Nightchaser decided he would need some help with these apprentices. The grey tom looked around. He quickly spotted Flamewind. The grey tom padded over to the other warrior. "Are you free? I may need some help." He asked, sounding a bit overwhelmed. He knew the kind she-cat may be not of much help, but she could watch.
Bearpaw grunted in reply to the two. He hissed under his breath at their comments. Pretentious foxhearts, he thought with a tail twitch. Nightchaser may be soft, but he wasn't a mousebrain. The apprentice resisted the urge to hit them. Slowly, he followed behind the two.

Redpaw smirked leading the two apprentices head held high,he was clearly showing alot of arrogance "Hey Nightchaser! Hurry up lets go" Redpaw said his voice Flatulent as ever he was always very...Pretentious and egotistic,Bluepaw was annoyed by that but was stuck with him anyway Redpaw seemed to believe Bluepaw was his lackey or something. Bluepaw couldn't understand why he would want to be so conspicuous. Bluepaw hated being the center of attention.

Nightchaser nodded. He would much prefer a nice, quiet room in the castle, but if Hailcloud could search the Spine for some herb, then he could watch a couple of apprentices. The tom felt a new sense of determination. He lifted his head and walked to the group. He spread his bat wings quickly and took to the sky. "Let's go." He called simply, if not a bit awkwardly. He knew Sparrowpaw hadn't joined them, but if he had to guess, the apprentice was probably somewhere on his own.
Bearpaw rolled his amber eyes. For someone who acted all cool, Redpaw sure was ready to go everywhere. He watched as Nightchaser took to the sky. Those bat wing did look hideous, but they surprisingly worked well. The apprentice was always surprised when bat wingers climbed into the sky. The apprentice unfurled his own wings, but waited for the others. He didn't want to go first.

Redpaw chuckled "Last one there is rotten crow-food,i'm talking to you Bearpaw" Redpaw took flight with incredible speed he didn't want to be far behind nightchaser or Ugly-wings as Redpaw referred to him as sometimes when Nightchaser was on patrol. Bluepaw spread his colorful wings and shot off into the sky if he lost to Bearpaw Redpaw would never let him forget it.he was already imaging Redpaws face if Bearpaw beat him that smirk of Redpaws annoyed him and was Redpaws sore winner smile.

Soon after Nightchaser took to the sky, Flamewing streached out her own white owl like wings and took out quietly, looking back to check if the apprentices were following. She glided quietly half trying to catch up to Nightchaser and half holding back to glid in the back of the group.

Bearpaw knew he couldn't win against the two smaller toms. His wings were large and bulky, not meant for speed. He could beat them in a fight, sure, but flight? That was a little harder. After all, he didn't care about winning right? No, he did. he wanted to wipe the smirk off Redpaw's face. The tom quickly took flight and began to beat his large wings as fast as they could go.
Nightchaser sighed as the apprentices took off. He resisted the urge to mutter something about apprentices being well-behaved in his day. The tom followed after, quickly. Watch one of them fall, he thought with dread. A wrong turn or the changing of currents could easily knock an apprentice out of the sky. If that happened, well, the warrior didn't want to think about that.

Redpaw looked back at Bearpaw, his nose and head rose his eyes narrowed as if he couldn't even be bothered to pity him.Bluepaw hated when he did that it made him feel like a child Bearpaw was pretty big and scary but Redpaw didn't even flinch he was to obsessed in winning every race, the cousins commonly fought in tag team when the enemy tries to attack on cat the other would strike it was always a brilliant plan Bluepaws one at that Redpaw liked to say he lifted the weight of the team, untrue but atleast he didn't say it was his plan he usually was on to run in blind.

(Sorry for my absences.. havent been feeling very well, esp with stuff going on)
Hailfrost had followed Dawnstar, and once at the base of the Spine, she shuddered, folding her wings. It was cold, that was one thing, but she knew that even the, their small group wouldn't stop. They had yet to find the herb they were searching for. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, ears perked, keeping herself near Dawnstar and the other three cats. "It's so... big. They look so small from camp." She meowed quietly, seemingly awestruck. The feline had never seen anything to huge and mighty in her entire life, so big that she thought it could almost touch StarClan. "What would ever even live up there?" She questioned.

Jayflight knew it was cold Hailfrost was always very resident to the cold for her to be shivering was a bad sign.his blue wings were shuddering "Maybe we should take a break?" they could set up camp on the lower part of the Spire then they could warm up he knew Dawnstar wouldn't forgive herself if one of them died of Exaustion,Hypothima or Fell it would haunt everyone.

That is fine. ^^ )
Dawnstar's pupils narrowed as she looked at the peaks. "Nothing really does." She recalled from the times she visited StarClan. The tan leader started into the mountains before Jayflight spoke. She turned to face the tom, about to snap, before she looked at the rest of the patrol. Jaywing and Cloudface were both shivering and she could only guess everyone was tired. Her tail twitched. They didn't have time to waste. "We will look for a den while we search for an herb." She decided. There was still light out, so she didn't want to quit quite yet. It would take the sun disappearing for the leader to stop the search.

