath. This place was oddly quiet unlike her old home with the sounds of many cats, twinkling toys and silver mesh and her new home with the soft and loud voices clashing and the crackle of fire burning. She'd not known anything could harbor such cold tones and soundless space. She shook her head, realizing that she had stopped and she began paddinggn, only to find that a low bush' branch had caught hold of the smooth red ribbon and threatened to tear it or choke her dare the continue, though she was inexperienced and knew not it could be simple detached by adjusting the branch. The sudden sound of a voice sent the quiet world around her shattering and it took a moment to realize the voice was aimed toward her. She took in the she-cats odd, at least to her, red tabby fur and stance. "Y-yes!" She stammered, daunted a bit by the larger cat and it's defensive stance. She wanted to scamper and hide among the snow and roots, but the didn't want to move for fear her ribbon would tear.

{ of course !! } ♕ -- Eska heard the faintest mew of a hello and immediately recognised it as a cat. She didn't bother to go near it. It sounded healthy enough, so she wouldn't have any sort of guilty conscience for not helping an injured cat, and plus, it was probably some whiny little kitten anyway. She walked near to the sniffed the air. A cold, musty smell and a subtle ... floral scent? She parted her jaws slightly. There was definitely a flower - like fragrance in the air. She was surprised. She hadn't smelt something moderately cheerful in what? Forever. She grumbled and padded around the tiny den. She couldn't get comfortable on the hard floor if she tried to, let alone sleep. She looked outside. Frost, snow, a few miserable - looking bony trees. Could nature not bear to actually be nice to some cat in a while? If that was indeed the case, Eska could relate to nature on a spiritual level. She spotted something colourful out of the corner of her eye. A tortoiseshell cat, seeming to be a feminine, was walking through the woods. She was quite pretty. Eska flicked her tail in annoyance. She was probably some overly cheerful and frankly, kind of stupid, cat.

Arue scented the cat, but the she-cat wasn't moving. She was skinny, with matted fur, and Arue immediately felt the need to help her. "Please, I won't hurt you," Arue called out. She heard a slight tremor in her voice. "You look like you need some food. Here, let me help." She sniffed the air for any sign of prey, scenting a mouse a little way away scrabbling in the roots of a tree. It was small, but plump, and was bound to move slowly. Arue leapt on it with a swift jump, killing it almost immediately, giving it no time to run. Arue lifted the lip body in her jaws and padded closer to the she-cat. "Here."

The small, black female seemed scared and Fand was hardly surprised. "Domestic" was written all over her, the shiny fur that poked out under all the mud she'd piled on, the bright red ribbon (Fand imagined that a little bell might have topped it off perfectly) and the perfume, for whatever reason anyone would stand to have that sprayed all over oneself. The closer she came, the stronger the scent got. She wonderd how much time she had left before a headache settled in. This wasn't the first kittypet she'd seen, and it would probably not be the last.
"Don't be afraid", she told the younger cat, although she knew it would probably do no good. "I won't harm you. Now, lower your head a little so I can free you.... right, just like that." She had held the branch the other cat had been stuck in down with one paw and used the other to slip the red ribbon off. The fabric felt strange when she touched it, but she didn't think much of it. Twoleg things tended to be weird.
"My name is Fand, by the way. Need some help finding your way out?"
She was hungry, but she could hardly let a poor kitten stray about and ultimately freeze to death. It would be her good deed of the day. And maybe, just maybe, she'd find prey on her way back. For good karma.
Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew. Come to me, child, and I shall embrace you. In my arms lies Eternity.

Holly didn't know whether to be scared or relieved at the other she-cat's words. She noted that the she-cat's fur was matted and dirty and the red tabby wasn't plump and well-fed like other cats she'd seen. She ducked her head and was surprise at the ease the she-cat used to remove the ribbon from her neck, the red fabric hanging limply from the thron branch. Her neck was momentarily cold, but the breeze against her neck-fur felt nice. "Fand is a unique name. I think it sounds nice." She purred. "Oh, my name is Little Black, oh, well I guess it's Holly now. I've got a new owner and this name is their gift to me. ... I think."

♕ -- To Eska's great surprise and even greater annoyance, the she - cat had spotted her. She slivered out of her cave and padded up to the tortoiseshell. She let the warm smell of freshly killed prey cover her. She hadn't had anything good for days, some days not anything at all, and even when she did manage to find something, it was some tiny little shrew with tough and dry meat. This mouse seemed plump and juicy. She looked up at the cat who had caught it for her. "Who are you, and why would you catch something for me?" Eska said, completely deadpan. In the current state of the world, it was better not to trust any cat. Plus, it seemed suspicious that she would give prey, which was extremely scarce, and waste it on some random cat? She studied the she - cat's expression. It seemed genuine, as in, the she - cat was genuinely concerned for her. Ugh. "You seem naive." Eska said dryly, circling around the pretty she - cat. "Let me tell you something that I've learnt. For your own good. It's better for you to keep to yourself. You don't feel for anything, and nothing can hurt you."

Arue was taken aback at the she-cat's hostility and monotone voice. She straightened. "My name is Arue. I noticed you looked like you hadn't eaten in a few days, and I just wanted to help." She turned, taking the prey with her. "I am sorry if you do not want my gesture of peace. It was foolish of me to try and help." Her last two sentences were clipped and her ears flicked back Arue looked over her shoulder. "You may be a rogue and a stranger, but at least I tried to be nice instead of unsheathing my claws and hissing. Sometimes, being nice is different than being naive."

