[ Foxlight | Deputy ]
Foxlight feigned a hurt expression at his challenge. "I would certainly hope not," She said before falling into a slow jog. She bumped her shoulder against his lightly before quickening her pace to run the short distance to the entrance. [ sorry this is short ] | Redfur | lordclover
Redfur purred, stifling a playful growl before he had caught up to her within a few elongated bounds after her. "We'll head this way." He beckoned her to follow him as he pushed his broad body through a narrow gap between two thorn shrubs. Mousedung, of course I had to pick this route. Flattening his ears, he nipped at a thorn snagged near his shoulder. Struggling to pull the thorn out, he waited patiently --- well as patient as he could --- for Foxlight to join him on the other side.
| Sharpstar | 𝓅𝑒𝒶𝒸𝒽
Stifling an amused snort, Sharpstar flicked his tail impatiently. "Theres a fox den a few tail lengths from the backside of our camp, near the fallen tree. I gave Redfur the order to fill it back up, anything to scare that mangy fleabitten fox out of here." He turned away, picking up a soft trot as he made his way towards the camp entrance, weaving through a small gaggle of clanmates. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind help." He called back, just audible enough to be heard over the soft winds that swept low in the ravine.
| Acornpaw |
Studying Mintpaw and Kestralpaw as they figured out how to expand the den, Acornpaw simply watched with a smug look on her face from where she sat. Her neatly groomed feather tail was wrapped around her paws and there was something "posh" and "elegant" looking to her appearance and how she sat. Whiskers twitching with amusement, she resumed giving herself a full licking.
| Yarrowfur |
Yarrowfur flicked her tail, lazily basking in the sun washed part of camp. The ravine would cast a shadow around this time of day, sun-high and it was almost impossible to find a decent spot to rest with enough sun. The sound of cats leaving camp had awaken the mangy furred she-cat and she lifted her head, blinking open her weary eyes. Her gaze was fixed on Kestralpaw, Mintpaw, and Acornpaw. However, she was off to the side of the warriors den and was almost certain they hadn't become aware of her yet.

((That's awesome!))
Once Winterheart was finished washing his fur, he gazed around the rocky camp for a long moment. He finally stood and padded back down the path, and into the forest. The tom slipped into the shadows with ease, a silent warrior.

Thymepaw drank in the information with wide eyes, the excitement of a border patrol still there, despite her almost being a warrior. For her, any day out in the forest was a treat. She paused, ears twitching, hearing a slight rustle in the bushes. The grey apprentice lifted her head slightly, a faint mouse scent hitting her nose. She slid into a hunters crouch, the she cat enjoying momentarily the feeling of power before she leaped forward, paws barely touching the small brown creature before it took off, leaving the elder apprentice stuck in the bush she had leaped at. "Foxdung!" She swore loudly, realizing she couldn't get out.
"Its the best feeling in the world," Berrywhisker agreed, his eyes flitting from one place to the next, enjoying the lush green and the towering pines. The territory was his favorite part of the clan, and he felt as if he found something new every time he left the camp. This would be a nice time to gather catmint as well, before the cold hits full force, he thought. It was never too early to start collecting, or at least to start watching the plants and make sure no other animals got to them.

-- |> Nettlepaw and Stormfire <|
Nettlepaw sniffed the brambles and scrunched up her nose, she could tell that that side of the warriors den was old and starting to fall apart. "We could start here," She meowed. Snorting, the apprentice sat down on her haunches. "Why do I have to even do this?" She grunted to herself, pawing gently at the brambles.
Stormfire watched Winterheart slip into the shadows of the camp, his bright amber eyes glowed with curiousity but the tom made no move to follow. He knew the quiet tom would like some eace and Stormfire stood up and padding away, wondering if there was anyone he could talk to or hunt with.

( Sorry for poofing yesterday, I fell asleep. Haha. I'll be on later today. : 3 )
Rabbitpaw strutted across the clearing to group up with Sharpstar, Smewcall was at his heels. Her short legs trying their best to keep up with the apprentice's long strides. Rabbitpaw sneaked a glare at Sharpstar, the apprentice was clearly unhappy to be apart of the patrol. And now he had to watch out for Silkwhisker too. The whole time he would be biting his tongue to avoid getting in trouble. He would much rather be doing something better with his time. On the other hand, Smewcall looked quite content to join them. She had a small smile on her face.
Darkfoot purred with happiness at Cinderflight teaching the young apprentices. He directed his gaze to the canopy of trees, enjoying the cool breeze that ruffled his fur and birdsong.

