i think grieving isn't a bad mechanic per say, but i do think it could benefit from being shortened. maybe a moon or so? having a pause from daily life is definitely realistic when grieving, but sometimes these guys are down for weeks at a time.

I personally enjoy the grieving mechanic, for me it’s a nice reset to dive a little deeper into the character’s thoughts and emotions about what they’re grieving over. I put my vote in! Me too! |

okay! glad yall are all on the same page~
I know yall in YewClan have been playing injured/grieving cats using their other prompts, but some people in PlumClan basically ignore any characters that aren't actively patrolling and I wanted to check in and see if yall feel the default grieving timer is too long. Three moons of no patrols is a lot, and well. A lot of our well-loved cats are getting older.

Totally didn’t expect some Slate x Dapple there. Not sure how I’m feeling about it, and while I’ve written a reply for the scene it’s not quite romantic in nature but who knows, we’ll see if anything happens there or not O:
And once again Seed is catching the eye of Hop’s kits 😂 not gonna lie, MonarchxSeed sounds super adorable. She’s his first crush since Flash. Do wonder how Whispering will feel about her sister crushing on the tom she also likes,,,
And poor Hay and Drizzle, I hope they can remedy their problems there

I was so surprised when he showed up ;-; he technically re-joined YewClan and then got instantly nuked by the war making him fall into a trap and barely survive (the same result Monarchlightning rolled) but I thought this would be more drama. Hazel has 20 for heavy
Hop has 24 for Drizzle
Slate has 25 for Dapple
Drizzle is 73 for Hay (mates) and has 15 for Flashspeckle. He has 9 for Hop
Hayfeather has 48 for Drizzle (mates)
Amberrise has 11 for Flash
Petal has 12 for Seed
Whisperingheart has 21 for Drizzle and 12 for seed
Dawn has 4 for Flash
Monarch has 12 for Seed and Drizzle
Seed has 21 for Monarch, 18 for Flash, and 12 for petal
Spottedfur has 20 for scarlet
Scarlet has 10 for Spottedfur
Flashspeckle has 7 for Drizzle, 7 for Seed, 4 for Dawnshade
Shadepatch still holds 100 for Thrushfleck (mates) but has 20 for Amberrise

If Slatefoot and Dapplestar do end up together so soon after Mistleheart's death, I'd be rather surprised! I've always viewed both of them as having lots of respect and admiration for each other. The pip last moon about them was very sweet, but I didn't realize it was romantic! I do like the trauma bonding idea though, especially since Slatefoot is one of the only cats with strong connections to Bubblingheart and Stemriver, two clanmates which Dapplestar loved dearly. It'd be interesting to see where their relationship goes! On another note, I do have some potential ideas for Echospots  asrise let me know if you are open to hear them! |

Slate x Dapple is interesting, seems like some trauma coping. But Hay and Drizzle disagreeing over kits is a tad surprising.
Flax is back! He definitely gives Sol vibes for some reason, I like that Monarch showed some bravery even if it means a mangled leg. Hopefully she’ll come out of it okay.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees the Flax and Sol comparison! Dapplestar will have recurring trauma about that for sure- she reminds me so much of Bluestar I swear
One more thing. I have some motivation to draw so I may post a little gift posted in the art thread either today or tomorrow oooh

asrise Hear me out- what if Echospots is a reincarnation of Hunterswipe? Hunterswipe's echo if you will  I think Hunterswipe came by before you joined (if I recall correctly) but he was an elderly tom that was placed under YewClan's care until he died of an infected wound. His paw was caught in a trap. I claimed him and crafted a couple of prompts where he had a nice friendship with Dapplestar! But I just think it's really interesting how this guy has a similar backstory and dropped in right when YewClan was starting a war- and he's a lot younger too. He could be bitter about his previous life but still retains those memories about his final moons spent in the medicine den! I love what you did for the post last moon! It drew a lot of connections and they both look practically identical. Maybe StarClan sent him down at just the right time? But anyways, those are my thoughts! It's alright if you don't want to follow through with it and have your own plans!
