Also, here's your disclaimer that I'm a rambler, and I'm gonna try to keep my posts from being super intimidating, but no promises.)
Leafsplash woke with a yawn, arching her back as she stretched. The sunlight peering through the leaves dappled her fur, turning the white warm and creamy and the brown to almost gold. Blinking, she surveyed the medicine cat den. Luckily, most of the Clan seemed to be in good health lately, but she knew all too well how quickly an emergency situation could arise. If the scar marring her face wasn't enough of a reminder, the truth hit her every time her clanmates padded home carrying the scent of blood, or every time her eyes wandered to the sky. Her work as a medicine cat apprentice helped some; it felt like she was staunching the ache of the world's hurts rather than contributing to it, and sometimes Drizzlefall spoke to her from StarClan. Her optimistic side wanted to call it healing.
Shaking her head, she padded over to Fishspot. "Is there anything you need me to do?" she asked. Dapplestorm called him a control freak, but she didn't mind much. It had grated on her at first, but she liked to be helpful, and his instructions gave her direction.
She only hoped that he wouldn't send her into the forest to gather herbs. StarClan, no. The day he passed - and may that be far in the future, she silently added - she would have to pluck an apprentice from kithood to avoid the looming trees.

NochiGingerheart nodded and followed the other cat to the border. He didn't smell anything as far as he could tell, but he also wasn't completely recovered from his shakiness. He remarked the border.

Appearance: A large, broad-shouldered, silver tabby tom. He has blue eyes and a black-tipped tail. His fur is short, thin, and soft. The concept of duty is very important to Drizzlefall. When he was alive, he took his responsibilities as both one of the clan's older warriors and a mentor very seriously. Drizzlefall tends to follow the "work first, play later" philosophy and prefers not to goof off when he has responsibilities to take care of. He's always been very ambitious amd driven, and when he was alive, he was hoping to one day make deputy and serve his clan. (Although he respects Duskstar and Beetlewing a lot.)

Hollypaw ventured out. She stopped at a part of the forest with less trees and brambles. She smelled for prey, and smelled a bird. Oh, this will make Talonfrost happy! she thought. Holly spotted the grubby little bird pecking at worm. She crouched. The bird continued pecking at the worm, not hearing a thing. Holly crept towards, and pounced! The bird quickly abandoned the worm for safety, and she failed. She hung her head in shame, not even able to catch a bird.

Dapplestorm padded into camp with a limp squirrel hanging from his jaw. Technically, he hadn't been on patrol, but he preferred to spend his mornings hunting if he could, even if he wasn't scheduled to leave camp. The forest was where he felt that most at peace, alone in the crisp air with the scent of life all around him. Much as he respected his clanmates, it took him a while to warm up enough to interact with others after waking, and he valued his alone time as much as he valued his contributions on patrol.
He dropped his catch in the fresh-kill pile and stood back, surveying the camp. It seemed like a slow day, which was good for the safety of the Clan, but left him flicking his tail anyway, wondering how best to busy himself.
