Hey everyone! Checking in for the moon- I just started my night classes for college yesterday (and am already having a pretty exhausting week lol) but anyways, I wanted to make a message to say how far YewClan has come! The war with the rogues will be very exciting to read about when I have time for it!

I'd like to announce I'll be taking a hiatus from both YewClan and PlumClan until around late December? It's still a very rough timeframe. I'm focusing on all my coursework now and hope to get a transfer plan. When I come back, I'll be happy to play as Dapplestar again! Please, please don't hesitate to use Dapplestar for any prompts here! Girl needs some attention

On another note, I am devasted Bubblingheart's lineage was snuffed out so early was not ready for that- all these death prompta are going to make me SOB. Also makes sense that Dapplestar is the most average height out of all these cats! Average sized leader and HUGE deputy for the win

Kinda glad that Ice has siblings that are old enough to understand death. Like for Blizzard it was "oh no she's gone!" And for Night it was "Oh look, she died." But for Icepaw cats actually care.

The game gave her to Pondspeckle, but since his injury will keep him down for the rest of her training or at least most of it... I guess either Heavy or Monarchlightning, since that`s who she rolled to patrol with. Probably Monarchlightning.

e-she joined moon 10 and she's 120 now, and that was 69 moons ago, so she would have been 51 moons at join. whats crazier is that Spottedfur (and Scarletdrift tbh) are still kicking! Spotted is over 160!!! Dapplestar was an apprentice founder

also I'm going to be throwing a quick poll up on the main page, just because I'd like to check in with yall regarding the style of the moon updates moving forward! I want to be transparent and on the same page with yall when making changes, and this one has been sneaking up on me.

Basically, would yall prefer I copy and pasted the pips/patrols ect straight to the moon update, kept on with this... looser flavor text alteration style, or should I go a bit more in the creative department and make larger changes to better direct a story/plotline?

Option 1 -- Keep it canon. The onus is on you, the player, to make the things Clangen spits out interesting and character driven. This is what the rp was like moons 1-25ish btw.

Option 2 -- Keep it the same. This is what I've kinda been doing recently. The middle ground, where I change a little bit of flavor text to keep things from being repetitive, but mostly keep the patrols, results, and enemies the same. Aka the lots of dogs and badgers. This is a balanced option, where I try and give some variance to not make things stale, but there's still a lot of creative freedom for yall to twist the moon events into your own plotlines and charcter arcs.

Option 3 -- Keep it fresh. A more extreme change than option one, more along the lines of the war update (but far less intense on a day-to-day). Basically, all the results would stay the same (patrol success/failures, injuries, relationship pips) but I'd take the freedom to craft unique scenarios that are not present in the Clangen rng. This would place the heaviest creative burden on me--like the war update, the details of the events would be more concrete.

My fear with going to hard onto option 3 is that I'd be taking away creative agency from yall by crafting plotlines and defining character motives in the moon update canon. But at the same time, yall seemed to really like the war update and the more structured moon it presented, so I thought I'd put the choice to yall and get some feedback and opinions and see what you all think and want from these moon updates. Would you like future moons to be more along the lines of the war moon (but a little less insane), or keep it with only the minor flavor edits?


Talk here, vote over there, communicate~ Take this as a general invite to like, share what you want to get out of the rp, how you like to think of the moons, what's most fun for you and what you find the least enjoyable ect ect. Get some communication rolling so I can think about any changes to the mechanics that might make the experience ever better

I do think the second option works rather well, but maybe here and there we can throw in a “big plot” and switch to option three just to kinda freshen things up here and there. That way it’s a nice mix of chill moons and then big drama here and there, if that makes sense

And I do want to be clear, even option 3 wouldn't be as crazy as the war moon!! Only huge plot events would get full-Clan interactions like that. It's more just making up events rather than swapping one Clangen result with another Clangen result like #2 is.

I agree with all that has been previously stated above. The war was neat!
