---- Introduction ---- When you were six moons, you watched flames consume your home. The twolegs that had adopted you were dead now. You were the lucky one. They had thrown you out the window when the house started to burn. Now you sit, shivering in the grass, and whimpering and mewing softly for any sort of help. You don’t have to mew for long. Strong hands gently pick you up. You quickly recognize the scent of twolegs and you instinctively purr. The twoleg does their rocky purr back. Gently, you are place in some place dark yet warm. The hands pet you once, then leave. Despite your fear, the steady marching lulls you to sleep.
When you are ten moons, you were scolded for killing a pet bird. The female twolegs cried near the white bird. The wounds were slowly turning the bird's white feathers crimson. You don't really know why you are being scolded for killing the bird, but apparently, you had done wrong. The male threw a vase at you. It missed but shattered on impact with the stone floor. The twolegs shrieked as the shards flew and you escaped through a window. You are saddened by leaving when the twolegs had raised for you for four moons, but the shards imbedded into your skin reminded you to keep moving.
When you were twelve moons, you were saved by a group of cats. You had tried to steal some meat from the twoleg’s pile. It was risky and sure enough, the twoleg had seen you. You were chased until the cats knocked over wood boxes to block the twoleg. They greeted you warmly once the danger was gone. At first, you were skeptical about the new cats but they quickly proved to be friendly and very helpful. You learned about their group and where each of them came from a different place. One cat had lived on a ship. Another was a housecat who escaped. For some reason, maybe for the fact that they seemed to be about as lost as you, you were convinced to join these cats, for now.
When you are eighteen moons, you are a respected member of the group. Most smile and greet you as you pass. Some glare but there are cats like that where ever you go. You are warm most nights and have a full belly. You feel almost at peace. You think you have found your home.
---- Rules ---- Literacy; No one liners please. Correct grammar and spelling is also encouraged, but I understand if you are not perfect. I’m certainly not.
Activity; Please post, not just hello and good-bye, a couple times a week. I’m busy during the week so I understand if you don’t turn up much. Though, for a higher level position, I’m going to have to ask you to show up more.
Realistic; This applies to both appearance and personality. Do not have your character have unrealistic eye colors or pelt shades. Unrealistic patterns are less of a bother. Like tabby stripes that are lighter than the base coat color are okay. Wings or rainbow eyes will not be accepted in this clan. For personality, don’t make purr-fect characters. No characters that can kill something ten times their size. Also, please don’t add that your characters are ‘liked/hated by most of the group’ or ‘trusted/not trusted by most of the group’ in your forms. You don’t know how most of the group will view your character. Maybe they will love your moody character or hate your sunshiny one.
Respect; Teasing/fighting out of character, or between forumers, will not be tolerated on this thread. You will be reported and kicked out of the clan. Characters teasing/fighting each other is okay.
Other; these are all the obvious ones. I know there are others but they really do seem to be extra and things you should know. Though I will add them if they become a problem.