Jayflight huffed ''The herb could be easier to find on the ground it might be to small to see from up here'' Jayflight pointed out his breath like mist the fog made it impossible to see until the sun rose."We must take our time rushing will make the job harder" he knew his clan depended on this herb if they flew past it there clanmates would die of sickness.the altitude was pulling at Jayflight making it hard to breathe.

Bearpaw angled downward as they neared the river. He remembered to bend his wings slight to smooth the landing. I might not win, but I'm not going to end up with a face full of dirt. he thought, with an image of Redpaw landing face first. It seemed like something the other tom would do. It took all of his concentration to shape his large wings so they would start to slow and land.
Nightchaser glanced back at Flamewing. He slowed to fly next to her and opened his mouth. The warrior wanted to make sure she actually wanted to do this and wasn't just being polite. From the way the aprpetnices were acting, this was going to be a tough job. He wasn't sure how to state his question without coming off as rude. He snapped his mouth shut and looked forward. Now he just looked weird.
Dawnstar sighed and looked to the sun. They still had a couple of hours left, if they would stop talking. "Well, that much was obvious." The leader said with a harsh tone hoping to end the conversation. She was done talking. There was too much and they were wasting light. "Make sure you can see one patrol member at all times. It would be better if we all split up, just not too far." She said before starting to move into the mountain range. She scented the air for the aromatic scent Snowfall had described.

"Did Snowfall say if it was up in the mountains, a field, near a lake? Whee we could fid it?" Hailfrost asked, keeping near her clanmates.

Redpaw almost landed in the lake he skidded on the water his tail just dipping in the water. Redpaw stopped just in time he frowned and walked over to Bluepaw his ego clearly hurt. "Nice landing" Bluepaw said smirking Redpaw bumped Bluepaw playfully "Not funny" Bluepaw meowed laughing.

Dawnstar didn't looked back or stop as she yowled. "Near the rocks. She didn't mention a lake or field." Even if that was a good question, she couldn't spare any more time. The tan leader crouched and scented the air. She closed her eyes, trying to hone into the light scent she had caught. She marched forward when she caught the scent. It wasn't quite the scent that Snowfall had described, but it was close and familiar. Dawnstar searched her memory for what the scent could be. The wind changed and she recognized the scent. She turned to call out to the patrol but found the red beast already standing over her. The fox looked down with its yellow eyes and its mouth open. It yipped before snapping at the cat. Dawnstar jumped back, letting out a small yowl.
Bearpaw landed. He was a bit unsteady, but he managed to stay upright. The tom puffed out his chest, not caring too much about his loss. He just lost less than Redpaw anyways. Looking like a mousebrain gave no rewards.
Nightchaser landed softly and padded to the water. His mouth was suddenly feeling dry. He drank from the shore before looking up. "Okay, just split off and try to catch some prey." He ordered.

"I'm gonna catch a trout that big" Redpaw mewed drawing i giant fish with his claws on the dirt. Bluepaw scoffed "Good luck with that" Bluepaw splashed water at Redpaw with his paws laughing "Don't splash me you will scare all the fish i am going to catch!" Redpaw growled pushing Bluepaw in the water. Bluepaw trashed in the water before swimming gracefully back to shore.
Jayflight flew on the Foxes neck giving it a few swift bites, the fox couldn't turn his neck far enough to bite him.

Hailfrost's head turned towards the leader and Jayflight, eyes wide as she saw that the sly creature had attacked her clanmates. With a deafening yowl and hoping to catch the creature's attention, the she-cat spread her wings and lunged at it, using her small size to easily evade any bites as she sank her teeth into its flesh. She let out a hiss, folding her wings against her side again, now unsheathing her sharp claws and letting them draw crimson.

The foxes weight made it hard to hold still while Hailfrost attacked it,but Jayflight didn't want to give up "Attack it's blind spot!" He yowled,he never went head first into a battle planning actions of attack and exploiting weaknesses was the best way to win he learned that the hard way.

Dawnstar flared out her wings as she backed away from the fox's maw. She hissed and swiped a unsheathed claw towards the fox's nose. The leader had seven lives to spare. She could draw the russet beast's attention while her clanmates attacked. The fox yipped, now being attacked by three cats. Scarlet flecks flew off of the fox and speckled the ground. It started to snap wildly and buck up and down in a despite attempt to get the cats off. Dawnstar kept her blows aimed at its legs, hoping to trip it up.

Hailfrost was knocked off, being sent flying onto the cold ground, and then grunting as she stood. There were three long but narrow slits upon her shoulder, which she hadn't felt, but assumed it would've been from the fox's bucking or a sharp stick or rock on the ground that had pierced her flesh. She didn't give in, hwoever, only standing up and lunging at its hind legs, then sinking her teeth into the soft and meaty flesh.

Jayflight flew to the ground and grabbed hold of the Foxes tail it yipped in pain if he had help he could pull the whole tail off.he yanked it holding his ground the fox tried to knock him of but he didn't let go of the hold, maybe they could eat this fox there didn't seem to be any other prey in this mountain.
Redpaw attemped to pull a trout out of the water but it pulled him in,he flayed helplessly.

"Hailcloud, fly!" Dawnstar commanded, seeing the she-cat was hurt. If they all left now, there would be a chance the fox would catch one of them by the wing. They didn't have time to wait until a broken wing was fixed or feathers to grow back in. "Next Jayflight!" She ordered.