Leafrain nodded leading the way towards the border, "I wonder if there's any way to encourage the herbs to grow closer to the camp?" She questioned out loud. "It would be handy rather then having to cross the entire territory every time we need one particular thing". The black she-cat turned her gaze on her friend, "Do you think we ought to gather some dock for honeypelt as well?". The she-cat was expecting and it was never to soon to prepare the right herbs.
Larkfeather watched the training quietly. He had always been harsh when teaching the apprentices anything, seeing the she-cats kindness in mentoring made his fur prickle uncomfortably. Many of the young cats wouldn't understand his methods, but he firmly believed the harder he was on these kits now the better warriors they would be later. Kneading the ground he opened the his mouth tasting the air for prey. Maybe there might be an opportunity to hunt during the patrol too.

| Sharpstar |
Focusing his attention forwards, Sharpstar flicked his tail for his patrol to catch up to him. "We'll go this way." Disappearing around a bend, Sharpstar waited impatiently for the rest of his patrol. a small humid breeze ruffled the tom's slate coat, causing him to grunt in slight annoyance. His mate, Deerstar, and he were polar opposites. However, they managed to agree on similar things despite their differences. A knowing sense had hit the tom once he had lost his first life a few moons ago in a rogue attack, a sense that he couldn't describe to his clan-mates.

Nettlepaw began to weave brambles, she narrowed her eyes and turned her head. She blinked when she noticed her mentor, Sharpstar, the grey she-cat began to pad over, leaving Kestralpaw and Mintpaw, hoping that Sharpstar would teach her something.

Smewcall picked up her pace to follow after the leader. Once she caught up she gave him a worried look. "Sharpstar are you okay?" She mewed hesitantly, her short ears flexing back to show her worry. She knew to be wary around her leader at all times, most of the time she avoided them out of fright. Rabbitpaw walked slow and steady, lagging behind and making him last in the patrol group. He dragged his paws as an act to testify being apart of the patrol. He mumbled something about having better things to do under his breath. His sharp green gaze was pinned to the grassy floor. He pawed at the ground, pulling up grass with his black claws, trying to find some entertainment before he became bored out of his mind.

[ Kestralpaw | Apprentice ]
Kestralpaw surveyed the entrance, then the room they had left on the ledge. "I think bringing it out from the front might work,"Kestralpaw said tentatively. He flicked his tail in irritation as he surveyed the den. He glanced back down into camp where he saw Creekheart carrying in fresh moss. He didn't want to ask for help after not even trying, especially since the warrior seemed to think they could handle it. "We'd need to be careful though, to make sure it is waterproof," he added, taking into consideration what Mintpaw had said. He flicked his ear in acknowledgement to Nettlepaw's complaints, but ignored her fora moment. "We're going to be in this den soon enough," he said. He for one was proud to be able to take care of the den. The apprentices den was usually cared for by warriors who would make sure it was safe for them. It was nice but he was glad to do it himself for once. He noticed Acornpaw watching from not far away and called out to her. "Hey want to join us? We could use an extra set of paws!" [ Cinderflight | Warrior ] Cinderflight followed the length of the border while watching closely as Thymepaw began to hunt. She stifled a chuckle as she heard the apprentice swear after pouncing and turned her attention back to the border. She tested the air one more and upon not finding anything strange she decided to relax slightly, but still had an eye out. "I'm still nervous about training an apprentice, even though I have helped train one before," Cinderflight admitted to Larkfeather and Darkfoot. "I haven't quite got the rhythm for it, when to do battle training or hunting... I'm afraid of missing something." [ Foxlight | Deputy ]
Foxlight followed Redfur and smiled as he led them through two close thorn shrubs. She smiled, but didn't laugh, certain he would be embarrassed if he did. She nipped at a few of the outstretching branches, keeping them from scratching her pelt before hurrying through the rest of the gap. "At least now I know for certain you're a warrior, a kittypet wouldn't have dared go through that," Foxlight said lightly.

Thymepaw returned to the patrol, a scowl on the she cats face, most of her fur covered in sticks and leaves. She lashed her tail, listening in on the older warriors conversation, for once remaining silent, knowing she had nothing to say. She was still an apprentice herself, and she had no interest in become a mentor anytime soon. She had no idea how she would be able to train a kit into a warrior, and the thought scared her. She shook out her fur, loose branches scattering around her.