♕ -- Eska bit her lip. "Arue." She repeated slowly. The rogue flattened her ears, attempting to look as dry and annoyed as possible. She felt herself relax for just a moment when she heard the pretty she - cat's sadness. It seemed that she, Arue genuinely wanted to help her. She quickly turned her facade back to a deadpan one. She couldn't let the dainty little brat get the best of her. She had to constantly stay the same, monotone and emotionless. No cat could change it, or be able to fix it, let alone someone like her. She glared slightly, to declare and make her aggressiveness loud and clear. "Well, Arue, let me tell you about something us rogues like to call life. Feelings, peace and kindness won't get you nowhere here. Each cat to their own. That's how the world goes around." Eska said calmly, circling around Arue yet again. "If you let your guard down, others can, and will, use you and hurt you. You're lucky that I'm telling you this, and you don't have to learn the tough way." Eska wrinkled her nose at Arue. "And I'm capable of hunting by myself." She let out a slight hiss. She looked down at the mouse. She supposed that it was a kind thing to do .. Eska sighed deeply. "But good effort on the mouse, so thanks."

Arue flattened her ears. "You have no idea what I've been through," she hissed. She bristled her fur, making her look much more dangerous than before. "I'm not some twoleg pet unable to fend for myself in the wild. I have learned to always have a positive outlook on life because without one the world goes dark and gray. My parents abandoned me when I was two weeks old. I had hardly learned to walk." She snatched the mouse up. "You don't deserve my friendship, nor do you deserve my mouse!"

[ I apologize for my late reply, Shinx... Yesterday was a really busy day. ]
"Holly? What a pretty name.", Fand remarked as she stroke the path towards the next best dirt trail that she knew would lead them closer to the twolegs' homes. The terrain was a little rough, but she had lived in these woods for as long as she could remember, and knew each blade of grass as well as her own den. She tried not to flinch when the younger cat - Holly - mentioned her "owners". Fand failed to understand how anyone would willingly let themselves be owned, but she did not bring it up. It appeared to be a mute point with most kittypets she'd met. "Tell me, how did you end up here? Once we reach the treeline, you'll have to tell me the exact way to your twolegs' den, I'll bring you to the doorstep." They'd reached a wider path by now and Fand's paws didn't sink into the mud as deeply as they had before. Curiously, there were pawprints on the ground, as well as the imprints of a bird's claws. Perhaps someone else had hunted more successfully than herself.
[ Out of interest, have those owners moved away? Gone for vacation? Or are they already back and looking for Holly? ]
Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew. Come to me, child, and I shall embrace you. In my arms lies Eternity.

(So, Holly was adopted from a shelter as a gift for her buyers daughter and they were staying in a vacation home. Somehow Holly got out of her box they were taking her around in and her owners left to their actual house without knowing she'd gone out of the box. They would most likely not relialize until they were already back at their house. Most likely they wouldn't look for her, just get a new car as a replacement before the daughter found out. So, poor Holly, but that'll keep me in the rp and I'll be able to continue interaction.)
Holly began padding after Fand and a thought put itself in her head. "Thanks Fand, but what about the ribbon? Are we just going to leave it?" She asked. She didn't know her owners by sight very well yet and she wasn't sure they would know it was her if they saw her muddied paws and ribbon-less neck. She made a little leap over a root and, feeling rather proud, puffed out her chest-fur. She would tell her hairless, deformed, pink owners of her mighty feat of the chase, her meeting with Fand and her leap, though she wasn't quite sure they would understand her. They spoke weird. "I followed their Midnight Beast and realized I didn't know where I was. I followed my instincts and walked in a direction. I ended up in the forest!" She told of traverse away from her new home. "Umm... There were stinky, black, wide expanses of ground bordered by a strip of white on either side and there were blinking red and green lights along with grass and large boxes where different owners reside. There were trees with no leaves and a sign that said something about a cherry rod." She explained the street as she followed Fand.

{ little, can you please like my posts ? also, do you think that they should become friends or not, and if you say yes, how ? i was thinking that maybe arue gets hurt and eska attempts to heal her, but if you have another idea, that would be awesome ! } ♕ -- Eska was somewhat surprised. The tortoiseshell she - cat, Arue, looked quite intimidating when she she stopped smiling and fluffed up her fur. Eska fluffed up her own and hissed. "Great, great! You want me to cheer for you just because you have your oh - so - special positive outlook on life, and that everyone should be just like you? Well, hate to burst your joyous little bubble, sweetheart, but that's not how some cats work! Some of us prefer to actually look at the world, I don't know, in a realistic way and acknowledge and accept the fact that we live in a depressing hell - hole!" Eska licked a paw nonchalantly. "I think we should go our separate ways. Plus, I have much better things to do with my time then hang out with some cute little optimist." She smirked at Arue. What a little scrap. She knew that the feminine wouldn't last a moment in the real world. She had every single trait with would lead to her demise. Being so adorable and dainty, her naivety and innocence, her sickeningly happy view of the world ... She would be eaten up in five seconds flat. Eska winked before flicking her tail in Arue's face. "So long, sweetie." She began to walk off. After all Eska didn't need anyone ... Or did she? She cleared her head quickly in disgust of her own foolish ideas.

(I like that idea. How about a fox comes and Arue turns to fight it?)
Arue spat at the ground where Eska had been, turning around and padding away. She sniffed, catching a whiff of a strong scent she recognized as a fox. Bristling once more, she pinpointed the scent and crouched. She hadn't noticed the fox when she was talking with Eska, which was idiotic on her part. She yowled a battle cry and leaped at the fox, claws unsheathed.
