(Boop Hi!) Lily's Petal woke up drearily, impatiently waiting for her eyes to adjust to the dark apprentice's den. She sighed, grooming her fur and nipping off stray pieces of moss. She wondered what Brindlestar would have her do today. Loud Thunder sat by the warriors' den, a piece of leftover prey at his paws. He would have to go on a hunting patrol later, he decided.

Brindlestar watched as the sun rose slowly, over the sea, and into the sky. Welcome, Sol. The tabby gave her fur a thorough lick and then turned to face the rest of the island. She gazed at all of the dens, realizing that she had an apprentice to give duties to. She didn't know she had chosen Lily's Petal as her apprentice; but she had. "Lily's Petal!" she called. "Come, and enjoy the sunrise with me. In fact-" she paused, considering if what she was about to say was worth it. "I'd like all of my Tribemates to come and watch Sol rise into the air." Her words were to summon, but they weren't to summon all. Only some, she knew, would think that getting up early would be worth it. A dazzling beauty that is a sunrise will always be worth it to me.

Lily's Petal, already awake, jumped to her paws at her mentor's call. "Okay!" she called softly. Padding out of the den, she stopped next to Brindlestar and squinted up at Sol. "It's very bright," she commented. Her tail flicked up from the ground. "Sol watches us all, right Brindlestar?" she meowed. Being a new apprentice, she was trying to learn all she could about Tribe rituals, but it was so much to take in.

"Yes, it is bright. However, it's still beautiful." Brindlestar nodded at the question. "Yes, he does. He and Luna, Dusk, and Dawn." She turned to face Lily's Petal. "Remember: As long as you have faith in Sol, Luna, Dusk, and Dawn, then you will prevail. However those that do not-" she took a deep breath. "Will not." The words tumbled out of her mouth solemnly. She remembered learning all of this from her mother, now gone, but still alive in her heart. There's no proof that she's dead. There is none.

Lily's Petal nodded solemnly. "You know so much!" She loved having the Tribe leader as her mentor, even though she had only been an apprentice for a little bit. "What are we going to do for training today?" She asked, eager for her task.

"I've noticed that the fresh kill pile isn't all too large. Shall we hunt fish on the coast?" Brindlestar asked, getting to her paws. "Or would you prefer to do some battle training?" This was a test, of some sort. She wanted to see if the new apprentice would want to hunt for the well being of her Tribe or do battle training, for a battle that was no where near.

Lily's Petal widened her eyes at the thought of battle training. She might get hurt, and she didn't want to be stuck in the medicine den when she could be doing other things. "Hunting," she decided. "I'd rather help to feed my Clan than possibly get hurt while battle training." Her words had wisdom in them, surprising herself.

Brindlestar nodded in approval. "Good choice." She turned and began padding towards the edge of the island, which wasn't far. She had been sitting relatively close in order to see the sunrise, and she was happy about this. The water lapped at her paws and she peered in, looking for a fish of some sorts. She raised her head to her apprentice. "Why don't you take a look, Lily's Petal?" she asked.

She nodded, coming up to sit at the bank. A silver scale flashed in Sol's light, and she gasped. "There are fish down there!" She exclaimed, surprised. "Are we going to catch those?" Lily's Petal liked getting her paws wet, but the water might be cold.

Brindlestar nodded. "But first, I'd like for you to try and catch them; I'd like to test your skills. The water might be cold, but let's hope that Sol warms it." The leader flexed her claws at the thought of hunting and then ripping through a nice fish, however she had to wait for her apprentice to do so first. Suddenly, a thought hit her. "I'll ask her after she hunts," she murmured to herself, hoping that Lily's Petal wouldn't catch it. I've made such a huge mistake if she says no. How could I forget to ask her something as big as this? Was I blinded by how special she seemed?

Lily's Petal nodded, crouching down at the side of the bank, staring into the water. A flash of silver near the surface caught her eye and she swung her paw out, claws unsheathed, but just barely skinning the scales. "Frog-dung!" she cursed.

"It's okay. Your skills will come in due time." Brindlestar took a deep breath. "Lily's Petal, would you like to become my medic apprentice? It's very difficult, and it means that you will commit your life to learning about herbs. I understand if you don't want to; I can easily give you another mentor if that's what it comes to."