---- Traditions ---- Name; These cat do not have to have traditional names. They traditionally do not have the cannon names like Whitestorm or Bluestar. Instead they can have names like Jake or Augustus. They can have traditional names if you wish but I would prefer if you don’t include cannon clans. Saying that your cat came from another clan is a-okay but do not say they are the descendant of Firestar and were sent by StarClan to help these cats. Really, any name is fine if you can explain it.
Trinkets; Different ranks may have different extras or trinkets. Most gladiators have spiked collars or claw extensions like Bloodclan had. Though, they may not wear them at all times. The other ranks may also have collars but small, leather pouches or small treasures are more common.
Religion; They do not worship StarClan, but rather the Roman gods/goddesses. The gods/goddesses to appear in cat form but look different depending on the cat’s vision of what they should look like. If you need help figuring out which god your Starwachter should represent, you can just ask for suggestions.
Apprenticeship; For the first few moons, until the apprentice is eight or nine moons, they will train with other apprentices. This is believed to bring unity among the group. At eight moons, the apprentice will choose their path and be assigned a permeant mentor. If they are a Starwatcher, they are usually claimed by their god in their apprentice ceremony and trained by the other Starwatchers and their god/goddess.
Leadership & deputy; The leader will take on an apprentice, or heir, usually when the apprentice is ready to become a full fledged member of their rank. This way, if the heir is bad or finds they do not like leadership, they can back out and not have moons of training to catch up on.
Joining as an outsider; An outsider must prove their worth in some kind of test. Of course, this does not apply to young apprentices or kits. Warrior age cats must show they will befit the group. They can choose to fight against another, hunt, collect something difficult, or craft something.
---- Ranks ---- These are the ranks I believe will need explaining. If you need help with any rank, just ask! ^^
Leader and the heir - The leader has the job of making sure the patrols are sent out and the clan is working smoothly. They monitor the training of the apprentices, especially when looking for an heir. The heir is the leader's shadow. They are by the leader's side when they preform their duties.
Medics - They have a great knowledge of herbs and other treatments. They commonly know a couple of defensive moves and how to hunt. Most have cloth pouches to carry herbs but sometimes they possess other trinkets.
Starwatcher - They speak to the gods/godesses for the clan. There is one to represent each god. They commonly do not know many fighting or hunting moves, though it really depends on the Starwatcher and which god/godess they represent. Same goes for extras.
Hunters - These are the cats who hunt for the clan. They never enter the city but hunt in the hills or farms. They don’t have anything that stays with them throughout the day but they may have a couple of treasures they tuck into their nest.
Gladiators - These are the cats that fight. Their training is commonly rough and not all of their fighting is for good reasons. They commonly have spiked collars and claw extensions but will not always wear them.
Collectors - Collectors are also called Runners, if you want to insult them. They go into the city to collect rare materials or herbs. They also collect meat if the season is going bad. They commonly have basic fighting and hunting training but are trained more to evade and run. They are the cats with trinkets and leather pouches that they commonly carry.
Crafters - Crafters make the spiked collars and helps to enforce the camp and dens. They know the basics about fighting and hunting. Some of them know about herbs. They also have leather pouches and sometimes trinkets.
---- Territory & Camp ---- Most of the territory outside Rome is sloping hills with trees dotting the countryside and farms stretched out, molding to fit against the dips and slopes. Roads split the trees and grass and twolegs are often walking on these paths. Different types of birds, mice, and shrews can be found in the trees and farms. Boars and rarely wolves can also be found in the patches of forest. The hares and deer tend to stay out in the fields later in the day.
For bodies of water, there is a lake near the clan. Very little prey comes to the lake. There are only small frogs and small fish. The sea is about a days walk away so they don’t get much fish unless a cat steals some.
The city is most made out of stone and have narrow streets. Many people seem to be coming and going each day. Markets are scattered throughout the city as well as stores. The more important twolegs, aka the ones that are fat and smell like fake flowers, seem to live towards the middle and there is tighter security so many cats don’t go there. Though the coliseum is located pretty close to the center so sometimes cats have to take a risk and go into the heart of Rome.
The camp is hidden in a large, thick patch of trees. The crafters commonly add traps or blockades to hidder any curious twoleg. The camp has bramble walls that are about a foxlength high. Three trees stand in camp. The leader’s den is underneath the roots of one tree and the elder’s den if underneath the roots of another tree. The third is unused for a den and is simply the Meeting tree. The apprentices’ den, gladiators’ den, hunters’ den, and Collectors’ den are all large bramble dens. They have a small space to separate them but are lined up on the right side of camp. The medics and crafters have stone dens for their herbs and materials to stay cool and temperate. They are right next to each other on the left side of camp. The nursery is an old but large stump with the roots sticking out of the ground as the dirt was washed away. The openings are stuffed with moss then dirt then brambles. It is easily the warmest place besides the elder’s den. The starwatchers sleep outside in the branches most of the year except during the coldest moons when they sleep in whichever den they choose, besides the leader's den, elders’ den and nursery.