| Sharpstar |
Sharpstar looked up, a bit of surprise glinting in his eyes at Smewcall's concern. "Why wouldn't I be?" His voice was curt and cold but never snappish. Stifling a remark, Sharpstar continued on at a leisure pace, his senses focused on the forest before him. It didn't take him long to realize his dismissing demeanor and he slowed, shortening his stride to match the patrols. Whiskers twitching, his gaze focused on Rabbitpaw who lingered behind with a somewhat grumpy demeanor. He stifled an chuckle of amusement, although a glint of it managed to show in his brown colored eyes.
| Acornpaw |
Acornpaw inspected her claws, sheathing them as she set her paw down. Her smug look caught Kestralpaw's. "Sharpstar didn't ask me. He asked you." She purred, running a paw over her ears to emphasize she was perfectly fine watching the apprentices suffer. There was only one apprentice like her, Nettlepaw. Although similar, she wasn't sure she would ever get along with the equally naughty she-cat.
| Redfur |
Grumbling out of annoyance, "What would you do if I suddenly left to join a twoleg?" Redfur's whiskers twitched in amusement as he beckoned Foxlight to keep walking. "I mean, I'd get extra food, I won't have the dangers of the forest, and i'll have the comfort of that nice stroking." Although this was all just a joke, he managed to make it sincere. Redfur waited for her reaction in silence, as he walked on with elongated strides.

The grey she-cat tilted her head and turned to look back at the warriors den. I don't think anyone cares, She stared at Kestralpaw when he commented about becoming a warrior. Nettlepaw rested her gaze on the apprentice that padded over, Acornpaw. She snorted, "Useless mouse-brain,"

"You're doin' your best and that's what counts," Darkfoot meowed, holding a steady sympathetic gaze, "I'm sure you're doing just fine. But if you ever need help you can come to me." He tilted his head to the side. He turned to Thymepaw and smiled with a small chuckle. "You've got a lil' bit of somethin' in your fur," he pointed a forepaw to a leaf that clung to her shoulder. "But, Cinderlfight, why don't you take this opportunity to show Thymepaw the proper hunting crouch, if you haven't already. Practice leads to perfection." He stood up straighter and puffed out his chest, his tail held upright and waving behind him.
Smewcall nodded rapidy with a nervous smile. Her feathery black tail swept behind her while she walked, stirring leaf litter in her wake. The apprentice Rappitpaw started walking slower and slower. He kept his head down and his tail lower. He glared up at Smewcall and Sharpstar ahead of him every-now-and-then before quickly looking back down at the floor. By now he was a good fox length or two behind the whole patrol. Smewcall peaked over her shoulder to look at him, she had heard his pawsteps growing fainter. Almost as if he was sneaking backwards to flee the patrol. She paused in her tracks for a second, "Are you okay too, Rabbit?" She tilted her head to the side, "Please keep up." She gave him a meek smile. Normally Smewcall would be up and running circles around the patrol group, talking away, and making jokes. But with the intimidating Sharpstar around she was quiet as a mouse, something about him just scared her out of her wits.

"I'm almost a warrior, I know a basic hunters crouch," Thymepaw snapped, tail lashing before she realized what she just said. The dark grey she cat widened her eyes in horror, realization dawning on the small she cat. She clamped her mouth shut and studied her paws, trying her best to remain silent. Why can't I keep my mouth shut? She thought in aggravation, knowing that her mouth was going to be the death of her one day. "S-Sorry," She added half heartedly, flattening her ears slightly.

Mintpaw snorted at Acornpaw's comment. While she may not like her duties, and always seemed to complain about her training at least she did them. "Don't bother Kestralpaw, Acornpaw believes she's above apprentice work" Mintpaw glared at the dark brown she-cat tail tip twitching in irritation. "I'll go look for some more brambles" she meowed to Kestralpaw stalking past Acornpaw her plume of a tail swishing, "Honestly you're about as much use as a dead fox- it'll be a miracle from starclan if you ever get given your warrior name". Mintpaw directed the hurtful comment to Acornpaw as she passed her. At the best of times Mintpaw could be a tad outspoken or rude, but today she was simply grumpy and Acornpaw was getting on her nerves.

Larkfeather nodded his head agreeing with Darkfoot's comment, "Have faith in your abilities. Sharpstar and Deerstar chose you as mentor because you are the right cat for the job." he commented. The tom rarely gave out compliments and that was maybe as close to one as you would get from him.He looked at Thymepaw "It wouldn't hurt to revise it. "Perhaps there is a way." Berrywhisker mewed, before pausing, eyes glazed over in a thoughtful manner. "Perhaps we could try to move them closer to the camp, see if they will keep?" He suggested with almost a doubtful tone in his voice. It was worth a shot, but he wasn't sure how well herbs would deal with being moved around. He nodded at the comment of needing the herb for their queen, and glanced at Panthermoon with an almost bored expression on his face, the typical Berrywhisker back. He said nothing to the warrior, only flicking his ear in greeting.
Thymepaw let out a soft huff, but said no more, knowing she was probably already in trouble for her last comment, there was no point in getting into any more trouble today. She had to act maturely or they would never let her be a warrior, she'd be the last apprentice in the den.