Ummm sure as long as you don't mind some vagueness. I know I want it to say 'Welcome to the Empire' and for it to be small. Though I'm not sure what I want for a picture. Maybe a golden cat and/or something with the city/countryside. I don't know. >.< Thank you for the offer. )

Yeah, dumb question. I just feels odd jumping in. Welp. Do you have a preference to which character I use? Or some sort of small plot? Silva could be training Scout, since he is a younger apprentice; they are trained by everyone. Or on a hunting trip with the leader. Or can sneak off to the city to meet Oviduis. )

Great! I guess I'll type up a starter. )
Oviduis lounged on his windowsill. The sun had finally made an appearance and now warmed the tom's white fur. A slow, rough purr rose from the fluffy tom's throat. Soon the heat would be nearly unbearable as...he cracked a pale eyes open as he searched for the word. Summer? New-leaf? Planting season? Whatever. He decided the word was unimportant. It was going to get hot and he would be miserable. But, for now, he could rest under the sun, enjoying the temperate weather. He lowered his head onto his paws and let a hind leg hang off the ledge. He kept one pale eye cracked open as he watched the market. His upwalkers had the second floor of the den, which gave him a good view of the street below. The meat upwalker would be here soon. If he was quick, he could beg some small scraps out of the man. It wasn't really needed, after all, Ovidius had all the food he could want, but it was something to do. The tom made an effort to move once in a while. As soon as he heard the cart, the tom slowly rose and stretched out. His claws ticked against the stone as he arched his back. He bounded down the stairs and hoped out the other window. Ovidius hid in the shadows of a nearby stone den as he watched the meat upwalker set up the cloth nest.
(Sorry got a little overenthusiastic with the first post. ^^' )

The young tom looked over his shoulder the whole way into the city. He was a little scared that a warrior was following him and he would get discovered and into trouble with Aurelius, but the farther away from camp he got the easier it was for him to relax. He wasn't so worried anymore. It wasn't very obedient for him, barely an apprentice, to wander off alone. Scout was always so obedient. Green eyes lit up with fascination as he found his way into town, looking around the narrow stone streets with wonder. His ears angled in different directions, listening to the strange sounds and his nose was flooded with scents. He did make sure not to stray far from the shadows or go out in the open in fear that a two-leg would see him. He definitely didn't need to be caught by a two-leg on his adventure. How scary that would be, and also quite disappointing. He was about to pass a man setting up his cart near one of the many street markets, but something shiny in the road caught his attention. Stumbling as he tried to stop real quickly, the small brown apprentice turned and crouched down, crawling out to sniff at the item probably dropped by a two-leg. It was a silver color, round and roughly the size of his paw. A coin. His head tilted, jaws parting in a quizzical expression as he wondered what they used it for.

With a small purr and a waving tale, Oviduis was quick to get the scraps. The upwalker was surprisingly relaxed today. Maybe it was the sun or the fact that he made more meat. Not like it really mattered. Either way, he carried the meat scraps away from the market and towards his home. His upwalkers may disapprove of him bring home food, but the tom wouldn't dare eat the scrapes out in the open. He had seen too many dogs and cats ripped apart for a sliver of meat. He passed the houses, making sure not to look down the thin streets that separated the dens. However, something flashed and the white tom looked down the alley. He blinked when he saw a rather skinny tom holding one of those valuable shiny things. His upwalkers sometimes had those, though they more commonly had the copper type. They seemed to be valuable. His eyes left the coin and moved to looked over the tom. In his state, the unknown cat couldn't do much damage to Oviduis. At least that is what it looked like. Not sure what to do, especially with a mouth full of meat, he just waved his tail in greeting.

Asher was walking In the streets sticking to shadows mostly, flicking his ears as a two-leg walked by carring what looked to be wet cloth's. 'where did he go?' asher thought to himself, looking around the street he was on and didn't see much signs of scout. he continued down the street looking for the tom, if Aurelius found out he went out on his own and that asher went off on his own to find him, they'd both be in some trouble.

Scout's paw reached out and batted against the round silver object, a raspy purr rumbling in his throat at the way it felt. It was interesting. Whiskers twitching, he bent his head and gently took it in his teeth, squeezing his jaws. It didn't break, it was far too hard for that. A figure caught his attention out of the corner of his eye and the young apprentice looked up, seeing a curly white tom. He took one step backwards and then crouched down, curling his tail tightly around himself and securely tucking it over his paws. Hesitating, the brown tom's green gaze scanned the larger feline for several moments. "Hello." He meowed finally. It wouldn't do good to act hostile just yet, not unless this tom was.
